The food here was surprisingly good! All their rolls were packed with flavor, largely thanks to their unique sauces. But the absolute standout for me was the panko softshell crab. I could honestly eat three of those in one sitting. I would definitely come back just for that dish. The cocktails were tasty and relatively strong, exactly how I like them. The price-to-quantity ratio is spot on. A huge shoutout to the service: our server actually stopped us from over-ordering. He let us know it was too much food for our party size, and even after cutting back, we still had leftovers! It’s refreshing to find a place that cares more about the customer experience than upselling. Note: They don't take reservations (walk-in only), so go early because it gets busy. Overall, a great experience.

The Haam Sushi + Tacos is a really fun spot if you’re coming mainly for the tacos. The Baja fish tacos and the beef bulgogi tacos are easily the standouts and, honestly, some of the best tacos I’ve had! It’s extremely flavourful, well balanced, and absolutely worth coming back for. The sushi, while decent, isn’t the main reason I’d visit and doesn’t quite stand out compared to other sushi focused spots. That said, I’d still go here every single time just for the tacos alone. The cocktails are also pretty good and pair nicely with the food. Keep in mind the restaurant itself is quite small and tends to get very busy during dinner hours, so expect a lively, packed atmosphere.

My wife and I got very lucky to walk in and get a table right away. The place was completely full and it didn't take long for a long line to appear after we arrived. The servers were working hard but were happy. It wasn't long for our delious food to arrive. I had chicken tacos with so much flavor going on. My wife had sushi and thoroughly enjoy every bite. Our bill was a little more than anticipated but that was due to the excellent drinks they serve.

Delicious food. Must try are the bulgogi tacos (very sweet but tasty) and the butterfly roll. A very small and tight restaurant, waited about 25-30mins for a table for 6 people. No split bills and automatic 20% gratuity for our group of 6. Also ordered the guacamole and chips, fish tacos, and soft shell crab tacos. Would come back again.

Had dinner at The Haam on a Thursday night. We didn’t have a reservation, so we waited about 10–15 minutes, which felt reasonable given how popular the place is. The space is compact and intimate, with tables quite close together—cozy but bustling. If you're heading to the washroom, just be mindful of the servers weaving through tight corners. We kicked things off with a cold Sapporo beer—smooth, light, and refreshing. It paired perfectly with the bold flavours of the food. The pork tacos were a highlight: crispy, juicy, and packed with seasoning. They were slightly heavy on the sauce, but still incredibly satisfying. We also tried one of their special rolls featuring lobster. Generous in size and beautifully presented, it was a 10/10—rich, fresh, and indulgent without being overwhelming. Service was excellent. The staff were warm, attentive, and patient, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. If you're into fusion cuisine and enjoy exploring bold, creative flavours, The Haam is a must-visit. Highly recommend for a casual night out with a twist.

It’s a small space with minimal tables. They take walk-ins only so plan accordingly. Service was great. Sushi rolls were really good. The tacos are Asian inspired and super unique - so they’re quite tasty. We also got the guac and salsa. Guac was good but salsa, not so much.

Highly recommended Amazing place in DT!! Food I ordered( taco, sushi roll, and karaake) is good! As they have lots of options and cuisine it is easy to find your taste. Honestly shrimp taco is fabulous Service also meets my expectation! Servers( especially a server wearing piercing on her lips) regulary check up my table and ask what I need! This is my new favourite restaurant! The bulgolgi tacos were absolutely delicious and mouthwatering! Each bite was incredibly juicy and tender with the creaminess of the avocado balancing each bite. The gochujang tacos weren't my favourite as the meat had a bite to them and was a little dry but it wasn't too spicy (which I appreciated)! The hotate sushi roll was the most delicious menu item with a delicious sweet and savoury taste that just worked! The service was really well with friendly staff members that refill your water and napkins often. The ambience was perfect for a date night out or a chill and intimate lunch spot with friends. They've been a staple resto in the area and I love their takes on sushi & tacos, their fried appetizers are also very good But I'd avoid getting their food through Uber eats as the packaging is not the best and the food would arrive smashed or lopsided, their tacos are best enjoyed fresh and lost the flavours when it's been sitting in the takeout containers for awhile Overall as great spot for dine in or fast self pickup if you live very close by

Came here for a late night dinner celebration and was not disappointed. To start off, the only negative was the long waiting time. However, given that it was Saturday, that was understandable. The food was very delicious!!!!!! We gpt fried chicken, lion king roll, as well as baja fish and bulgogi tacos. The tacos are an absolute MUST. Overall, 8/10 would recommend and return.

The food here was outstanding. The ceviche had a unique and enticing flavor. The fusion tacos were also a very pleasant surprise. It was a little busy, but we were able to squeeze it after waiting for 10 to 15 minutes

Fusion sushi and taco restaurant that is very popular for after work. Unfortunately they don't accept reservations, but we were able to get the last table on a Wednesday evening. We tried the salmon oshisushi, bulgogi tacos, and the dynamite special roll. The food was fresh, but the sushi didn't stay together too well and the oshisushi fish was drowned in sauce. I really enjoyed the taco though! Service was pretty standard and efficient. Prices are midrange. The restaurant has a good amount of seating but it's often busy, and the tables are a little bit too close together.

A M A Z I N G !!!!!! Wow! We had a phenomenal meal - order a couple of snacks to start while we checked out other orders - hip ambiance, great drinks- the food was outstanding! Service a bit slow but when they food is as delicious as theirs I can't count that against them!

I've been meaning to try the haam. The resto is pretty aesthetic with the signage and decor. The service was just okay, not good but not bad. For the food we ordered: Bulgogi beef taco - this came with 3 pieces and for some reason I thought it would've been more of an Asian inspired taco as in the shell is a deep fry nori. This was just okay, nothing special to be honest. Lobster grande roll -this one was really thick with so much rice, it tasted alright in my opinion but nothing too special. Spicy salmon pressed sushi - I liked this the most! I personally like Aburi sushi (torched) and the salmon basically melted in my mouth. The washroom is not wheelchair accessible and in fact, it's pretty slippery and I almost rolled down the stairs. Overall, I'm glad I tried this spot but not so sure if I'd come back again

Update: I came back for the tacos and they were great, far better than their sushi in my opinion. The bulgogi tacos are the best, so juicy with a nice crisped up shell. The shrimp tacos were also delicious, and the wasabi tako (octopus) was a fantastic app. Definitely coming back here soon for more tacos.

Who doesn't love an affordable and delicious lunch special ? The Haam had an amazing deal for only $19 before tax and it comes with a 6pcs roll, 2 tacos, 2 Gyoza and a pop! You can literally get the best of both worlds: Mexican and Japanese food. My friend and I both got the same set and split our tacos and rolls. The gyoza was a nice little appetizer . We got the Baja fish tacos and the gochujang Barbados beef tacos to share. The fish was really crispy and the pickles were a nice pairing. The beef taco had a hard shell and the shell was a little too oily, but the marinated beef was really delicious. The sushi pieces were the perfect size and the fish were fresh as well . 10/10 would recommend coming for this lunch special if you're around the area. It is definitely a bang for your buck. The service at the Haam was excellent as well. The staffs were attentive and nice. The restaurant also had really nice decor with cute neon light quotes on the wall as well.

This place was recommended by a friend, I loved all the Mexican and Asian flavours ! Somehow it worked really well together. I tried three different tacos: bulgogi, teriyaki chicken and Baja fish. The bulgogi one was by far my favourite! I really wanted to try the soft shell crab taco but it wasn't available. Service was pretty quick but a little disorganized as they asked to take our order twice, and a plate a food arrived that wasn't ours. There is a 90 min seating limit which is plenty of time.

I visited The Haam during Summerlicious ($35 menu) and it was well worth the drive downtown. It was a three course meal, with an app, a main of two tacos and your choice of sushi roll, and dessert. It was A LOT of food for the price! It's a pretty small place so sometimes you'll have to wait to be seated. I chose to have the tuna ceviche and it was a great start. Tangy and well portioned. I also had a try of all the other apps (each person ordered a different one in my friend group) and my favourite was actually the pineapple salsa as it was a unique flavour. For my tacos, I chose to upgrade ($3 extra) to the crab claw option (but unfortunately I can't remember the name of the roll I chose). The tacos were packed, flavourful, and really filling. And the sushi was well made and really good as well. I went with the oreo churros for dessert. They were really sweet, especially when you dip them in the sauce they have - I could only eat two of the four. Overall, the Summerlicious menu was such a good deal. I think this place is worth a visit even without the special menu, and I'd definitely come back to try some of their other tacos and rolls.

Stopped in for a bite with a friend. We weee lucky that there was a table available because it was a busy night! It was a little cramped but we were happy to be seated. They have QR code menus but we also got a sheet with the seasonal menu which we ordered from. We shared the chilli corn fries and grilled calamari. Both were delicious!! My friend got a taco which he said was really good. The food came in a reasonable time and the service was good. I don't believe they take Amex though!

Swung by recently when I was in the area for a musical. The Haam has been on my food bucket list for a while so I had to give it a try! We got: - Creamy korokke: Delicious and fresh out the fryer, light and airy. 9/10 - Panko soft shell crab: Amazing. Crunchy and lots of flavour with some red chilli pepper garnish. Comes with guacamole (it could have used an extra squeeze of lime and onions) which was a great combo as it cut through the oiliness of the deep fried crab. 10/10 - Volcano fiesta roll: Flavour and texture was great. It had unconventional fried potato garnish that gave it a little crunch with each bite. However, I found the pieces were too big, to the point where it was just about to fall apart. 8/10 - Lobster tacos: This was on their winter special menu at only $9 a piece. I was pleasantly surprised to find a whole lobster tail in each taco, which makes it an amazing value for the price. Fixings were great, like an elevated baja fish taco. 10/10 - Bulgogi taco: Sweet and well-seasoned, but we ate this after the lobster tacos and it didn't stand out nearly as much. The sweetness of the beef didn't mingle as well with the other toppings, I think I would go with a more traditional taco next time I'm here. 6/10 - Gochujang barbacoa: Meat was juicy and spicy--reminds me of birria taco! Mingled much better with the toppings compared to the bulgogi taco. 7/10 We didn't get any drinks but I'm confident they would taste delish! Other notes: - Service was quick and attentive! They don't have a reservation system so definitely go early to get your name on the waitlist if you're dining at peak hours. - Note: They do not take AMEX. - Tables are quite small (not an issue per se) but if you order a lot of food prepare for some rearranging of plates! Overall, I definitely encourage you to try this place, the dishes are a total hit, especially if you like fusion!!

Bulgogi crispy tacos, Volcano Roll, and Geso Karaage was the perfect combo for us. For days we can't decide whether we want tacos or sushi, this is the best spot. Each dish was AMAZING, hit the craving spot! I would definitely come back! Heads up, the location is quite small so be prepared to wait if you don't have a reservation. Big parties will definitely need to do so!

The Haam is one of the popular food spots in Toronto well-known for their interesting fusion dishes on Japanese and Mexican cuisine. Looking at the menu, there was a good mix of sushi, tacos, and lots of shareable appetizers. I mostly just tried out their tacos and karaage so can't say too much on the other stuff. The tacos I had were the chicken, bulgogi and shrimp. All the tacos were delicious but a bit oily and messy to eat but was worth it. I went on a Friday night which was busy as expected and is a small place, however, the wait time wasn't too long as they were pretty quick. Overall, I would recommend coming here if you're looking for something different and in a small group.

These rolls are massssive. Food is good. Definitely on the "heavier" side for sushi given it is fusion and from all the toppings and sauces. I wish the tacos held up better... the liquids made it disintegrate. The seating here is pretty tight and it does get busy. Overall i'd return! Definitely something different.

Visited this place on a recent visit to Toronto. They were out of a couple things on the menu, but I greatly enjoyed the sushi and drinks that I ordered. The dining room is a bit tight, but the service is quick and food is delicious.

This restaurant's website says it closed at 11:30 pm on Saturdays. We walked in the rain to get there at 10:35, only to be turned away. The woman at the front of the restaurant told us that they close at 11:00 and refused to seat us. We said that we had walked there in the rain because the website says they close at 11:30 and she was completely unapologetic and insisted that they close at 11:00 (which was still more than 20 minutes after we got there).

This food at this place in incredible. I don't think you can go wrong with any of it. We got: 1. Agadashi Tofu (5/5) - topped with a sort of kimchi 2. Volcano roll (5/5) 3. Lobster roll (4/5) - I only docked a point because each piece was massive and had to be eaten in two bites. 4. Bulgogi taco (5/5) - this one was lovely - so flavorful 5. Soft shell crab taco (5/5) - also lovely with a nice crunch 6. Oreo churro (3/5) - as an Oreo and dessert lover I didn't love this one. I found it a bit dry but others said they would come back just for this so maybe make your own mind up here! The lobster and crab dishes are only available at their dinner service. The bathrooms are downstairs and the path and stairs are super slippery so take care (or pee before coming if you don't want to risk it!). We will be back - great food!

Loved this little random place I chose. I had no idea it was so popular and busy! But when you walk in and look at the food options and literally this myriad of combinations that blow your mind.... I can see why I would want to come back. It's a fusion of Japanese and Mexican food. Try it and you'll see why it works. The taco was a good example of this flavour profile. This gochujang beef taco. This was sensational. I am dying to try their other combinations! There's also a cool combination creatively for their logo. You'll see it in the image I posted or check out their site. Everything I had during their lunchtime bento box choice was tasty but definitely for me the star was that taco. So I am going back to try the rest of them What's really interesting too is they have a raised platform for the bathroom. Haven't seen that before.

Whoa this place is popular! Went on a drizzly Friday evening and it was a non-stop stream of people (service was quick so turnover of tables was good for this type of place). The Haam definitely has a "happening" atmosphere to it. Now on to the food. We got: - Guacamole: Smooth and creamy. I liked the bit of bite from the jalapeno. The side tortilla chips were standard. - Tacos: Now this is where Haam really shines! Got the soft shell crab, bulgogi and shrimp tacos, and all of them were really tasty, had strong flavours, and a firm taco shell. My favourite was the bulgogi (perfect sweet/tangy balance). - Geso Karaage: The squid legs were overly deep fried (tasted almost slightly burnt). - Ladybug Roll: Good size and protein-to-rice ratio. Would have liked more sear on the tuna and less of the poblano cream though. The space, while tight, had a great energetic vibe. Service was efficient. Prices were reasonable. Overall, an enjoyable Friday night meal.

Delicious food but they seem to often be out of many items. Would recommend Summerlicious menu. But if you come on a weekend be prepared to stand in line as they do not accept resos.

My brother was raving this place so I thought i'd give it a try. Price Range: Roughly $20-$40 per person Items Ordered: - Soft Shell Crab Taco - Teriyaki Tinga Crispy Taco - Haam's No 1 Fries - Jalapeno Sambal Karaage - Lobster Grande - Salmon Pressed Sushi Food Quality (Menu/Taste/ Portion Size) - 5/5 - Tacos and Sushi combined? Sign me up! Loved the selection of food! Menu is kind of daunting, so I recommend going with a group of friends and sharing so you can try more things. Everything tasted really good but the star was the Soft Shell Crab. It was a really good portion and the crab was super flavorful. A very close 2nd was the Lobster Grande Roll. Loved all the good quality seafood in it and was packed with flavour. Atmosphere - 5/5 You know those places where you have to go see their restroom because it's cool? This place is one of them. A really cool Japanese fusion bar vibe with a lot of anime posters around. It's more of a group vibe than a one on one or date place. Service - 4.5/5 The service was really good! They were super prompt even though it was crowded and was very helpful with recommendations. It's a pretty packed resto so I recommend getting reservations. Would I go here again? Easily! If you love sushi and love tacos, now you can have both at once! I stopped by for lunch with a friend on a Friday afternoon and we each got one of their lunch bentos that came with a side of miso soup. The interior is cool with exposed brick, string lights, and anime posters lining the walls. What we ordered: Bento 1: Takoyaki, Salmon Avocado Roll, Baja Fish Taco, Pico De Salsa Bento 2: Soy Garlic Karaage, Spicy Salmon Roll, Bulgogi Beef Taco, Guacamole Final Thoughts: You are given a number of choices for the bento boxes and the way to go in my opinion is having everyone pick something different then sharing so you get more variety! Seating is a bit tight and The Haam doesn't take reservations so come early or at a non-peak meal times. Food leans more Japanese than Mexican but still a fun spin on classic dishes.

This spot... straight fire. I was staying next door to this sushi restaurant and noticed it right away after finding them on Yelp. A fellow Yelp Elite in Columbus, Ohio left them a great review so I was sold. I trusted his opinion. After discovering how close it was, I looked out the window and saw a line of people waiting outside the door. The Yelp reviews and photos immediately sealed the deal even further for me. The menu helped too! Tacos and sushi? Who knew? I had been traveling a bit so I ordered online through their website. It took a while as a message popped up and prevented me from being able to order online during their busiest hours. That was fine with me. I was happy to wait. After I was able to place my order, the wait to pick up was rather normal. The restaurant is very small but quaint. I enjoyed the dimly lit space and overall vibe it had. It was obvious why it was so popular. I ordered several items, all delicious. I got the vegetable gyoza as an appetizer, a shrimp tempura roll, and a specialty roll, The Red Dragon (if I can remember correctly). It was a lot of food and I doubted that I would be able to finish it all... but I did! That's how good it was. I would come back, for sure. I highly recommend it if you're nearby.

Finally came back to the Haam and I'm so glad we did! We shared the creamy korokke (Japanese croquette), camaron (shrimp) tacos x 3, andthe volcano fiesta. I loved how creamy the croquettes were and quite literally melt in your mouth. The okonomi sauce was the perfect addition. The volcano fiesta came with prawn tempura, avocado, spicy salmon, potato garnish, and chipotle mayo. I loved the tastiness and different textures! Would highly recommend. Finally, the shrimp tacos were also delicious. Service was great as the whole team works together so you can flag anyone down. Did take a while for our food to come out but also because they were very busy. The Haam is one of the best Asian fusion restaurants I've been to hands down!

A solid 4-star sushi place that is decently yummy, reasonably priced and got you thinking: "I might come back here some day" Based on the pictures I had seen, the rolls are huge and yummy which is all true. Food/sushi/fish quality is great as well! We had the lobster rolls, delicious! The only reason it didn't score a 5-star review is because of the crowd they attract. Seats are not comfortable, tightly arranged to seat more customers, and very loud music. These are signs of that this place is for a drinking crowd but not a "sit down and eat comfortably while you catch up with friends" sort of thing. And that is all okay! I might do a food delivery instead for the above reasons but overall very decent sushi place in downtown Toronto.

The Camaron (Shrimp), Baja Fish and Bulgogi Tacos were so tasty! They didn't skim out on the taco fillings as well! I would definitely recommend the Shrimp Taco! Such a great food spot! I was skeptical at first about mexican and japanese combo but the reviews looked promising so i figured why not The elote was so fire! it was easy to eat off the cobb and the seasoning and toopings were on point and so flavorful 10/10 would order again. nothing was left in my teeth which is rare! the squid fried balls were great too and came with the fishy flakes on top. very good and tender! the sushi was also great - salmon and tuna super raw but flavorful and juicy. the spicy mayo was a great edition. came with lots of soy sauce and wasabi just the way i like it - would def recommend def recommending and coming back

This is the last week to try out Summerlicious restaurant in 2023 so don't miss out! The Haam doesn't take reservations in advance but don't let that deter you. We walked in around 5:30pm on a Friday night and was added to a wait list, waited roughly 40 minutes, pretty reasonable and that's considered an early dinner for me anyway! They're a small restaurant, so be prepared to wait. Everything was pretty solid, my favourite was the Lady Bug Roll (the extra crunch from the tortilla chips makes it that much more better and you can taste a bit of the smokiness from the seared tuna) and the Baja Tacos (fried fish that's quite light and with just the right amount of sauce). I only didn't like the taste of the shrimp in the ceviche, so I'd suggest going with the other options instead.

Whoever came up with the combination of mexican cuisine with sushi deserves several Michelin stars. More specifically the Teriyaki chicken tacos were phenomenal. So good in fact my friend ordered a second after our original meal. The sushi was wonderful as well but we both got pretty simple rolls so I won't speak as much on that. With that said from what I can see at the tables around us everyone was LOVING the sushi just as much. The service is very quick so you won't be hungry for long. This is the perfect spot for date night as the lights are nice and dark. Highly recommend!!

WOW. My husband and I are in Toronto for a long weekend getaway. We were so impressed by The Haam. The food was out of this world, the ambiance was cozy and moody (love their lighting and their decor), and the service was beyond my expectations for attentive and kind. Things we tried: - Creamy Korokke: Absolutely delicious. They are good standalone, but I personally preferred them with the poblano cream sauce. The outer fried shell was dainty but still crispy. - Elote: Well cooked with a nice crunch, and seasoned nicely with all the flavors: sweet, sour, spicy, and savory. There's no dignified way to eat corn on the cob, so we had napkins handy to catch the juice running down our chin lol. - Monstruo Taco My favorite between the two tacos. The blue corn tortilla is a nice touch. Perfectly fried, not overly sauced, and the sprinkle of queso fresco was the cherry on top. - Fish Taco My husband's favorite between the two tacos. Fresh, zesty, and bright. Honestly it has now become the standard for what we would expect a fish taco to be! - Volcano Fiesta Roll Definitely on the bigger side, so it had the tendency to fall apart, but the flavor was excellent and the presentation was beautiful. The potato crispies on top were amazing. Honestly, in spite of the sushi bites being a bit large, overall this roll is melt-in-your-mouth. - Yuzu Soda Mocktail It can be hard for an expecting momma to find a good mocktail that scratches the itch. This one did. Bubbly & refreshing, not too sweet, LOVED the infusions and the mint leaves / yuzu rinds included.

Small intimate sushi and taco spot on Adelaide! Came on a weekend evening with my boyfriend and waited about twenty minutes for a table. The ambiance inside was dimly lit with fake candles and light decor all around the place. The food honestly was so great. I decided to get the beef Barbacoa tacos on a crispy shell, while my boyfriend got the chicken tacos on a soft shell. We also shared some salmon torched sushi and felt it was a perfect portion for a meal. Sushi was so good and tasty, while their tacos were so flavourful and also really loved their crispy shell (I normally don't get hard tacos but this was really good). Definitely will be back to try more on their menu!!

First time to try this restaurant. The Haam serves a fusion of Japanese and Mexican food and flavours. Went here for a birthday dinner during Summerlicious. There is no reservation, only walk-in. Came here on a Friday evening around 530pm. Put our name on the list and we're told it would be a 50 mins wait. They would call when the table is ready. We received the call after 30 mins. Lots of places to see around the area as it's near Queen St. so if you have to wait you can walk around. For appetizers we ordered 3 different ceviches-shrimp and scallop, tuna and salmon, which came with tortilla chips. All of it was sooo good. For the main dishes we ordered: 2 orders of 8 pieces of rolls plus 2 soft shell crab tacos, and 2 gochujang barbacoa beef tacos, salmon teriyaki and carnitas tacos, and beef teriyaki and fish tacos. You choose the type of rolls you want as well as the tacos. The rolls were huge! There are multiple options for the rolls. I had the fish tacos which was the best fish taco I've ever had, even better than the one I had in Cancun! The beef teriyaki was a bit tough, and the sauce had a buttery flavour. I wasn't too much of a fan. Desserts were good but my favourite was the Dorayaki. It's like a fluffy pancake with a cream cheese filling topped with white and milk chocolate. It was a nice treat to end the delicious meal. It was $35 per person for the summerlicious dinner menu. Worth the price.

4.5 Looks unassuming but really great spot. Was getting busy on a Thursday night - glad I got there and was seated right away. They have an extensive menu with lots of great things. Got 4 dishes to share with my friend (wasabi aioli fries, tuna ceviche, pressed salmon, and volcano roll). The tacos looked good too from nearby tables. Ceviche was definitely a star. Food was prepared promptly. Quality was fresh. Service was friendly. Came to be about $50 plus tax and tip and was very full after. Good spot!

We walked into this restaurant for dinner and were lucky to be seated immediately at the 1 table that was available. The restaurant remained busy the entire time. The atmosphere is relaxed, the decor is nice and it was very loud. The food is supposed to be "Japanese inspired Mexican cuisine" and it did appear to be a Japanese/Mexican/Korean fusion restaurant. The food came out in a timely manner, but it was just alright for the price. My favourite dish was the jalapeño sambal karaage ($16). The chicken was moist and the salsa was tasty. We ordered the Tuna Tataki ($16) and 3 bulgogi beef tacos ($19) which were alright. The lobster grande roll ($22) was a bit underwhelming, but the volcano fiesta roll ($17) was good. Our party of 3 was pleasantly surprised that we were full by the end of our meal. It should be noted that there is a very, very steep set of stairs you'll need to take to access the washroom.

Great fusion Japanese-Mexican restaurant. A friend and I went on a Wednesday evening. Luckily got a table before their dinner rush. Tables are closeby each other so prepare to be cozy with strangers. We shared two types of sushi and had 2 tacos each which was quite fulling. Highly recommend.

Came here on a Tuesday evening and managed to grab a table before a line started growing outside. The inside is a cozy vibe but also a bit stuffy with tables being close to each other and a narrow path for servers. Service was attentive, efficient and friendly. We tried the Tokyo Rose and Yuzu Totoro cocktails which were both nice. The takoyaki which had a touch of Mexican fusion using poblano cream was super hot and fresh, but the poblano cream wasn't noticeable at all. The Queen Roll was nicely torched and flavourful but a bit heavy on the sauce. It wasn't rolled very tightly so some pieces fell apart when picked up. We tried a few different tacos: Gochujang barbacoa, Bulgogi and the Monstruo (soft shell crab). While everything tasted good, I think they could be better balanced with a bit more spice in the barbacoa, more acidity in the soft shell crab, and a bit more savoury elements in the bulgogi. In general it leans towards East Asian flavours rather than Mexican but still worth visiting.

I came here on a Tuesday evening and the place was packed. It's not a huge space, and seating is quite tight. They don't take reservations but we were lucky to be seated within minutes. I had the cranberry lychee tonic which was delicious! I also got the soft shell crab roll which was really good as well. Their speciality rolls are around $17-22 price range. I think this place is a Mexican x Japanese fusion but I found the roll similar to other Japanese fusion restaurants I have been to. My friend said their tacos are really good, so I will definitely try thy next time.

One of my favourite restaurants in the city! They have the best tacos and sushi! It's a must try!! Plus their menus are super cute when you dine in!

Came for a Friday night dinner. It wasn't too hat I was expecting. The atmosphere was nice. Decor was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Service was great. The food was.... Meh.. I was really disappointed with the lobster grande roll as it was the one item I was really looking forward to but it was just ... blah. Not some much lobster but more of the crab meat was in it all crab meat. I want to say false advertising lol. Everything else was alright.

A little hidden Gem went here after a baseball game and were so pleasantly impressed ! Customer service was excellent too ! Would definitely come back

Came here on an evening with my 3 other girls (total group of 4) before lockdown (round 2). We had a seat around 9pm, with a short wait at the front. It was such a cute lovely, cool, vibe atmosphere. When you enter this place there are many things to look at on the walls, so cute and interesting. The food! Let me get started, we ordered as a group and shared various entrees including The spider amarillo roll, red dragon roll, bulgogi tacos, aburi sushi sample, and the chirash don. - My favourite??!! To be honest, everything was great, I can't even choose. Each and every dish had unique flavors, interesting textures, and a very hearty taste to each. You can tell right away that they do take the time to ensure that their food taste amazing. Sushi was well proportioned, large enough to share, and tasty!! Tacos were so rich and flavourful. Sushi kits were fresh. Overall, I would highly recommend it. (As you could have already guessed by my 5 stars! :p)

Came here on the first night that restaurants reopened with no capacity restrictions and it was packed. Definitely come early because this place is popular! It's sort of cramped indoors with the aisle down the middle being hard to get through since there's chairs on both sides especially when it's a full house. We got the shrimp and scallop ceviche which I would pass on next time. It was average. I think where they shine is their special rolls and tacos. It's a Mexican Japanese fusion place so don't expect a proper Baja fish taco. I was surprised to taste kimchi in my fish taco but it worked. My friend got the soft shell crab taco and the crab was gigantic. We shared the butterfly roll and I loved the seared salmon on top of the sushi. Very flavourful.

Great vibes and they have drink specials during the week. There's also 15% off of you get takeout with cash. It's lively here and service is decent. The food is great and I enjoyed the speciality rolls. Glad this is located in the heart of entertainment district as there's no Korean bars nearby

So first off, I can't give Five stars because of one minor but major issue. So let's do this the fun way The bad I find it kind of strange whenever I go to a restaurant and it doesn't accept reservations. It gives the vibe that you're not really interested in people planning to come see you, especially when you look into Toronto's main attraction when it comes to food this place is named, so it is mind boggling to me that they wouldn't be prepared for tourist or people from out of town who want to make plans to come eat. Here is a very simple concept , I'll break it down half your room is dedicated to reservations. The other half is not this place is small admittedly but they make use of the space people who are 15 minutes late. Get bumped on the list at no point did I see a reason for them not to have reservations, especially when they are by local bars in the area that people can wait for their tables, but just having to go off of a random list in the corner kinda made it difficult for me to overlook. People who plan shouldn't be punished for trying to plan. Also, they give people a one hour time limit to eat with 30 minutes of grace so mathematically, you could definitely figure out a way of doing this, especially since you introduced this variable. The good It was worth the wait. The food was actually good to my surprise a fusion of tacos and sushi. Actually works. I was very concerned since I lived in Texas and SoCal for a long time (I know it's not authentic but it's the best an American could do) I knew what good tacos tasted like. I knew what sushi should taste like and to my surprise they did good. they bring the food out fast and you can hawk down anybody in the room to help you get some thing it's a cozy environment but it's definitely more sushi than tacos. I ordered the spread, one of each taco a basic Cali roll, their most expensive lobster roll and a few filler rolls. everything tasted all right but everything wasn't perfect. Needless to say I'm happy I did this but my advice to anyone is to use the tacos as the appetizers and the sushi as the main dish definitely go for the chicken, shrimp and beef tacos. The truth They are more sushi than they are taco, but the sushi rolls were not tight. Almost every sushi roll broke on impact the tacos, are a valiant effort, but we're more sauce than meat. The crab taco had so much toppings on it. I couldn't tell if there was any meat inside? Also, maybe my mind missed it or didn't see it but it looks like they don't have lettuce tomatoes cheese jalapeño peppers nothing of the sort in those tacos The best way I could put it it felt like I was eating sushi wrapped in a taco shell. This wasn't bad and by no means do I think their take on this will not satisfy. I ordered 6 tacos and ate all of them so the proof is in the pudding But there was a part of me that felt presentation was lacking. I ordered 4 sushi rolls. They came out on three separate plates. Why they weren't put them on one plate to save me space is baffling same thing goes for the tacos. They brought the tacos out 2 x 2 even though a plate could hold all 6. I just was expecting a little bit more attention to detail. I had no problem with this place I guess when I was told from the get-go, I would have to come in after battling with 20 minutes of traffic to put my name on the list then wait outside in the rain for another 30 minutes, it made me feel petty and made me pay attention to things that I probably would've ignored if I had a pleasant start. Needless to say I'll be back, but definitely when they're not busy. The verdict If you want great sushi go to a sushi place If you want great tacos never go to Taco Bell If you want good tacos and sushi come here
