Great and peaceful experience to be in the wild. The tree top walk was the main highlight of the place as you can see stunning views of the city and the sea (as far as Langkawi)! I entered the park after 6.30pm so its mandatory to get ticket with the tour guide add-on. After sunset, the tour guide would gather the people in the park and bring them to walk in the dark. They will carry strong torch lights to spot insects and animals along the way.

This is definitely my favourite place at Penang Hill, especially during a hot day where it is usually nice and chilly on the hill. This natural reserve has a diverse amount of fauna and flora, including plenty of the famous dusky leaf monkey. I really enjoyed the information boards explaining how facilities at the hill top were used during the colonial period as well as future plans for development and conservation.

We spent half a day here, took our time strolling along the trail. Suitable for kids too. We bought the entry tickets online, slightly cheaper if taking family combo of 2 adults & 2 children. To go to The Habitat, you can use the Penang Hill funicular train. [Tips: get the express lane tickets for Penang Hill funicular train (online/walk-in). If walk-in, bring IC of all passengers to the counter - tell the guards you want to buy express lane tickets, so you can cut the queue and go straight to the express lane counter] When you reach the top, follow the signage to The Habitat. The entrance is behind the Stable Cafe. You may add on guide by naturalist to enhance experience but based on availability or you may book for a private tour (2 days in advance). When we were there, guide was not available so we explored the trail on our own. Get the trail map at the counter to help find checkpoints & photo spots :) to make it fun (for kids or even adult) get the postcard at the ticketing counter and stamp the postcards at the checkpoints - a great memorabilia. We made sure we stopped at all the info signages so the kids can read the info. Trail is shady, cool and wifi is provided  (check your tickets for the password). Kids had fun walking & taking photos at the canopy walk & tree top walk. At the end of the trail, we made our way downhill to the funicular station by foot (1.2 km). You may also take buggy if you are too tired from exploring the trail.

Really enjoyed the walk here — the jungle environment is so calming and refreshing. We even spotted a giant squirrel and some monkeys along the way! The paths are very clean and well-maintained, making the walk relaxing and enjoyable. Just a small reminder to be cautious around the monkeys. Overall, a lovely place to enjoy nature!

Loved it - If I could give Habitat a 6th star I would- absolutely loved this place. I love trees, nature, forest bathing, etc. - so Habitat is great for us. Loved the sky-walk from both a highly visual experience of walking at tree 🌳 top level but also from a sheer engineering feature perspective. Great also to meet Andrew S and habitat team and understandit better. We also loved the pathway as this takes you out of treetop s abd brinngs closer to the rich flora and fauna. Great coffee and good quality merchandise at the store. Recommendation - get straight off the Funicular and go to Habitat. Loved 😍 it. Comhghairdeas 💚 agus Tog go bog e 💚

The temperature up on Penang hill is so nice. A cool breeze comes across and ensures the heat of the day disappears. A big tip is to go as early as you possibly can, we went at 6.30am and didn’t have to wait too long to get the train. If you go around 11am expect 1 1/2 hour wait, in a very stuffy and uncomfortable departure hall. Early in the morning means you get to see the sunrise which is beautiful.

Wonderful experience throughout. The park is well kept, the view is stunning, signages are easy to follow. I love it how they are not overly commercialised, the gift shop carries good options, and the cafe items are reasonable. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. They have water dispensers dotted around the park, which I very much appreciate. We’ve got tonnes of great pictures. And icing on the cake is that there is buy 1 feee 1 promotion on Sundays through Sept - Oct!

My mom and I had an absolutely wonderful experience at The Habitat. For those wondering if this canopy walk (and tour) is worth it on an extremely foggy morning, the answer is yes. It's absolutely worth it. We caught a short glimpse of what the views might have looked like on a clear day, but honestly, the fogginess made us feel like we were touring a magical place in the clouds. The guided tour is a marginal additional price and a must get. Kai, our tour guide, studied ecology at the University of Malaysia, and made our tour both educational and hilarious. I learned a lot from him, and I bet most people would. This is probably one of the most unique experiences you can have in Penang, if you're interested in animals (we saw monkeys so very up close, vampire crabs, and snails; and we heard some extremely vocal local frogs) or flora/fauna. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Highly UNDERRATED!!! MUST GO if you go to PENANG HILL! RMD 60 It's about an hour long trek walk. We got to see a bunch of animals on our walk including the long tailed macaque monkey, malysian squirrels, geckos, and butterflies! We got to see the plant touch me not as well!!! They close up if you touch them. Great attraction at Penang Hill that allows u to experience nature and see the great city scape at their super tall stair structure thing.

Yelp
Surprisingly nice park. Great scenery. Decent infrastructure, that facilitate nice sight lines into the forest. Quite a few people on trails so unlikely to see animals. A place to check out if in area.

Yelp
I believe this is the highest point on Penang Island and it has excellent views on a clear day. The temperature can also be really nice up that high. That being said, it takes a bit of work to get to, as you have to take the tram or hike to the top of Penang Hill to get to the entrance. Tram lines can be painfully long on weekends, and off days or fast passes are recommended. The Habitat itself is a bit expensive for Penang, and then you have to add the price of the tram as well. I've only been once and it was in the afternoon. I think this is the worst time to go in terms of animal viewings. We saw dusky leaf monkeys, which are adorable, but you can see those on top of Penang Hill without the entrance fee for the Habitat. If I went again I would go on a clear day for the sunset walk. Now if only there was a good place for dinner on Penang Hill for after the excursion.

Yelp
Today we spend hours visiting the Habitat. Luckily not many other were in the park, so we got a lot of quiet and hence got to see a lot of animals. But surely more people should go, it's a rare experience to be so immersed into the jungle while at the same time being so well-managed, even if your are self-guiding. There are lots of comprehensive signs on the path, telling the story of the Hill Station and the Habitat, but also about the animals you might see. Also a lot of park attendants and they love what they do. You can see it radiating from them and you can hear it when they talk about the park. You can ask them about the park - we did, and learned that it's four years old, that park management are cooperating with UNESCO in establishing a bio preserve, that the storm in november 2017 eroded big areas that now are being rehabitated with indiginous species, that the paved roads are originally 200 years old and build by the British who were spending time in the hill station, waiting months for the wind to change and the ship to sail. While we were in the park, the rain came. A lot of it. And suddenly one of the nice park attendants were approaching us on a bike on the path. She carried a bunch of umbrellas for the visitors, and that really saved our visit from drowning. So thoughtful! There is a shop in one end of the trail and a small but nice cafe at the trailhead. Tickets are for sale at site, but we bought ours at the Habitat cafe at the Penang Hill lower station, before taking the funicular to the top.
