Just like the Halal carts in NYC, the service here is fast and efficient. The mixed combo (chicken and beef gyro) is always flavorful and hits the spot.

Google
One of the worst locations. They discriminate. It was my 2nd time at this location and they gave me small quantity of everything. If you speak Spanish, you get the real food. That was what i saw while sitting for an hour and observing. Do NOT GO to this Location.

Google
There are a ton of Halal Guys in this city, but this location and the Pearland outpaces the other ones. The food here is always fresh and delicious. You don’t get dried or crystallized rice. The lettuce and tomato retain its vibrant fresh color. The meats are also seasoned well. I love that everything here is hot. I love their chicken wings as well. Nicely battered, crispy, crunchy with a juicy finish. It’s always my favorite thing to add with the regular platter. The parking lot can be insane during busy lunch rushes and dinner. It’s well worth the visit. Did I mention that restroom out back is really clean?!

It is my coworker's birthday today and the office ordered lunch from here. It was a fairly large order and it is expected that issues could arise due to the sheer amount of different orders that were involved. However, everything arrived perfectly. The food was on time, still hot and fresh. It was a great experience for a special occasion. All of us appreciated the hard work into making the food and making sure it was all correct. I can't wait to order from them again in the future.

Google
I tried their wings for the first time and they were incredible — perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The seasoning was spot on and they paired perfectly with their signature sauces. Definitely my new go-to order!

I think I may have just found my staple halal place! Although this restaurant is stationed like a grab n go, there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! I love that it’s handicap accessible and kid friendly. The interior is designed tastefully and outgoing wall art bright bubbly colors and artfully crafted seating tables. The food!!! Don’t get me started on the food! Marinated overnight, you tasted some of the juiciest chicken and beef over top of perfected cooked rice! They will ask you if you want spice, sauces, and bbq sauce! You will say yes to all of these! Sit back, eat, relax and enjoy the wonderful flavors of roasted peppercorn, and a variety of spices! The staff was very helpful and actually recommended that I get the combination plate with all the fixings and toppings. They were not wrong!

First time visiting this restaurant. Parking is ample. Access is fairly easy of your coming from the Shepherd side. Received a friendly welcome. Took the special, a Platter with three items: beef, rice and lettuce and tomato, a small scoop of hummus and three little pita triangles. $9.99 and the quantity was good. Verdict: The food is delicious. It tastes clean, without added funky seasonings. I have a very sensitive stomach, and it was perfectly happy afterwards, as the food didn't cause any discomfort. Bottle drinks are pricey. Pet peeve: There is an outside toilet. I was at the restaurant about 40 minutes. I tried to use it several times, and the door was always locked. I knocked no answer. I think management should install a second toilet or at least check on the person (anything can happen). I will eat again at the Halal Guys as I found the food delicious.

Yelp
This is such a solid spot if you are wanting some gryo/falafel. I have been multiple times and it always satisfies my cravings. I got the combo platter with gyro and chicken, rice , lettuce, tomatos, bell pepper, white sauce (which is like a garlic cream sauce), and 3 lines of their spicy red sauce. Do not underestimate how spicy this sauce is! As someone who loves spice, 3 lines is enough for me. I also got some of their spicy hummus which was pretty hot too. (7.5/10) Overall, the food is flavorful and fulling. You definitely get a lot of food for the price and the quality is consistent across locations in my experience. There is some seating inside the restaurant and a few outdoor tables. It is definitely suited for smaller parties. Parking is easy as they have a lot right in front of the restaurant. They also have amy's ice cream across the street if you are craving a sweet treat!

Yelp
Has Halal Guys been bought out by private equity? Usually when private equity buys companies, the quality just plummets. Just seems like the quality of meats has gone down since they first opened. I can also taste that the white sauce has gotten saltier and the red/hot sauce is not as hot anymore. I guess in these tariff times, quality and costs have to be cut somewhere. I want to go back to the original cart in NY and see if their quality has gone down as well and if the quality has gone down as a whole.

Yelp
I got the beef small platter and the food was delicious. The vegetables were fresh and the meat was tasty. I did feel like the serving portion was smaller than the other locations. I only got three slices of naan which I don't think is normal and the tomato portions were tiny so we had to ask for a little more. They had outside seating right next to the store in a small tent like set up. The outdoor area was very hot and not air conditioned. I would recommend stopping by for take out.

Yelp
Always great fresh food made all the time. Service is quick and the ambiance is chill usually not a lot of people sitting inside . Always highly recommend to try this place it's great .

Yelp
Would def recommend especially for a late night meal. Good portions for the price. Spicy chicken had great flavor along with the meat and rice. The sauces were very tasty but be warned they have decent heat. Food was ready very quickly and the staff friendly.

Yelp
The Halal Guys has always been one of my go to spots for when I'm craving Halal food. It is super simple, but also super satisfying at the same time. The meats are very tender. The flavor of everything combined is very comforting. It's a good and healthy(I think) option!

Yelp
Came in on a Friday night place was packed but like goes super fast. Basically a chipotle style place for Mediterranean bowls. Food 3.5/5: got the combo bowl, fairly tasty bowl although could use some variety in texture Ambiance 2/5: pretty dingy inside, Service 4/5: very fast preparing food, friendly, not much actual "service" but I bumped the score up for how convenient the place is Value 4/5: bowls look pretty big but a large part of it is just lettuce leaves. Still, a fair price for what you're getting Overall 3.4/5: ok food that's convenient with decent price Parking: parking lot to the side of the building

Yelp
One of my favorite places to enjoy Halal food! I drive by when I'm in the area and usually stop in because service is great- everyone is super friendly and cheerful! I recently cut carbs and was happy to find out that they could make me a salad bowl instead of the rice bowl! Everything I love in it like the gyro and veggies and white and spicy sauce! I'm a huge spice lover so getting my usual 6 lines is nothing short of delicious! Always will continue to be a customer to this location whenever I can!
google avatar

JJ J.

Yelp
Middle eastern chipotle. Love their spicy sauce, always go ham on it. Gyro meat is full of flavor and super tender, falafel is where it's at tho, crisp outside fluffy inside, love this place!

Yelp
Placed a large catering order. No one called or contacted me at the designated order time. Called their number, after multiple rings, the answering machine picks up then you are told the mailbox is full and can't leave a message. Terrible service. Extremely unprofessional.

Jack Burton M.

Yelp
I have never had a worse experience at a restaurant in my life than your store on Farnhan- none more disappointing, none more dissatisfied and disappointing. The portion were HALF normal - including falafel (? Really?) I was a fan of your restaurant, and a patron, for a long time. This experience was disappointing to the point that I'm done. Everyone should be fired; from the phone, to the kitchen, to the MOD.
google avatar

Yelp
Been a while since I had a gyro so decided to pop in for one. Didn't bother with the app this time. Gyro was good and service was fast. Guy in front of me kept flirting with the staff which was annoying because it was holding up the line but the staff seemed to enjoy his compliments about their physical appearance.

Yelp
The food tasted fine/consistent, but based on the reviews it appeared this location was known to cheat customers on portion sizes. I decided to press my luck and, YES, could confirm. I'd been to other Halal Guys branches nationwide--including the NY original--and all provided plates full to the top (NOT padded by vegetables). But this specific location gave me one with a quarter inch of emptiness to the lid, without much meat/rice but plenty lettuce.
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
Wandered through here recently to grab lunch, and wanted to adjust my score. The staff here are prompt, and friendly. Never left waiting, and the food is consistent. I'm still a GK diehard, but these guys rock if you're in the area and need a quick bite to eat.
google avatar

Adi D.

Yelp
My overall assessment, as a foodie, of this place after giving it multiple tries is about average (3-star rating). It's a fast food place. Their chicken and beef are ok. Their falafel is below average. If you're in a rush and you need a quick fast bite then this place maybe ok once in a great while. I cannot eat there couple of times a week. Other restaurants I cannot eat. This is how I determine the rating of a restaurant when I write a review especially when it comes to fast food. For example, I can eat at Chic-fil-A multiple times a week because their menu is large and their food is truly delicious. Hope this helps.

Yelp
Went here to grab food to take back to the hotel. It was good but not as good as the other locations I've been to. It could be possible that I took it togo. I'd go back to try again.

Yelp
This location had the friendliest workers and super fast service. The inside is not very large with just a few tables and we took our order to go. The regular platter is a great deal and a generous enough portion to cover two small meals. I enjoyed it very much!
google avatar

Jeff N.

Yelp
Place is very small with just a couple tables but I think a lot of people may get to go orders.. Plenty of parking as there is closed business next door. Plenty of staff and quick service.. You either get a Gyro or have the ingredients put into a round tin small or large size. Small is plenty for the average person, if very hungry fry the large... When ordering I give you a heads up because they are a bit heavy handed on the sauces...so if you don't want to much or want to put exact amounts ask for all sauces on the side and they give you packets for the white and hot sauce. If you do let them add while making be sure to tell them just a little for the white sauce and for the hot sauce (it is very hot) tell them 1 line.. They also have chicken option also if you don't want gyro meat... I ordered a gyro and it was delicious and I will return for sure..

Yelp
I love their food and the flavors. This location is pretty small. There weren't many people in there yet it was super loud! I felt rushed also. I love that they dropped my fries in the fryer fresh, but was then disappointed that I was charged for toppings (olives and hummus. Even though pita bread is included in the meal) Parking spaces are limited unless you park in the adjacent lot after their normal business hours. Overran it was good this is just not my preferred location.
google avatar

Keevin L.

Yelp
Love this location. Service and food are excellent and that rice is wonderful. You can tell they make it fresh throughout the day. Just be careful of that red (hot) sauce - it packs a punch!
google avatar

Yelp
Their chicken gyro sandwich always hits the spot. It's light and fills me up. You order your food like you order a sandwich in Subway. The staff is friendly and quick. Indoor seating is perfect for couples/small groups. They also have outdoor seating, but there's no fans to cool you down. There's plenty of parking. The limited time Baklava Cheesecake was disappointing. It shouldn't be labeled as a cheesecake even - there was no crust or cheese. The baklava layers on top were soggy.

Yelp
I got there right when they were closing the store, they got my order there and they had my food ready quickly. Their food and their service was great. I really like this place and I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Great late night drunk food. Food is always served quickly, and the portion sizes are amazing.

Rose L.

Yelp
This location was the worst of them all, walked in and it was empty. The serving size of meat was beyond disappointing at this location for me to have gotten a regular size platter. Would have been better off going to cava. Ridiculous to received one scoop of meat on a regular size platter should have been two based on what I have gotten at other locations. No wonder it was empty.

Yelp
I'll start by saying that I am totally open to fast casual food and am a fan of restaurants like Chipotle and Tarka. I have never tried HG before and was hoping it'd be just that -- a reasonably good and affordable version of Middle Eastern food. I have to be honest -- I was somewhat disappointed. I ordered a chicken/beef gyro combo platter. The meat just wasn't that good, in terms of texture and flavor. I also felt super dehydrated all night after eating it. I will say that the beef was better than the chicken. Ultimately, it might be better in a gyro sandwich versus stand alone. Also tried their falafel -- on the hard/dry side. To be fair, it's pretty rare to find great falafel anywhere. My final gripe is that their hot sauce is insanely spicy -- one drop can spoil your entire dish. Be careful when applying! I'll give them some credit -- the hummus was pretty creamy and tasty. The baklava cheesecake was decent, although it was just dry baklava ingredients loosely piled on top of cheesecake. The cheesecake part was pretty good though. I also appreciate their simple and straightforward online ordering system, as well as the fast preparation. Overall, I'm a bit confused as to the appeal of this place. It's not particularly cheap -- it cost us $35 for two combo platters, hummus, and a dessert. For me, there are just way better restaurants in this area to spend your money at (including fast casual and fast food). Next time I want gyro meat, I'm going back to Niko Niko's.
google avatar

Thomas H.

Yelp
I went in to get a beef gyro and when they asked about sauce I asked for a few spritzes of the red hot sauce. The guy serving gave me this, 'are you sure' look before doing what I asked and giving the bottle a good squeeze. The gyro was indeed quite spicy as desired. 10/10 would struggle here again. Food stayed fresh on the drive home, tasted great, and was made very quickly.

Alireza S.

Yelp
This is not tasty like Middle East food, chicken taste like old chicken, they ask 8.99 for sandwich and each topic they charge extra

Roberto S.

Yelp
I Love this food,Customer service is great, fast, all crew were amazing and so nice,i'll be back for sure!

Yelp
I remember my first time at Halal Guys in NY. There's something about eating lamb over rice on a cold night that feels so comforting. I distinctly remember how crazy spicy the red sauce was. I love spicy food and my spice tolerance is high, but the Halal Guys red sauce was on another level. It was my first time at this location about a month ago. It's a small restaurant but I ordered a couple lamb over rice bowls for take out. It was still so yummy, the portions are pretty generous. I love how the lettuce and tomatoes makes this warm bowl a little more refreshing. I was being conservative with the red sauce but it's not as spicy as I remember, or they've changed the recipe since I had in NY. The pita bread was a little too chewy, maybe because it's been sitting out for awhile. Overall, I like Halal Guys. I've had better but I've also had worst, so it's a 3.8/5 for me.

Sudhir N.

Yelp
My food arrived promptly and the order was accurate and well-packed. I chose halal chicken over rice and lamb over rice. Reminds me of all the times I used to eat at the carts in NYC. This dish is popular for good reason--it's rich with carbs and fats and comes in a generous serving size. Its a little expensive but maybe it's definitely worth it since I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. The halal chicken and lamb over rice were fairly standard. They cost more than what you'd find at halal carts, but the portions of meat and rice were substantial. However, they were quite stingy with the sauce and charged extra for more, unlike when I lived in NYC and the carts include it for free. I really miss the carts
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
Love this place. But they recently cancelled my online order multiple times without explanation. Will definitely look elsewhere in the future. Unreliable.
google avatar

Yelp
One of those places that Is SO GREAT!!! ....that I forget checking in, forget pictures, forget review! Well not Today! A $9.00 "small" mixed chicken and beef Halal bowl, no rice, more lettuce, add olives $0.50, and hummus $1.50. Served with pita and a white dressing sauce plus a spicy red sauce If you want the red Hot pepper sauce you order "stripes." I order Three Stripes. (Medium hot). Service is always super fast and friendly!
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
Brought my wife to Halal Guys and it wasn't quite as good as my previous visit. 3 stars. Wifey got the falafel plate, they were good. I had the chicken and beef gyro combo, it was good. Both plates came with rice, lettuce, tomato and pita bread. Anything else is and extra charge. 30 plus dollars for fast food is too much. This location has two inside tables and some more on the outside.
google avatar

Brad C.

Yelp
Something bad has changed with this franchise. I previously gave this business a positive rating but am now changing it to a 1 star. Trying for compare this location to those in NYC is like comparing apples and oranges. I paid almost $12 for this plate of garbage. The rice and tomato was the only thing edible. The falafel looks and tastes nothing like it did just 2 years ago and has shrunk in size. I bit into one and it was so over cooked in the grease, it was rock solid and almost injured my mouth trying to eat it. I took 3 bites and threw it in the garbage. Between the price increases and decrease in quality, I won't be back. There are other halal food places within the city that are cheaper and much better quality.
google avatar

Vanessa J.

Yelp
Hello, my name is Vanessa. The food from Halal Guys was very delicious. The workers are very fast. Nayeli Felipe, even though it is a little busy, they were fast. Daniel is very kind and explains everything. Congratulations to the chef, the food is delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
I was greeted by staff as soon as I entered. Everyone was polite and got me through the line efficiently. Sat outside enjoying this nice 60 degree weather. The consistency of the food is on point. I've never had a bad meal here.

Jim B.

Yelp
Tha food is really good from here. Good portion size 10/10. Nice staff, and i love that they're open late

Robert H.

Yelp
Food is always good but i noticed something odd in my food. I hope i did not consume one of these without noticing.
google avatar

Reema G.

Yelp
This place is my guilty pleasure. It reminds me of my home country's food. I love ordering this for takeout and eating it while watching a movie. The rice here is amazing along with the white sauce, and basically everything else. I highly recommend. I made my mom obsessed with it too, now she's always asking me when we're going again.
google avatar

Jose Z.

Yelp
Ordered online takeout and just when we started eating at the house, we found a bug in one of the platters. Needless to say we stopped eating the food and called to get a refund. Unfortunately, no one picked up and my phone call was forwarded to a mailbox which was full so couldn't even leave a message via phone. So now I'm still hungry and $20 poorer lol. *Edit: I did hear back through the Google maps business chat feature and am getting a refund. I also received a personal phone call from Carlos, the director managing all Houston Halal Guys, apologizing and explaining that they will investigate further as this has never happened before. I appreciate the good customer service. It's sad because I did very much enjoy your food at past experiences. I hope your quality improves with cleanliness.

Yelp
Being from new York there is nothing like going out on your lunch break in the city and hitting up that truck during lunch rush hours or going after hours after long work day. it's cheap, it's open24 hours the smell from blocks away while walking the midtown streets is an attraction. I'm glad Halal Guys Houston opened up its good to see some things from back home come to area. It's not as cheap as they charge on the cart its a couple bucks more here in the restaurant they are not open 24 hours at all. Houston needs 24hr food places to be opened as the area tends to grow. hopefully halal guys can be one of those places. I enjoy coming here to eat whenever I'm in the area this my go to place, always a falafel or falafel & chicken combination over rice is a must for me. I can say its not the best food but its good food. chicken is always tender good flavors not dry, the falafel is perfectly cooked even though its fried I think its healthy lol. I don't do lamb so I cant tell you anything on that note. I always complement my meal with a side fries and baklava, the crinkle cut fries are good and made to order there's nothing like fresh fries coming out the fryer and the baklava is good nice and flaky good for a sweet tooth after your meal. the service is friendly and the place is small so very limited seating, I would recommend coming after lunch hours or order out is best.
google avatar

Hai N.

Yelp
disappointed. came in pretty close to closing because Yo-yo dogs was closed :(. New york location was amazing on a street corner so I decided to pop up. Meats was pretty dry but edible. Thank god the white sauce was amazing! Service was okay but I had to rush to eat bc they were closing and I could tell they wanted everyone gone. TIPs: Dont forget to realize that the red sauce is extremely spicy. And that's coming from a fella who can eat habeneros and tolerate them fairly well. Go easy on it.l and not crazy covered as I did. They should have reminded me. lol.

Anthony B.

Yelp
Personal favorite of mine when I wasn't something quick and good to eat! Both the platter and gyro are amazing options.
google avatar

Shernell H.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting The Halal Guys. The staff member that helped me was very helpful and patient. She allowed me to sample the chicken and beef and recommended their suggestions for first time guest. I got the chicken gyro sandwich. I wish the sandwich was warm and more flavorful, but, it was just okay. Maybe if I would have gotten the falafel sandwich it would have been everything I envisioned.
google avatar

Ellen C.

Yelp
I didn't try this place until after after the initial fanfare died down because I hate waiting in lines and I mean, really, how amazing could the falafel be??? Now that it's been a few years and I've had the falafel platter several times, okay, I'll give credit where credit is due - The Halal Guys' falafel is pretty flippin' delicious. The falafel platter often takes a little longer than the other meaty options because the kitchen staff has to physically step aside and take the time to fry up the balls of yumminess. And sure, when it's busy, I've had to end up waiting a more extended time - to where my husband has nearly devoured his entire platter and I'm still waiting on mine, but that's what I get for being vegan . . . I guess. The white sauce is NOT vegan, it has dairy, but you can ask for tahini to be drizzled on your falafel platter instead. We've also sampled the fries here and they're not particularly noteworthy, although yes, they were in fact crispy and hot. Seating is extremely limited in the main ordering and cashier area, but there is more seating in the back.

Houston T.

Yelp
Hi, this location always give us small quantity of rice, chicken and beef. I bought 5 gyro last night and when I reac home and open the gyro I was shocked and embarrassed in front of my family because chicken was nothin, this location doing the same thing specially for Togo orders. my review for them is zero. I spent almost 60$ for 5 gyro, this location is worst locatio.
google avatar

Kehmia T.

Yelp
I told myself the next time I'm on this side of town, I must try Halal Guys! I've heard so many good things about this company and wanted to witness it for myself. I came on a Tuesday around lunch time- it wasn't super busy so I was happy about that. Masks are definitely required in the establishment and hand sanitizer is provided. So if you've never been before (like me - first timer here) - the way Halal Guys works is that they make your meal in front of you (best way I can describe this service is like similar to Chipotle. I looked up the menu online so had an idea of what I wanted - if you get easily anxious because you're not a quick decision maker and you know you don't want to hold up the line - i definitely suggest looking it up first. I ordered the combo platter with the gyro beef and chicken and extra white sauce with a side of fries. I'm glad a combo was an option because I can never decide between beef or chicken- and they both taste good here! They have other locations which I'm grateful for because everybody needs to eat here if they get a chance.

Yelp
Halal guys never misses for me. I could put their white sauce on every facet of my life. The chicken platter with everything is me favorite. But the falafel is a win too! As a Native NYer I am happy to see them popping up in Houston
