Had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday with my husband. The environment, food and service by the staff all exceeded our expectations. the environment is top notch. The outdoor has a fantastic garden view. the food is amazing- I highly recommend the paper bag halibut fillet and the mocktail Wicket Cricket. Last but not the least is their service. Our table was serviced by Jo, a very nice and accommodating lady. She was gentle, pleasant and attentive to our needs. She explained the details of the dishes clearly, served our food efficiently, sang the birthday song for me and skillfully took nice phones of me and my husband. Other staff are also thinking ahead for our needs. We first chose to sit outside. The multilingual Zu quickly brought insect repellent for us without us even asking for it. She is also very pleasant with a great sense of humor. Helped us took memorable photos before getting dark. Even when we moved inside, she offered to help with the photos when the house-prepared birthday gelato was served. Ryan is the one who greeted us first, helped us pick table and later supported us moving indoors. He’s also checked in on us making sure we are well taken care of. As you can see, we were warmly welcomed by the team. We will definitely come back!

Very very nice ambience to celebrate special occasions! Friendly staff. Special thanks to John for serving us, singing me a birthday song and a complimentary dessert! Food is really good! Super love the sides here. Portion just nice

We recently celebrated our wedding at The Halia Restaurant (The Villa & Batik Ballroom), and it was truly a memorable experience for us. It was a joy to share this special occasion with our family, relatives, colleagues, and friends. Lydia, who was in charge of events, was patient and helpful throughout the planning process. She consistently went the extra mile to assist us, especially when there were changes to our plans. The food was excellent—many of our guests shared that they thoroughly enjoyed it. A special thank you also goes to John and his team for their outstanding service. We felt very well taken care of throughout the celebration. Overall, we are extremely happy with our experience at The Halia. The team truly exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend this venue for any event, especially weddings.

We have our company dinner at the Halia recently. The atmosphere is super. Booked in a private room and a 4 course meal. We enjoy the space and scenery. Service is attentive but slight mistakes on the server. Food Taste is 3 out of 5. The serve good bread. Soup is average. Salad is huge.. choice of 3 mains most of us chose beef. Salad taste is acceptable to me but the volume and sauce is not in proportion.. too much of salad as the bowl is huge. Plating should be improve especially for the salad and fish. The white rice should be serve without the topping which to me is horrible. Fish taste relative good which taste like cod fish. The beef plating looks fine. Beef has the thickness and serve medium well and looks good but the taste and sauce should be better. Dessert is excellent and huge portion. Overall I would rate 3 out of 5. Under my expectation. Pro is a Halal restaurant and good space esp for private event.

Haven't been here since 2019! Food was so good and they had a separate kids menu which was super helpful. Great ambience and staff were amazing.

I had an unforgettable dining experience at The Halia Restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was serene and welcoming—nestled in the lush greenery of the Botanic Gardens, it truly felt like a hidden gem. We were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make the evening feel special. Their thoughtful touches and attention to detail truly made the celebration memorable. The service was warm, attentive, and professional. The staff made us feel well taken care of without being intrusive, and their knowledge of the menu was impressive. As for the food—absolutely delicious. Every dish was thoughtfully presented and packed with unique flavors. The signature Halia chili crab pasta was a standout—perfectly spiced and beautifully balanced. The desserts were equally memorable, especially the ginger nougat parfait which offered a lovely twist. Highly recommend The Halia for anyone looking for a peaceful, elegant dining experience with great food, top-notch service, and a beautiful setting—especially for special occasions. We’ll definitely be back!

I had a wonderful dining experience at The Halia in the Botanic Gardens. The grilled focaccia was perfectly crisp and flavorful, a delightful starter that set the tone for the meal. The pan-fried mixed greens were fresh, beautifully seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Beyond the food, the ambience was serene and inviting, making it a perfect spot to unwind surrounded by lush greenery. The service was impeccable—attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for great food in a tranquil setting!

Google
Used to be a good place. Now the food portions are ridiculously small and overpriced. Half a slice of avocado toast for $22. See picture to see how small the portions are. Beef burger was average. Paper straws couldn't even last halfway through the meal as they started breaking apart. They used to provide wooden stirrers, now we are expected to stir with the paper straws. The restaurant used shot glass for the thyme. But shot glass can't even pour the thyme properly into the main cup without spilling. Overall disappointing to see how a once well respected restaurant is now way below average. A pity.

Yelp
The Halim is a lovely restaurant situated within the Singapore Botanical Gardens. Due to its location the scenery makes for a gorgeous backdrop for almost any occasion. There is both indoor and outdoor seating (we chose outdoor) as well. The service is excellent and our servers were very attentive to our group ensuring we had all of our needs met. The food was also served very quickly. The quality and taste of the food was exceptional, and there is a wide enough selection to meet everyone's needs. The only drawback is that it is on the expensive side, but very worth it for the quality and ambiance.

Yelp
Inside the botanic garden and next to the ginger garden and orchid garden. Super nice ambience and vibes. We sat outdoor during lunch and it wasn't hot because of the shade and it's nice overlooking the banana leaves in the garden. Food is flavorful. We got the octopus which was super yummy, the burrata also delicious and refreshing, and slow cooked lamb rack which came with 4 sides and huge portion.

Yelp
One of the most beautiful and relaxing dinner experiences of this trip. I met a friend here and he reserved a table outside. I got to the gardens a little early so that I could walk leisurely through it and was glad that I did. I allowed an hour but could have wondered about longer. We started by splitting the char grilled squid. It was perfectly made and delicious. The addition of pearl cous cous was perfect. Then we split the crab dip with shrimp crackers. We asked for more crackers and they arrived with a smile. It was good. Chili crab spaghetti is a must order, of course. Yes, it is worthy of the hype! Get it! Eat it! Crave it later! We also got the barramundi special which was out of this world delicious. I wish I could get that again or make it at home. Wow! Cocktails were equally delicious. The garden setting was so serene. Lighting low. Cool floor. Service great. I highly recommend this place. It is a little slice of heaven in a bustling city.

Yelp
Beautiful respite from the heat. Ginger infused bites and drinks and amazing desserts! Loved this place. Service was a bit gruff as they are very busy. Things were placed in front of us a bit aggressively but that's how most super touristy places are.

Yelp
Chili crab spaghettini - 3 stars No umami, bit too sweet. I've had better in cafes. Halibut with sesame soy sauce - 2.5 stars Also no umami and the fish tasted like frozen cod - slightly fishy. Sticky toffee pudding - 4.5 stars I hardly order this because it gets jelat fast but this satisfied all my requirements - soft, fluffy, moist and not too sweet (although the sauce was too sweet) with, most importantly, good Marche vanilla ice cream. It doesn't get 5 stars because of the too sweet sauce and because I just don't think I like sticky toffee pudding enough. But this is definitely one to order!

Yelp
Flavorful food in a beautiful setting Located in the Botanic Gardens, Halia offers Western fusion food with local touches e.g. the signature chili crab spagetthni. I like the food here generally and appreciate its more notable / creative take though nothing particularly stood out from a taste-perspective. Don't get me wrong - the dishes are delicious and the combination interesting but just not 5* level.

Yelp
Halia is a nice spot to grab salad and tea after visiting Botanic gardens. Staff and ambient reflect natural beauty through. Love nature to love yourself, experience the full ambience of dining in the gardens by seating outside. Ginger drinks are tasty and hydrating in hot Singapore weather.

Yelp
The Halia is a cozy restaurant nestled within the greenery of the Ginger Gardens at Botanics. The place had a remarkable romantic note to it, with the use of soft lights. Stepping in, I was impressed by chic open kitchen front, decorated simply with a basket of green apples. If you are ever down at the Halia, do order their selection of Oysters done in tempura & ponzu, freshly shucked and baked with baby spinach, pernod, nutmeg & parmesan gratin. For the Oyster fanatics, The Halia uses only the best Coffin Bay Oysters. Oyster done in tempura & ponzu - you get to taste the oyster well-cooked, which adds to a good bite. Very palatable and works with everyone. This was my favourite one! Oyster freshly-shucked - I thought initially thought this oyster was prepared with some sauce. In actual fact, it is so fresh, you even get the salted brininess from the sea, in a perfectly good way. You might want to unabashedly slurp this one up. Oyster with baby spinach, pernod, nutmeg & baked in parmesan gratin - A crowd favourite and a special by the chef. Round off your meal with the Hot Halia Infusion, a house specialty of sun-dried ginger & wild mountain honey from the A La Carte Menu to warm our bellies up after the meal. With medical properties, ginger tea is perfect to sooth the digestive system.

Yelp
I came here while visiting Singapore and to this day I still think about the amazing meal we had here. The botanical gardens are beautiful and going to Halia was the perfect stop in the middle of the gardens to relax and enjoy the scenery. My friend and I ordered multiple items while we were here, you could say we were pretty hungry after walking through the gardens. First, the fresh juices in Singapore are incredible and Halia was no exception. We ordered the goat cheese dip (OMG) and hummus dip to start. both were incredible. Both were delicious choices for an appetizer. We also split the chili crab spaghetti which was equally amazing. Chili and spaghetti is a common dinner in my hometown so it was very interesting to have a different take on this and the chili crab added an extra flare. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant, I would highly recommend anyone coming to Singapore to come here.

Yelp
Another great restaurant that falls victim To the lockdown. Ordered the Asian glass noodle salad with prawns and smashed avocado on toast. The salad was literally inedible- the frozen prawns looked almost uncooked and a sickly yellow . We returned it. Avocado came from a premix mashup- unattractive and unappetising. I cancelled my order of sago honeydew on the basis of the other two dishes. Ps they did take off my salad from the bill. But I'm not sure I'll b back. Another one bites the dust.

Yelp
Had the chili crab linguine-delicious! Great food after walking the gardens. Highly recommend it for tasty lunch after walking the park.

Yelp
After a walk in Botanic Gardens, I came here with my mom for their high tea that the internet was raving about. Pros: - Easy to get a table quickly as a walk in - Right next to the Orchid garden - great dessert options - good service (depending on your server) Cons: - THEY DON'T HAVE HIGH TEA ANYMORE. I talked to one of the servers about this and she told me they got rid of it a bit ago and haven't updated their online information. It was pretty disappointing, but their banana bread dessert made up for it. It's not your average banana bread - it's an actual piece of bread with pieces of bananas, nuts, ice cream, and caramel drizzle on top. It's really good and you don't feel guilty eating it because you made a long trek through the garden for it. But if you want high tea, don't go there. sadness.

Yelp
Love the ambience. I could sit here all day drinking tea, snacking and read a book. Maybe shiitake mushroom than button mushroom would be a better choice. Good customer service too. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Yelp
Tea (the event) is the best thing that the English have invented. Nothing beats whiling the afternoon away in the garden with buttery and crusty scones, clotted cream and jam. Best place to do it in Singapore? Try The Halia at Singapore Botanic Gardens, a romantic and picturesque restaurant tucked away in in the lush foliage centrally located in town. My frazzled nerves were soothed by the Chilled Halia Infusion, a lightly spiced tea sweetened with honey, while we waited for our tiered tea set to be served. You could pick other teas or brewed coffee as part of your set. I much prefered the chilled version over the hot one that i had during brunch the last time. Always start with the scone when doing tea. It kind of sets the tone for tea (that and you really should eat it when it's hot) and i knew i was in for a great time when i bit into the crusty and dense pastry slathered with chantilly cream and a tinge of orange ginger jam. There's a nice balance of sweet and savory bites in the tea set, which i alternated between. The Gorgonzola and caramelized onion quiche had an absolutely buttery tart with a light blue cheese filling. There's also the poached chicken and smoked paprika finger sandwich and the meh-ish Wagyu beef rendang samosa. The sweet plate consists of the delicious scones, the towering coconut panna cotta with mango, passion fuit and lychee. I quite enjoyed the moist carrot cake with crème cheese icing and certainly wouldn't mind seconds. I was impressed by the Ginger flower macaroon which had quite the perfect candy shell and slightly chewy center. For $28 per individual set, I have to say this is a steal for tea. I'll definitely recommend this for a tea party with the girls! Don't miss out on this lovely tea at The Halia, Singapore Botanic Gardens which is available every weekend and Public Holiday from 3 - 5pm. Reservations are not accepted for brunch and tea service though.

Yelp
Recommended: Potato fries (truffle aioli and piquant mayo) Smashed Avocado on toasted sourdough Poached Egg Truffle Scrambled Eggs The Halia Breakfast Pain Perdu Halia Mint Berry Island Cooler Pros: As you can see, we tried a large variety of dishes. They were all flavorful without being overwhelming, and filling without giving us a food coma. The portions were generous, and the service was courteous and prompt. The atmosphere and surroundings must be mentioned. The gardens are beautiful, and the occasional bird will make a visit. Absolutely beautiful, and a must visit if you are int he area.

Yelp
We had a fantastic dinner at Halia! The chili crab spaghetti was such a creative dish; combining a traditional Singapore dish with pasta. The location was beautiful in the botanical gardens. My dessert was pretty but the flavor was lacking (almost no taste at all). The live music (on a Friday night) added to the atmosphere. I would definitely eat here again!

Yelp
Attracted by the tantalizing brunch pictures on its website, it was slightly disappointing to find out that the trout salmon fillet(not the usual smoke salmon version) topped with poached egg and that velvety hollandaise sauce is no longer available. So we shared a couple of other brunch dishes. Caramelised banana walnut bread, vanilla mascarpone cream, kumquat compote and crushed hazelnuts: This requires 20minutes of waiting time but the taste of the bread (more like a light cake) was warm, moist and fresh so I think the wait is reasonable. The bananas were grilled nicely to give a subtle bitter caramelised flavour. The bread itself is choke full of walnuts which some people who dislike nuts may want to avoid but I guess having some walnuts are still beneficial to the brain The American Like the previous one, the portion is good for sharing. Nothing spectacular but perhaps the only slight flaw is the overcooked poached egg. Not only was the egg yolk fully cooked, the egg white had a sharp tang of white vinegar. warm chocolate pudding white choc sauce(if you can spot) crushed pistachio orange flower ice cream It was strange that they served an ice cream on a hot plate even though the chocolate pudding was supposed to be warm. The ice cream melted rapidly. This pudding is the steamed English version of fa kueh so perhaps the menu should have stated whether it is the creamy custard version or a cake version. The white chocolate sauce is also evidently very very little. Young ginger Nougat frozen parfait with roasted pineapple and spiced pineapple sauce Nougat is not something common on a restaurant's menu and this one is worth trying since it has been the longest running dessert on it's menu according to the waiter. The use of coconut, ginger and pineapple highlights the Asian flavour and it's no wonder a hit especially for tourists. Special brunch item: almond orange cake with citrus sherbet and lemongrass panna cotta Another interesting Asian style dessert whose individual components are well balanced. Sour food lovers will certainly like the tangy sherbet. Service was friendly but the attentiveness can be improved. Nonetheless, it may be a decent dining place to go if you are looking for one that is located in a garden.

Yelp
Located in the middle of the luscious green botanical gardens, Halia has glass windows where its patrons can periodically glance out to enjoy the gorgeous surroundings. 3 of us came here on a Saturday morning, it was rather crowded but we still managed to find a seat pretty easily. I had the poached eggs on brioche, dill hollandaise, roasted brown mushrooms with crisp back bacon ($25) and it was pretty good! There were 2 portions of eggs each on a piece of brioche. My friend has the Pavola with clotted cream ($12) and the plating was just lovely.

Yelp
Really nice food with a comfortable ambience. The meat in the burger is nice quality. The crab spaghetti has no fault. The only complaint is the oysters which my friends say is not the best quality(was from New Zealand). A nice selection of coffees and tea drinks and the service is good. The price is very reasonable considering the location so it's a place I would return. It's good for visiting guests I think.

Yelp
I have been here for hight tea. SGD28 for per one.my friends and I think little expensive. The high tea include five cookies and five snacks. We reserve a table outdoor there is beautiful view that is awesome. You should try it and must choice outdoor.

Yelp
The atmosphere was super nice. Not loud yet comforting enough for big groups and conversation. Food was awesome (I had the halibut). For the chili crab dishes, its more of a tomato-based sauce with a bit of chili crab taste. I love ginger but thought their specialty ginger drinks were so-so.

Azira A.

Yelp
Halia is one of my favourite restaurants because it gives me the warm and fuzzies. Definitely one of the best places my fiance and I have been to on those rare special occasion date nights. It's the whole experience of walking through botanic gardens to get to the ginger garden and then dine at halia and then walking back out amidst all the lush greenery that you don't get very much in singapore. The service is also fantastic, they address you by your name if they've learnt it from your reservation. And once when my fiance ordered a fish dish wrapped in baking paper, the chef actually took the effort to come to our table and explain how to best eat the dish! One of the most memorable food I had here was the lavender creme brulee. It was the best brulee I've ever had, not overly sweet, melts in your mouth and fragrantly enchanting. Unfortunately, that was a special during a special occasion season (christmas if I'm not wrong) so its not on their regular menu though I wish it was! Their ginger drinks concoctions are also very refreshing, it's a must-order each time we patronize the place. But of course, you must love ginger the way I do! Final verdict: The place to impress the socks off your date - but he/she must enjoy taking a nice stroll in the park first!

Yelp
Great place for brunch. Take a weekend, spend a morning in the botanics amongst nature and then dive into delectable brunch in the middle of ginger gardens. Halia has a good menu with the works on brunch. The classics like benedict and truffle scramble. If you have carb-points that you can spare, go for the bread basket. Great for sharing. Their desserts are localized and small in portions but good enough to last you for a while. So go hungry and feast.

Maggie L.

Yelp
Halia's chili crab spaghettini is a good mix of local and European fusion . Definitely a good try of local flavors !

Yelp
I went to Halia over the weekend for Brunch. The food was very good but the real prize here is the setting. You can dine amoung lush tropical plants and then continue walking around Singapore's stunning Botanical Gardens. The prices are high (appatizers start around $25) but is still a great place to take a date or a small group of friends for intimate dining.
