The Halston

Very good accommodation. Two bedroom apartment was very nice. Overnight parking not too expensive. Location good. Centre of Carlisle but only 10 minutes, if that from the M6. Dog friendly. No food available on a Monday night but good carry out just across the road. Would use again.

Location: Excellent, especially if you're travelling to Carlisle by train as it's less than 5 minutes walk. They also have purpose parking. Room: I stayed in a standard suite, which was essentially a studio apartment with self catering facilities. No issues with room at all, great value for what you get. Hotel: There was a gym onsite, which I didn't have time to use, but definitely a plus. They also have catering under a restaurant named Penny Blue, which served top tier food. Ended up having breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and left feeling satisfied

We were two guests and stayed midweek, two nights, Wednesday to Friday in a deluxe two bed, two bathroom apartment - room 204. We checked in with Dee on reception/concierge who was super friendly, polite and very helpful, also offering to book us a table for that night in the hotel restaurant, Penny Blue - all the food was amazing - scallops, cheese soufflé, steaks and apple crumble. Attentive and friendly service by Olivia. Our apartment was spacious and beautifully decorated with lots of personal touches. Milk and butter in the fridge, crumpets with preserves. Dualite toaster and kettle with Nespresso coffee pod machine. Full size dishwasher. Two suitcase racks. Wardrobes and drawers - all perfect. Breakfast also in the hotel, this time in Barton’s Yard. Hot coffee, toasted roll with sausage and eggs benedict. Absolutely amazing hotel with polite, helpful and courteous staff. Only one thing to consider is the internet, it is slow/intermittent and does not download particularly well. However, we would still recommend staying at The Halston 100 per cent.

Excellent stay at the Halston, accommodation is exceptional for the price. Prices in bar area very reasonable, staff couldn’t be any more accommodating to make sure you enjoy your stay. Car park operated by the hotel with 20% discount for guests is an added bonus.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, there were a few problems initially as I have a disability and needed a lift to the room which wasn’t available initially. Dee was brilliant and managed to change us to a suitable room without any fuss. Dee also helped us find the hotel disabled parking as we had driven round a few times and couldn’t find it. She was very welcoming and professional and nothing was too much trouble whenever we had a question. Dee is a huge asset to this hotel and would definitely stay again.

Lovely stay, we had one of the townhouse apartments, spotless, comfy beds, all the amenities, and a lovely touch of complementary local crumpets, butter and milk. Penny blue restaurant was lovely too with a complimentary drink for hotel residents and tasty food, would definitely recommend

I visit the Halston most days. It’s a beautiful hotel with an excellent service offering. ||I’ve stayed here multiple times; consistently excellent, beautifully furnished and always striving to improve.||Food is great, service even better. Warm, receptive, friendly, relaxed. Everything taken care of.||What more could you ask for. Well done team!

Lovely place. Great staff. Didn't have food but looked good , smelt fantastic, would definitely be back
