I went here a long time ago (2013) and got this dark green button-up sweater. Sorry for the weird picture. I also got some red and white Nordic-style mittens that are really soft. Both items are still looking great today. I appreciated that they had big sizes for sweaters as I am plus size. That made me a loyal customer for life, as much as I can be while living in the US. I'm going back to Iceland soon and this will be one of my can't-miss places to stop.

A store that sells hand made knitted products made in Iceland. There are sweaters, shawls, scarves, gloves, hats and eben some ornaments made from wool. They also sell yarn and knitting supplies. The prices are within reason for hand crafted items

Visited Iceland during August 2024 for a stopover and purchased three Icelandic sweaters for my parents and myself. The sweaters themselves are a wardrobe piece that I hope to keep forever. Paired with a turtleneck it's perfect for the cold weather and great at keeping me warm but not too hot. Also, the workers at the store in Reykjavik were great. One lady offered to shorten the sleeves of my sweater until we found one that fit better. A sweater is definitely an investment but 10/10 would recommend. Found out about the Handknitting Association of Iceland from Wake Up Reykjavik.

If you want handknit, high quality wool items this is your shop. From sweaters to hats/headbands, felted elves, small knit Christmas ornaments, wool for knitting and more, I enjoyed my visit and spent more than I should have! lol Not sorry!! Between my sister and I we bought two sweaters plus had one on order being custom made for her and smaller items like lava teardrop earrings. They are shipping it to us in the USA as the items are bulky. The women running the shop were quite kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!

A kind employee helped me choose a pattern and yarn because I wanted to learn how to knit a sweater but had no experience. She was very encouraging and helpful in answering all my questions (even though it was close to store closing time and I hadn't realized), and 3 weeks later, I've completed my first lopapeysa. The store also sells completed sweaters and knit items, kits, and souvenirs. Highly recommend visiting!

If you want some items actually made in Iceland with Icelandic wool this is the place to go. They've also got a huge collection of yarn. Plenty of smaller souvenirs as well like magnets and ornaments made with yarn.

Definitely worth a visit! They have so many beautiful hand knit items in the shop. In the back corner they also have a variety of yarn and notions (I picked up some adorable stitch markers and wood buttons made in Iceland!).
