Ever since The Handle Bar opened it never ceases to impress! The service is always consistent, it’s absolute crap!!! They never have enough help to cover the inside bar, and the patio area. Had to order my drinks at the bar. Asked if they had someone covering the patio, and was told by the bartender, “Yes, I’ll be out in a couple minutes to take your order.” 10 minutes later I went in to place my order along with 2 others in our group. One couple ordered a Philly and a kids grilled cheese; everyone got there order except the easiest thing to make. The EFFIN GRILLED CHEESE!!! I asked about it, and was told I could make it myself if I thought I could do it faster…Another 15 minutes it finally comes out!!! Tipped her 3¢, and I’m 99.99% sure she doesn’t even know what that means! Keith, I don’t expect special treatment regardless of the number of $$$’s I’ve spent there over many years, but I do expect a decent level of service!!! You’d think you could fix this after I don’t even know how many years! 🤷🏼🙆🤦 If possible I would give a .25 Star rating… WILL NOT go back.

Great biker bar. Friendly and helpful staff. Red was really nice. Perfect place for a quick bite and a beer. Plus, they have live music on the weekend! Couldn't ask for a better place!

Amarillo, Texas —- The “Handle Bar and Grill” is a “Run-A-Way Bill” Favorite for many reasons. For starters, it’s located on Historic Route 66. Another reason is it’s in a vintage gas station building. Next, it’s an independently owner/operated business - SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL INDEPENDENT BUSINESS! Then there is the food. I know this should be 1st on my list of reasons, but the reasons mentioned 1st got me in the door. The food will get me to return. I like the menu selections, and the Saturday/Sunday only breakfast menu. My tacos were tasty-riffic! The counter/bar seating is always a “Run-A-Way Bill” Favorite seating option. Lots of atmosphere/flair ... the original Texaco sign, nice neons, window-views of Route 66, indoor table seating for folks with pARTy Pals, and then plenty of outdoor seating facing Historic Route 66. “Run-A-Way Bill” was here! .... and will return! 02.04.21

This place is perfect. The picture is the bloody Mary and it was definitely worth the drive over. Service was excellent and the crowd was a good mix. Definitely a regulars type place so if you're in the area I recommend going often and making friends.

Yelp
I'm from out of town and I was looking for a quaint place to enjoy Sunday Brunch. I came across this place on Route 66. A bike friendly bar and grill and I show up in my Cali suv??? We were greeted by a Texan twang, beer slinging waitress. She delivered prompt and efficient service. But, let's talk about the food...delish. the Crispy chicken sandwich was moist accompanied with hand dipped onion rings. I decided to try a local favorite, fried bologna sandwich, it delivered and made me a happy traveler. When you stop by ask for Betty and Caleb, the best chefs!

Yelp
So, in a word (or 3) - NOT family-friendly. Coming thru Amarillo on a family vacay we were looking for a late dinner (8-ish). Handle Bar looked like a fun spot w good food, good reviews. AND with multiple website mentions from the owner of being "family friendly". So we thought, what a great concept - let's check it out! Well, walking in, we see both the outside and the inside plastered with banners showing posterior views of scantily-clad women on bikes. OK, I get it - what did we really expect from a BIKER BAR? And maybe the owner has a different definition of family-friendly? And tho it was several hours before closing, the kitchen had already been closed. Granted it was a Monday night. And in the end we probably weren't going to wind up sitting down to dinner with our kids in front of those banners anyway. So that's why 3 stars after a 1-star experience. Based on all the reviews it's quite possible you could have a 5-star experience at this place - but be warned before you take the whole family. Either way we left feeling both disappointed AND fairly misled...

Yelp
Three of us ate there the other day and the burgers were so salty I could barely eat mine. The girl that was with us couldn't eat hers. The waitress didn't seem to concerned and didn't offer to try and do anything. The burgers are usually good, I will probably give them another chance.
