The Hanseatic Hotel

Stayed here on our way to join the Hurtigruten cruise to the Arctic Circle. It was very cold outside and the room was cold and we asked for something to warm us. The young man on reception twice said (in contacting him twice) "there is a heater on the wall", but there wasn't. He lent us a fan heater and brought more blankets so we had a comfortable night but sorry we had to beg to get them. The building is amazing, a mixture of old original and new refurbishment. The older gentleman on reception was very helpful, overall a pleasant experience once the niggles were sorted out. Excellent location.

Historic hotel with plenty of interesting and unique features..Rooms were spacious and had everything provided you would need for a short stay. Great central location in Bergen to explore the surrounding area. Lovely breakfast included, serving both hot and cold food. Warm welcome from the staff, and helpful throughout our stay, sharing some useful local tips for the area. Overall, it was a very nice stay.

Comfortable upgrade to a larger room in the heart of Bergen. Friendly atmosphere in this bespoke niche hotel with authentic features and good service. Breakfast a bit sleepy …. Not great for a vegetarian but then no where in Norway is … we stay no where else on our frequent visits …prices fluctuate depending on demand and many different rooms, so check what you are getting

The attic style rooms on the top floor took some getting used to and the hotel is currently undergoing renovations, so will be curious to see how it comes out. That said, the location is unbeatable, the staff is very friendly and the breakfast far exceeded our expectations. Overall, a charming and positive experience and we had no major issues during out stay

Located in the middle of the city center, we arrived by train from the airport which was easy with a 7min. walk from the station. The room had a special atmosphere in this old building with funny slightly wonky floors and walls. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast choice. We would definitely recommend it.

Realy nice and cozy hotell. Everything is clean and inviting. Comfortable beds. Good and appetizing breakfast. Verry nice and helpfull staff. Short walks to all the city has to offer. The old style mixed with modern comfort. We are definitly coming back. 🙂 🙂

This is a very unusual boutique hotel with interesting rooms that reflect the heritage nature of the building. The location is very central within the harbour precinct of the city and within walking distance of all the city centre attractions. ||The breakfast is also very good.

We were allocated 2nd floor and a family allocated directly above. The noise factor was insane given the wooden floors and we had to contact reception to ask for action.|Our first stay 2 weeks earlier was much better as we were allocated Level 3.|In general the hotel is beautiful, staff efficient & considerate, excellent breakfast, location perfect!
