The Happo by HHG

My stay at the hotel was very pleasant. It was quiet and relaxing. It was the non-peak period and there were not many travelers, I felt like an exclusive guest. I learned that the town really comes alive in mid Dec when the winter ski season begin, and it seems to be a very vibrant place during that time. The room was great though the basin being placed right beside the bed was a bit inconvenient. The shower room is quite compact but guests can use of the public spa. Reception service was excellent, Keito-san was especially impressive with his fluent English. 6 course dinner and set breakfast at Gio Italian restaurant at the hotel were wonderful, with attentive service from the manager of the restaurant Valerio. Overall, it was an excellent experience. The hotel will be closed for a month from mid Nov and will reopen on Dec 15 for the winter season. I believe it will be a lively place with bands and activities once skiing begins, and I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for first-class service during the winter months.

My boyfriend and I had an incredible experience at The Happo Hotel about two weeks ago. The modern chic interior and charming vibe of the hotel was so warm and welcoming. Our room was immaculately clean and spacious enough to scatter out our belongings. Bilingual staff members were very accommodating and flexible (especially with the shuttle service, thank you!) and I really enjoyed the breakfast spread. In particular, the breakfast panini sandwich was my favorite. The drinks at the Club House were also spot-on! Thank you for a great time and we will for sure be back:)

What an incredible hotel and an incredible stay. Check-in was a breeze. They explained everything in detail and had us checked in quickly. Our room was BEAUTIFUL. Spotless, roomy, and with a view out of a large window of the trees and a peek at the mountains. Our bed was MASSIVE and the linens were so comfortable. We had a large couch to sit or put our suitcases and a HUGE desk to lay out all our travel essentials. I cannot boast enough about the bathroom. But suffice it to say that when I woke up at 2am one morning with a migraine and had to sit on the floor of the shower and let the water hit my face for 45mins, the hot water never ran out and the water pressure was incredible. I could write sonnets about it. The onsen in the hotel was lovely. An easy walk down the stairs, clean, and never busy. I really enjoyed it. Our stay also included breakfast and it hit the spot every morning. Fantastic offerings that hit the spot for both me and my husband. Speaking of sonnets - the pear tart was to DIE for. Also, all the fresh fruit was incredible. All the services were amazing and the front desk helped with everything. They helped direct us to our bike ride down the street (which was fantastic). They also helped us when we messed up our travel arrangements and got us right back on track (special shout out to Remy who kept me sane throughout my trip). The hotel was also walking distance to an incredibly beautiful shrine just down the street, which I so enjoyed. All in all, our stay at The Happo was absolutely above and beyond and we will without a doubt be returning!

I have stayed at the Happo multiple times. Always a joy. It is a wee bit away from the luxxy part of the village so four stars instead of five, but EVERYTHING else is fabulous. The rooms are modern yet Nordic simple. Everything one needs has been supplied, yet no clutter. A lot of thought put into this. My favorite part is sitting outside by the fire pit with a beer and chatting fellow guests.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in September. It was rather quiet, in between seasons, which we enjoyed a lot. The hotel staff is very professional and fast, but still friendly and happy to help and give recommendations for outings or things to do. We especially liked the hotel shuttle service which drove us around town and to various locations on request. No need for buses and taxis, excellent! The room was neat and pleasant to stay in. Great location and a network of businesses connected to the hotel (try Blizzard for pizza and Gio’s for dinner, they also serve the breakfast at the hotel) so you feel very well taken care of. There is a nice outdoor seating area with games for kids and adults, and a wood fire in the evening. Highly recommend a stay.

Great hotel with sufficiently big rooms. hotel situated at a very convenient place, with attractions within 10 mins drive around. reception staff are well versed with English. there's washing machine, dryer, microwave at each level also. so it's very convenient. Hotel breakfast is also great. another plus point is that the room also has a big full length mirror which makes it easy to prepare yourself before going out :)

It’s was a super nice stay at the Happo! Clean rooms, friendly English speaking service and lovely Onsen at the hotel! No fuss check in and the reception lady even help to post our luggage to our Tokyo Hotel next! Highly recommended

Room size is big but not user friendly with insufficient lighting and stairs. Not providing smart TV. Dinner is good but bit rush serving that we could not take time to taste each dish well.
