We had a lovely 5 night stay at the Harbor Front Inn.|All personnel were congenial and attentive. |The entire facility was spotless and well maintained.|We had the harbor front room king bed. Nice size room, comfortable mattress, nice size bathroom with a shower that had multiple showerheads and sprays. The 65” (maybe 55”) LG tv and cable channels were above average for a hotel. Continental breakfast was nicely presented, coffee/tea available at 0630, breakfast at 0730. The bagels when still warm from the bagel shop were outstanding.|Our stay was pleasurable and memorable, no complaints here.

My husband and I have been staying at the Harborfront Inn for some years now whenever we stay on the North Fork. Its location sets it apart from other area hotels; however, the charm of it and the outstanding staff are among the many reasons we have made it our mainstay in Greenport. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated and the harbor views are breathtaking. The continental breakfast features delicious choices for a quick start to your day. My husband and I love staying on the North Fork and Harborfront Inn is a big part of why we do!

We had a delightful stay and will absolutely be back. The room was lovely with wonderful beds and bath products. Your staff really out the trip over the top! They were all so helpful and friendly and could not have been more welcoming and kind. We loved being able to go to the pool at sound view as well as use this pool. Again, your staff- from housekeeping to the front desk who made this trip an 10/10!! Thank you!

Google
The hotel is centrally located and lovely with large rooms and a nice pool. However, they misrepresent their liquor license -- showing cocktails and wine in room -- there is no liquor license and when coming to the North Fork one assumes one can drink wine at the pool and on the deck -- but when we arrived we were informed no drinks, no wine, no cocktails. I would have chosen a different hotel if I knew that were the case. For an adult vacation to not be able to have a bottle of wine around the pool is not ideal! I was told I could go to another hotel, but I didn't want to go to another property to have a glass of wine -- I want to stay where I am and not have to worry about driving after drinking. The staff member who "welcomed" us -- a white woman with blond hair -- was also very condescending and would not give us our keys until she read the entire welcome information sheet to us about WiFi and where the ice machine was. It was fairly ridiculous. I'd appreciate a partial refund of our stay. It really impacted our experience. I did love the breakfast bar and the property itself was clean and lovely. But to have photos on your hotel that show people enjoying wine and cocktails and then be told there is no liquor license and we can't even BYOB really impacted our stay. If you don't care about wine at the pool, then you will enjoy it!

Google
Really fantastic hotel but if you’re looking for a fantastic guest experience get in contact with Kara. She is a wealth of information and has connections with everyone in town. She showed my wife and I around, took us to Oyster Ponds for a tour of their oyster farm and then a tour of the general area. I feel the whole point of travel is to get a keyhole view into another place and culture and community but Kara gave us a panoramic view of all of the above. Oyster Ponds was fascinating and I have a huge appreciation for the dedication to the process the and love that goes into the product. Learning about the local art scene was amazing as well and we even got to snag a few pieces of local memorabilia to take home. A short weekend trip turned into a happy memory for life.

Google
We love this hotel. Located on Main Street, walking distance from great restaurants, the hotel is an understated gem. The rooms are comfortable (make sure to ask for 2nd or 3rd floor rooms which have balconies), the beds comfortable, there's a nice espresso machine in the room. And as the rooms face away from the main street, it's generally pretty quit (unlike some other hotels in town). The staff is friendly and helpful. We've been here before and we'll make sure to come back again.||The hotel offers a simple breakfast, but if you want a hearty start to the day, go to Crazy Beans down the street.

Google
Great location in the heart of Greenport with nice rooms. They recently updated their lobby and we enjoyed a nice continental breakfast both days. We didn’t get to use the pool but checked it out and would highly recommend! The balcony off our room was so nice during the day and at night to have a drink, overlooking the view of the harbor. Would definitely come back!

I stayed here for one night for my first time visiting greenport. While I was not at the hotel other than sleeping it was the perfect location. Very clean. Easy check in and checkout. You do need to request a water view as it was beautiful. Only negative is the parking lot was filled when I got back and I had paid for parking. I parked in a made up location and it seemed fine and I moved my car in the morning.

Yelp
This is a wonderful spot in a perfect location. The front desk is super helpful and accommodating. The view on the 3rd floor is spectacular.

Yelp
No parking at check-in...lot full. Sent to a muni lot that is extremely sketchy at night. Looked like drug deal going on with sketchy guy in shadows watching us on a bicycle in a very dark lot. Breakfast and Gym are a joke. Elevator on its last legs. Additional fees are outrageous. Have to request maid service. Booked through Airbnb and neither Airbnb or the hotel honored the written cancellation policy when we wanted out of the last night of our 3 night stay. Hotel acted like Airbnb had no right to act as their agent. Fire alarm went off at 6am. Had to leave the hotel. False alarm and no apology. Spent over $450 per night not including taxes and fees. Expectations were for a somewhat upscale experience at that price. Felt like Motel 6 services and I might be insulting Motel 6. Property is in good location and has potential but clearly not focused on service or repeat business. Feels like a money grab while they cut every corner they can.

Yelp
The inn is lovely, very nicely furnished and big rooms, well maintained with a wonderful downtown location near the harbor in Greenport, close to the ferry to Shelter Island. However, they are not a resort, contrary to their practice of charging an $80 resort fee for a two night stay. In addition, they have a parking lot right next to the hotel, but charge $25/night. I realize it's a tourist destination with a short season, but all together, fees came to $200.

Colleen C.

Yelp
Horrible! Just got back for what was to be a lovely stay. The place is under construction which we were never informed. Plastic on walls, doorways, exposed electric, paper taped to the floor. No one was at the desk so we had to ask one of the workers to find someone. A complete mess! All was said was "sorry", really? They should have refunded our money. Shame on them. Will never ever stay there again! Colleen C.

Yelp
We were really looking forward to our stay since we were here a few times several years ago and enjoyed the central location. Looking at the other recent reviews here on Yelp, I see we were not the only disappointed patrons. Sadly, since Harborfront Inn was bought by a private equity firm (we heard from the locals) it has unfortunately lost a lot of its original charm that the Kontokosta family had as the original owners. As expected, prices have soared, rooms at the new prices for same spaces have had perhaps a new paint job basically. There are many add-on "amenities" i.e. $25 charge to park your car in the hotel parking lot. Really? Staff were not as helpful as before. However, I am sure they are making the $$$$ as the area is becoming more popular. Pros: The hotel is in walking distance to the many cafés, restaurants and shops in the seaport village of Greenport. **We now prefer the Menhaden. Reviewed recently. Or American Beech** Thank you for reading.

Yelp
Nickel and dimes you at every opportunity. Had to prepay for the room but when I showed up late not only did they book my prepaid room but also charged me a "no show " fee. I guess I am supposed to thank them bc they were able to "find" me a room. The continental breakfast is seriously lacking. I skipped it everyday. Don't get a room near the elevator. Every time it stops on your floor it makes a loud tone. Had to unplug the fridge bc it was extremely loud. They charge for parking even when there are no available parking spots, so you end up in the municipal lot after paying for parking. Staff was friendly that's the only nice thing I can say.

Yelp
I am a yearly visitor of the Harborfront. I have given 5 star reviews. This is a place my husband and I enjoy immensely. We book the Harborfront front balcony room every year, and look forward to our visit. This year I added a trip for my sister and I. We were given a room on a lower level . I do pay premium prices. On entering the room it was lovely as always. But sitting on the deck we were appalled that there was 2 homeless men right under us, And looked like this had been a long while. Called the front desk and was advised they couldn't do anything about it.. i was so uncomfortable with the response. The next day they moved to a shaded place right in our view of the harbor. Directly under our deck. finally on the 3rd complaint the manager was present and did help right away. I'm just so disappointed. I have a trip in September..I'm not sure if I'm comfortable staying.. I waited on this review because I was told I would be contacted, but never was

Melissa D.

Yelp
clean except for carpet. theyve made no attempt to clean carpet or throw rug. the front desk was very friendly. the bed was comfortable and sofa bed was comfy too bud the king bed and sofa bed only used flat sheets which leaves the bed unraveled shortly thru your sleep. there is no shelf in the shower for toiletries, only one towel hook that is inconveniently located behind a shelving unit that could have held the hair dryer and tissues etc... but that was stored in the closet so unless you hunt for it, youd never know. the pedestal sink also leaves know place for a man or woman to get ready make/up, shave, hair...as there is no counter) the king suite i had was spacious and decent furniture. the nightly price was not unreasonable. however you will not see All the fees and taxes which are equal to an entire nights stay until checkout.

Yelp
Way too expensive for the lack of amenities. Room was clean, but the wall near the sink needed to be repainted - crusting away from the sink. No coffee pot in the room. No on-site parking available, so we had to lug our suitcases a block away. Cost almost $700.

James M.

Yelp
The only good thing about this hotel is it's location right in the heart of Greenport Village. You can walk to everything. Beyond that there's not much to like. The rooms are small and dark. There's a $25 fee to park your car. Our room had no toothpaste, soap or toilet paper. The sheets were terribly uncomfortable, the cash bar in the room was over priced, the staff was non-existent, the continental breakfast consisted of coffee and mini muffins and a 6% amenities fee was ridiculous considering that there were no amenties.

Yelp
Had a lovely short stay at this wonderful waterfront property right in the heart of Greenport village, Very comfortable, contemporary room (had a harbor side view and worth the extra money if you stay longer than a night) nice amenities (inc. plush bathrobe, mini bar and snack tray) and kind & attentive staff. Perfect place to enjoy what this historic town and surroundings offer (many wineries, lavender field, short ferry to Shelter Island) and so much more!! Go check it out!

Yelp
not good at all. This is a beautiful place but as as soon as we arrived just insane . I'm talking construction, major remodeling. Not just fixing up a light or painting . I'm talking workers carrying ladders , past you , plastic everywhere up and down, in fact I had to move plastic to see in , painters, men carrying in and out materials. Full construction site. I felt like I just walked into a place that may open in a few months. Electricians installing lights, drywall dropping from the ceiling, the nice people doing all the labor asking me to watch out not to get hurt, people carrying crown molding in . In fact, when we were waiting for anyone to be there , the workers asked me to watch out because this is a dangerous area. this area was the entrance , no other way to get in. The electrician then said maybe to move to a different area. All just ridiculous and scary. My mom has some issues and this could have been a very serious accident for anyone to arrive in this. Then one installation guys took a look for us to see where someone could be to help. All this looneyness followed by a women explaining this just all just happened and they did not know . Ok yeah you know , if You've ever had any work done whether it's a new kitchen or anything, a lot has to be done to schedule all this . Everybody knows that . So no phone call or email bc honestly , we would have cancelled . They waved the parking fee $25 so yeah not going to cut it . Just disappointing bc I never get a day ,my cousin planned this . This was just a day and night get together for her moms birthday . Oh yeah and in the morning the so called "free breakfast " no coffee no milk , no juice , nobody again .. More workers , maybe a bagel and something else left from wherever. This place gets a 1 because I'm sure it will look pretty and for the location . I wanted to give a zero.

Natalie L.

Yelp
Convenient location and spectacular view , rooms are little dated and smell, but overall was a nice room.

Yelp
Great location - steps away from Greenpoint shops and dining. Rooms are clean yet very dark as the property owner / management company thought paint ceilings a dark color looks sheek or stylish (perhaps in a modern building with nice fixtures this would work - these rooms are neither). Most importantly the add on fees are absurd!! Stay away or at least we forewarned. Limited transparency when it comes to which ones are legitimate vs profits for hotel. One completely bogus add on charge is a 6% amenities fee. I did not observe any amenities that would substantiate this charge. So over the top with the add on fees!! I would not visit again. I was able to avoid a $35 parking fee by using the free municipal lot that is 15 feet away. It is crazy how nontransparent this property is with respect to fees.

Yelp
I'm really not one to ever write reviews, let alone a bad one, but i just felt compelled to share this one due to the absurdity of the situation. Just so that everyone has full transparency of what happened, here is the background: In April, my wife, 11-month year old son and I all came down with COVID so we asked to reschedule the reservation (not only were we all very sick, but also didn't want to ever go stay at a hotel and put others at risk), so we re-booked our two-night stay for November 11th. Fast forward to the first week of November, my pregnant wife unfortunately just found out that she had a miscarriage and has to undergo a procedure the first day of the hotel reservation. I called up the hotel and speak to management, because we obviously physically won't be able to go on this trip while my wife is undergoing a surgery and then recovering! The hotel manager says that since they already made one accommodation, they won't be able to allow us to reschedule again!!!!  I even agreed to keep our current nightly rate which is well above the rate for the month that we were looking to reschedule to, but all she was able to say to me was sorry, this is hotel policy, there is nothing i can do!   The level of insensitivity and inflexibility of this hotel is so enraging that i just felt that this needed to be known to others so they you can avoid this hotel going forward. If having a medical procedure due to a miscarriage is not something that a hotel can accommodate, I'm honestly not sure what is! I wasn't even asking for a refund/cancellation, just to reschedule to a different 2-night stay of our choice, that's available/not booked by others of course.  Avoid this hotel at all costs!

Yelp
From the beginning to ending of our stay there were consistent issues. The key didn't work when we finally got to the room so that interrupted us. Then we discovered that a light bulb in the room was out. Another interruption of our time together. We had to wait for someone to come and then for them to fix it. Next there was no extra blanket in the room as they stated there would be. Now here we go again waiting for that. On the terrace we discover wet lounge cushions. Again, we call, we wait for them to arrive and then we wait to get it fixed. We head out in hopes of taking a break from all the room's issues. Upon returning, the key doesn't work AGAIN. So we wait again. Then we go on the terrace and then we discover that a bulb is out there too. Now we call, we wait for them to come, two people come and then we wait for them to troubleshoot, they leave, they return and it can't be fixed. They don't know what caused the issue. So now here we are in a suite that is priced well-above it's value and having constant issues that we can't even enjoy our time. We wanted to enjoy the sunset that didn't happen. The shower head had issues and so did the bath. We didn't discover those issues until the morning of checkout. Seriously, when is the last time this room was repaired. The terrace is also over due for a paint job. This is not luxury at all. While we were glad that they were attentive to trying to fix the issues, it was really disappointing that there were so many mishaps to begin with. This really soured our thoughts of the property. We have friends who travel often and we share our experiences. We thought for sure this would be a property that we recommended, but we cannot recommend it at all as of now. Hopefully, you all will make amends for the bad experience that we encountered for my birthday.

Yelp
We always stay here off season so maybe that's why we love it. Hardly anyone there n the town is the best. We like parking n forgetting about the car for a few days. Nice getaway n everything is walkable. Always get a nice room water view, very clean n cute balconies. I don't know how it is during tourist season but we love Greenport n always a great little getaway from the city. Great restaurants and shops all at your fingertips

Yelp
We loved our stay at the Harbor Front Inn. We were greeted by Jessica at the front desk. She was lovely and she went over all of the details of the amenities at the hotel including a wonderful room with a beautiful view of the marina. The room was spacious and comfy with a nice deck, a mini fridge and safe and an amazing spa shower! Breakfast was included and it was a nice assortment of healthy breakfast items including fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, bagels, muffins and croissants. The coffee was awesome and refilled as soon as it was needed. Jessica gave us suggestions on local places to visit including beaches, food and shopping. We had a wonderful time and I'm looking forward to returning soon!

Yelp
unscrupulous vendor. you would not want to deal with these dishonest, insensitive and inflexible people so stay away.

Yelp
The inn is ok. It is clean, the bed was pretty comfortable, it is centrally located and the continental breakfast was a nice surprise. I would not likely come back bc the view you think you're paying for is not what you get. We had a "partial view of the harbor" but they didn't tell us we'd have a full view of the parking lot. They also don't tell you you may not have a parking spot when they are full. The staff isn't rude but isn't friendly either. They don't necessarily acknowledge you when you come in or even look up. Disappointing! Really disappointing for $400/night. There were some "motels" that had amazing views of the water in Greenport. We would definitely consider them next time as they seem like a much better value and have uninterrupted views.

Yelp
This hotel has gone down hill. I booked the harbor front front view as per the description of the room private water front Terrance with seating area which I will include their description at the bottom of this review. This is my 3or4th time staying here and last time we had a room with a balcony viewing the harbor which is exactly what I booked this time for our second wedding anniversary since it was the most expensive room available with taxes came to $525.00 for a 1 night stay. The view is of the parking lot but if you look all the way to the right you will see the water hoping your neighbor isn't outside because than that's awkward . I will never stay here again. What used to be good is garbage, save your money and Uber the difference to a better location. Private waterfront terrace as per the description of the room should include a full view of the parking lot which cost you $25 to park in

Yelp
We were looking for a quick and safe staycation and were drawn to the Harborfront Inn. The location is great, right on Main Street with cute shops and restaurants. Everything felt very clean and sanitized. Even though it was Valentine's Day weekend, the prices were reasonable. I'm a stickler when it comes to the quality of a hotel room, ESPECIALLY with covid. I was very happy to the room. I'm definitely going back in the summer or fall and will most likely book a room with a harbor view for a few more bucks.

Yelp
Perfect location in the heart of Greenport! Well maintained hotel. Rooms are nice size. Our family of 4 stayed in a room with 2 queen beds. Beautiful view of the carousel and the water from the balcony. Complimentary continental breakfast as well ! Attentive front desk staff. Would definitely stay here again !

Gladys H.

Yelp
Booked a room for my sisters 86th birthday...they went way beyond to accommodate and make it special! Beautiful balcony roon with partial bay view snd even a birthday card and bottle if prosecco in the room They have an amazing continental breakfast that is much more than just coffee and rolls...yummy! I would definitely recommend thus hotel

Yelp
This was our second stay here and we loved it all over again! The continental breakfast was great, we had a harbor view from our terrace and it was close to everywhere we wanted to go. The room and hallways were clean and the staff was helpful when we needed them. Great experience!

Scotts M.

Yelp
The only thing good about this hotel stay, was the location (in the heart of the strip ). The room was a basic room with no room service provided for two day stay. The harbor view was only seen from out on the balcony. Lighting in the room was extremely dark. The balcony direct view was the parking lot. Check -in time was 4pm. We arrived early and had to wait 3 hours for a room.... The front desk folks barely acknowledged us when we arrived. When we departed-the front desk clerk was on the phone and, once again, barely acknowledged me. There was NO "did you enjoy your stay" or any communication. They charged $27 per night additional to park car in a crowded parking lot. I strongly suggest looking at other options than this place.

Denise H.

Yelp
Poor customer service. Old rooms. Late check in. Unresponsive management. Unfortunate.

Allicia R.

Yelp
We have been staying at this property for over 12 years. I think the property has two management changes. While I appreciate new leadership and I am happy they have the other property and we can use their pool and beach, I was disappointed with some new policies. One my daughter has type 1 diabetes and although check in is at 4 the hotel would previously make an effort to let us in earlier if possible, so her supplies could be refrigerated or taken out if a hot car. This year we were told of the new policy of paying for this. This staff took our essentials and put them behind the desk, but it seems quite petty to pay 50 something per hour for an earlier check in. They aren't a seedy motel having customers pay per hour, so this isn't a great policy. When we checked in their were at least 3 other guests who were upset with the policy and noted they would not have booked here if they had known. Second, parking. We have always parked here for free. Although, the free municipal lot was touted as the easy option, there are at least two homeless men living there. So the other night when we had to move the car at 8:00 I had my 9 year old and 15 year old with me and it wasn't an ideal situation to be in especially when I am paying a decent amount for a luxury hotel room. Again, these complaints were also mentioned by other guests who we encountered. Finally, on our last night, I inquired about staying another night especially if there was an unoccupied room for one night. We even mentioned we would change rooms. I would assume tomorrow that late in the game if a single room hadn't been booked there might be a price reduction. I was informed you no longer do that. We were willing to stay and even change rooms and pay just not the ridiculous current price on the website. We were told you longer do that, so now a room that could have brought in revenue will sit empty. Perhaps you are making that money back on parking....I love coming to Greenport, but I might have to rethink where we stay. The staff was lovely, but obviously they are only able to do so much with the policies of the property. Sent from my iPhone

Yelp
I lye awake in my hotel room at 6 am, desiring a full night sleep. Writing this.. With the balcony door open for some fresh air , it sounds like LA California on a hot and busy summer day. ( it's February right now) There is so much city type noise, its unbelievable... making it very uncomfortable. The noise still percolates through the closed balcony doors. The room even has a note from the hotel stating that they are not in control off the noise. I know it is not their fault but "stayer" should be aware of this. It is no quant sea side stay.. also, they really need to invest in some quality bed sheets. It's like sleeping on itchy starched out laundry... The hotel overall looks nice and is clean. It is also a great central location. Oh, be ready to pay the resort fee for pool use, even if it's the middle of the winter and the pool is closed up. Doesn't quite make sense...

Joe P.

Yelp
Place sucks. Paid more for a harbor view, was on the first floor with a bunch of weeds in my face. Harbor was barely visible. The AC unit in the room was a piece of shit, made this ticking noise all night so got no sleep. The WiFi is absolute dog water, nothing loads. Plus everyone above the first floor get a nice balcony. Screwed on that end too.

Yelp
My husband and and I had planned a special trip for a friend's wedding! Reservations where made never planning for unforseen circumstances due to Covid that would force us to cancel all plans. I call to cancel our 2K suite and they refuse to refund nor offer alternative to compensate us for charges not render!!!! The front desk gave me an email to send my request...not a phone number cause they didn't have one to give to speak to GM...cowards!!! I know how Hotels industry work and I have stayed in many fine Hotels and never encountered such horrible service with no care at all for customer!!! Emphasize HORRIBLE!!!! Their so call policy does not care for customer service or retention of them at all!!! They could care less if your mother dies!!! Sad!!! That hotel will go broke soon! Karma!!! They lost my business for ever and I will report on every site I can!!

Yelp
Stayed at the Harborfront Inn a year or two ago and I'm finally just writing this review now! It's a great little Inn, a 5 minute walk to the Hampton Jitney bus stop and LIRR station in Greenport -- making it a very convenient place to stay if you don't want to drive all the way out there! The Inn is also located on the main street in Greenport with restaurants and shops nearby. It's also right by the water and you can take a ferry to Shelter Island . We stayed in a Standard Room: large room, nice-sized bathroom, fairly new, modern, wood furniture; very comfortable bed with great linens. There's not much of a reception/front-desk , and we didn't order room-service so I can't speak to that. Overall, we had a great stay and would return if we go back to Greenport.

Yelp
Loved the stay here...staff was extremely friendly and made us feel right at home. Room was very clean and updated. Room service was there when we needed it...hotel is in a perfect location as well...I'll be back for sure!!

Yelp
We had visited the Inn a year and a half ago and had a lovely experience. Imagine our disappointment when we visited again just a few days ago. No one was at the desk upon our arrival. When we finally found someone to check us in, we were told our room would be ready in 1 hour and they'd text us. So we walked around town for a while and returned 2 hours later. While we got into our room, we hadn't received the text, even though the woman at the desk said it was sent. The text arrived some 4 hours later. We were then told we'd have to move our car from the parking lot unless we agreed to pay the $27 per day parking fee (note our confirmation quoted a $25/day fee). We hadn't paid for parking during our previous visit. Our room, on the first floor was dark and had a "lovely" view of the parking lot!!! When we went to the pool, we found kids throwing balls around and more dogs were there than people. No towels were available. When we asked staff members for directions to other locations around town, or about events in the town, they had no idea and showed little interest in providing any assistance. And to cap it off, when checking out, we were told we'd have to pay an extra $200+ since we had booked the reservation through Expedia. WE DID NOT! We called the hotel directly. Never again will we stay here!

Yelp
fire alarm went off 6:15 Am multiple times.. false alarm fireman never responded and staff had it happen multiple times before alarm company responded. Charged amenity fee of $25 per day for unheated pool (in cold October, internet and continental bfast of a bagel apple and banana) + parking fee $20 per night.. Rooms nice but nothing spectacular. Stayed here years ago with prior owner .. much more hospitable staff and welcoming feeling.. covid should not be any excuse. Great location but sooooo not worth the cost

Yelp
This place is crap and extremely unprofessional. I booked a reservation for a weekend and had a family emergency so called to cancel. Apparently they have a 14 day cancellation period. My call was 13 days so I missed the cutoff by one day. They did offer me to use their facility the following month but were forcing me to spend another few hundred dollars as they now had a 3 night minimum. I went back and forth with them and they could not have been any less flexible. I contacted the better business bureau as well as my credit card company While they are in a nice location this place is definitely not worth the money. They are scum!!!!

Yelp
I have stayed in this hotel several times now, both for business and pleasure. No one the location is pretty much unbeatable smack in the center of the wonderful village of Greenport. Also many of the rooms offer wonderful views of the harbor and the carousel. The place however feels undeniably a bit soulless. This is perhaps in part as a result of its pre-fabricated construction by a company based inside the Brooklyn Navy Yard. This certainly isn't helped by the decor both inside the rooms and in the common areas. The whole hotel seems to have been decorated by someone whose main focus seems to be decorating model units for generic cookie cutter apartments, condos, or planned communities you see across the country. For the prices at the highest point of the season, and the fact that this place is branding itself as the villages first "luxury" hotel, I am not sure that the tacky decor is quite cutting it. That being said, I have a feeling I will be returning here. Also an important tip; if you didn't stop up at bottles straight from the vineyards, hit the liquor store across the street. They have an exceptional selection of local wines and offer a discount to hotel guests!

Yelp
We weren't sure if we had arrived the same location we saw on the website, because their website had MORE charm then their staff and actual "luxury" hotel. The location is great location and that's exactly what you're paying for, BOTTOMLINE. But when you look at what they offer, it's completely overpriced! We came for the 4th of July weekend and not an ounce of America pride in the entire hotel and/or the town of Greenport. The hotel provided a mediocre continental breakfast (included? coffee, hard boiled eggs, cereal and bagels that bounce higher than a basketball). Our room was your standard room at the holiday day, we overlooked the parking lot with a somewhat of a weak view of the harbor. The pool had more patio than pool and was just wasted space. The staff was really nowhere to be found, and when you did find someone they would not speak unless spoken to. Please let's not mention the gym, it was the size of one of the guest rooms with some free weights, one treadmill, one elliptical machine, one bike, and a small cable system. On the morning of 4th of July, everyone and there spouse decided to workout. At one point it was just my wife and me working out then all of sudden people starting coming in to workout. The room was maxed out at about six to seven people and we were packed like canned sardines. Also, what type of place has a fitness center with carpet? This was definitely a late addition to the hotel and was not thought out in advance. Our last night, we arrive back at the Inn from hitting a few vineyards and we pull into the parking lot to find that all the spots are taken. I get out to ask the girl in the lobby about parking and she replied with " there's free parking on the street and there's parking in the lot behind the Chinese food spot". Really at $300 a night you don't have enough parking spots to accommodate all of your guest? I'm sorry, but that's BAD business and poor customer service. The Harborfront Inn, definitely takes advantage of the fact that they are in prime location. I would save your money and go elsewhere, save it for the wine, beer or breakfast! We will not be back at the this hotel!

Yelp
I wanted a little getaway from Manhattan and chose to come to wine country on Long Island for a few days after Labor Day. I decided to stay at the Harborfront based on decent reviews and a website that has a lot more charm than the hotel itself. We stayed Monday to Thursday and because of the high rates during the week, after Labor Day ($299/night), we figured this place was going to be amazing. We were wrong. Our room overlooked the parking lot. Nuff said there. The room was something like what you'd find in a Best Western, with exception to the bathroom which had been remodeled nicely. We went to the lobby many times to ask questions about the area and the woman working the "front desk" was often MIA with a little note on her desk reading something like "I'll be back shortly." Not so helpful. The pool was very tiny with no view. We were glad they had a pool but it should have been nicer. Overall, this hotel is nowhere near what it should be given what you have to pay for it. I will not return and will not recommend to others.

Yelp
Greedy in Greenport We booked a Jr. Suite at the Harborfront Inn through the hotel itself months in advance of our stay, but never received a confirmation. So, we made another reservation, a smaller room at a lower price, through Booking.com. Our mistake, granted. Upon discovering the duplication at check in, we asked if we could keep the smaller room and get a refund the Jr. Suite. The person at the desk said she'd have to check with her manager but went ahead and gave us the smaller room. And we discovered why we never got their original confirmation. They sent it to a wrong email address. About 20 minutes later, after we unpacked and settled in, she knocked on our door and said they won't refund the Jr. Suite, so since we're paying the higher price we should move rooms. I asked why can't we just stay put and get a refund for the other room? She said they manager said so and lectured me on how we had agreed to the larger room when we made the original reservation. But they would refund the other room, as if they were doing me a favor. I asked to speak to the manager who was "unavailable." The Inn was not full. They could have easily let us remain in the smaller room, in the spirit of what's commonly known as customer service. But there's no room for that at the Harborfront Inn. Their indifference, greed, and outright contempt towards us was a study in treating the customer like an inconvenient out-of-towner only worthy of gouging.

Yelp
Harborfront Inn has officially become our go-to place to stay whenever we come out to Greenport. All the employees are a pleasure to deal with, the rooms are big/clean, and the location can't be beat. Greenport has become a family tradition for us, and Harborfront Inn will be a part of that! We can't wait for our next trip.

Yelp
Overall, it was an OK experience, but definitely not worth the money. Our ocean view first floor room didn't have the greatest view - wish we hadn't paid extra for that. The hotel room itself was outdated and reminded us of a cheap Best Western. The towels were not very nice and there was loud music coming from a nearby restaurant outside our hotel that kept us up later than we wanted two nights in a row. The TV in the room was very small. Also, the room had a strong mildew smell. On the positive side, the inn had a great location and the lobby was recently renovated and very nice. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast and pass to a free wine tasting at a nearby winery. Most of the women that worked at the desk were also very nice, except for one. We also liked the bath products and multi-jetted shower.

Yelp
After some tribulation and deliberation, I am happy to say someone came to their senses and made things right with us at the Harbor Front Inn. Thank you for the effort.

Yelp
We recently spent a long weekend in the North Fork and made a reservation after reading a few articles on places to stay in the area. At $400+/night plus tax and one of the only places that insists on a 3-night minimum, you have certain expectations, but unfortunately the Harborside Inn fell flat on its face. We arrived early Friday afternoon. The lobby is very sunny & bright, and our 2nd floor room appeared that way as well, at least at first glance. However, when you "draw back the curtains" to see what's really here, it's very disappointing. First off, the Sharp flat screen TV may have the worst flat screen picture I've seen in years. It's okay if you are standing dead center of the TV, but take 2 steps to the left or right and the picture quality is really poor. At the price we were paying they can replace these lousy TV's. Being mid-summer, the rooms are understandably stuffy without the A/C on, so we immediately turn on the A/C when we arrived. A few hours later we have determined that despite having a number of settings, we essentially have two options - one temperature/full blast or off. Nothing in between. We call up the operator and are told someone will be there shortly to check it out. Within 15 minutes someone comes by, confirms we are right in our assessment, and states they'll get someone to come by while we're out to dinner to fix it. When we come back after dinner we're pleased to hear it's been fixed. Unfortunately it's not the case, so we sleep with the blankets up to our nose that night. Next morning I notice the water drains very poorly in the bathroom sink. Since we're running late, I don't say anything, hoping maid service will notice when they come by and get it fixed. Unfortunately, A/C and sink in same condition when we come back hours later after a wedding. Too tired too deal and go to bed. Day 3 we complain about A/C again. Told it's fixed. Ask to speak to manager but told she is not there now, so we leave message but she never calls us. Sink drainage issue fixed. Since the temperature dropped that night, we attempt to sleep with balcony door open/no A/C. We're awakened at 1 am by someone who is dragging the hotel trash on the gravel driveway to a dumpster. Tell him he just woke us up and to please do that in the morning and he tells us he can't, so he comes back two more times in next 15 minutes with more trash. We bite the bullet, shut the slider and put the A/C on so we can get back to sleep. Check out morning (Monday) we again ask for manager. She's not there, so we leave her a message again. She never calls, and 5 days later we're still waiting to hear from her. I thought this was a service business, not a poor service business.

Yelp
What a wonderful Hotel !!! This place is a true GEM :) This hotel is right in the center of town so it's really convenient. Our room was great, we did over look part of the parking lot, but beyond that was this incredible carousel and to the other side were stunning water views. The beds were like heaven, I rolled around in Frette sheets all weekend. The bathroom was huge and so lux, they even had toilettes from CO Bigalow. The staff couldn't of been nicer !!! I give this place an A+

Yelp
This is the second time my wife and I have visited the Harborfront Inn. Prior to staying here we had shopped around and stayed in several other places. We found that the Harborfront is the most centrally-located hotel for visiting Greenport and several of the wineries. You may find a few places that are less expensive but as the saying goes - you get what you pay for. The Harbourfront is meticulously clean. The staff, from Cassidy at the front desk to Rebecca and everyone we met or had contact with, go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Their critiques of local restaurants were spot on as well as local things to see or do. The beds and pillows were comfortable (the bathrobes a nice added touch) and to have coffee/tea available 24/7 is an added bonus. The continental breakfast (juice, fresh fruits, pastries, bagels, cold/hot cereals etc.) was more than enough to keep us going through lunch. The breakfast area like every place else in the hotel was kept meticulously clean and the presentation of the food items was wonderful. The Harborfront is also very secure at night time which is comforting when you're away from home. This hotel has definitely become our home away from home when visiting the North Fork. As an added note..... we tried to book online and two different websites told us there was no room at the Inn..... we called the Harborfront and spoke to Cassidy only to find that there was a room available.... guess you can't believe everything on the internet!!!! Kudos to Cassidy and the staff..... we look forward to seeing you folks in the future!!!!

Yelp
Stayed here for our anniversary in July. The room was very clean and overall it was nice. We had a view of the harbor, Shelter Island, and the ferries. The bed was luxurious and quite comfortable. The bathroom was not large, but it was beautiful. However, the shower was awesome! 5 shower heads, people. That, my friends, is worth the price of admission. The staff we interacted with were quite nice and gave us great food recommendations. Overall, when we are travelling through the area again and want to spend a night on the North Fork, I will definitely have this place at the top of my list.
