I had a wonderful stay at the Hardiman Hotel for business / pleasure. The hotel is very well located with major Galway attractions being very walkable. I had a standard double room which was very spacious. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very large. The room does not have a fridge or AC. We visited in September so the temperature ranged from the high 30s to 50s and the room actually felt toasty at night. The hotel staff were friendly and very nice - our room was not ready when we arrived prior check in so they brought our bags up to our room for us. Our room rate included breakfast which was decent - there was a buffet and you could order a few items from the kitchen. If you are very sensitive to noise, you may not like this hotel. We would hear footsteps above us. However, I would definitely recommend staying at the Hardiman.

I stayed here this weekend and really enjoyed my stay. I was due to travel last weekend but due to Storm Amy had to postpone my trip. Aoife the customer service agent I was dealing with was brilliant and I really appreciate her help in rescheduling my trip. She answered all my emails within minutes. |I was down doing the Run Galway Bay this weekend and my stay at the Hardiman made the weekend. The staff are so lovely and helpful and as a regular visitor to the Hardiman I very much appreciate this. Will definitely be back

Currently in our first night stay out of three nights. I will cut right to the chase. The heat in our hotel room will not shut off. The two windows will only allow to be opened an inch or two. We have called the front desk two times to address this issue. They sent a very polite woman up that had no clue, but mentioned they have had issues with heat in this room. She did bring a fan. It’s been hours and no one who could address the issue has arrived. It’s now past midnight and I called the front desk asking for a room change in the morning. The front desk said “ we will try our best”. This is a 4 star hotel, not the response you should receive! I hope I can post a good response tomorrow. Disappointed with the stay so far. Sleep is important when you travel abroad. .

The Hardiman is a beautiful and historic hotel that offers both comfort and convenience right in the heart of Galway. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and designed with comfort in mind, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring. A generous breakfast is included, with plenty of delicious options to start the morning off right. What really sets The Hardiman apart is its excellent service—the staff are warm, attentive, and always happy to help. We especially loved the cappuccinos, which became a highlight of our mornings. The hotel’s central location makes it the perfect base for enjoying everything Galway has to offer, from shopping and dining to exploring the city’s vibrant culture. A wonderful stay all around!

excellent location, nice bar and dining areas but the bedroom needs some attention. staff mainly did their job, but lacking any warmth - they mostly seemed disinterested. Bathroom is in serious need of a maintenance guy - shower door hanging off, water flow in the hot tap a trickle, very difficult to flush the toilet. I will consider looking at alternatives in this area if returning to Galway

Lovely historical hotel right on Eyre Square and convenient to all interesting sites to see in Galway. Two tips. Classic Rooms are not air conditioned and can be warm and humid. Shower in Room 423, a Junior Suite is tinny and hard to wash without turning on and off. Breakfast is excellent.

The room was huge and clean with lots of storage space. The staff were lovely. The breakfast was excellent. The A/C worked well. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom needed maintenance - the sink faucets ether let out a trickle or sprayed all over. Something was leaking, either the shower or the toilet and it made a mess in one corner by the shower. The first bathrobe had torn belt loops. We couldn't seem to get the room warm in the morning. It was loud on Saturday night, but of course that was to be expected in the town center, we should have asked for a room at the back.

My room was tiny. It looked as if was previously used as a linen closet. The bed was squeezed into the wall. No room for bedside table or light. Once I opened my case on tge floor there was no room to move for anything else. As I was only staying one night and leaving promptly at checkout I could have put up with that. However there was a persistent foul smell from the bathroom. I initially thought it would settle but it was there throughout my stay. It was very unpleasant. I did mention these issues when I was checking out. Other than being told I’d been in the smallest room in the hotel and that maintenance would check the smell no compensation was offered. I paid full price for a very substandard room
