Cacio E Pepe Toastie $16 - Taste exactly how you would imagine the toastie to be. It was ok/good (cheesy and peppery with fried bread, though not mindblowing). I wouldn’t reorder this again due to the portion size Fried Squid $28 - Squid was yum, and I really liked the vinaigrette sauce paired with it !! Not heavy considering it is fried Parpadelle al Limone $29 - Would come back for this pasta! Sooo delicious 🥹

Absolutely loved the food and service! We had such authentic and accommodating waitresses Lorenza and Elanora, they were so considerate of our diet requirements and attended to every one of them with each order. Would definately recommend

This restaurant remains my top choice for a quick and enjoyable dinner. Their spicy pasta is a standout dish—unique and not commonly found elsewhere—and their tiramisu is consistently excellent. Additionally, the staff provides exceptional service, which is increasingly rare to find these days.

A special birthday lunch for 9 of us. There were decorations, they had made a scrumptious cake coupled with excellent food and brilliant service. Thankyou Andrea, Dean and the team at the Hardware Club.

Roast beef carpaccio is surprisingly delightful - worth a try. Chilli crab is definitely a must try, very subtle crustacean flavour and noodles are perfectly al dente. Our server Alessandra made our experience so much better and we couldn’t have been more happier with the service we received.

The Hardware Club is the cosiest but liveliest restaurant tucked away upstairs down hardware lane. We chose some things off the menu which were a hit like the flatbread with mortadella, pistachio and honey (so yum but also imagine it with stracciatella???), rigatoni braised lamb shoulder and brown butter biscuit (my fav thing). I’m not usually one for fried food but the fried squid with the chilli vinaigrette was a great pairing that felt almost light? and tiramisu was yum too, softer than I usually like it but the stronger coffee taste balanced it out (for someone who doesn’t even like coffee) Would 100% recommend to make a booking because this place gets absolutely packed to the brim.

The atmosphere here is perfect for a chat—dim lighting and not too noisy, just the right vibe. The food selection includes appetizers, snacks, pasta, seafood, and desserts, and of course, there’s a great variety of wines to choose from. Cured Kingfish Crudo 🐟 (AUD 27) Fresh, cured kingfish paired with charred citrus, dill oil, and fresh herbs really bring out the fish’s flavor in a refreshing way. Woodfired Zucchini 🥒 (AUD 24) Macedonian goat’s milk cheese, sweet and sour onion jam, and glazed pine nuts with zucchini. The subtle tang of the goat cheese adds richness and depth to the flavors—unique and tasty! Pappardelle al Limone 🍝 (AUD 32) Wide pappardelle pasta with caramelized lemon, Roman sheep's milk cheese, and grated cheese. The tangy lemon cuts through the richness of the cheese, making it a refreshing, appetite-whetting dish. The atmosphere here is great, the food is top-notch, and you can even split the bill. Highly recommended! 😚

When I’m in the CBD, I love to visit The Hardware Club. I love sitting by the window, people watching as I enjoy my meal. On my recent visits - when I managed to snag a spot without a reservation - the cosy, intimate Italian atmosphere was buzzing with energy. The service is friendly and attentive, with a chatty bartender who even treated us to a complimentary house-made limoncello shot, making the experience extra special. It is definitely on the pricier side, but for some good food and atmosphere, I think it’s worth the splurge for a nice meal. What we ordered: - Tin of Don Bocarte Anchovies, “Sarafian” Harissa Butter, Parsley & Toast ($36) – A simple dish, but the butter is uniquely delicious - Roasted Marrow Bones Toast with Salsa Verde, Fried Capers, and Shallots ($21) – A must-have that never disappoints - bread is nicely toasted - Burrata with Spicy N’duja Jam, Gremolata, and Focaccia ($29) – The N’duja definitely has a good kick to it but complements the burrata well - Chilli Crab with Fresh Spaghetti “Chitarra”, Confit Tomato, and Spiced Pangrattato ($45) – Bold flavours also with quite a kick - Malfaldine Ragu (a special) (~$40) - cooked really well - mushrooms paired well with the ragu - Mille-feuille with Gianduja, Miso Caramel, and Praline ($16) – Reminded me of a Ferrero Rocher in dessert form, truly well done - Classic Tiramisu ($16) - Cannoli with Ricotta and Orange Zest ($14) The Hardware Club effortlessly blends great food, engaging service, and a vibrant atmosphere, making it the perfect destination for a memorable night out in the CBD.
