Stylish, understated and deliberately worn around the edges, The Harrison is Tribeca in microcosm. With realistic prices, very good food, and service to match, this corner restaurant exudes an old school atmosphere that does double duty as both a simple neighborhood kitchen and a destination place, one in which moneyed locals rub well-clad shoulders with corporate geldings from Citigroup, visiting celebrities and others in-the-know. Co-owned by chef Jimmy Bradley, the emphasis here is on stylized, rich comfort foods like wood-smoked pork chops, endive-and-pear salad with walnuts and blue cheese, prosciutto-wrapped sweetbreads, and crispy fried clams with coriander-flavored aïoli for dipping.
