Let me tell ya. This was a wonderful meal. My waitresses, Jeni & Ellen were amazing. Menu knowledge was great. My meal was Creamy salmon, greens & Mac n cheese DEFINITELY DELICIOUS. the best salmon I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Outside tables were great and of course the weather cooperated, sunny 84° 2026/03/06. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED

Excellent service! Our server, Jenny, was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect the whole time. The food was good but she made the experience even better. The Southern sandwich was a favorite. The Mac and cheese paired well with the chicken. Overall the flavors were exquisite and the chicken was fried perfectly. The Sunday dinner wrap was also good. Very flavorful and decent size. It was filling and we liked that it came with two sides. The Nashville sandwich was pretty good. Nothing exquisite but still good. The steak and egg platter portion was small in my opinion but the steak was seasoned well and overall tasted delicious. The biscuit paired well with it. I was also able to get a mocktail. Although it’s not advertised on their menu, they still did a good job creating something delicious and non alcoholic. Overall we had a pleasant experience and enjoyed our brunch!

Our server Eden was amazing. She was fairly new, but she really took her time and got our order right? And provided great customer service. The bartender Katie was also amazing. She made our drinks wonderfully. The food was really, really, really good. Would refer to a friend?

We had a pleasant experience overall, especially with the service. We were seated quickly, and our server, Katie, was kind, attentive, and ensured our order was accurate. The 90s R&B playlist added a nice vibe. As native Southerners raised on soul food, we come with a discerning palate. The restaurant’s motto, “Southern food done right,” sets a high bar—because to us, Southern food is rooted in love, tradition, and soul. We ordered the turkey wings with gravy, greens, cornbread, and mashed potatoes. The greens and cornbread were good, but the gravy on the turkey wings was not to our taste, and the turkey wasn’t fall-off-the-bone tender. The mashed potatoes did not appear to be made from scratch. We also tried the chicken biscuits with eggs, potatoes, and cheese grits. The fried chicken was juicy, but not generously smothered, and there wasn’t enough gravy for our liking. The gravy was thick and yellow-orange, not traditional Southern-style. The eggs and potatoes felt more like hotel-style breakfast, and the cheese grits were just okay. We left feeling the restaurant has Southern-inspired elements—recipes, an R&B playlist, and atmosphere—but not yet the depth of upbringing, love, and soulfulness that truly define Southern food for us.

My Dad and I work in Roanoke and have been to this place twice. The food has been amazing both times. I recommend the lamb chops or ribs with collard greens and creamed sweet potatoes. Well seasoned and delicious soul/southern dishes. Our waitress Katie was sweet and gave great service. Highly recommend when you’re in the area to try this place out!

Me and my friends decided to stop by for dinner after smelling it on the street! It was really cold, so we were excited to be inside. Our waiter, Billy, was absolutely amazing. Service was great, he had amazing recommendations, was super attentive, and incredibly friendly! The food was AMAZING and absolutely delicious. The steak was incredibly flavored and delicious, even though I typically don't like steak ✨ My chicken and fried shrimp were also incredibly delicious and so well flavored. When we left, my friend forgot her bag. Amazingly, Billy ran out the bag after us even though we had gone pretty far down the street 😅 Sorry Billy but thank you so much! Amazing restaurant, absolutely recommend ✨🧡

I came for the catfish and bruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I was not disappointed!!!! I’m from the area.. so it’s nice to see a spot like this is downtown Roanoke. Billy came in clutch with the service and the food was pretty good. Price was not to steep also. I would definitely recommend to others for a nice meal 👍🏾 My only complaint food wise was for the hush puppies — superrrrrrr salty to the point I could not enjoy them. Would not stop me from coming again that’s for sure.

Delicious food and great atmosphere. Enjoyed watching Dickens of a Christmas foot traffic go by. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Just across the street trim Mill Mountain theatre. Aubrey was very friendly and responsive to our needs. We didn’t ever have to have for refills! She paid attention and our needs were always met.

I was in town for the Virginia governors housing conference, and my group decided to check out this spot for a late dinner on a Thursday night. This restaurant is located in the middle of downtown Roanoke adjacent to several other restaurants and a food court as well. So there's definitely options. Parking seems to be fairly limited, but I'm sure there is a parking garage or two nearby. We walked from the Hotel Roanoke conference center so parking wasn't a concern. As we entered into the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by the hostess, who also seem to be the main wait staff and the bartender. She did a great job of holding the table down while also manning other tables and running orders back-and-forth. This is a place with a pretty extensive menu for its size and so we were pretty surprised at the depth of choices. However, I found the food to be overall well prepared, and pretty enjoyable. Drinks were also good as we ordered a couple of the specials off of the menu. Definitely a place. I would return to again the next time I'm in Roanoke.

A group of 4 of us went to TH on a Tuesday evening. We sat outside despite it being chilly since the outdoor area was heated. Our server was polite, helpful, and very accommodating. We did have to switch tables since our first table was not steady. Throughout our meal there was a lingering alternative smoke smell, similar to those who garden iykyk. The music was very good, early 00's r&b. Our food was overall good. Nothing overly special. Two of us had chicken sandwiches, which were great except we both agreed the chicken was dry. One person had a cobb salad, which was very good, and the other had shrimp, which were flavorful. Not a bad experience, not the best, and not the first choice if we come back to visit.

Where is the cheese?? Great drinks and great service. But for a place that has Mac and cheese bowls on the menu, you would think that the side of Mac and cheese would be cheesy. I'm not sure where the cheese was, but it was not in my bowl. Chicken sandwiches were good but dry. Hush puppies were excellent!!! Again, great drinks, service, and hush puppies. Don't bother with the Mac n cheese.

Another great Brunch this past Sunday. Great Service and quick. Parked right in front and was very convenient.

June 23, 2025 - 2 for lunch after HOURS of driving. Came off the major highway about 6 miles out of our way..... reviews and comments looked good. Wife got the Caesar salad with steak. She reported fresh greens and a nicely cooked product/steak. 9/10 I was looking for a veggie/vegan option-like thing and got the veggie handheld. I had been driving for about 6 1/2 hours up from Murphy NC along 81 so I might have not read what I thought I was getting... the fried green tomato, plant based patty, and the brioche bun were pretty oily and coasted and fried.... I actually ended up with indigestion later from all the fried oil in the green tomato breading and exterior, the plant based patty as well was grilled in oil or somewhere and I am not sure what the plant based composition was made of??? this was a 4/10 type of item for me. I got a side of baked beans that were okay but wildly sugary and sweet and liquidy. 7/10 Service was pretty good and the pricing was moderate and typically at about $15 for the veggie burger, the Caesar and Steak at $19 was in range.

My co-workers came here for lunch and we all got something different. All of us thought our meals were delicious. I got "The Heat" chicken sandwich with fries. I would definitely eat it again!! The service was top notch! The ambience is very causal. Located downtown, I bet this place gets a ton of business during the day! I'll definitely eat here again!

Service- 10/10 Food- 7/10. We ordered Salmon bites 9/10 Chicken 2/10 and Shrimp 4/10 Mac and Cheese 4/10 Greens 0/10 Lobster 4/10 Lamb Chops- 6/10 Corn bread was dry :( Overall probably won't visit again but the waiter was nice

The atmosphere is amazing, right downtown in center of the square. Indoor, outdoor,& bar seating available. My friend and I came for brunch and I got the chicken and biscuit and it was divine, she got the chicken and waffle sampler, equally as yummy. The many different mimosa flavors was unlike any other brunch place I've been! Impressive!

Albeit, Valentine's Day, but 11:00 AM, I was very disappointed. They were severely understaffed in the patron section, 3 servers. They limited the seating, which was smart, but they were still unable to properly serve the patrons. It took approximately 25 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me and then another 20 to get my drink. I was smart and ordered everything at once. My order was simple, 2 eggs over medium, potatoes and a biscuit. After another 20 minutes, the bartender instructed the servers to serve the prepared meals to the customers even if it wasn't their table. Needless to say the meal was lukewarm. The eggs overcooked. The biscuit was tasty and flakey. This was my first time and will be my last. Recommendation, visit Scrambled next door. Even if you have to wait for a table, you will be happier with the food, drinks and service.

A relaxing environment where to enjoy an amazing Southern cuisine can't even begin to describe what The Hatch is all about. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that it would be appropriate this year to go back to this restaurant and write a follow-up review, since my initial review was one of my reviews that contributed to me obtaining this highly esteemed Award. Today I decided to revisit this restaurant and enjoy some good Southern Cruise. The Host warmly greeted me and took me to my table. My server Gemma soon arrived with a big smile to take my order. I asked her if they had any Mocktails. She told me that she can have one made. I asked for a Margarita Mocktail. Amazingly she came back with three alternative Margarita's flavor. I picked the peach one. What their bartender created was a masterpiece of Mocktail. It tasted as good as it looked. To start off with I order their Hushpuppies appetizer with their special butter. They are the best Hushpuppies I've ever eaten anywhere, and I've eaten some good Hushpuppies. So crunchy in the outside and soft and flavorful in the inside. As my main entrée I once again ordered The Fried Pork Chop Dinner with fries and salad being my two sides. They make amazing Fried Pork Chops with only a tiny bone. I had their Blue Cheese salad dressing. It was all amazingly delicious, including their corn bread that was included with this entrée. The server Gemma provided excellent customer service. She graciously pointed out to me that they had reasantly introduced Peach Cobbler as a new dessert, with Vanilla Ice-cream on top. I definitely ordered it and it was a magnificent Grand Finale to a wonderfully dinning experience. I definitely highly recommend this restaurant if you want to enjoy some excellent Southern cuisine, accompanied by amazing cocktails, in a relaxing dining environment, with wonderful customer service.

So bad!! First, the restaurant is dirty. I ordered an à la cart consisting of eggs scrambled, bacon and potatoes. The eggs were dry and bacon was super fatty. All were served cold and the eggs had a funky odor. Service was very slow. Me and my guest rated this as the worst restaurant we've ever been to.

My wife had The Hatch on our short list when visiting the area. We planned to explore more of downtown including the Roanoke City Market but we did not have the time during this trip. The market is the longest running continuous city market in the country and The Hatch is located within the City Market building. We circled the block and decided to park in a 5 story parking garage nearby and walked. We arrived shortly before 5pm on a Sunday. It was not too busy and we were offered either indoor or outdoor seating. We chose to sit inside and we were seated immediately at a table and provided menus. Our server, Kimba stopped by and introduced herself and took our drink orders. As usual, we asked Kimba for suggestions on her favorite and most popular menu items. She was friendly and helpful. She also let us know they were out of both the buffalo chicken dip and potato salad. We decided to order the hush puppies and honey butter to share. My wife chose the Chicken Fried Chicken which includes fried chicken covered with gravy, two sides and a corn muffin. She chose the whipped sweet potato and coleslaw as her two sides. I chose the Buffalo Chicken Mac Bowl. Our hush puppies arrived in a timely manner and were piping hot. After they cooled a bit we had no problem polishing them off. We both love a good hush puppy, especially when served with honey butter. Kimba stopped back in to check on us and let us know she was told they are also out of coleslaw and it wouldn't be ready for 45 minutes. My wife chose the collard greens in place of the coleslaw. Our orders arrived and looked delicious! We immediately dug in and enjoyed everything. Kimba came back several times and we felt well taken care of. Overall it was a good experience but we were perplexed as to how they ran out of three staple menu items. Perhaps they were short staffed in the kitchen or maybe this was an unusual occurrence, not sure.

Unfortunately we had a less than pleasurable visit to the Hatch. We got there at 10:01 (opening time is 10:00) and were told they weren't opening because they were missing a staff member. Uh okay cool... so we waited a few mins and walked by again only to see people inside-they had opened. We sat down and were greeted, waitress was friendly but expressed she was brand new so please don't get upset with her if she messes up. Easy enough, we have all been there and we are understanding (this honestly is the only reason I left a 18% tip because I felt bad for her). Holy smokes we went to order and they were out of all the staples including WAFFLES and SALMON which is like 50% of their menu. I ordered a brunch bowl and I will say it tasted delicious but the portions are very small and I received my food 7 minutes prior to my husband so I was done eating by the time he got his. In my opinion they were seating way too many tables without enough staff. Drink service can be improved greatly, I ordered a mimosa refill, saw it sitting on the bar for almost 10 minutes before I reminded the server I had ordered it. My husband ordered the Spiked Caramel Machiatto and it was 80% whipped cream. Overall experience was not good, we won't be back, they shouldn't have even opened this morning with such short staff and being out of so much food. Also, I get its outside but there was a rat running through the outdoor seating area.

We made reservations for 5:30 December 27th, 2025. My guy got sick and was not able to physically go to the restaurant, so, I sought directions from our hotel...The Trust. I spoke with Billy who told me the restaurant was overly crowded and he wouldn't be able to deliver- so, he gave me directions to get there. Short walk from The Trust to The Hatch. Was NOT busy at all, however, the food, I ordered would take a while, since it was made to order. Deviled eggs 8.99, absolutely RIDICULOUS! They were nothing compared to the " angel eggs" I turn out of my kitchen. A complete disappointment. The Shrimp -$9.99, 5 poorly arranged small fried " spicy" shrimp arranged scantily on some wilted lettuce. Fried Chicken Dinner $15.99, leg and thigh. The leg was HUGE and not done to the bone. Very raw closer to the bone, absolutely nothing special, however, the collards greens were good, but, the macaroni and cheese was subpar. Lastly, the Chicken Ceasar Wrap- $11.99, and a complete failure. Chicken was dry, lettuce wilted and the " sauce/mayo was definitely missing. We ate what we could and QUICKLY disposed of the rest, hating we ate there. I had a glass of Cab Sauv ( Bonanza), and it was decent. $80.00 for a crap meal. I Would NOT recommend this spot... to ANY one. Sorry Billy. Your food was disgusting.

The food was delicious. I had The Southern which was a fried chicken on brioche with Mac and cheese. Finger licking good. Husband had the meatloaf and he's very picky but said that it was better than his! The collard greens side was great too. Servers are friendly. Highly recommend

Amazing dining experience!!! I haven't been to Roanoke in almost 20 years and what a surprise it was to me, to see the changes in the city, especially downtown and the foodie scene! The most pleasant dining experience was at The Hatch! Southern cuisine elevated and SIMPLY DELICIOUS!!! The Seafood Tower with lobster, shrimp and catfish...AMAZING. The fried chicken would make my grandmother cry; it's so good. We were able to find outside; mild temperatures and low humidity. Engaged with passersby, while encouraging them to come in...one couple did! Stinks were extremely reasonable and tasty. And last, but certainly not least, impeccable service. We will be coming back! Thank you to The Hatch for making our trip into Roanoke the highlight!

The food was fabulous and sooooo tasty. The catfish was the best I've ever eaten. All the food was amazing. I'm lost for words on how great the food was. The presentation was excellent as well. The service excellent! Very friendly waitress. This fine restaurant is absolutely a do over again and again!

I want to say the food was amazing... the Surf & Turf Grits had not only lamb chops but also fried lobster and grilled shrimp with cheesy grits. In my personal opinion I did not care for my drink or my to go dessert. But dinner was great. Now I will say the service was a lil slow but super friendly. If you are in rush this isn't the place for you. Would definitely go back to try new menu items when I come back to town

In town and want a great bit to eat with Southern taste and ambiance? The Hatch is the place to go! Lots of options especially Brunch type food. Food is absolutely delicious and flavorful and service is fast and so welcoming. Chelsea waited on our group(of 12) and made us feel right at home! I highly recommend!

Food was great! We got the hush puppies with honey butter as an app and then I got the Hatch sandwich as my meal. Service was very poor unfortunately. Our server was nice as could be, but took a very long time to take our order and barely came back to check on us for waters, bill etc. We had an empty water for half of the stay. She also provided our check as one single check for 3 adults without asking our preference first. I would still go there again for the food, but not if I'm in any sort of rush.

Had to wait 10+ minutes for someone to take our order. After that, had to wait at least another hour just for the food to come out. They couldn't even bring out a caesar salad during the hour which says something. Very disappointing experience.

We were in Roanoke for a doctor's appointment and wanted to try something different than what we can get in Lynchburg. After looking at reviews we decided to try The Hatch--and I am SO glad that we did. The atmosphere is so inviting with 90s music playing in the background. The staff were all especially warm and welcoming, and our server Mica was very attentive and helpful. For an appetizer we ordered six traditional breaded wings with buffalo sauce on the side. The wings were seasoned to perfection and incredibly juicy--you honestly didn't need any sauce. For our first entree, we ordered Chicken Fried Chicken with baked mac-n-cheese, whipped sweet potatoes, and cornbread. It came with two big chicken filets that were covered in delicious gravy. The cornbread was so decadent, and the whipped sweet potatoes made me want to cry they were so good. Our second entree was the Seafood Tower that includes fried shrimp, fried lobster, fried catfish, and hush puppies. For the sides we got fries and extra hush puppies, and everything about this meal was fantastic. For our third entree we ordered the Sweet Honey Nashville chicken sandwich with a side of fries. The sweet Nashville sauce deliciously paired with the savory chicken making this a fantastic sandwich. When my husband from Alabama saw they claim to have "southern comfort food," he was excited but skeptical to see if their sweet tea would be up to par. He said it definitely didn't disappoint and it tasted just like his mama had made it. Needless to say we were overwhelmingly impressed with The Hatch. We have another doctor's appointment in August and are already planning a return visit.

Service was good Appetizers were chicken wings and buffalo cauliflower, both were heavily battered and reminded us of wings out of a bag, the batter was so think on the cauliflower that some pieces had no cauliflower at all just breading Catfish was over fried I ordered a rack of ribs it came with only 4 bones the waitress said that was a 3/4 of a rack, the ribs were so mushy they had to be eaten with a fork The mashed potatoes were the worst I've ever had The best part of the meal was the hushpuppies with honey butter We will not return

Had lunch here as we needed dog friendly. My wife's salad was fine, the hush puppies were good but the shrimp and grits had 1/8 of oil/grease on the top. Should have sent it back. But we were traveling and in a bit of a hurry. I'm kicking myself as I always rely on Yelp and have never had a bad experience. This time I saw the less than stellar review but due need to eat outside I felt comfortable after reading the reviews on another platform, (Google) where they were more positive. Big mistake. I showed the waitress at the end (after getting the check ) and here words were "that's kinda gross". Nuff said but shame on the kitchen sending it out and a bit in her for not noticing the oil spill, and for me for not sending it back.

The Hatch was excellent. Good food and excellent service from Ciera. We'd come again.

I came in to Roanoke very eager to experience their shrimp in grits. Had them in Charlotte in Dec. they were scrumptious. The dish came out with cold not luke warm but cold grits & hot shrimp. Both of ourder. My friend had the surf and turf that comes with shrimp & grits, lobster tail & lamb chops. The entee' came w% o the lobster tail. We sent both dishes back. The grits were to cheese without any creo seasoning. Just butter and cheese & milk i assume.We are great cooks & to beat all they microwaved our whole plated so the shrimp wS tuff when it returned to use. They gave us 8 perfectly cooked shrimp we bought those home & thrashed the meal. Drink was very good. 70.00 waisted. I will never go back. Seriously, I see why their reviews are not good. M.Petty​

Had to leave. Scrambled eggs served in two small bowls, over cooked and ice cold. Bacon greasy. Nothing positive except waitress was extremely pleasant.

We stumbled on this place when we were looking for a simple diner with breakfast. And wow, what a fantastic place to discover! The food was a delicious southern food at its best. My husband had the surf and turf cheesy grits, and the tiny nibble I was able to steal was delicious!! I had the waffle sliders, which is a handheld (but better eaten with knife and fork) version of chicken and waffles. Beware the powered sugar as you are eating these, our table looked like a snow storm had blown through. The restaurant had a very upbeat and happy atmosphere. People laughing and trying to find out what everyone else had ordered. Our waitress, Chelsea, just added to the happy vibe. We were there late morning, just before the lunch crowd and would highly recommend this restaurant for someone looking for a weekday brunch or really good entrees.

On his rainy day in Roanoke I found myself in the mood for ribs. I made the mistake of selecting The Hatch. Won't do that again! The ribs sure did not meet the "fall of the bone" test. You, in fact, had to pry off the meat with a knife and fork. The sauce was very thin and tasted like tomato juice. I love creamy cold slaw, but not drowned in mayonnaise! On a positive side, the service was good and the bake beans were excellent. I just would not recommend The Hatch for ribs. not recommend it for ribs

So I tried this place the other night and found the Shrimp and Grits to be good. Today I came back and got the spicy crunchy shrimp. I requested the cabbage and sauce on the side. I received 5 sad shrimp and wilted lettuce. The devil eggs were incredibly bland. They tasted like a boiled egg with old bacon on top of wilted lettuce with a little razzle of paprika. I don't think disappointed is a strong enough word.

I stopped at this restaurant while traveling south and again when going back home. The fried green tomatoes & fried chicken made it worth the stop. The foods have a red tinge to them so I asked what the secret was. The waitress said that they had their own mix of spices but it was not for sale.

This is some of the most bland food I've had in a long time. Not only was my food bland, all four of us as a group agreed it was super unappealing. The vibes are good and service good but food is horribly disappointing.

Josh offered great service made the evening! Food was good, catfish stood out and the salmon bites, was not a fan of the Mac and cheese it was a little grease. Overall though it was amazing!

Service was great. It's a casual eatery with basic food but very good. And price was great. We had the wings which we thought were meaty and well prepared. The ribs were tasty and the PoBoy was excellent. The Cobb salad was ok. Basic but satisfying. We enjoyed our meal and would go back. Casual and simple good food.

The salmon and shrimp meal was delicious. Jenny was a sweetheart and the mimosas were delicious. Definitely a go to for brunch with friends.

All in all, tasty food with a few hiccups. The chicken was dry from being fried too long and my mom got the wings which also were dry. We ordered hush puppies as a starter which also had been fried too long and looked burnt, and were dry. The macaroni salad was delicious and the fries were perfectly seasoned. The service was great as well. Being from the South, I don't think this restaurant could hang with the best southern restaurants, but that being said, the flavors were all there, just the person doing the frying needs to be quicker on the draw.

Visited on a Saturday night,surprisingly slow, was seated by tall lanky waiter that I think was also bartender, brought a menu and a water I requested when seated, lat time I saw him for about 10 minutes, finally returned to take order, I wanted ribs as it's a house special and highly reviewed, informed they were out, requested meatloaf also highly reviewed, also out, when I informed waiter I need a coupled of minutes to look over choices again, he disappeared for another 10 minutes, I was ready to just leave and another waitress that noticed I had been waiting for long time asked if she could help,I said yes and asked a question about a combo platter, she said hold on I will get your original server, he appeared quickly. Answering all my questions and was friendly, ordered chicken fried chicken platter with sweet potatoes and mack and cheese, sides were to die for, hot tasty, chicken not so much, 2 pieces, 1 was tender, warm, other was tough and cold, once again server disappeared, never offered a refill or checked on my order, finished and finally had to ask another waitress if she could get me a bill, she retrieved my waiter who was all smiles and can I get u anything, sorry bud, too late, just bill please, brought bill and disappeared Again, luckily I had cash so just left it on table and proceeded to leave. When thus disappearing server stops me sticking a bar code if some type in my face asking for a review, told him I prefer to do it later, well here it is overall food was average but service SUCKED​​

Surly server who looked like she wanted to be anywhere else, expensive prices for what you got, and very seasoned food - this was our experience. I don't know what the small portion (and a bowl) of chicken and dumplings were, but they weren't chicken and dumplings. Curry? Maybe. Thyme? Basil? Not sure. Canned peas? Did they just warm up some Chunky canned and put dumplings and curry in it? Very suspect. VERY salty. Hubby's sandwich had a hair on it. Tiny portion of banana pudding, brought to the table in a to go cup, was over $5. It was delicious, but at least serve in house diners the food in a bowl. Sad to say, we won't be back.

The food is amazing, we had the Southern fried chicken and the Seafood tower, it all tasted perfectly delicious. Our girl Kimba was very friendly and attentive, the owner came by our table as well and we were very impressed by her story on how they started and where they are headed. The place was clean and very soothing atmosphere. The music was just loud enough to be pleasant

I made a terrible choice by choosing this for my family. The server was nice enough. We waited over an hour for our food and when it came out it was COLD and DISGUSTING. The bbq sauce on the ribs was congealed, the mac and cheese was cold, collards cold and salty. The seafood tower was a joke, greasy fried seafood, that looked like they never allowed the grease drain. It looks like they dumped it right on the plate from the basket. This was a big failure. They offered to warm my food in the microwave, umh yeah, no thanks!

The food is superb. I had the best fried catfish I have had out for awhile. The service was prompt and attentive. The ambience worked for me. I was able to sit at a high table the bar .

reviewed the menu before stopping by for dinner, but when we got there -- drunk man singing at the bar inside, it smelled of old grease so we moved to the outdoor seating area, sweet tea was very watered down and then when we went to order.. macaroni and cheese options were sold out. pro -- friendly staff

Been to brunch there twice almost a year apart and the food is just ok. Wasn't pleased with the environment either as we were sat inside yet had to wave away flies frequently. Was also told they could not bring me coffee right away because they were out of coffee mugs and would have to wait for somebody else to finish their coffee to have another mug. They gave coffee creamer out in proportioned plastic cups. My friend asked for a non dairy option and they returned with her coffee and regular creamer saying they had no non diary option. The staff was friendly but not service oriented enough and lacked professionalism. I live locally and want this place to thrive but they need to make some major improvements.

The food was like eating out of grandma's kitchen! Delicious chicken and porkchops! And the hush puppies and mashed potatoes were to die for. Homemade honey butter and chicken gravy were excellent. And Nikki was an outstanding server. Highly recommended!

Food was cold, some was barely edible. Service was mediocre at best. Overpriced. Don't go there!

The portions were very small and very overpriced. The waitress was very nice. The building was pretty.

Overall, the food was tasty and valued well but mashed potatoes were cold. Our server was very pleasant and friendly but inexperienced. There was confusion about our drink order (directly from their cocktail menu) and it was about a 20 minute wait before she even came back to clarify. She said they were slammed although it didn't look busy and it was over a half hour before we got our drinks. She came back later and apologized again letting us know they were out of sides we ordered. She said they were very busy and it would be about 25-30 minutes still before our food arrived. We were not in a hurry so it a huge inconvenience, but definitely took too long.

This is one of several times i've been here, but this one stood out. It was incredibly busy and our server was behind the bar making drinks. Luckily we were sitting quite close to the bar and she ended up taking our order while she was making drinks. As a server the multitasking was super impressive. I don't think i've ever been here when the service was slow and then being busy just added to the impressiveness. The food here is always incredible and they have a ton of allergy and gluten friendly options. Although the place is small they make the most of their space. Overall this is an excellent option for a meal if you're in downtown roanoke!
