My good friend and I checked out the Koji Kafe today for lunch. Our other friend had mentioned she enjoyed a lunch there recently so we thought we would give it a go.
The grounds are spectacular. Very peaceful and serene setting.
The entrance to The Haven has access to all of its amenities. The swimming pool, exercise room, spa and cafe are all right there. It was nicely decorated with some really elegant sculpture pieces.
The woman at reception was pleasant enough. We asked about the restaurant.
The restaurant had three areas: 1. outside on the patio, 2 outside under a roof, 3 inside. We opted for the outside under a roof as it started to rain.
We were the only people there to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The rain had brightened up all the different shades of green and when the sun came out, it just lit up the patio area. Breathtaking.
My friend had ordered MAGURO SAKANA TOWER- $13.50. It was beautifully presented and she said it was as delicious as it was beautiful. It looked very appetizing!
I ordered the CRISPY KOJI BEEF- $13.50 Small bites of Koji aged beef, Lightly breaded with Rice flour, then fried and served with a homemade prepared sauce of our own Koji Soy, Ginger, and spices, accompanied of the traditional steamed rice. This dish is a little spicy in the traditonal Cantonese style.
I really enjoyed this dish. The meat was crispy but very tender. The rice was a bit sweet which complimented the saltiness and spices of the meat. I found it to be very filling.
Our server was also the chef. He was very efficient and gracious.
I would recommend The Haven!! Go and see for yourself!!
And maybe have a massage
or a swim!
