London's New Crop of Pubs with Rooms for Overnight Guests - AFAR

"A Notting Hill pub offering eight en suite rooms across three upper floors that were recently refurbished with whitewashed wood furnishings, charming wallpaper, tufted headboards, and Posturepedic beds dressed with houndstooth wool throws; rooms come with bathrobes and slippers and can be reached via the bar or a separate street entrance. The downstairs gastropub—with leather booths and tin ceilings—emphasizes cozy details and a strong craft-beer and cocktail program, featuring offbeat brews such as a peanut butter milk stout and the Grafton Grappler craft lager, making it a stylish, comfortable neighborhood base." - Sara Lieberman

A Perfectly Cozy & Delicious Sunday at The Hayden Pub & Rooms Located conveniently close to Hyde Park, this swanky corner pub and rooms is easily the best in the neighborhood. It's always bustling with a trendy, lively crowd, creating an energy that's infectious without being overwhelming. Even with the rain and cold outside today, the atmosphere inside was pure comfort. They had the simulator fireplace flickering, which added such a charming, cozy touch—it felt like settling in for the afternoon. The staff here are truly exceptional; they were extremely accommodating despite how busy it was, which makes a huge difference. We enjoyed a classic British spread: the Sunday Roast was delicious and hearty, and the Fish and Chips were perfectly executed—they definitely live up to the claim of boasting the largest fish in London! The food is consistently good, matching the classic and inviting pub ambiance. Whether you’re looking for a delicious meal or just a lively spot for a drink, this place never disappoints. Highly recommended!

Came in to try sticky toffee pudding before leaving London. It was sweet, smooth, and rich. It was warm and balanced by the ice cream. I would definitely recommend it from here!

Really great place to stay in London - nice rooms (amazingly quiet!), comfortable and well appointed. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming, free arrival drink a nice touch. Pub itself is a nice spot in an evening - good food and atmosphere.

My husband and I stayed for 6 nights in July and it was absolutely superb, in fact perfect. The staff were so incredibly lovely- every one of them. And so helpful , attentive to our every need. Just a really friendly fun atmosphere throughout the whole pub.The food here is delicious and such a great variety. Our room was spotlessly clean and spacious but also cozy with the gorgeous decor.Such a great location! Walking distance to at least 3 train stations. Beautiful area surrounding the place aswell, lots of shops and parks. We can’t wait to come back and stay again. Thank you.

Absolutely enjoyed my stay at The Hayden Pub & Rooms. Management and staff are fantastic: kind, helpful and welcoming. The food in the restaurant is delicious. Location is great: (1) there are three Tube stations (Bayswater, Queensway and Royal Oak) a short walk from the Hayden and (2) just steps away there are several bus routes that can take you anywhere. What I truly appreciated most was that all in-room snacks, coffee and drinks are complimentary -- no "honesty bar" items that take up space on desk or in the mini fridge! Highly recommend

As a solo female traveler visiting London in February, I was looking for somewhere with an excellent location and enough foot traffic to feel secure. This place delivered on every front. I stayed in a deluxe double room for three nights and it exceeded expectations. The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and surprisingly quiet despite being above the lively restaurant and pub. The housekeeping was impeccable, and I loved the charming decor with dogs in adorable uniforms throughout. The convenience was unbeatable. When exhausted from exploring, having quality food and drinks downstairs was a lifesaver. Everything was delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming without being overwhelming. The location couldn't be better, surrounded by shops with an easy walk to the train stations. I felt completely safe walking back from evening trains. I appreciated the separate entrance to rooms, giving flexibility to bypass the social areas when heading straight upstairs/downstairs. It's the perfect blend of hotel convenience with bed and breakfast charm. Being a short stroll from Portobello Market was the cherry on top. The staff were genuinely friendly and seemed to enjoy their work. The managers I chatted with were particularly welcoming and professional. This struck the perfect balance for solo travel: safe, convenient, charming, and social when you want it to be. If I plan another solo London adventure, this will absolutely be my first choice. Highly recommended for solo travelers or anyone wanting a perfectly located London base.
