Me and my husband had a wonderful stay at The Headland Hotel for our anniversary! Parking was easy and free, which made arriving and checking in simple. The hotel has a lovely feel to it, family run, set within a Grade II–listed building which overlooks the ocean with spectacular views. Before check-in, we had lunch in the Ballroom, which was a nice way to start our visit. We also made use of the complimentary Spa and AquaClub facilities, and the heated indoor and outdoor pools were a real bonus, perfect for relaxing, especially at this cold time of year! Our room was one of the Best Double Rooms, with dual views over the Newquay coastline and Fistral Beach. The bath with a view was a really nice touch. In the evening, we ate at Restaurant Renmor and had an amazing meal! There were lots of mocktail options too, which I really appreciated as I’m pregnant and all the ones I tried were very delicious! For breakfast, there was a wide selection on the continental buffet, including fresh bread, locally sourced jams and honey, cereals, cheeses, yoghurts, fresh fruit, juices, and much more. You could also order one hot item from the menu. Overall, a special stay in a great location with good food, friendly service, and lovely facilities. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

We booked the front row sea view cottage. Fabulous location. Really comfy beds. Everything you need and fabulous views of the sea. Hotel is lovely. 2 restaurants on site with nice selection. Not cheap but good quality. Highly recommended.

Really lovely stay at The Headland, I stayed in a cosy room and it was perfect for a relaxed evening. The Aqua Club is fab, the outdoor area is lovely and under the cold night sky with the rain coming down the contrast of the hot pool and hot tub with the cool night air was delightful! The same goes for during the day looking out across the ocean. The lady on reception was super helpful, I can’t remember her name - long red hair. She was welcoming, warm and a great person to have greeting guests. My only let down was that breakfast in the morning, a drinks order was taken and then no one returned for a food order. My tea was delivered and the waiter scurried off quickly without asking for my breakfast order. I didn’t mind initially as I wasn’t in a rush but after half an hour of no staff approaching and me repeatedly trying to catch eye contact to ask for an order which was a futile effort, I heard the gentleman on the table next to me say to a member of staff clearing the table ‘I think the lady next to me has been forgotten’. Shortly afterwards an order was taken but the staff member didn’t seem particularly friendly and the whole thing felt a bit uncomfortable. When breakfast did come (45mins after being seated) it was okay although the wait was excessive, it was no better than anything I would cook at home and I wish I had just ordered to my room like my friend who ordered about 20 minutes after I went for breakfast and ate well before me. Overall I would definitely recommend The Headland for an enjoyable and relaxing weekend away (longer if you aren’t local). It is a good spot to enjoy Newquay and most things are in walking distance including bars, restaurants and of course Fistral beach on your doorstep. Plus the Aqua Club and the spa are a great way to unwind and relax.

We were incredibly lucky to receive a honeymoon voucher from very special friends as a wedding gift, which we used for a mini-moon weekend break at The Headland Hotel. It was the perfect way to celebrate the start of married life. A huge shout-out to Michelle Marks, who handled our reservation and was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. She went above and beyond by organising a special dinner for us and placing us in the most beautiful suite, which made the whole experience feel extra special. Everything about our stay was wonderful, and we are so grateful both to our friends for such a thoughtful gift and to the team at The Headland especially Michelle for making our mini-moon truly unforgettable. A genuine 5-star all rounder! Our room looked & smelled delightful, the view impeccable, even on a stormy day. The hotel service was perfect, reception staff answered our questions professionally & politely. The spa was fantastic (especially in the rain!), and the bar staff all lovely.

Visited the Aqua Club for the sunrise dip and dine package. It was an excellent experience; the pools are lovely, a great selection of indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzi's so we felt very relaxed afterwards. Towels and robes are provided which was a nice touch as well. Changing rooms were clean and spacious. We then went to the deck restaurant for our brunch which was delicious. You got a juice, hot drink, pastry, waffle/granola and then a hot dish all included in the price which was excellent value for money and delicious. Great to sit and look out over the outdoor pools to the sea. Highly recommend a visit!

Three nights of luxury, relaxation, and dog-friendly everything! My friend and I had a smallish twin room and my little dog. EVERY room in the hotel has a sea view and everything was top-quality. I'd booked for my dog, and was provided with a blanket, dog bowl and poo bags. The staff were soooo welcoming and dog-friendly, and really helpful. I was told that the concierge could book a dog-sitter for when we used the AquaClub, and I will do that next time. Oh my! The AquaClub! It was fantastic! Indoor and outdoor pools, spacious, fun, and all the bubbles you could want. Breakfasts were fantastic and suitable for gluten-free (thank you!), and the host was so thoughtful, even ensuring that guests with dogs were not seated too close together, just in case, although every dog we encountered was friendly. But a nice touch. Genuinely felt welcome there and nothing was too much trouble, from the housekeeping staff, concierge, waiting staff and reception. The Headland Hotel knows how to do luxury and service without being stuffy.

Yelp
My sister-in-law found this hotel through Condé Nast or the like and wanted to go enough that we decided on Cornwall instead of Wales for our weekend in the UK with her. The hotel is old and classic, but modernized enough to be thoroughly comfortable. We got a room facing the pitch and putt out front, complete with double bed and built in bunks through a travel website for the last weekend in August. The room was large and well-appointed with comfortable beds and crisp linens. The sink taps were separate for hot and cold, and the shower either ran borderline-burning hot or cold. There was very little air flow in the room unless the window was open. The hotel was classically decorated. I loved the "library" on the 1st floor with its book wallpaper, LEGO model of the hotel, and modern dog lounger. There's a large double stair case, with seating at each level, much needed since the elevator isn't terribly fast. The lounge area, which we were told used to be the ballroom, had a seating area at each window to enjoy the views. There was a patio outside with a glass windbreak for the same purpose. There's a spa area downstairs, and there's a booklet full of treatments available. We didn't try to book any, but we did enjoy the pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and aromatherapy showers. While in the sauna, another guest informed us that they were booked for 48 hours solid anyway. Just having access to the aromatherapy showers was a lovely treat after a day of hiking in the coastal air. We ate our evening meals in the lounge area, not having seating at the Terrace (the casual restaurant), not having brought proper dress for the formal dining room, and enjoying the comfy chairs and couches. The full Terrace menu was available. The first night we quite enjoyed the mussels, rocket salad, fresh herbed mozzarella balls, the soup of the day, and the 5 Super Food salad (which changes daily, but always features 5 super foods, so you get the key nutrients in one sitting). Everything was tasty, especially that salad. The second evening, we split the vegetarian platter and the small version of the super food salad. We were quite full the second evening from enjoying cheese and crackers (which we bought at the Sainsbury's in town) while watching the sunset from one of the brick alcoves built into the seaside hill below the hotel. There about 2 dozen alcoves of brick or stone built along the side facing the beach or the coast, though only a couple had chairs. I would think they would've been quite crowded at a different point in the season, since they afforded such lovely views and provided just enough a windbreak. They're incredibly dog friendly and kid friendly. There were dogs and kids running around everywhere the whole weekend. Many folks brought their dogs and kids into the lounge area while they dined. Obviously, you go for the views, but the hotel was a lovely enough experience on its own to make it worth the trip.

Yelp
Sorry - the hotel was great in many ways. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, the beds were comfortable and overall the service was pretty good. The views were great. However, the shower cannot keep one temperature - complaints among three rooms that my family members were in. That is ridiculous - its 2012 and we are in a developed country. At midnight the alarm on my clock went off. Again, the room maid should be checking that during every cleaning between guests to make sure that doesn't happen. I asked someone to come up in fix it. They sent someone up who hadn't touched one before and was new. After three or four minutes I asked him if he knew what he was doing and he said he didn't ......... I asked him to leave and just unplugged it. My cousin had her wedding here and it went perfectly. I would give it five stars on that.

Yelp
If you are in Newquay and not a B&B type of gal, this is the only must place to stay. It is so old world England, you would do yourself a disservice not to stay here and experience it. Walking on the cliffs at sunset is surreal.

Yelp
Our family had a birthday celebration whilst on holiday in Newquay so we decided to push the boat out and go for fine dining at the Headland. We were not disappointed in the quality of food, the service at the table was impeccable by the staff and the overall dinning experience was just perfect. 8 Happy customers and a nice sunset to boot. Points to note- its not cheap, you need to get a parking permit from the reception if only eating in the restaurant.
