It was our first trip to the New Zealand and I went back and forth about whether or not to stay a few days in Glenorchy. We definitely made the right decision, and staying at the Headwaters Glenorchy Eco Lodge was one of the highlights of our entire trip. It's an amazing accommodation with excellent service and dining. We can't wait to return!

The Headwaters Ecolodge exceeded every expectation! It is the perfect slice of paradise. There is a spiritual sense of nature and community that embraced us here. The views, the birds and sheep, the culture, the pace of life, and most importantly- the people. ️||The lodge was full of beautiful touches, the food was spectacular, and the service staff wonderfully kind! Loved being able to walk across the street to Mrs Wooly’s for coffee and a treat! The fact that I was also contributing to a sustainable planet by staying at a facility that creates its own energy made me feel great about my choice!

The location is stunning. If you are looking for a piece of heaven on earth, Glenorchy is the place. The Eco Lodge is the best place to stay because it blends in with nature. The space was created with environmental preservation in mind. But I felt the connection with the place. While driving or walking in the region, I could not help but contemplate the place's beauty. If you need peace for yourself, you will find it there. Sleeping in there was better than sleeping in the most expensive hotels in the world. I found out that their sky is among the three most beautiful skies in the world. We went for a walk in the middle of the night to admire the sky. During the day, we went for walks or drove around the mountains. We started the day with a very special breakfast. The staff is friendly and very nice. The food is delicious. We also had dinner there. The chef cooked the most delicious meal. We loved it. They also have a great selection of wines. You can drive to Queenstown. We stayed there for four nights. It was the best thing I could do for myself. I almost forgot to mention the air quality, which is impressive. Also, the Headwaters' room has an air purifier machine that cleans the air inside the room, I believe by removing the CO2. I was amazed that by the second day of waking up there, I was feeling incredibly well. I think Glenorchy is the best place to reconnect, recharge, and feel happy.

A huge thank you to Ingrid, Kirsty and the team at Headwaters Eco Lodge. We recently booked out the lodge for a large family event, using it as our base while enjoying many of the incredible activities Glenorchy has to offer. Coordinating an event of this size can be stressful, but Ingrid and her team went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Despite challenging weather and unexpected roadblocks, they handled every moving part with true professionalism, all while accommodating individual requests from guests with varying needs. Our group ranged from one to eighty years old, and every single person felt considered. Everyone had an amazing time and is still talking about the outstanding food from DJ and his team. Even after our final night dining at a well-known Queenstown restaurant, guests commented that they missed the food at Headwaters. Hospitality is never easy, and I’m incredibly grateful for the care, effort and dedication that made this family event such a memorable and special experience. Thank you.

Didn't know what to expect but in the end was very pleasantly surprised.|Accommodation was first rate with very comfortable and well appointed rooms. |We also had the chefs meal also great.|The story behind the lodge is interesting in itself where the original developers ( Paul and Debbi Brainerd) have gifted the lodge into a charitable trust where any profits are kept in the community.|The lodge looks low tech but the actual tech driving things was impressive to the point the lodge is net positive.|Great stay and great story

We ended up in Glenorchy on a whim after we had to reschedule our trip. It quickly become a highlight. The team at Headwaters were so welcoming, everything was above and beyond and dinner was the best meal of our trip. We still talk about it and can’t wait to be back (for more than one night!)

We were for the New Year's Eve, we did not stay overnight. The food is good, good and good. And well served with a wonderful wine pairing. The building is a real museum. Unforgettable experience.
