We just spent a few days at The Hedges, a place I have visited several times. The service was outstanding, the meals excellent, and the views outstanding. The best part was a morning canoe trip on Blue Mountain Lake watching the sunrise. We also visited the Adirondack Experience and did some hiking- Castle Rock. It was a memorable trip.

What a gem! Their cabins redefine the definition of a cabin! Every staff member embodies The Hedges organizational culture. We love our time there especially the Lake, restaurant, library, and other rooms.

Wonderful place. We have vacationed there every year for about 12-15 years

It is always such a treasure to be able to spend time at the hedges. This stay was just as excellent. My family and I had a quiet and fun stay. Everyone that works at the Hedges are polite, kind, helpful and welcoming, often going above and beyond to make our stay special. You can't beat having exceptional meals, access to water crafts and immaculate rooms. We also had the pleasure to partake in a pastel class, an astronomy talk and of course a nightly bonfire with yummy snacks provided. If you plan to take a trip to the Adirondacks I can't suggest a stay at the hedges more!

Lovely historical lodges and cabins right on the lake. The food and the service is wonderful! However, the rooms and bathrooms need a little spiffing up. The carpets really need to be replaced in the lodge where we stayed. The staff is very friendly and goes way out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one.

Great location and facility. Modern conveniences in the great camp tradition. Rooms are clean and have that rustic feel. Very friendly and competent staff and the Romanian student workers are a joy. Food is excellent and copious. Views of BML and environs are beautiful. Many water conveyances provided. Tennis court, game room, pavillion. Grounds are lovely and a nice nature trail is on site. The gift shop has quality items. Many hikes, easy and hard, are within 5 minutes. The ADK museum is 5 minutes away. A great time rain or shine.

Yelp
Great place to stay! The food and staff are both wonderful. The rooms are beautiful and the resort is in a great location!

Yelp
We always try to get a dinner red there when vacationing in Indian Lake. It can be difficult because they have to accommodate their in-house guests first. But they are always delightful and ready to help even putting me on a cancellation list. It is worth going just to see the magnificence of this historic register find. We always enjoy their cocktails and $44 for a complete meal is a bargain. Soup salad, entrée, and dessert with fresh baked rolls Makes for a delightful dinner. I have never had a bad meal there. They have Romanian students do all the serving and they couldn't be more accommodating. One of my favorite places in the Adirondacks for sure.

Yelp
Amazingly beautiful cabins and lodge on Blue Mountain Lake, NY. Cabins are nicely decorated and equipped with modern showers and other bathroom fixtures. Beds are comfortable and the room is complimented with a refrigerator and a front porch overlooking the lake. Your price to stay includes a full menu hearty breakfast and a four course dinner. The meals are prepared by the resident chef and everything is delicious and the portions are plenty, all served in the historic dining lodge with a large fireplace and decorated in pure adirondack style. This is my second year coming here and I will continue to return year after year. The Hedges at Blue Mountain Lake is a wonderful place to vacation. FYI The hedges have canoes and kayaks available to all guests for use on the lake. Just a five minute drive to the adirondack museum.

Yelp
Currently staying at the hedges. Super fun place, lots of space for kids to run around, game room with ping pong, pool table etc. Two areas to swim and also kayaks and canoes to take out. Food is awesome and the staff is super accompanying. Rooms are campy Adirondack but clean and there's housekeeping daily. Would return to the hedges.

Yelp
An amazing gem on Blue Mountain Lake. An authentic Adirondack Great Camp! We like it so much we're coming back in three months. Lodging includes breakfast and a four course evening meal as well as usage of canoes, kayaks, and bikes! I hesitate to write this as I don't want the secret to get out! Worth every penny!

Yelp
We are so excited to be returning to the Hedges this fall for our anniversary - we have been several times before and were disappointed to have missed a stay last year. The Hedges is like walking back in time to a beautiful great camp, a beautiful wrap around porch, and a vista that is breathtaking. Relaxing dinning lodge with wonderful food - morning breakfast - a boxed lunch if you so choose and then a scrumptious dinner while over looking Blue Mountain Lake. Excited to be going back in Oct. when the leaves are turning and the morning and evenings have that fall crisp feel. See you in October Tom and Cindy Mahoney

Yelp
The Hedges is open for the 2018 season, and we can't wait to be there for our vacation. This is one of the few remaining Adirondack Great Camps open to the public. You will feel very Gatsby-gone-camping in this rustic but elegant lakeside retreat in one of the most beautiful settings within the Adirondack Park. Lodging, breakfast, dinner, snacks, canoes, tennis, campfires, and kayaks are included in the tariff. The service is excellent, the facility shows an eye for detail, and the guests (many returning for generations) are friendly and interesting folks. Couples, singles, and families will find plenty to do on property, around the lake, in the woods, or at area museums. Beyond summer, consider Spring fishing or Fall foliage -you can't go wrong.

Yelp
We wish we could have spent more time here. It is the old-time resort of your dreams: beautiful lake for swimming, kayaking, or canoeing; upscale "camp" accommodations (we stayed in Stone Lodge, which offered a porch with swing, rocking chairs, and lake view, as well as a very comfortable queen-bedroom with private bath); a dining room staffed by charming young people; opportunities to meet other guests and to socialize at the camp fire...or not...reading on the porch or in front of the fireplace was my favorite down-time past time...

Yelp
Glamping in the Adirondacks at its best! We spent a week at The Hedges with our family: two retirees, two young middle-angers and two under-five grandchildren. There was something for everyone, very safe, very good meals and with kayaks, canoes and paddle boards included. When you factor in breakfast and dinner the pricing is very competitive and well worth it. The lake is as clean and pristine as anyone could hope. Even has wifi throughout but, mercifully, no business center or TV's. The kids quickly learned to do without those things and went to bed tired every night! Definitely will be returning next year.

Yelp
The Hedges was a great get-a-way in the mountains. The lakefront views and sunsets are gorgeous. The cabins, although not luxurious (take your hairdryer! and no ac) are clean and comfortable. We stayed in the twin which was perfect for us. Sitting on the front porch (in Adirondack chairs, of course!) was lovely. The included breakfast and dinner were very good, with non-alcoholic beverages available all day (no alcohol served there, but they say that is due to change in ownership and liquor license issues which are expected to be resolved in 2019, but you can bring your own) and cookies and popcorn at night. After dinner each night was a speaker at the outside lean to. We saw an astronomer, historian and park ranger, all interesting. Everyone working there, mostly students from Russia and Romania, were very nice and helpful. They have canoes and kayaks available (the lakes are great for this), chairs along the lakefront, a small swimming area for children and a larger deeper one for adults. We also took nearby boat and seaplane tours which were very enjoyable.
