The Helix Bridge is one of those places that quietly surprises you. At first glance it’s “just a bridge”, but once you start walking across it you realise how special it really is.
The spiral design is striking and feels very futuristic, especially in the evening when the whole structure lights up. From the viewing platforms you get some of the best views of Marina Bay Sands, the ArtScience Museum and the Singapore skyline – it’s a fantastic spot for photos, particularly at sunset or after dark.
It’s wide, easy to walk and completely free, which makes it perfect to include while exploring the Marina Bay area. We stopped several times just to take in the views and enjoy the atmosphere.
It’s not something you would travel across the city just to see on its own, but as part of a Marina Bay walk it’s an absolute must. Simple, elegant and very memorable.
