The Helm Seafood Parlour

Anna Kate was our server, and she did an excellent job. You found a great new team member with her, her fourth day on the job, thought she was a long time team member! Her service was impeccable! Onto the food! This restaurant is a bright shiny star in the land of restaurants that only serve bar food! What we had, beef tartare, really excellent! I rarely eat this out. As an accomplished chef, I only eat this when I make it. It was fresh and delicious! I did not care for the aoli, my own personal preference! Bread served with the tartare was hard! It's as if Anna Kate read my mind, and without asking, placed a plate of fresh, lightly toasted bread on the table, superb! We also had the special benny of the day. Perfectly poached eggs on French toast with maple syrup and hollandaise sauce, apples and pecans and pork belly, sprinkled with pecans, delicious! Served with a side of pineapple coleslaw. Slaw was not mayo drenched! Yay! This restaurant chef knows how to chef! A diverse menu, small and done right! I believe there were 6 different types of oysters offered too. Those are for another day! Dessert was super spectacular too, sour orange pie, just amazing! The restaurant is so wonderfully decorated too! With care! Four stars, because the napkins smelled bad. Try a new linen service and softer napkins. And there were no paper towels in the bathroom. We'll definitely be back! Keep up the good job!

Patio seating on a sunny, beautiful day was perfect for me and my family today. The food was great but what really made it a 10/10 was the service, AK was attentive and gave us top tier interactions with smiles and laughs. We will definitely be back!

My family absolutely loved this place! Very elevated experience from the service, flavor of food, and overall atmosphere. Starting off strong with Chap being our server and crushing it at his job. Not a single thing was asked for, when he notices something was off or needed adjustments it was already taken care of before anyone at our table realized. The food was actually so good it made us all sit back and just sat “wow!”. The cinnamon roll had the perfect amount of sweetness. My entrée was the special for this season and it was incredible. I will 100% be back for next season’s menu whenever that comes out!

Definitely worth checking out. We sat outside, and though it's on Gulf Blvd, it wasn't at all noisy. The whipped feta app was incredible and the lobster grilled cheese was decadent, but surprisingly not too rich. A little pricey at $32. I wouldn't recommend getting the mimosa flight when seated outside. Unless they find a better way to keep it cold, it was warm by the time I had any. Our waitress was good, but the waiter who sat us seemed bothered to be doing his job. I noticed a couple members of the wait staff putting off this vibe. Overall, very good and would try again.

My husband and I had a wonderful lunch here. We were in town visiting for a few days and this was my favorite meal, by far. Started off with the tavern cornbread- SO good!!! And I had the lobster grilled cheese which was amazing! Our server was super nice and the vibe of the place is cute. Great attention to detail. Loved it and can’t wait to come back.

Can't believe it took us so long to try this place. First off the service is wonderful! The food is great! Our server was wonderful, she had so many great recommendations! We started with the oysters and they were so delicious with spinach and cheese, they were HUGE so flavorful! Then my husband had the salmon salad the piece of fish was huge! He really enjoyed it and said it was delicious. I had the lobster grilled cheese, it was packed with lobster and had a great crispy bread! We will definitely be returning to try other recommendations. Love the decor as well!!!

The setting at The Helm is beautiful, and I was really looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Our server, Patrick, didn’t come to our table for 30 minutes, and after that no one checked on us. The service never improved. The food was just okay, nothing great and $32 for a mediocre lobster sandwich felt overpriced. The drinks were expensive as well. Overall, it wasn’t a good experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The server was very attentive and did a fantastic job! The food was great and presented like we should be dressed up more than we were..... drinks were unique and tasty. We didn't know what to expect, but happy we did! Top shelf!
