The Hendrick Smithfield

We found ourselves stuck in Dublin for 2 nights during a winter storm. We were able to get 2 rooms at The Hendrick for a great price at the last minute. On the way to the hotel I left my purse with wallet and passport in the taxi. Tobias, the wonderful guy who helped check us in, figured out how to pull CCTV and quickly found the taxi that dropped us off. He worked with the police to communicate this information and followed up with me to let me know that they were working on tracking the driver down. I got all of my things back in just a few hours. The hotel was so nice. The bed was one of the comfiest in all of multiple hotels we stayed in on this trip. There was great music in the lobby and a really great vibe all around. The location was close to the train and there was plenty of coffee and cafes close by. I wish we could have stayed so much longer. Special shout out to Tobias who totally saved the day and my vacation. Can’t wait to go stay at The Hendrick again!!

I had such a wonderful stay! From the moment I arrived, the service exceeded my expectations. A special shout-out to Karishma, who was incredibly nice, patient, and kind throughout my stay. She truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. All the staff members were just as welcoming and friendly. Every interaction felt warm and genuine, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The hotel itself was comfortable and well-kept, but the service is what truly stood out. Highly recommended — I’d definitely stay here again!

The rooms are very small, but sufficient if you only use them for sleeping. Spending time in the room during the day is quite limited. To be fair, this is clearly visible in the pictures on the website. Thanks to the building’s architecture, most rooms face the inner courtyard, which keeps street noise to a minimum. However, sound insulation between rooms is poor, so earplugs are recommended. Unfortunately, the windows cannot be opened and the bathroom ventilation did not work during our stay, which caused high humidity. The location is ideal if you want to visit the busy city center but sleep in a calmer part of the city. You can reach famous pubs like Temple Bar in about a 15-minute walk, and there are also several bars close to the hotel. The staff members where very friendly!

I had a great stay at the Hendrick Smithfield. The hotel itself provided everything I needed and wanted. It was about a 20-30 odd minute walk into the city for those happy to walk, but close to the Luas. The hotel had good Wi-Fi (and could cast to the TV easily!), hairdryer, lovely complimentary shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, big comfy bed, and clean room and bathroom. There was a kiosk with snacks at the bar which was handy after getting back to the hotel after all restaurants and shops had closed on a Sunday night. Others had noted in reviews that the rooms were small but as a solo traveler that didn't bother me. Check in was done online before arriving so it was quick picking up my key. Check out they just have a drop box for keys if no one is there. The only little things I'd wished were different were that I'd brought earplugs due to the occasional noisy person or slamming door late at night. I did appreciate that the blinds were great at keeping the light out, so I had no sense of what time it was when I woke up! The room was quite warm but I didn't mess with the AC settings but maybe I should have. The breakfast options were OK (cold meats/cheeses, pastries, toast, tea/coffee, cereal, juice) but a bit limited compared to getting a proper breakfast out. I didn't see any dairy alternative milk so I was glad I'd opted to not have it included and only tried it the once as there's great breakfast places close by (shout out to Third Space). I would happily stay at the Hendrick again and recommend it.

Nice and comfortable hotel in a decent location. Staff were always very proactive and friendly throughout the stay. We had some issues with the electronics in our room overnight and all 3 guests found that only some devices charged via the outlet / USB overnight. There were dance classes held during our stay in the weekend in the main area which is a nice touch, but it took up pretty much the entire cafe / bar area and made it hard to relax there in the evening or afternoon for a drink / recharge, which made it feel like the hotel guests came second.

I’ve titled it grand because it was. The room I booked a double even though it was just me staying, I would not like to be sharing it after seeing the size of the room. Could max stay 1 night because I’ll be honest the layout is very prison cell like. ||Bed you can only get in from one side, fine as it was just me but if sharing it would be claustrophobic and annoying. ||Window very. small and cell like. Shower water wasn’t that hot either. ||Decor good. Minimalist styling and this means no wardrobe. ||I could also hear when the couple next door entered their apartment, talking and their mobile phone. Could hear nothing from outside. ||No bottle of water in room which really annoyed me. First hotel I’ve stayed that they didn’t provide water. ||The man at breakfast was very sound friendly guy

Nice little hotel with the option for late check out (I was very jetlagged and needed to sleep in). Tobias at the front desk was super friendly and good for a spot of banter, and the lobby was a lovely place to hang out in the evening, lots of comfortable seating. Would definitely come back

Beautiful and modern rooms, clean and in a great location. The self-check-in was super fast and fully automated. The bed was very comfortable, and overall the rooms offer everything you need. Recommended.
