I lived at The Hendrik from 2020 to 2022, and while the building looks nice on the surface, the reality was really frustrating.
We had an upstairs neighbor who regularly blasted music with heavy bass that shook our apartment, at all hours of the day and night. We reported it many times, but management basically dismissed it, saying no one else had complained, so they didn’t believe us. After months of this, we finally recorded video proof. At that point, they told us she’d be evicted—but she wasn’t. The noise kept happening, and when we followed up, they completely backtracked and pretended they never said anything about eviction. It felt dishonest and exhausting.
The shared amenities weren’t any better. The rooftop fire pit they show off in ads and tours? It was broken almost the entire time we lived there. The grill barely worked. The gym was missing basic equipment, and instead of replacing it, management sent out a building-wide email asking residents to return it—like it had just wandered off. For what they charge in rent, that kind of response is unacceptable.
The Hendrik markets itself as a high-end place to live, but that wasn’t our experience. If you ever have a real issue, don’t expect management to take responsibility or follow through.
