We chose The Henry for two reasons: it's location and the availability of a Vegan breakfast - neither disappointed. We booked directly which was easy and efficient with a very fair cancellation policy. Christine was really good in keeping us updated with good communication. The set up is like an AirBnB with a front door key code and door keys in an envelope on the desk in the hallway. The house and room was clean and tidy with good bed linen, firm but comfortable mattress and excellent towels. We saw no one until breakfast when Christine was present. She is warm and friendly and did an amazing job, going the extra distance, to accommodate our dietary requirements. Having said all that, although the instructions seemed clear and simple for the front door access the key pad is very worn and as we arrived in the dark struggled to get in. This was due to the instructions not stating that once the code is entered you then need to press another key to activate the code which needed a torch to read (no mean feat when carrying luggage that you don't want to put down on a wet and dirty pavement!). The rooms are much smaller than the pics, so much so that there is almost not enough room to get down one side of the bed. We opted for en-suite and the shower room was part of the original room which was a factor in making the room feel cramped. The basin was so small that one could not do more than wash hands in it and the shower pressure was awful - only just about use able. The general effect was that the whole place had been done on a shoe string budget and did feel somewhat 'tired'. Honestly, if it were not for Christine and the location, would have only given it 3 stars at best, especially considering the price (however do understand that the rate is par for the course in Bath).

Stayed for 2 nights. Heating was not working properly but had a heater in the room. Friendly welcome from Christina and had a good choice at breakfast. The hotel is quirky due to it's age and has a fabulous location to sight see in Bath with a public car park over the road. I would stay again if I visit Bath.

Great location to Bath and all there is to see. Rooms, while on the smaller side as our room had an ensuite added, (but what can you expect in a period building) are tastefully appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and is made to order.|Our host Christina is very chatty and friendly and makes you feel at home.

We had a great stay at the Henry. Lovely room with a comfy bed, and Cristina's breakfasts are fantastic. My partner is vegan and she went above and beyond to accommodate him. ||The location of the guest house is so convenient, but it also manages to be pretty quiet. It was my second visit and I'd definitely recommend it if you enjoy staying in a more traditional property.

The Henry location was perfect for train station access and local sights. The breakfast was fine and Christina was a joy. The small room and bath showed some wear but all very clean and functional for the age of the house.

Our family stayed here for three nights. We had room #1 (family room with double bed and twin bed) and room #4 (twin beds). The house is 300 years old, so expect things to be a bit quirky. Uneven floors, lots of stairs to take your luggage up and down, a few things needing repaired or replaced.|Couldn’t connect to Wi-Fi at all in room #4.|BUT it is in a great location – – we walked everywhere from there,|Less than 10 minute walk to Bath Abby and Roman Baths— and a 5 minute walk if you’re taking the Mad Max tour (recommended). Breakfast was fine – – including a cooked breakfast when ordered. |The rooms were a bit chilly – – the heat wasn’t on yet. Christina turned it on when we asked, but it didn’t really warm up the rooms much. The streets around the hotel can be a bit noisy at night – – students do like to party late. ||We thought it was a good choice for our three days in Bath.

Rooms are quite old-fashioned as expected from a Georgian era house. The location is quite inaccessible for differently-abled folk. The rooms could do with more electrical outlets and the wi-fi connectivity was poor. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was promptly served and portions were well prepared. On the day of our check-out, we were advised that we could use the room for the rest of the day as well, until our departure, since the next booking was not until the afternoon of the next day. We graciously accepted the offer and made use of the conveniences before boarding our train. The location is very conveniently situated and is walkable from the train station or the town centre.

We booked our stay with the Henry guest house 8 months before the trip as the first of a 3 week tour of England. Whereas the location and the breakfasts were fantastic, the property itself was in need of repair and was very tired. Bathroom shower head sprayed everywhere but down and needed replacing, the shower caddy for toiletries was literally coming off the wall, carpeting looked to be 50 years old and felt like it hadn’t been cleaned in 20. I wore sandals around the room…it felt that nasty. Hooks for towels were wobbly and could not be tightened. Light over sink didn’t work as well as one over the bed. I expect old and quirky, but not disrepair and cheap. Of the stays we have had, by far the smallest, worst kept and most expensive room on the trip with the exception of London. ||Christine did fix the caddy in the shower and replaced the light by the bed the second day we were there of 3 nights. We even had to ask for two sets of towels the last night since they only left one. I would have expected some compensation for the problems but other than an apology, none were offered. The other thing that bothered me was the lack of in person contact at the property. No one to greet you or have any kind of presence. Breakfast was attended by very nice hired staff. I was able to contact via text which was responded to by Christine. Just felt off for what I would consider a bed and breakfast. (More like an air bnb). This was not our experience at any of the other accommodations.||The property asked for direct feedback instead of posting on social media which I did over 2 weeks ago never to hear back, thus my post today.

Yelp
I originally booked the Henry Guest House as it was one of the most economical places in Bath, England that also received great reviews. Upon check in there was an envelope with my name on it in the hallway that had a few maps and a list of things to see as well as my key. Although I arrived early (12noon), I was able to check into my room which was nice as I got to refresh before going out. The rooms are painted a soft grey that made them feel warm and homey. My bed was comfortable and my bathroom an ample size with great towels. One of the innkeepers was kind enough to drag my heavy, large suitcase up the stairs and pack me a great breakfast (fruit, yogurt, muffin) for the road as I had an early tour in the morning and would miss the hour breakfast time they offer. Location is perfect, easy walking to the train station, sites and restaurants!

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay. On our last day we wanted to stay longer and sleep one more night in the very comfortable bed. However we did get up because a full breakfast was waiting. Our room was small but comfortable. Two comfortable chairs to sit in. A nice view of the garden in back which was very quiet. The only noise we heard was the tweet of birds -- nice. Very friendly place and in the center of town. We could walk to many places to eat and places of interests. Fast WiFi. Would return anytime.

Yelp
What a treat. My friend and I spent one night here but would have gladly spent more. We both loved our rooms on the first flight although her larger room was a little noisy as it was on the street side. Mine faced the garden and was full of charm. Large paned window, lovely linens and upholstered chair; wood floor in bath. Comfortable bed. Great location, short walk to Abbey and Roman Baths. Owners both present and gave us helpful tips (DO the free walking tour offered by the Mayors Corp of Volunteers). Breakfast room was bright and food was delicious. Would return in a heartbeat and it seemed a good value at £85.

Yelp
We had the under the stairs apartment which perfectly accommodated our party. The living space was large and quite functional with a flat screen tv, although the DVD player did not work. The full service kitchen came in very handy and breakfast was brought to our room the day before while we were out sightseeing. The location downstairs from Mai Thai is convenient as well. Only complaints are that the basement bedroom smelled very musty (then again, it is a basement) and the basement shower did not drain properly.

Yelp
Very nice room, well appointed. The bed linens were high quality. The bathroom was clean, small. Breakfast was quite good (although the guest seated at the next table stuck her hand in the container of granola to coax it out faster) (not the fault of the hotel, obviously). Great location and reasonably quiet.
