Our stay was mixed. I’m not sure if we’d go back. Most of my frustrations were around shoddy communication, but I’ll break it down. This was for a family of three. ||Pros: |-Great location close to major Bath sites|-Clean, comfortable rooms and beds||Cons:|-HOT- we were there during some high 80’s and low 90’s temps. There is no air conditioning. If you leave the windows open at night, it is quite loud outside, especially starting at 4:30 in the morning when the screeching of seagulls starts. Bath is overrun with them. Until about 12:30am there were truck and people sounds outside. This means I got about 4 hours of sleep each night. Also, our rooms were sweltering. All we had were a few fans. |- Very poor communication. Other than automated emails, I got no information from them, despite making two phone calls, sending three emails, and using their comment tool on the website. One time I called and got a person but she said she was on the roof trying to fix something and would call right back once indoors. I never got a call. I have a food restriction and their website said to let them know in advance, so I emailed, but never heard back, and come breakfast, they were not prepared to accommodate it. A week before our visit I changed our stay from one night to two and emailed for confirmation that I had reserved the right rooms, but heard nothing. Once I realized the weather would be hot, I wanted to change our second night to the family room on a lower floor instead of the rooms we had on the upper floors, but didn’t hear back. When we got there they told me the family room was now occupied, which I doubt, because they only offered one breakfast sitting our second day and the other guests at breakfast were on our floors. I think they just didn’t want to go through the trouble of moving us. ||In addition, once we got there, they charged the credit card I used to reserve the rooms month ago without letting me know. I had planned to change to a different card with no foreign transaction fees, that I didn’t have when I booked the room. I’ve never stayed at a hotel that just charged the bill without saying something first. Now I have foreign transactions fees I wanted to avoid. ||I know The Henry can’t control the weather, but most of my frustrations could have been avoided. ||If I were to go back to Bath in the summer, I would find a hotel with air conditioning or in a quieter area. The other months I might consider The Henry again, but the bad communication really tainted my stay.

We had a great stay at the Henry. Lovely room with a comfy bed, and Cristina's breakfasts are fantastic. My partner is vegan and she went above and beyond to accommodate him. ||The location of the guest house is so convenient, but it also manages to be pretty quiet. It was my second visit and I'd definitely recommend it if you enjoy staying in a more traditional property.

The Henry Guest House was a prefect, central location to explore Bath! It was also charming and the staff was very welcoming! We parked our car for two days and walked the city. Great to be located close to everything! Excellent cooked to order breakfast each day with a dining room that made visiting with other guests very easy.

The Henry is a compact old Georgian establishment that provides a pleasant environment in the charming city of Bath. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room (teabags and instant coffee, long life milk), and the view was to a quiet courtyard surrounded by other similar height buildings that didn't impact privacy. The bathroom was adequate, but being an addition to the room it was quite tight. Breakfast was hearty, with traditional British fare as well as croissants and granola, amongst a few other things. Staff were good, with a perfunctory yet pleasant enough manner. The hotel is part of a discount offer for the area as well. Access to rooms is only via stairs so be mindful of the narrow stairs to negotiate, especially if you're located. The room we had, number 2, was very compact, and it was quite a squeeze to get to one side of the bed near the wall. The birds make quite a racket but we slept well. No Aircon for hot days, so it was a little stuffy at times. Hot water was a little hit and miss, again a consequence of the old building. Wifi was pretty ordinary.

Such a perfect gem in this beautiful city! The Henry is so close to the train station that walking with all of our luggage was no trouble at all. The location is so close to the Abbey, the Baths, and the Pluteney Bridge that we were able to explore all day and not dread the walk back to our rooms. |The rooms were spacious and so comfortable. She was so considerate to supply fans for the rooms during the heat wave that the temperature inside was never uncomfortable. |The breakfast the in the moring was delicious and hearty. We would glady stay here again.

We stayed for one night at The Henry Guesthouse and found the room to be clean but very compact with a small ensuite. |Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and plentiful. Our host was very helpful and allowed us to leave our bags until late on our checkout day. Location was perfect, accessible to public transport and the city centre.

Wonderful guest house! Perfect location, especially if you are traveling by train. S car park is right by, also. Breakfast is fantastic. We loved our stay here.

Rooms are quite old-fashioned as expected from a Georgian era house. The location is quite inaccessible for differently-abled folk. The rooms could do with more electrical outlets and the wi-fi connectivity was poor. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was promptly served and portions were well prepared. On the day of our check-out, we were advised that we could use the room for the rest of the day as well, until our departure, since the next booking was not until the afternoon of the next day. We graciously accepted the offer and made use of the conveniences before boarding our train. The location is very conveniently situated and is walkable from the train station or the town centre.

Yelp
I originally booked the Henry Guest House as it was one of the most economical places in Bath, England that also received great reviews. Upon check in there was an envelope with my name on it in the hallway that had a few maps and a list of things to see as well as my key. Although I arrived early (12noon), I was able to check into my room which was nice as I got to refresh before going out. The rooms are painted a soft grey that made them feel warm and homey. My bed was comfortable and my bathroom an ample size with great towels. One of the innkeepers was kind enough to drag my heavy, large suitcase up the stairs and pack me a great breakfast (fruit, yogurt, muffin) for the road as I had an early tour in the morning and would miss the hour breakfast time they offer. Location is perfect, easy walking to the train station, sites and restaurants!

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay. On our last day we wanted to stay longer and sleep one more night in the very comfortable bed. However we did get up because a full breakfast was waiting. Our room was small but comfortable. Two comfortable chairs to sit in. A nice view of the garden in back which was very quiet. The only noise we heard was the tweet of birds -- nice. Very friendly place and in the center of town. We could walk to many places to eat and places of interests. Fast WiFi. Would return anytime.

Yelp
What a treat. My friend and I spent one night here but would have gladly spent more. We both loved our rooms on the first flight although her larger room was a little noisy as it was on the street side. Mine faced the garden and was full of charm. Large paned window, lovely linens and upholstered chair; wood floor in bath. Comfortable bed. Great location, short walk to Abbey and Roman Baths. Owners both present and gave us helpful tips (DO the free walking tour offered by the Mayors Corp of Volunteers). Breakfast room was bright and food was delicious. Would return in a heartbeat and it seemed a good value at £85.

Yelp
We had the under the stairs apartment which perfectly accommodated our party. The living space was large and quite functional with a flat screen tv, although the DVD player did not work. The full service kitchen came in very handy and breakfast was brought to our room the day before while we were out sightseeing. The location downstairs from Mai Thai is convenient as well. Only complaints are that the basement bedroom smelled very musty (then again, it is a basement) and the basement shower did not drain properly.

Yelp
Very nice room, well appointed. The bed linens were high quality. The bathroom was clean, small. Breakfast was quite good (although the guest seated at the next table stuck her hand in the container of granola to coax it out faster) (not the fault of the hotel, obviously). Great location and reasonably quiet.
