The Henry Hotel is a perfect blend of history, style, and personalized service. Tucked away in a peaceful gated courtyard, it feels like you’re stepping into another era with its beautiful old colonial architecture and tasteful boutique design. Every corner has character, from the vintage details to the lush greenery that adds to its quiet, intimate atmosphere. The service is truly outstanding — warm, attentive, and genuine without ever feeling intrusive. You can tell the staff take pride in creating a special experience for every guest. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home and completely taken care of, and because it is a rather small hotel. We stayed near the reception and it was very comfortable. If you can, get a room with a balcony. The only minor downside is the surrounding neighborhood, which doesn’t quite match the charm of the hotel itself. But once you’re inside the gates, it’s a serene little oasis — calm, cozy, and full of charm. Also, you hear the planes taking off from the airport.

Pros: |- The stay is overall nice: place has that quaint, comforting, old house feels. Aesthetics are on point, room is adequate, bed is comfortable, and sleep came easy. |- For guests with pets, they come prepared with pet bed, food bowl, and drinking container. They were quick to prep another room for us when they saw we have our dog with us. |- Even though it's on the pricey side, food is very delicious and worth the payment. They're gourmet dishes indeed. Buttermilk fried chicken, beef tapa for bfast are must tries. The salad that came with the dishes is also great. |- 100% will stay again.||For improvement: |- Lights in the main room are all warm, it's challenging to move around at night. An option to have white light would be good. |- Can get distracting for room occupants when staff talk loudly while in the hallways. |- This may be an isolated case but saw it while we were checking out: management team should reprimand in private and praise in public. It's within the team lead's role and duty to mentor younger staff, but necessary care still needs to be taken so guests don't hear what the internal concern is about.

This was my third stay at this hotel, and I regret upgrading to a suite purely based on past positive experiences with the boutique design. What followed was a complete failure in both basic amenities and service. There was no hot water for two nights, which is unacceptable at any hotel please, let alone for a suite. Even worse was the abysmal service recovery, there was little to no follow-up, no urgency at all, and no meaningful attempt to resolve the issue. I will not be staying here again. With such poor standards and an inconvenient location to begin with, there is absolutely no reason to return.

Excellent value for money! The architecture is stunning, thoughtfully designed rooms featuring beautiful furniture and art pieces. Every detail of the room feels well-planned and the service is truly exceptional. The staff are warm and accommodating, and the food at Apartment 1B is delicious. The location is also a refreshing escape—lush, green, and serene.|A heartfelt thank you to the Henry Hotel Manila team, especially the reception, bellman Vlad, Joy, Front Office Manager Mr. Jing, and Mr. Noel B, for their genuine Filipino hospitality.

Google
Nice place to stay, feels very quiet and homey. However the service was a bit strange never before have I been charged for linen cleanup at a hotel afterwards so that loses 2 stars. Also service could use a touch more attentiveness. Shame as this otherwise would’ve been a much better experience stained (pun intended) by when throwing towels in the shower floor that must’ve been dirty from Manila general vibe that it got dirty. 3 stars.

We had a great time here. We booked a room on a Friday to celebrate my gf’s birthday. The compound was not crowded, most of the guests are tourists flying out/in Manila given its proximity to the airport. Although the place was really beautiful, I wasn’t able to sleep properly. The hallways and the room itself give an eerie vibe. You won’t see a lot of hotel employees, only the receptionist, waiters at the restaurant (apartment 1b). Somehow, it gave us a feeling that someone was always watching us 😂✌🏾 Anyway, we enjoyed a dip in the pool the next morning. The common area is open to other non-hotel guests.

We were only here for breakfast. A beautiful oasis of calm in the middle of the city. The delicious breakfast was a dream and gave us the energy to start the day.

Google
Cool place to stay the staff was super nice and accommodating. The rooms are bit outdated but i think that is the vibe they want and do it well Food at the restaurant was real good. Asia Mall is a short cab drive away with plenty to do

Yelp
I stayed here for 2 nights in a suite room. Though this doesn't have the glitz and glamour of the new shiny high rise hotels, it has charm and it's own enviable merits. This property is artsy and unique (borderline hipster but without the attitude), a picturesque haven in Manila. When you pass through the gates it's like you disappear into a South American drug dealer's hidden compound. Though I had a short stay I was impressed with many things. Of course, the decor. The way there were touches of Filipino culture incorporated into the rooms. The food at Apartment 1b, the onsite restaurant, was excellent. The service was always super helpful and polite, seemingly anticipating. The property itself had many lovely trees, flowers, etc. The pool area was relaxing and quiet. The suite itself was lovely. It felt like my own private escape, but with style. The AC was functional, the bathtub was spacious and relaxing. I had a few nights of really good sleep in total comfort. Though this hotel compound is in a borderline sketchy area, I felt completely safe and secure during my stay. There's a guard at the entrance to the compound that takes note of everyone coming and going. If you have someone picking you up, you can just notify the desk that you're expecting someone. Could not have asked for more. Bonus: it's pretty close to the airport, so good if you need to catch a flight.

Yelp
First day at the Henry hotel and I'm loving everything about it so far. It's like a secluded hidden gem amidst a busy street just outside the gate. I feel like I'm in a secret garden... the staff has been amazing so far and I love the art gallery on the grounds filled with local artists and craftsmen. The food at the Restarant has been delightful so far.. had the three cheese lasagne and a caipirinha (delish). Looking forward to update this review with a full complete experience of my stay here.

Yelp
I have had the pleasure of staying in a number of hotels in Metro Manila. From five stars to budget inns, I've run the whole gamut. I've seen my share of good and bad hotels, and for the most part I've seen it all. Or so I thought. I've always wanted to try The Henry Hotel out when they first opened their doors in Metro Manila, and I finally had the chance to do so last weekend. I am a sucker for adaptive reuse, and The Henry Hotel looked amazing as soon as I pulled over. I am not a fan of the location (Pasay, guys. PASAY), but where else would you find the cluster of old houses needed to pull the concept off in the first place? Besides, as soon as you enter the gate, you are immediately transported to a more genteel and surreal place that is both modern and vintage. The room. Oh my God, the room was incredible. Sure, I've seen more opulent rooms, and I've stayed in bigger places, but there was something about the double-windowed room's aesthetic that just grabs at you, stuns you. Pwede naman pala 'to dito sa Manila, I thought to myself. It was beautiful, well-appointed, and every single element was thought of. From the furniture (Courtesy of A-11), to the recycled wastebaskets, to the wonderful bathroom items, to the french press (THEY HAVE A GODDAMN FRENCH PRESS IN THE ROOM!!!), the room was stunning. The Henry Hotel is located in a compound of old mansions, and while the hotel dominates the space, it is not the first tenant in the compound. The compound is also the home of the brilliant A-11 furniture shop, the Avellana Gallery (Which was sadly closed when I dropped by), and Jojie Lloren's atalier (I even saw Jojie himself inside his place, but I was too bashful to approach him). Exploring the compound alone will occupy your afternoon and it will be time well spent. Possibly the greatest achievement of The Henry is that it showed us that, if you build it (and build it well), people will come. Pasay City outside of the MOA complex is not exactly on my hotlist, but not only did The Henry Hotel make a compelling case, it also showcased Pasay City establishments worth checking out. In a way, The Henry Hotel is becoming an agent for change in Pasay City. Can it be done? Who knows, but with The Henry Hotel in tow, I have reason to be optimistic.

Yelp
HITS. This hotel is located near the airport and Mall of Asia/Arena. It's a breath of fresh air within the busy streets of Manila. The old houses surrounded by lush greenery gives every guest a warm, nostalgic feeling. The room is exceptionally clean. 5-star service, well trained staff. MISS. The entire property is covered by tall trees thus, leaves are imminently falling into the pool area. It could be an option for the hotel to put a subtle roofing in the amenities. The entire visit is fantastic minus unavoidable traffic going in and out of the hotel.

Yelp
Tucked away from the chaotic streets of Manila is The Henry, a magical boutique hotel that harkens back to the city's colonial times. While passing through the compound's long driveway and being greeted by a row of restored post-World War II houses, I couldn't help but feel nostalgic for a past that I've only seen in old black-and-white movies and sepia-toned photographs. Once we reached the lobby, my companion and I took a quick tour around the 34-room boutique hotel. As we walked along the hotel halls, I couldn't help but be pleasantly surprised by the thoughtfully designed interiors. Though the structure of the houses remains Old World, the interiors were definitely updated with respect to its era. It was a perfect marriage of the modern and the vintage. I definitely believe that guests with a keen eye for design will surely be in for a treat. Even looking down at the houses' original baldosa tiles is a visual feast in itself. The room we stayed in was a Classic Queen located on the second floor of one of the houses. Once we entered the room, high ceilings, dark wooden floors, huge windows and all the modern amenities any guest would expect out of a five-star boutique hotel greeted us. Our whole stay certainly was an unforgettable one. From the food, to the service, to the facilities, the Henry is truly like no other.

Yelp
I had a lovely 5 night stay here, before heading off to Iloilo. As others have noted, it's a refuge in a rather rundown and gritty part of Manila. The service was super polite, the food was good, and the ambience of the grounds is fantastic. Particularly the pool and garden area. There were some minor issues with operating the AC and TV, and in typical Philippine fashion, the internet speed is rather mediocre, but I will definitely be back at some point this year. Salamat!

Yelp
Just around 15 minutes from Makati (without traffic) is a Tagaytay-like getaway: The Henry Hotel. Housed in a gated and walled up post-war compound with design from that era (love the Machuca tiles and old house grills) and updated with modern accents and amenities, spending a weekend here can recharge you so much that you end up feeling like you've just spent a weekend somewhere farther, fresher - somewhere not in chaotic Manila. And that's the best part: this is in Manila! Yup, right here in Manila is a quiet and detached haven seemingly built to intentionally make you slow down, to nourish your soul with good food, to make you just lie down and get the best sleep ever, to make you appreciate this city's history more, to make you appreciate and stay in the present.

Yelp
There are only a few restaurants in Manila that deserve to be given a 5.0 and Apartment 1b is one of them. I absolutely loved the dishes we ordered, and the place, although small, was lovely. My sister and I visited this place for dinner. Situated inside the exquisite Henry Hotel, the restaurant boasted of elegant, timeless interiors complete with patterned flooring. The grilled blue marlin was one of the dishes that was recommended to us by their staff. It came with a serving of pesto in light cream, and garnished with onion, cucumber, eggplant, and tomato. The fish was extremely tender despite being grilled. Best eaten with crushed tomatoes. The spaghetti vongole was surprisingly pretty good too. The sauce was flavorful without being too overwhelming, and a little bit of chili was added for that unexpected kick. Tip: Be here before 3pm so you can try their breakfast specials!

Yelp
Pasay has always been known for its vast residential compounds of houses that are Spanish-Filipino in nature. A few of them have been converted into what we know now as the Henry Hotel. The boutique hotel is located inside a compound along F.B. Harrison street. The first three houses you see after you enter the gate are already the hotel. Further down are residential homes and art galleries. The interiors are what one would expect after observing the facade: big rooms, classic furniture, and a nice and homey feel anywhere you go. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms are just as superb. Every now and then though, you will notice a lot of quirks, from the the way the staff is dressed to the design of the room sandals. Apartment 1B is the resident dining area of the hotel. While the food is delicious, the service could be better. But aside from that, the Henry Hotel is a great escape from the chaos of Manila.

Yelp
Nestled like a gem in the heart of the Jungle, Metro Manila we've discovered Henry Hotel -Manila (which is actually the sister of the artsy boutique hotel The Henry - Cebu). This diamond in the rough can be the place to go when you wish to grab a short reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city without the back-breaking drive to the nearest out of town site, and without a bank-breaking rate per room for an overnight staycation. Entering the compound, you'll see five ancestral houses transformed to a boutique hotel serving bed and breakfast fare to Manila and Tourists. Seeing the facade and rooms, I fell in love with restoration done. The entire experience made us want to live here. The service actually resembles closely the comforts of home which is rare with other hotels. I can't wait for another long weekend to come back.

Yelp
This place is quite hipster but since I'm not in the Mission in SF or Williamsburg in NY I don't mind and in fact I love it. Front desk, bellhops, everyone working there were consistently perky, energetic, and friendly. I stayed here on two separate occasions during my trip through the country and this was by far my favorite hotel. Amenities were great, toiletries on point, comfortable bed, decorations nice without being flashy/gaudy, great TV channels, the grounds are gorgeous, and the place is truly a welcome respite from the madness, noise, congestion, and exhaust fumes of the city. A great place to get away from it all in the city but still be close to all that Pasay and the city has to offer (if you're willing to wait in traffic). No taxi driver knows where this place is so your best bet is to show them on google maps or give them directions yourself. Convenient location close to the airport and mall of asia as well. Do yourself a favor and stay here and chat up the hotel employees - you'll definitely enjoy your stay.

Yelp
In a city that finds itself with generic architecture and a lot of unpreserved architecture, its absolutely refreshing to find The Henry Hotel in Manila. This 34-room boutique hotel tucked away in the beautiful A11 compound is every design aficionado's delightful dream come true with its nostalgic mid-20th century elegance coupled with modern and comfortable amenities. Rooms are quite spacious and comfortable with ambiance and décor filled with so much thought and character. The staff is very friendly and accommodating too! Food option within the hotel is limited to its restaurant but it is not far from Mall of Asia or Makati. The hotel's location also allows a more private and homely feel compared to bigger or commercialized hotels in the bustling Metro. You will find yourself listening to the quiet, sinking into relaxation. Although without a spa, there is a quaint pool and you can also use typical banig mats to sit in the garden if the weather is nice. Make sure to check out the nearby gallery and furniture showrooms in the compound! This place is absolutely perfect for a staycation or even a creative day trip!
