9 Hotels in the U.S. That Celebrate Women - AFAR

"Opened in September 2019 in Woodstock, this four-room, design-forward retreat channels a Brooklyn-y, plant-filled aesthetic and honors iconic female musicians by naming suites after Carole King, Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell, and Stevie Nicks; each suite includes a zodiac crystal tied to the musician’s astrological sign, curated records and a record player, plus a kitchenette. The proprietors prioritize eco-friendly, cruelty-free, and fair-trade amenities and partner with women- and minority-led suppliers for textiles, soaps, and custom essential oils." - Devorah Lev-Tov

The Herwood Inn (Catskills & Hudson Valley, New York) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"This four-suite Woodstock inn pays homage to Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and Stevie Nicks, each room named for one of these musicians. The commitment to sustainability is genuine: fair-trade goods, eco-conscious products, Casper mattresses, and Brooklinen linens throughout. Rooms vary in layout but share thoughtful touches like clawfoot tubs, wood-paneled bathrooms, and private patios. Two are pet-friendly. Guests share access to an outdoor area with bikes and a hot tub. It's the kind of place where the ethos feels authentic rather than performative." - Tablet Hotels

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at The Herwood Inn this past weekend. We were blown away! Excellent location, easy walk to all the hotspots but still quiet. We stayed in the King Suite and were impressed with all the little details. Nice touch having on site hot tub. Next time we are in Woodstock, we will definitely stay here again. 5 Stars!

We’ve been guests at the Herwood Inn twice — simply superb. Adam and Carmen are consummate hosts. Highly, highly recommend. Literally in the middle of Woodstock, you can walk everywhere if you’d like. Plenty of dining and shopping options. Our family gathered here to enjoy the outdoor patio with fire chiminea on a cool evening.

My husband , I and our dog had an amazing stay in the Franklin Flat. My hubby loved the records and record player, my puppy loved the big king size bed! Courtyard was beautiful. Adam and Carmen were perfect hosts! Location was perfect distance from town centre! Can't wait to come back

I’m having an unbelievably hard time comparing the Woodstock Way Hotel and Herwood Inn after visiting both this trip - I think it’s a tie and I’ll definitely be back to both. SAFE and QUIET FOR SOLO TRAVEL! ❤️ LOVE the cabin/RV, quiet feel!! Adam and Chris were super kind and helpful! I love and appreciate the additional amenities - kitchen, patio with twinkle lights, jacuzzi, free bike rental, fire pit, “camp-like” feel, casper pillows and mattress, a streaming tv, ac and heater that actually work, all the oils and room sprays that are divine, different mood lighting, records and record player, games, wood ceiling beams, blackout curtains, shower ledge, supplies and merch store, etc.!! I also REALLY appreciated the small touch of having a phone charger already in the room since I left mine in the car. Beautifully done and am so thankful to have found this gem! I will be back no doubt 🥰 I love the quaint/ small feel the most / bottom floor. Fell asleep to the beautiful sounds of rains 😍

Very cute place, walking distance from everything in town. Stayed in the Franklin suite with my wife & 4 years old golden retriever. The place looks newly renovated, locally sourced products worthy of a repeat stay.

The location and room were perfect. The only negative is the sound of cars driving past. The room had all we needed and host was very helpful to get anything we needed extra. Fantastic location to go walk downtown on foot or with a bike from the Inn (use for free). Perfect place for a get away

My friend and I recently stayed in the Franklin flat. We had an awesome stay - the room was perfect, clean and had a lot unexpected perks like games, music, toiletries and cold water in the fridge. The staff was very accommodating via text and went above and beyond for us. Would absolutely stay again.

A 4 suite establishment that should be you’re first place to ask for a reservation if you’re planning a trip to Woodstock NY. Walkable (less than 1/4 mile to town center and it’s multiple outstanding eateries and cocktail joints), they’re dog (maybe pet, but we have a Yorkie, cross between a Hooman and dog) friendly including dog towels, bowls and a completely fenced in central sitting area (even small dogs couldn’t find a way out) which includes fire pit, covered seating, hot tub and self serve market. Its vibe is Mid-Century modern but with a very warm undertone. Our friends and their two dogs booked us and we were not disappointed
