Best poke I’ve had on island! This is easily my favorite poke spot because of the fresh poke, awesome sides, and good sized portions. Unparalleled.

Google
The short ribs was really salty and the poke was okay. The guy at the poke counter wasn’t the friendliest and made the experience bleh. We felt really rushed even though there wasn’t a wait and service just wasn’t friendly. We usually love short ribs but couldn’t finish it.

Emotional Side Quest

Google
Best Hamachi on the island and killer salmon as well. I’ve been to quite a few places and always get the two and The Hibachi is always worth the slightly higher price. Fish is all that matters to me so 5 stars. But I also like how they have grilled skewers yo choose from and their Mac salad is in my top 10 on island. They have single beers and cute outdoor seating. A must visit when coming to Oahu for sure 🤙🏼🌺

Love these guys!! Coming in every day for lunch. Best poke on island boys! Stay great!

Google
We got the large poke bowl, spicy oyster sauce tuna, spicy tobiko, and salmon. Very fresh fish and great for bringing it on a picnic.

Google
Best poké on the island! We’ve been here pretty much everyday since we first tried it. The flavors are so good and the fish is super fresh. Very kind people! 🥰❤️

Google

This might be the best poke I’ve ever had! A little pricey but worth every penny.

Yelp
Literally the best poke on island - so fresh and they are always so kind. I recommend getting a poke bowl for sure!!

Yelp
Been in kailua for a while! been coming to Hibachi for like 15 years, still pretty good!

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Extremely reasonably priced poke. The quality of the ahi and salmon was great. Seasonings were simple, and not too many additional toppings either, just a few onions, sesame seeds, furikake, and maybe spices. Some pokes came with an additional sauce (I tried the wasabi shoyu which isn't too spicy). The rice comes in 2 sizes, bowl or plate. Poke is measured by weight! Definitely will come back for the plates here. Also you can get sides for only $11.99 per pound; we tried the crab salad which was very tasty. Servers are super nice and answer questions if you have them! Quick service too!! Small but free parking lot. It's a to go spot mostly anyways!

Yelp
While in Kailua, everytime I yelp food or restaurants, The Hibachi always pops up. So, today, we were hungry, in Kailua, and ended up coming here since it was yelp's recommendation. The Hibachi is across from Tokyo Central in Kailua. They have a small parking lot. As we walked in, I was surprised, cuz i thought was like a sit in place to eat, but it was a like a small market, poke shop kine. Once you walk in, cashier right in front and poke counter to the right. All the poke's looked so good, but the menu was just a little bit too much for me (part of reason missing Star). It's a good thing that they have a lot to choose from, but there was a lot to read everywhere lol, got the hanging menu, the container to look at all the different poke's, meat, sides, and all the little writings everywhere. My head was just going in circles, up and down trying to read everything. It was a little overwhelming, but the guy was very helpful and started explaining choices, and what not. I ended up just getting a teriyaki chicken bowl just chicken and rice (you have the option of plate that you can pick 2 sides) and the wife got lamb chop and carne asada skewer plate. So cool, cuz they grill the meat right there in the back where the parking lot is! So, they actually have tables outside in the front to sit down and eat, and you can smell the bbq aroma, smell so good lol. So funny cuz I thought the side of the outdoor seating was a separate business, but was the same. Best part was we got to feed our burning hungry tummy's. The wife really enjoyed her lamb chop and carne asada skewer plate. For her sides, she got japchae and tofu. She said she definitely would come back for that plate again. I did sample a piece of her carne, and man, it was good. I wasn't too fond of my chicken plate (other part of reason missing star), I was thinking going be like LNL bbq chicken kine, but it was teriyaki chicken! Lol that's my bad, cuz the Teri chicken is teri chicken, but I was sad, cuz i was just hungry, and it wasn't what I wanted and I didn't get to brag and say "oh my gosh, this is so gooood" lol like the wife did. I'd definitely go back to try the poke and other stuff tho. I'll study the menu first before I go, so I'd already know what I want! But it's a 10/10 recommend. Go check them out guys!

Yelp
There are a lot of great reviews so maybe we came on an off day. There's poke and grilled kabobs inside a small market. I ordered 2 Poke bowls with four items: Plain poke, spicy oyster, spicy masago, and salmon poke I thought the poke was a bit too salty and a bit slimy We also ordered grilled kabobs with macaroni salad and crab salad. The kabobs meat was chewy and tough

Iris F.

Yelp
Don't let the name fool you, it's no people cooking in front of you but this place is bomb. When when you walk in it's giving deli with the counter and you can see the food in the glass right. You pick out what you want and then go pay for it at the counter. Eli took care of us. We tell him we never been and we were visiting and he got us right. We ordered the teriyaki rice, chicken plate with white rice and added a garlic shrimp skewer. Are two sides, kimchi cabbage and the Korean glass noodles . Everything was good. I say go.

Chris T.

Yelp
Lamb is so good here, can't wait to come back and have it again. Goes great with a green placemat too.

Kenneth T.

Yelp
For a simple meal after going to the beach in Kailua, it's alright. Didn't try the poke but maybe next time. The chicken katsu curry with sides were alright. The chicken katsu curry rice was tasty, but the sides were underwhelming. The cabbage kimchi was nothing close to what kimchi should be. This was more like pickled cabbage with vinegar and some chili flakes. The imitation crab salad was alright but a little on the plain side which didn't give it any nice flavor. The boneless kalbi rice bowl is NOT recommended. The meat was very chewy and we pretty much tossed most of it because it was just not worth chewing on it.

Yelp
Craving the perfect Hawaiian Poke bowl, look no further. This little market style poke spot feels super authentically asian with gorgeous batchs of poke mixed with different flavors. You can order a bowl and get 2 choices of poke, I opted for the Thai Basil and the Hibachi, both were so delicious! I also tried my friends Oyster sauce poke which was equally addicting. Not to mention the prices will shock you how good they are as well.

Marcel M.

Yelp
Love this place! Small little shop with amazing food, I usually grab a plate and some drinks and hit the beach. Really can't go wrong with the poke or the plates. Enjoy!

Celina C.

Yelp
I love it! They have so many options and they are also super friendly and nice even though I had so many questions.

Yelp
This place is known for its poke and has good reviews, so we decided to give it a try since we are near the area. My husband got a poke bowl, with one of their poke specials and hamachi, I tried some of it and it was underwhelming. I wasn't in the mood for poke, so I opted for a safer local choice: the BBQ chicken, ahi fried rice, tofu salad, and choy sum on the side. I really wanted to like this place and support a local business, but unfortunately, there was nothing to like about my plate lunch, their drinks, nor their service. Our order was taken by a trainee, and the process took longer than expected. While I understand that trainees are still learning, it impacted the overall experience, especially since I waited more than 30 minutes for the food, only to be let down by what I received. The BBQ chicken was overly salty and lacked that char flavor you expect from grilled BBQ chicken. I was excited for the ahi fried rice, but it turned out clumpy, overcooked, with some pieces that are hard to bite, almost like it stuck to the pan too long. As for the sides, the tofu salad was bland, and the choy sum was bitter and salty too. Also, the plantation iced tea I ordered was watered down. For what we paid, the food and drinks didn't really justify the price, unfortunately.

Yelp
Great fresh poki in a market like setting. There are outdoor seatings. We tried spicy masago, regular ahi, lime ahi. Everything tasted so yummy abs fresh. Definitely a local gem. And not to mention friendly

Neil E.

Yelp
If we can't be honest what's the point?! Bummed cuz I had high hopes after seeing the Yelp reviews and the food pics. After eating a ton delish food on the north shore, Waikiki and honolulu I wanted to try something on this side of the island. Sigh I hate giving terrible reviews to mom and pop shops who put a lot of love and energy into their food. so with reluctance I will share my experience. After spending half the day in lani kai hiking pillbox, snorkeling, and playing vball I was starving along as was my crew. We all new hibachi was where we were gonna feed our hunger. Arrived and ordered poke(tuna and salmon), Teri and Kalbi combo and with japchae and potatoe salad, and a bbq skewer combo with beef chicken and ahi. We also got Thai tea(delish) We first dove into the poke and we all liked the salmon but the tuna had a funky fishy flavor. Food land over is better no fish funk. We got on the plate lunches and we all took a few bites and it was awkwardly quite. We all looked at each other and a few spit out their bites and a few of us including my force swallowed their bites. There was something in fresh about the meats it made me feel uneasy about putting another bite in my mouth. There was also an overwhelming amount of cumin used more than should be. It lead to all of us just closing the lids and putting it in the trash. I'm gonna chock it up to maybe a bad day or batch, I dunno. I don't think I will come back and give this place another try. I'm glad others have found this place and enjoyed their food I hope all other will have better experiences than I moving forward.

Dianna R.

Yelp
Their BBQ chicken and Kalbi were really good. I wasn't a fan of their sides, but my husband liked them. I would definitely go back if I'm in the area again. The shop is a bit small, but clean and the food is presented where you can see it. They cook it fresh for you, which I really appreciate. Service was nice, but they did ask that I wait outside for the plate lunch. There is ample parking in the back and I went just about at lunchtime.

Yelp
Friends and I were at Kailua beach for a few hours and wanted to grab some food before we headed back to the hotel. Definitely wanted something fresh.. this place had a lot of great reviews so we gave it a try. People were friendly. And a lot of choices. They have cooked food for those who don't like poke or raw fish fyi. I got two different kinds of ahi. They were both ok. I wasn't super impressed. Fish was fishy which means wasn't fresh.. I wanted to love it because it's a local spot. Mac salad needed something in it as well.

Yelp
A fresh, well-seasoned, and delicious poke spot not far from Lanikai Beach, where we were coming from. As the name suggests, they also have a wide variety of grill items that they make on a grill out back. The menu looks a little chaotic on first glance but is really expansive. The rest of the shop is actually a small convenience/food store, but there is some patio seating outside. Would recommend.

Abigail Joy Y.

Yelp
A great poke place with different flavor selections!! We were on a nearby beach and this one was the closest and so glad we came across this place because their poke were SO BOMBBB!! I ordered the Spicy Oyster Ahi, so flavorful and the spiciness was just right. My best friend got a customized plate of just ahi, onion, rice, and soy sauce because she is allergic to sesame oil which all of their products have. The employees were so nice and accommodating and shout out to the guy who customized my best friend's plate!! We both ordered small plates and we were so full after! They have an ample parking lot at the back of the store and minimal outdoor seating so we decided to just eat in the car. I definitely recommend this to my friends and family!!

Janet Z.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner after hiking and orders chefs fried rice and onion beef. Great poke selection along with tons of plated dinner and sides options. Limited patio seating but not super busy at 5:30pm so we sat outside. Everything had amazing flavor and was fresh!

Jann M.

Yelp
This is a tiny store that serves food in the heart of Kailua. The food is super fresh but I wished it had more flavor. I had the Shrimp Skewers over rice and it was bland I was disappointed. The service was great and fast but I think it's more of a local place instead of a place for Tourists

Karlo D.

Yelp
We were near by and needed to waste some time waiting to pick up something a few minutes away. We were in the mood for some poke and something grilled and this met us perfectly so we decided to give it a try based on the good reviews. I ordered a poke bowl with their special ahi and hamachi, the lemongrass chicken skewer, and a BBQ chicken plate. As for drinks we ordered plantation ice tea and a vietnamese coffee. Ordering was clumsy as they has a trainee employee taking my order. He eventually got through it although a little painful on my end but we are in no rush. Seating was outside and a bit cramped. The hamachi and dipping sauce were good, the drinks felt off, and the rest of the food was underwhelming and overly salty. Though they have an electric grill, it didn't feel grilled and was missing that char flavor and slightly burnt parts. The hibachi special was kind of weird to me. It was trying to take me somewhere in taste but I just didn't get it. The lemongrass skewer was very salty. I typically love lemongrass chicken so after eating this I had enough of the flavors here. Overall, we left unsatisfied and underwhelmed thinking we should've gone with our gut and ate in the plaza we were originally at before coming here. The price point compared to the quality isn't worth it. Go elsewhere as there is better poke and also better BBQ chicken plates. What would attract people here is smelling charcoal and seeing smoke but smelling something good. The marinades need to scale down on the salty, menu less confusing, and food tasted before selling. I almost feel this place is targeted to the vacationers more than locals. I feel duped by the rating.

Yelp
Have ordered several times. Poke options are popular. Great reasonable price. Portion sizes are HUGE, you won't be able to finish it. You'll have two meals! (Hibachi Grilled Ahi Skewers & Salmon Poke)

Matthew P.

Yelp
Food (4.75/5): Came here with a party of three after doing Koko Crater and Halona Blowhole hikes--got the ahi, salmon, spicy tobiko, Mac salad, choy sum, and ocean salad. The ocean salad was a bit salty (I suppose that is the point hence "ocean"), but the poke itself was really fresh and flavorful! The Mac salad was also spectacular. My favorite poke was the spicy tobiko, was not very spicy but quite flavorful and tasty! Service (4.5/5): Very friendly staff who were happy to make recommendations. Ambiance (4/5): Quick service with take and go. Nothing particularly special. We took the poke to Bellows beach and ate the poke on a rock by the ocean -- such a mood!

James O.

Yelp
Excellent service, great food. This place will fill your belly and your heart. Can't wait to come back :)

Ann C.

Yelp
Really wonderful spot to grab both fresh poke AND grilled meat dishes if you cannot make up your mind. There isn't an option for a mixed plate but you can get one of each. It's more of a takeout spot but there are a few tables to dine in at. The poke is charged by the pound and a poke plate comes with 3 kinds of poke, 2 scoops of rice, AND 2 sides (~$17 but exact price depends on the price/lb of the poke you choose). All the fish was fresh and well seasoned. I also tried their BBQ chicken plate and it also came with 2 rice scoops and 2 sides. For the price, the portions are HUGE and 2 people could share 1 plate if they weren't too hungry, but we like to try more things and have leftovers. This place is definitely great value. The only things I thought could be improved would be to decrease the salt in the edamame side and to consider a dressing/sauce to go on top of the chicken. Service was super fast and friendly! It's also a convnience store so sells drinks, food items and other goods. Will return for sure.

Kingston T.

Yelp
I love the Hibachi. I really enjoyed the poke here since they offer traditional and original flavors of poke. I had the Spicy Thai and Basil Ahi and Special Poke Bowls. Service is friendly and welcoming. They have a parking lot located in the back. The store is small, only to go and you can also grab snacks and alcohol. They don't offer samples but I would confidently say you couldn't find a bad poke here.

Kevin Y.

Yelp
I've never been too impressed by Poki in Hawaii and feel like this was pretty average. It's a small shop and lots of selection, but just not too impressed overall.

Christina W.

Yelp
After an early morning, I was craving some poke, so we found this spot close to where we were. It's a small shop, but they have lots to offer! There was minimal seating outside, but we managed to get a seat. We had lots of questions, all of which the guy at the counter politely answered. Everything looked so great, so I chose a few of their top choices for the poke. My boyfriend chose from the grill options. I got the salmon, a few ahi tuna choices, the crab salad; ocean salad as the sides. My boyfriend got the boneless Kalani with Japanese potato salad and the Korean glass noodles as his sides. My first initial bite of the poke was great! However when it came to the sides, it was incredibly salty. I love salty foods, but these were over the top. The poke was super fresh, but I couldn't finish my sides. As for my boyfriend's grilled plate, he was expecting actual grilled kalbi, but this just seemed to be a cheaper cut of steak with galbi marinade. It wasn't what we were expecting, and super pricey for what it was. His was also on the salty side. If anything, the best dish was his Japanese potato salad. While I appreciate how loaded our plates were, it was hard to finish because of all the salt. Order carefully for the grilled items as well!

Yelp
Umami =^.^= After soaking up the sun at Lanikai beach we tamed our growling stomachs with Ono poke! Just a short drive from the beach we were surprised to see there wasn't anyone there (12ish). No wait, sweet! People trickled in 12:30-1pmish. This quaint poke deli is packed with big flavor with FRESH fish. There are small, medium and plate size dishes. You can basically choose anything you want and put it together. There is also kalbi and other Tings. BUT choose the poke because that is what they're known for. Food ordered: 1.) medium bowl (comes with rice) ahi tuna topped with ginger sauce and spicy tobiko salmon (not too spicy) 2.) kalbi and shrimp plate. This plate seemed like it was grilled before hand and then reheated. I would stick to the poke. Other: -cash/card/tap -reasonably priced -small parking lot in the back - front door is where the side walk is ( in the front) not where the parking lot is. -variety of store bought drinks and some dessert -seating outside(few tables) - no bathrooms I would recommend eating the poke

Jessica H.

Yelp
Cute small market style poke and bbq. Great customer service and diverse selection of food.

Aaron A.

Yelp
Having lived in Kailua, this was always my go to spot for a sushi bowl or for my beach day worth of Poke. I wish I had pictures, but I always just eat it too fast.

Tommy S.

Yelp
Amazing food George is super cool I'll definitely be back definitely recommended. !!!!!!

Rochelle D.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. I can't eat poke so I was happy to know that they serve cooked food. I ordered the mahi plate with Korean glass noodles and kimchi cucumbers as my sides. The mahi was on the salty side for me. The sides were pretty good!

Lee N.

Yelp
Such great service and even better poke! Best poke in Kailua. They even have great treats for the dogs!

Rahul S.

Yelp
Tasty, quick service, street-side seating restaurant with mini grocery shop. Famous for its poke and chicken dishes. Has kid-friendly food options if needed. Lots of birds around seating area, but party of 3 or more may be tight. My lemon chicken was grilled before serving and highly recommended.

Kendra K.

Yelp
Good service and staff was very friendly. Poke was great with interesting flavors! Would definitely come back when we're in Kailua!

Grace N.

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp and was sooo glad we stopped by! We were hungry after a whole morning swimming and laying out at the beach and were craving poke and I saw that this place has tons of reviews! So we stopped by! The place is small with a section for packaged product on one side and the poke deli on the other. Parking lot is private and very tiny and we did not find parking at all so we park across the street. They don't have that many tables (outside only) to sit and some people like to take up a whole big table so..we brought our poke back and ate at the tables across at the supermarket. The poke is so fresh and yummy here! Poke in Hawaii is just so fresh and delicious! Yummm

Anthony D.

Yelp
On the way back from Lanikai beach, we stopped at The Hibachi to get a quick poke fix. It's part convenience store and part poke shop. So you order at the poke counter and pay at the store area. There's no inside seating so you can find some tables outside in the nearby shopping plaza. One of the main reasons why I wanted to check it out was because of the Thai Basil Tuna poke. I have never seen that anywhere else and it definitely was worth stopping by! For poke bowls, they do everything by weight so you can specific about how much you want or you can let them do the normal (which I did) and that equated to about $17 for 2 types of poke with rice. The Spicy Tuna was good too but the Thai Basil was really unique and so delicious! It had a sprinkle of peanuts on it which gave it some more texture. If you like Thai Basil and poke, then you owe it to yourself to stop by and try it here!

Adam B.

Yelp
Wish I took some pictures. Third time back to Oahu, second time to the Hibachi. Any time we are on the island, we will make a point to come here. Food is fresh and really good. Lots of different poke options, great sides. We ended up with 3 poke bowls, combinations of tuna, salmon and shrimp. And three hot plates, chicken skewers and lamb chops. Service is quick and very helpful. Great little place. Make sure stop here if you have time and take your food to the beach.

Warren N.

Yelp
The Hibachi also has a booth at the Ward farmers market on Wednesday afternoons. This is where I first tried their food. Although I only had their deluxe 3- poke bowl with sushi rice, I could tell these guys know how to make good poke. The fish was fresh and very tender. Market fresh every day! Their seasonings were a bit light for my spicy taste (Thai spicy poke was a bit light on the spice) . Overall, a good value for $16, but I could have used more of their delicious sushi rice. The tsukemono was a nice and refreshing touch. Very friendly service and some of the freshest poke I've tasted.

Jeff C.

Yelp
This is the best poke joint on the island, a must-visit on your way to the beach or just for the taste! We always bring our friends here. It's the second-best poke on Oahu, only outdone by Ry's Poke Shack in Kahuku, but that's a bit of a drive!

Ana B.

Yelp
Amazing! So fresh! Best freshness and flavors on the island. I go here way too often lol. It is a little pricey, and worth it. The service is great, very friendly:) only a couple outside seats, perfect.

Anne C.

Yelp
Limited menu but the food is prepared perfectly, expensive compared to proximate options. A few tables, mostly a to-go place.

summer H.

Yelp
Poké was amazing!! Service was great and there was great outdoor seating. If you're looking for an authentic Poké place in Kailua I would definitely try this place out!

Michael L.

Yelp
The plate lunches were good and the poke was better, decent spot to pick up some food before hitting the beach for a picnic lunch. Service was fast, friendly and they had a few tables outside as well.

Favi S.

Yelp
This place is definitely the spot to go. We've order the Boneless Kalbi and BBQ Chicken and happy to say the food was delicious!

Kj P.

Yelp
We went here after our pill box hike! Their ahi and salmon melts in your mouth! A must try!

Katrina L.

Yelp
Wonderful! If you're a poke fan I'd highly recommend. So many options it was hard to choose. We went with one of the ahi options - the name escapes me - and a citrus salmon poke. Both were delicious and so fresh! We also had a side of ocean salad. It was unlike any seaweed salad I've had before. The flavor was perfectly briny and the texture was toothy versus the usual more slimy texture. I jokingly called it the "collared greens of the sea" because that is what the texture reminded me of...in the best way! Service at the counter was great. Very informative and helped us make the hard decision of how to narrow down our choices. My only regret is not picking up a bag of the taro chips I was eyeballing at checkout. They would have been a great scooping vessel to complement everything. Check this spot out for sure!

dd g.

Yelp
I could've gone on a bad day but this is my honest feedback. Service was not great. Rice in the poke bowl was tough (likely a day old or simply undercooked). Overall um-impressed. Won't be going back.
