You might get confused when you see their 5 stars review at the very beginning. But I’ll definitely be staying here in the future if I’m coming back to Windermere. The staff are happy and always willing to help. The hotel is not a massive one but has been decorated nicely. The bathroom is spotless. The beds are comfortable. What else can we ask for? Yes I have to mention their freshly made breakfast and homemade cake. Don’t miss that. Thanks Lisa and Richard for your hospitality.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Best part of the hotel is it's location, which is about 5 min walk from the Windermere station and centre of the town. We could walk around easily in the town. The hotel is run very efficiently by an the team, Susan, Lisa, Ana and Adam. They provide very good service. The breakfast was delicious. Its prepared fresh and served hot. The room and bed are small, but it didn't matter much, as there are enough sitting areas, indoor and outdoor.

My wife and I have returned home this afternoon from an enjoyable five days in Windemere and the Lake District, staying at the Hideway during this time. What a joy it was to stay there! The owners and staff are all lovely, so warm and inviting. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation has all amenities you would need from a top notch B&B establishment, a large private car park and conveniently situated just a few short minutes walk from the centre of town. Our double room was exceptionally clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfasts were a delight. So much choice and generous portions, beautifully cooked. And delicious home made cakes to take away after breakfast. I really can’t recommend this outstanding boutique hotel/B&B highly enough. 10/10, and we intend to return. Thank you, Hideaway, for making our trip special 🙏❤️

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights in September and what a lovely place to stay! Couldn’t fault a thing, would definitely recommend this place and would most certainly return. Breakfast, rooms and service all great! The daily piece of cake was always a great touch and was very tasty! Thank you for a great stay.

We had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights. On arrival we received a very warm welcome and a slice of cake! Our room was wonderful! It was nicely decorated and very clean. It was also serviced each day. The breakfasts are great and there’s so much choice too. There is something for everyone. But do try the breakfast loaf which is bought to your table. The food is of great quality and you get to pick a slice of cake to take with you to enjoy later. The garden is a very nice place to sit after a day out maybe with your slice of cake and a cup of tea. It’s so peaceful at night aside for the occasional tawny owl which was great to listen to. I highly rate our stay here. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you so much to everyone at The hideaway for your hospitality.

We had a WONDERFUL stay at the Hideaway. The room was clean, the full breakfast was amazing, and then you get a piece of homemade cake! We would definitely stay there again while visiting the Lake District!

What a lovely little gem!||We booked this B&B 48 hours before arriving as we just needed to get away. We didn’t realise a storm was on the way … what should have taken 2 1/2 hours, took us just under 5!!!||We kept Lisa and Richard informed of our (very) late arrival due to the horrific storm Amy we were travelling in via WhatsApp as the reception isn’t manned from 5pm. Upon arrival there was plenty of parking and we were met by Richard and a lovely slice of Victoria sponge 😊||Room was very clean, as was the rest of the property, and very comfy, with plenty of complimentary teas, coffee and hot chocolate. We took a short walk (despite the storm) into the town and had the best pizza in the Italian restaurant. A blustery walk back (which was great when the wind was behind us!) and had one of the best nights sleep I’ve had in ages!||Saturday morning breakfast was amazing, food cooked to order, plenty of it, piping hot and the service was first class. Off out for the day with a complimentary slice of lemon drizzle cake, a full tummy and completely stress free.||Overall the best last minute getaway we’ve had in ages and will definitely be going back 😊

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hideaway, the room was lovely and breakfast was exceptional. It was perfect for a long weekend in the Lake District. The daily homemade cakes were delicious. Would recommend the hotel to anyone travelling that way. Thank you for looking after us. :)
