The Hideout Sigiriya

Love the garden setting! Besutiful flowers everywhere you look. The swimming pool is nice and big. And the rooms are big and clean. Love love LOVE also the delicious fresh drishes they have. You can really taste the local recipes prepared with love.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Hideout. The staff is very attentive, the rooms spacious and the pool is a really nice perk. What stood out for us is the incredible chef Joseph, who, with his decades of experience in the industry, prepared lovely local breakfasts for us and made sure to come out and have a friendly chat each morning. Thanks to the whole team 🙏

The food was really delicious. Chef Jospeh Fernando prepared the string hoppers with flowers to give the a beautiful pink and blue color. By far the best curry we had in Sri Lanka! Highly recommended

The Hideout has very kind employees. We checked in easily and were quickly served a hot meal. Our room was simple but clean and very welcoming. It was great to spend some time in the pool.

The staff was accommodating, and the view of Sigiriya Rock from the room was stunning. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. However, we faced several problems. The A/C didn’t work, and the electricity went out many times. The restroom had broken locks and the wardrobe was also damaged. Poor maintenance affected our trip. The stay was pleasant but I wouldn't choose to stay again.

What a delightful place! We loved The Hideout. As the name suggests, it’s a bit off the beaten track — but only a bit. The facility is beautiful and well-maintained. Good food. Helpful staff. Friendly owners. Nice pool and grounds. All for a reasonable price. We’re glad we stayed here.

We initially thought of it as a really nice place. It is quite far away, and there are a lot of insects and monkeys bothering us later in the night. On top of it, the food seems very expensive. The food order is somewhat mismanaged at times, like ordering multiple items, probably a misunderstanding on their part, or just maybe a deliberate ploy. The pool is adequate, but there are so many restrictions around it.

Amazing service from everyone at the Hideout! Very comfortable rooms, great pool and lots of animal and bird life around the property. The chef's meals were delicious and he specially catered to our vegan friend, plus the beers were cold - much needed after the climb up Sigiriya Rock! Organising transport through the hotel was super easy - we had a great tuk-tuk driver who came and went as we needed, and we also organised our transport to Kandy through the hotel, for a great price and again, our driver was amazing! We had a very relaxing 2 nights at the Hideout and the only thing that could have made our stay better is if we could have stayed longer at the Hideout!
