The Historic Berkeley Place

My wife and I stayed here for two nights on a winter trip to Staunton with friends. We had the Beverley on the first floor, which I highly recommend. The house is well situated and an easy walk to restaurants and the theater downtown. The rooms are clean and well appointed with excellent mattresses and linens. We were more than comfortable and enjoyed the shared spaces with our friends and other guests. Our room had a private veranda which we did not get to use as three inches of snow fell. The managers are immediately responsive to questions and needs. This is a two bathrobe five star stay in a historic house. We had zero negatives about our time here.

By far-a cool place to stay for a fun weekend getaway. The house is beautiful. The grounds are kept up. The location is perfect. We reserved the Baldwin suite which accommodated two adults and two adult kids perfectly. The sheets were soft and the couch was cozy.

We stayed at The Berkeley place in VA to break up our drive from NY to NC. It happened to be my boyfriend’s birthday so wanted to stay somewhere nice. We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is beautiful and our room was spacious and very comfortable! We were in walking distance of a nice farm to table restaurant called Zynodoa. We will definitely be back! Looking forward to exploring more of the town and shops next time. Pam C.

A lovely place with a clean and comfortable room. We appreciated the sound machine in the room since it is a downtown location. The private porch was very relaxing. Parking can be a bit challenging if you have a larger vehicle. The front door can be a bit quirky. Process of booking and check in/check out was smooth. Enjoyed Sunspot Studios Glassblowing and lunch at The Pampered Palate.

We had a wonderful stay at the Berkeley. Our room was beautiful, roomy and we loved having a portion of the top deck. The service was very easy because of the unique code each guest received. It is very walkable although the hills of Staunton are a workout of the ankles! We appreciated the water, ice, cookies and ice cream! Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect place for a short stay and to explore Staunton, VA. Convenient location to access the area. Plan on bringing your own reading light and snacks. Clean, beautiful, historic accommodations.

Everything about it was fabulous! A beautiful home that’s been beautifully restored, and every amenity you could ever want whether it’s in the room or in the public areas! We stayed in the Statler Room and it has a lovely view. One thing we particularly enjoyed was the fact they have a small sound machine in the room that you can turn on at night for white noise. I definitely recommend tasting the chocolate gelato that they have in the little freezer in the common area on the first floor. Beautiful rooms, very comfortable beds and pillows! It was very difficult to get up this morning! The location is very convenient to many good restaurants, and I would definitely suggest Miller St. Grill in the old White Star Mill. Beautiful decor, wonderful atmosphere and very good food! My husband and I both very much enjoyed our stay and we will stay here again! * I always travel with house slippers, and I would advise it simply because the marble floor in the bathroom can feel cold. Great, great stay!

Loved it!! We had a wonderful stay at Berkeley Place. Such a grand but comfortable place. Very private and enjoyable. Loved the ice cream available in the foyer! Berkeley is so close to everything. An easy walk to restaurants/shops/churches/train. Will certainly stay again. Thanks so much!!!

We had the pad to ourselves and our first B&B experience was amazing. The owner is as very sweet and accommodating and the breakfast was just plain good. The weather was amazing i was just sad we didn't stay another night.
