The Murray is a beautiful classic hotel with great service and attention to detail. It is centrally located with walking distance to everything in downtown Livingston. We loved how they've kept the original look and feel of the place and its rooms, while clearly having sunk money into upgrades that made us feel comfy and right at home. Highly recommend and will look forward to stopping in again.

I love this little hotel. My husband and I visited for a long weekend, and we both fell in love with it. It's adorable, the rooms are clean, the atmosphere is so cool. And we both agreed that the best part was that everyone working here seems to be so excited and happy to be here. From the front desk staff to the cleaning crew, everyone seemed to truly have their heart in it, and that makes a real difference. So much better than anything you'll find at a chain hotel. I would 100% recommend to anyone coming through this area.

Hi fellow travelers. If you're looking for a romantic nights stay. This hotel has you covered. It was a real treat to stay at The Murray. Truly historical. The Murray created a museum within the hotel. Our beds were comfy and cozy. We had a good night's rest. The hotel, our room, and the beds were all clean. There is a real working antique elevator. Rooms locks are with a real keys. Just a note. There is no parking for the facility. You must park on the street. Or if it's the weekend, in the bank parking lot next door. Chris checked us in and then helped us to our floor, using the old fashion elevator. There is roof access for smoking, although it would be a great picnic area. I did post a photo. There is only coffee. No breakfast. There is a breakfast restaurant and a coffee shop within walking distance.

This is more than just a hotel room, it's an experience. |The rooms were intriguingly decorated in Western theme. My room was kitted with Winter skiing pictures from the past. Thoughtful little amenities (toothpaste, two packs of drip coffee, postcard from old Livingston...). And everything was spotless. Bed was super comfy; shower was great. The air conditioner was over the bed and totally soundless. (Why can't other hotels have soundless air conditioners?) If you wanted, you could have made it snow in the room, the air conditioner was so efficient. |Staff were super friendly and clearly enjoyed working there and sharing such a unique hotel with guests. All around the hotel are memorabilia - it's like a museum. On the third floor, there is access to an outside patio which provides a view of the mountains and Livingston proper. |Yes, you do hear the trains at night. The hotel is right across from the main station. That is part of its charm. Possibly a room facing the back, away from the station might be a little less noisy. But you can hear the trains anywhere in Livingston; it is a railroad town. |They have several different types of rooms, each decorated differently. |Definitely recommend a stay.

Google
For the price of the room ($390)/night we were VERY disappointed. We had just come out of the park and had food that needed to be cooked. The “kitchenette” was lacking most basic supplies and utensils. No kitchen wash cloth, no kitchen towels; no dish soap, no toaster, just 2 large cooking pans without lids, no small pans, no serving bowls, no sharp knives and the list goes on. Granted some people don’t plan to cook in the room but we did and were disappointed with what was lacking. No hand lotion. If this is meant to be rented as Airbnb's it needs to be equipped adequately.

Google
The historical feel of the hotel is great. The staff are super friendly and the rooms are beautiful. We brought our two young kids here and the stay was fantastic. The bathroom we had in our room was small, but it was put together very well. Overall I highly recommend this place.

Google
Iconic, great little lobby museum thing. Love the rooms and love the bar attached. Had a really nice lady from the front desk take us all over the hotel and give a little history lesson.

Google
Didn't stay here, but the nice front desk clerk took us up in the old-fashioned elevator for a ride! 1st elevator in Montana! Beautiful lobby and antique artifacts on display.

Yelp
I love this place. Very cool boutique hotel in a cool town. Room: really clean and well maintained. If you get the Ralph White suite, good on you! You feel the history in the decor, woodwork, etc. I wished we could've stayed more nights but they were all booked. Service: super friendly and helpful, great staff. Price: very affordable. ~200/nt off season. The lobby is gorgeous, lots of great history, charm and character. I'm definitely coming back when I'm in town.

Yelp
Staying at the Murray Hotel is a fun throwback experience. Should you find yourself in Livingston, MT, I highly recommend staying at the Murray Hotel!

Mary H.

Yelp
I LOVE The Murray! I can guarantee that many people will be disappointed. When you check in, you will notice that they tell you that there is an active train station across the street and live music in the bar on weekends. If you can't handle actual mild night life, the other end of town, by the interstate has chain motels and restaurants. Eat your bad, all inclusive, generic breakfast and head to Yellowstone. The Murray is a real Wild West Hotel. Ask for a room or mini suite on the 3rd or 4th floor at the back. By staying at The Murray, you are in walking distance of a charming downtown, three museums and 60 minutes of Yellowstone. Anthony Bourdain said it was one of his 10 favorite hotels in the world. And if you haven't made your dinner reservations at Campione in Livingston, don't bother, but try to get a seat at the bar at 5pm

Yelp
If you like places that are a bit creepy, but also whimsical and classic, this is the hotel for you! The Murray is usually well out of my price range (often exceeding $300-400/night in the summer), but I found a room with two beds in November for less than $200, so jumped at the chance to stay with them! Our room turned out to be a two bed suite that was obviously two rooms at one point in the past. There was a sitting room with a wet bar and a bedroom with two plush beds and a connecting bathroom. The beds were so comfy! The TV had a steaming device so we could log in with our Netflix account (and there were TVs in both the sitting room and the living room). Overall a lovely room and plenty of space to spread out. Be aware though, that the elevator in this hotel is as old as the building so it requires a staff operator. It's not the most accessible property. One note: The mini fridge in our room made lots of weird popping and clacking noises, so maybe this room was haunted? It definitely felt like it could be!

Yelp
I like the feel of this small hotel and it is small only 25 rooms but it's like sleeping in the 1800's. The rooms are small and comfortable but they keep the old fashion feel lots of antiques around and local items. The lobby is really comfortable plus there's a bar and cafe next door plus it's walking distance to everything g in town. Lots of celebrities stayed here

Ali M.

Yelp
What a quaint historic hotel. We loved the history of the hotel. The room was small but very nice. Everything you need for your stay. Only thing I would suggest is ask where your room is located. Ours was right over the bar. It was quite loud on the nights there was a band.

Yelp
My favorite place to stay in the U S of A! I have dreams I'm walking around this hotel years after staying. I'm not playing, I'm just saying. It's a magical place with the history. Such a perfect location in the heart of the city, if anywhere near it's where I'd stay if you're on vacation.

Yelp
Had a lovely stay here on a Saturday night 06/05. We made our reservation 24 hours in advance and got lucky to get a "same day" discount of $100. We ended up only paying $195 including tax. What a deal!!! It's a risk though since we got the last room in the hotel. The hotel is historical and has a cool neon sign. They also have a staff operated old OTIS elevator( over 115 years old). We arrived late at 10:00pm and the staff was very accomodating, we had notified them in advance that we will be checking in late. There is a bar adjacent to the hotel that has an entrance from the hotel. The bar is open till 10:00pm, and closes when all customers leave. We were concerned if there will be noise in our room. However our room was extremely quiet! Will be adding a video of the room with this review. We stayed in room 210. It was at the end of the hallway and was absolutely beautiful! A lot of notable people have stayed in this hotel including Whoopie Goldberg, a famous director, the Queen of Denmark and even the world's tallest man. I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
A whiteout(snow squall) on my way to Idaho I pulled off and chose to stay here for the night. Seeing this place had a rating of 5.0 reviews I opted to stay here as opposed to the standard commercial places. I had a great experience on all aspects, from checking in later in the evening to all my interactions with everyone. The nostalgia of the room which still had that old time feel, but with a few of the modern comforts. Wondering around the common areas and observing all the old time photos and touches of history preserved was beautiful. So many friendly dialogs and great experiences will have this place in my memory forever.

Yelp
Unfortunately had a terrible experience. Stayed here in December when it was very cold. This is a very cute boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Livingston. Staff was very friendly at check in and took us up to our room. Having booked one of their king suites for the night, it was well appointed and a really neat vintage style room. The attendant who got us checked in noticed the main radiant heaters were not working but advised the small wall heaters should be sufficient. There was no one from maintenance available to fix the heat. Needless to say the small heaters were insufficient. I understand that this is a very old boutique hotel, but the front desk is unstaffed at night and no one to contact for extra blankets or to change rooms. Miserable experience and unacceptable as we froze that night. Emailed management multiple times after checkout with no response. Would advise against staying here during winter season. Disappointed with the lack of customer service from the property, staff was great though.

Yelp
The Murray is a gorgeous hotel with a top notch staff. I do have a bone to pick on my last stay during Covid. Why the hell don't you have better hours for the restaurant? No breakfast? Noon opening? Freaking ten thirty last call? I'm on vacation and am spending San Fran prices on your room. You cut your services in half so discount your room. I probably won't stay again until they get this figured out. Worth it when they are fully rolling, but not now. No ice!? No vending!?

Yelp
What a great find.the hotel is clean and elaborate. The adjoining restaurant is great with a happening bar and live music. This place is so clean, spacious and loaded with amenities I feel I should plan a trip back to area just to stay here again. PS. Check experia type sites to see if they are running any discounts.

Yelp
Room was large, made from combining two former small rooms, and well decorated. Bed was comfy. Probably way over furnished. The hotel was full of old furniture and curios as a historic hotel should be. The elevator was old, historic you could say, could only be run by an employee. Quaint? Inconvenient if you have a weak heart and can't walk to the 4th floor. On the trudge up 4 floors there are landings with antique furniture that you're not allowed to sit in to take a breather. Yes, an employee could have run the elevator for us if there hadn't been 2 parties waiting to be checked in. We had a beautiful 4th floor corner room with views to the east and north, right next to the red neon HOTEL sign. The venetian blinds helped with that. BTW Why does this place have only 2 Yelp $$??? I've never understood the premium price you pay to stay at places like this, higher price for inconvenience? And how charming are ancient radiators? Shouldn't they have been removed when the place was renovated? You've got to really WANT TO stay here, there are more convenient and more economical places to stay. (((The Econo Lodge gets a 4.0 out of 5.0 on TripAdvisor. for less than half the cost of this place.))) What we didn't catch when we booked the place was that to the north, just across the street is a VERY busy railroad freight yard. All night long there is railroad business going on. Thoughtfully, the Murray Hotel provides EARPLUGS, on the night stands to help you not be bothered by the noise. If you're a train buff you'll love this place. We were looking forward to a great breakfast before we headed into Yellowstone... all that was available was the coffee shop called Gil's next door, not sure if its actually part of the hotel. Sat down, looked at the menu for 15 seconds and opted for the Macs down the street instead since the offerings appeared to be equivalent and the pricing was much more favorable at MickeyD's. Chinese food down the street was great, although expensive. That'll be enough historic hotels for a while.

Yelp
This historic Grand Dame of Livingston is an incredible gem. We had a two bedroom suite. The bathroom is not posh, but it is updated and nice. The furniture, the uneven wood floors, the noisy trains, the downstairs honky tonk, the crazy old hand crank elevator operated only by staff, the thread bare lobby! The dark doors with hand painted numbers and transoms. All fantastic. But its about the ghosts of the past, the famous stars, the celebrtiy directors that have stayed here that add a patina to the aura of this place. Its hard to descriobe, but the air here, the fresh clean air still holds the feelings of all the patrons prior. Its almost paranormal, but in a good way. STAY HERE!

Yelp
CAN I PLEASE MOVE IN? From the second we checked in, everything was perfect! Deborah at the front desk was a delight, our room was awesome (the bathroom was amazing), the bar attached to the hotel is super fun (food is great too), there's a rooftop patio, and seriously i want to move in. Or at least stay for more than one night! Anthony Bourdain stayed here in, in the same suite where filmmaker and screenwriter Sam Peckinpah lived for the last 7 years of his life! (yes, i did creep up to the floor where this suite is, just to look at the room for the sole fact that Anthony Bourdain slept there - i don't know who the hell Sam Peckinpah is, i'll google that later! BUT ANTHONY BOURDAIN! MY CELEB CRUSH!) When i booked this hotel over the phone, the lady warned me that the only room available was right over the bar and right beside the train tracks, so it might be a little loud - but I am going to book the same room next time - it was $85/night and we weren't bothered at all! Plus, the hotel supplied ear plugs! So cute! (we didn't need them!) I want to go back right now. Watch this clip if you have time! http://www.secondstreetbistro.com/anthony-bourdain-no-reservations/

Yelp
Such a rare find! Well worth the price. Historical and in a great location. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were darling.

Yelp
The Murray Hotel greets you with a sign over the reception desk that reminds you to check your guns in at the hotel. A little disturbing considering my Boyfriend was trying to take me to a romantic spot on a cross country trip full of Days Inn and Best Westerns. The place is the exact opposite of disturbing The amazing details that go into this place is what it's all about. Each room is owned by a private owner. So essentially they are condo rooms. They have standard size rooms and suites. We stayed in a suite and we loved it. LOVED IT. So clean and so fresh and updated, giving it the Montana western flare without feeling like you stepped into a dude ranch. It's tasteful. I really liked how when we checked in, the Hotel employee gave us a tour of the space, personally took us to our room and gave us history on the hotel and the room itself. Its quirky, its warm and I would go back again and again and again.

Yelp
Nice old hotel but it's way to loud to enjoy it. The trains going by at all hours and the bar downstairs with the live band till 2:00 am its ridiculous to try and block out all the noise with ear plugs. The hotel is historic and the staff is very nice but it's not a place for any sort of resting or sleeping. You can feel the bass guitar in your bed and then the crowd goes out back or on the sidewalk to yell and scream at each other when the bar closes at 2:00am, who thought a night club with live music below a hotel with paper thin walls was a good idea? Save yourself and stay somewhere else.

Yelp
Love the historical charm. I had a great night sleep despite the passing train. My husband however could not sleep all night. He claimed to hear strange unexplainable sounds. We did a search in the morning of the hotel's history and came to find out that his experiences was not unique. We stayed in room 305.

Linda F.

Yelp
A fun step back in time. Such a wonderful staff. Everyone was so fun-loving and friendly. They also had great restaurant recommendations! Downtown Livingston is a charming place to visit. I can't wait to return.

Stacey H.

Yelp
I grew up in Livingston but hadn't been back for 20 years. Stayed at the Murray for 2 nights. We had the grand master suite. It was very comfortable and beautifully decorated as was the entire hotel. I liked going down the stairs so I could check out the other floors as all the decor is unique. Lots of charm and history here. Staff was very nice. Loved hearing the train rumble through town again so definitely didn't need the earplugs. Fantastic location everything is within walking distance and we were able to get coffee and have some good dinners or a couple beers without worrying about driving back.
google avatar

Kristina P.

Yelp
This place is nothing more than amazing. As soon as you walk in the front door you are greeted by the western style of years gone by. I was waiting to see Wild Bill or Calamity Jane come walking around the corner. The staff is very accommodating and welcoming. You must go up the old fashion hand cranked elevator at least once. I am claustrophobic and I didn't mind the ride at all. Our room was perfectly decorated with two comfy fainting couches, wash basin style sink and old tub. King size bed was as big as Montana and I wanted to take it back home with me! Be sure to spend a few days as it just gets better every day.
google avatar

Bill F.

Yelp
Easily the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Paper thin walls and practically on top of the train tracks. To this point, earplugs are standard issue (not kidding!). On the positive side, every possible convenience is offered in the form of toothpaste, brush, deodorant, EmergenC....you name it. It's like staying at CVS. Only louder!
google avatar

mahi m.

Yelp
Here's what you do: spend the day fishing the spring creeks, or maybe the Firehole down in the park, then head up to the Murray to check in for a brief nap before you fish the evening hatch. Come back in time to walk down to the Chop House (they stop serving at 10pm), drink large cold beers, and stumble back to the Murray for a good night's sleep. Repeat. The Murray got stripped and sold in 1979, so the current owners had to search all over to replace the historic details. The result is a mix of antique and modern, with kitchenettes in the suites and clawfoot tubs. Best baskets of amenities in any hotel I've stayed in (razors, emergen-C, dried fruit, toothpaste) and a rooftop deck. All for as low as $149, and that's even cheaper if you're sharing with your buddies. If you're thinking of staying in Bozeman or Gardiner, it's worth traveling a little further to stay here.

Yelp
This place is a one and a four star... cool hotel for its history but last night was a very uncomfortable experience when our heater was broken. The front desk gal came and checked it and noticed it was freezing in the room so we had to leave the door open for an hour to get heat from the hallway. The heater never kicked on. We ended up just using all the blankets and towels in the room to stay warm. It was to cold to not be under the covers and definitely too cold to showers. We told the gals at the front desk in the morning that it never warmed up but we tough it out since we had a few cocktails in us and couldn't go somewhere else. They didn't offer us a discount, or another night at a different time or not charge us for the stay. Very disappointing!

Yelp
Went with a group of people to this place. You can clearly party till the wee hours of the morning without hitting any noise violations as we were not the only ones there laughing and making noise. The lady was stellar. We initially had a room with two beds and a couple more people showed, so since they had a double room with 3 beds, we were upgraded at no cost. Place had a small kitchenette which was nice, with couch and chairs. The place has a bar right underneath ith with karaoke, pool table, and darts. Drink prices are dirt cheap in montana. 3 shots for under 10 dollars. And pitcher of beer for I think about $6.75. Montana, half the pirce, twice the fun.

Nancy W.

Yelp
The hotel itself was wonderful: comfy beds, AC, nice interior, etc. It's really a shame that most, if not all, of the staff were incredibly rude. Any legitimate question we asked was answered with a scoff and a judgmental reply. It felt as though we were an imposition simply for checking in. This "too cool for you" attitude was something we thought we'd left behind in San Francisco, and it's a shame that it put a damper on an otherwise wonderful hotel. The restaurant and town were otherwise lovely.

Yelp
Hsven't stayed here as I prefer the hotels down the road with heated swimming pools. This was my favorite place to grab a drink. There are quite a few bars in Livingston but this one seemed to have more people my age and music of my taste on the jukebox. i loved that the bartender would skip through sappy country songs if someone put it on. thank you!

Yelp
Absolutely a great place to say. They managed to keep the history of the hotel and town, while giving a great comfortable place with amenities. Rooms are comfortable while historic, great decor, great bed, great everything. Other hotels could learn a thing or two from the Murray. Absolutely unbelievable, and perfect from top to bottom. Wow.

Faith C.

Yelp
Avoid this place if you want a clean room. Paid $250 for a room with a queen bed and pull out couch. Bathroom floor had a ton of dark hairs all over the place-- the floor had not been washed/swept. Toilet not clean. The floor of the bedroom also had not been swept/vacuumed and was filthy. Pull out couch had dirty sheets on it. Requested clean sheets and pillows from front desk. Front desk claimed they had run out of pillows so we had no pillows for the sofa bed. This place is historic but it is also filthy. Stay elsewhere in town for a fraction of the price if you want a clean, quiet room. It's noisy with the train across the street. Website makes this place look very nice and upscale but it is totally misleading. What a ripoff.

Brian S.

Yelp
I always love staying at The Murray. This is a classic old western hotel with tons of cool history. The rooms are large and comfortable. The rooftop is a great place to relax during the day or night. The bar attached to the lobby is a fun scene at night and has great burgers and beer selection. Livingston is a great small town to spend some time relaxing, and The Murray is definitely the place to stay in town.

Yelp
This place is charming and quirky. We loved it. The trains did not keep us up at all. This is a really great building for people who can appreciate its beauty. If you are looking for something sleek and modern this place is not for you. And it's totally not haunted... ah hmm... : / Don't let the lobby freak you out. There is a manual elevator that was really pretty cool. The woman who was there was very friendly. We were upgraded to a suite with a kitchen. They also are dog friendly. I would definitely stay again next time I'm passing through.

Yelp
Always heard about The Murray Hotel being historic and legendary, finally got a chance to stay overnight on way to Yellowstone National Park. We got really lucky and went at the right time when the hotel had a seasonal special of half priced rooms. It happened to be a Thursday night, even the 2nd Street Bistro which is the amazing restaurant attached to the hotel where Anthony Bourdain dined with Jim Harrison was running a buy one get one dinner special on Thursday nights only during the winter. We got real keys to our lovely room on the top floor and the key to the rooftop patio and the gate as we checked in. The staff that operated the elevator for us was very friendly and knowledgeable and told us the history of the hotel and the bird cage elevator from 100 years ago. Our room was beautifully vintage with cable TV and wifi. It was too cold to hang out on the rooftop patio because it's winter but I can imagine how wonderful it would be on a summer evening. The Murray is in the center of downtown so we walked around the neighborhood to check out all the cute stores and galleries for a couple of hours and came right back for our dinner reservation. It was all around very special. Would love to come back in the summer!

John C.

Yelp
Beautiful historic hotel. Nice rooms. comfy beds. Nice staff. But do not opt for a room above the bar unless you plan on staying at the bar till they close. It's Monday night and the bar is still bumping past midnight.

Yelp
Stayed in Murray Hotel 2 nights 2nd floor while visiting Yellowstone. The hotel is an historic hotel. When checked in after 8 hours driving on the way to Yellowstone we specifically asked for 4th floor and quiet room and were promised that the one we got on the 2nd floor is a quiet room, and that we're not going to hear any noise. That happened to be Incorrect the noise coming from the train and trucks driving down the street was so loud you can hear it anywhere.BE AWARE the hotel is located near a BUSY RAILROAD and if you're looking for a quiet place at night you won't find it here. Pro: comfortable bed, Mini refrigerator and micro in room,2 flat screen T.V. Ice machine in hallway, A/C ( unable to adjust temp only on/off button),nice coffee shop and restaurant in a walking distance, the person at the front desk was welcoming. Con: the hotel located near railroad and the noise level coming from the train is VERY LOUD and will wake up almost every person this will go on and off all night. If you have no problem falling back to sleep then you're OK. We couldn't because the once we fell a sleep there were huge trucks driving by or another train. We found ear plugs with a note on the night stand saying something like: If you found the train noise not very romantic you can use it. Not a good sign! We were lucky that while our stay the band at the bar down stairs didn't play. So that wasn't an issue. There is nobody at the front desk from 10pm to 8am. Only the staff can operate the elevator because it's 100 something years old. So no elevator during this time. In my room no desk for laptop Faucets located in the bedroom. Not counter top to put your toiletry. Faucets and sink are old and you'll get water from it as long as you hold to it. How you suppose to wash your hands like it. Very inconvenient. Towels smelled funny No washer & dryer in the hotel Parking on the street Room Tip: If you are looking for a good quiet sleep it may not be best choice choice.

Puzzik f.

Yelp
I guess it comes down to what you really like, let's start with the good: 1. Decent bed. 2. Antique like style hotel. (Was built in 1904 after all and the elevator still works) 3. Great customer service. 4. Wireless. (gotta have my internet so I can find food places, etc.) 5. Very cool, old fashioned, Western Style downtown, lots of places to eat and some very cool shops to visit. $89/night for a regular room plus tax. What I did not like about this place is the noise. I hope you like trains, because there is a railway on the other side of W. Park Street, roughly 400 ft from the hotel. You'll be hearing them, even around 10:45 PM. If you can sleep with earplugs (I can not), you'll be doing better. Next is the bathroom, which is decent, howerver you can't keep the water in the sink running unless you keep holding the handle.....I can not stand this, how does one suppose to wash his hands like this?

Yelp
Great historic hotel - lots of character and friendly staff. Located in the center of town near shops and two great places for food: 2nd Street Bistro and MT Cup. The original train station is across the street and now is only used for freight, which may be a problem for some because the train runs through town at all hours. We didn't find it a problem, and it adds to the overall experience. We stayed in a two bedroom suite with kitchen that was completely renovated - very comfortable with all amenities. If you're looking for a unique experience, this is the place for you.

Scott P.

Yelp
First off, this is a historical building, but the rooms have modern amenities. We found out that the rooms are actually condominiums that you can buy and then rent to the hotel guests or use for yourself. Each room is decorated differently, but the ones that I saw maintain the vintage feel you get when you enter the hotel's lobby. The elevator is 100 years old and you have to have one of the staff operate it for you. My wife and I loved this touch. You also get an actual key to your room! There was a nice sized fridge in our room as well as microwave. The bed was a real King size bed and quite comfortable. It looked like our room was made from three of the original hotel rooms. It was very spacious and comfortable. There was sitting area, a bed area and the bathroom had a claw foot bathtub in it. In the bathroom we were supplied with everything other hotels give you (soap and shampoo) and way more than we expected (combs, toothbrush, tooth paste and even a razor, plus more). There were also ear plugs on the bed to block out the train whistles at night, the hotel is right across the street from the railroad depot. Some people might consider this a con, but to us it just added to the ambiance. Finally, there are many good places to eat and drink nearby, including two restaurants attached to the hotel. We would like to come back here some day and spend more time in Livingston. The only bad thing about the hotel is having to find a parking place on the street.

Yelp
I get out to Montana as often as possible and one of my trip highlights is hitting Livingston and the Murray Hotel. It's almost one stop shopping...get a room at the Murray, go downstairs to the Murray Bar, and have a fantastic dinner at the adjoining 2nd Street Bistro. Wonderful amenities, big thick, fluffy towels (I ordered some for home), and just a overall unbelievable experience. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Nice hotel, very well maintained for the age. Staff was professional and helpful. I enjoyed my one night there.

Yelp
What a lovely place -- in a lovely town! We stayed for a few nights. The staff was very helpful with recommendations on what to do for entertainment and dining. The room was BEAUTIFUL, with views of the mountains. It was scrupulously clean. There were signs that warned us about train whistles in our room, but the hotel supplied complementary earplugs. We didn't even use them and slept fine -- I always loved the sound of trains going by. It's kind of like a passport to a bygone era.

Yelp
OMG! This is like walking on to a classic movie set! So beautiful, with the antiques and special touches. Friendly staff and super comfy vintage decor in rooms! The bed is like sleeping on clouds too! With downtown Livingston attractions and unique charm this gal is very pleased. Shhh, don't tell!

Yelp
Didn't stay here, only looked around while having breakfast at their bar. Old turn of the century Hotel that's kept its flavor. I must stop in. Stay if you have the opportunity

Yelp
Comfortable, charming, historic and in the town so all is within walking distance. The room is updated yet rustic as one would expect for a historic building. I will return.

Yelp
Loved this historic hotel! The staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel is charming. We enjoyed a king suite for one night. Our disappointment? We were JUST staying the one night. We happened in on the night of the Murray's Halloween party, the bar was hopping all night and the hotel was decorated to spooky perfection. What fun! We'll definitely stay again if we ever find ourselves in Livingston.

Yelp
Take a trip back in time to stay here. Like every hotel you see in old westerns. The elevators is very old and only run by the staff so be prepared to use the steps. Room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Old tubs and sinks so can be a little challenging. We did not find hotel that noisy but were there on a Sunday. Parking could be an issue if you are there during the week. A unique place to stay for the experience.

Yelp
Historic, quaint, reasonably priced hotel in downtown Livingston. Yeah, it's noisy. Paper thin walls and near the train tracks. Older amenities. Clean. Good wi-fi on second floor, at least. Our basic room was smallish, and would not be good if you had a lot of luggage or gear. Very convenient to bars and some good eateries.
