Very disappointed with my stay. This hostel was a terrible experience from start to finish . The place is not clean with dirty bathrooms and common areas . It is extremely noisy at night , with loud parties , shouting and no respect for guests who want to sleep . There is no proper management to control the noise or maintain cleanliness. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a safe , clean and respectful place to stay. Avoid this place , you can find much better options in Perth.

I had an amazing stay at The Hive Hostel! The atmosphere is super friendly, the common areas are always clean, and the location is perfect for exploring the city. A huge shoutout to Suzie at reception — she does an incredible job! Always smiling, helpful, and welcoming, she truly makes the stay even better. You can really tell she loves what she does, and it’s thanks to her that the hostel feels so much like home. I would definitely stay here again!

I lived here for 7 months. Horrible facilities. However I met some of coolest people I’ve ever met. This hostel is probably the best one I’ve stayed in in terms of social life. All kinds of nationalities and a vibrant atmosphere. Facilities: The rooms stink. There’s a hole in the ground in the living room, there’s cockroaches everywhere, tables wabble, they don’t have enough cutlery and the worst: there’s not enough toilets and showers for 120 people. When I wanted to do a number 2 or take a shower I had to wait for 20 minutes at times. Briefly said: everything in this place needs renovation. Staff: I never had a problem with the manager or staff. Though what I witnessed of how staff and manager treated my friends was awful. People got banned for seemingly no reason. A mate of mine paid for a parking space for 2 months and suddenly the manager said they rented out the space to someone else and he has to move his car or else he will get kicked out. But when friends of the staff broke rules on multiple occasions, they suffered no consequences. Owners: I have seen the owners of this place only a few times. One of them always came in with a shirt saying „make money not friends“. And this seems to be his motto. The hive must make a huge amount of money every week and still the facilities are incredibly bad. You shouldn’t be running a hostel if you put money over friends. You understand nothing about travelling and the people you’re hosting. Conclusion: The hive itself is awful. Don’t come here if you don’t plan on staying for long and making connections. Find somewhere with life quality appropriate for this price. But if you’re interested in meeting cool people and build friendships and you’re willing to sacrifice some comfort for that, this is the place to come to.

This is by far the worst hostel i've stayed in (and I've stayed in many). First of all, they completely messed up our booking and split our party into 3 separate rooms and when we asked to change were met with a very rude response from the staff! Secondly, the hostel room themselves are some of the grimiest I've seen, with mattresses as thin as paper with sheets that don't fit the bed and bed frames that make the loudest noise when you make the slightest move. Thirdly, the hostel is like a mini France, so if you're not french don't expect to make any friends or be treated well! We received a fair amount of disrespect from the other guests... Lastly, I am of the impression that the hostel does not treat its staff well. I had one receptionist tell me they've had to work a 15 hour shift regularly (5am - 8pm), and being paid absolutely minimal, and other staff constantly complaining how tired and overworked they are as well. The ONLY saving grace of this hostel is its good location, but there are plenty other hostels in the area, so I would avoid this one at all costs! (it's not worth the cheap price, trust me). This hostel is in dire need of a thorough inspection Stay safe travellers xx

I have loved staying at the Hive over the last few months. It’s a great hostel to stay long term and there is a great community feeling. The staff have always been really helpful when I’ve needed anything and I’m very happy that I chose Hive when I moved here.

Honestly the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. My bed was the most uncomfortable thing ever, the springs were prodding in my back every night. The kitchen was big but there was nowhere near enough cutlery and crockery. All the furniture is broken and dirty too. The receptionist was probably the rudest person I’ve ever met, nothing but sarcasm came out of her mouth and I quite often heard her complaining about guests including their lack on fluent English. She was never helpful and made guests feel like they were a nuisance for checking in and out, as well as just being aggressive at every chance she got. Just don’t stay here, please.

Nice place, but not nearly enough bathrooms for the amount of guests in the hostel, especially male toilets. The owner doesn't agree, but I don't think he would stay in his own establishment. Also, beware of the french mafia that can make or break your stay at hive. Otherwise, lovely place and great people

Friendly atmosphere Free second hand clothes and shoes Large courtyard / car parks Washing machines/ dryers Nice TV room Simple and functional kitchen Clean rooms and bathrooms Good management / security cameras - you feel safe. Good location - close to the bus and the train station, the restaurants and the nightclubs GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY - I WILL COME BACK FOR SURE.
