The Hive Hotel

The location on Lamai beach is according to us one of the beast. The restaurant is good. The breakfast is ok but could be better.. The rooms are ok, nothing special. Service is very good, friendly staaf and very helpful! We booked a standard double room, where the door was facing the Main Street. It was impossible to sleep without earplugs, the bars where playing music until 05:00 in the mornings.. I could stay here again but would have booked the villa instead! But If you take everything in to account, it’s very affordable.

I stayed at the Hive Hotel in November for 4 days. The hotel is charming with chalet buildings set in tree lined gardens. I had a room with a balcony. The room was very clean and modern. The bed was very firm but I still got a good nights sleep. The AC is very efficient. The staff at Reception were very friendly, very helpful and well organised. The buffet style breakfast was excellent. I opted for the cooked breakfast, egg, toast, mushrooms, and cooked tomatoes. I didn't use the pool as it was raining most of the time, but it looked very nice. The buffet restaurant looks over Lamai beach. The beach is superb, very clean with beautiful sands and crashing waves. Hin Ta and Hin Yai granite rock formations are a short walk. Massages are available along the beach. Motorbike hire, restaurants and bars are close by. Wat Ratchathammaram temple is very near and well worth a visit. I would love to return in the future.

Great hotel right on the beach. Good clean rooms, excellent breakfast but lunch and dinner not recommended, you can get better much cheaper in town. Only a short walk to town and beach bars. Plenty of loungers, spoilt by guests who seem to get up at dawn to claim a bed with a towel and then use it for a few minutes later that day. Reception staff very helpful.

Ignore the bad reviews, some people just dont know how to set expectations for what they pay. If you looking for modern chic hotel rooms so guess pay double elsewhere if you want to be on the best location in the area. In general I liked my stay there as price was good and location is great. Room itself was bit outdated but guess I just booked the cheapest option. Still was OK, decent bed and hot water plus fridge, only problem was no mattress protector. Resort itself is amazing; like a small jungle on the beach, everything was very clean and organized, you can have massage at low price on the beach and there is also nice restaurant just near. 50m from the entrance you can walk to the main street to find all you need, 7/11, exchange, bars, food, etc. Stuff always smile and nice, even offered extra breakfast as I arrived very early in the morning before check in time.

We had a deluxe villa, which was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was moderate, after 2 mornings we decided to have breakfast somewhere else. We had a lovely time, the personel where very friendly and helped us booking pickup from the ferry. Also laundry service was possible. Great location right at the beach, perfect for kids. However the sunbeds and umbrellas should be renewed. Location is also great, outside there are many good restaurants and convenient stores. Thank you!

Lovely complex and gardens the staff are so friendly and the maintenance team are always working on the gardens and happy to greet cannot fault the staff. I wish we would have been allocated a different room and I think our experience may have been different. the complex is peaceful and quiet can hear the sea we often went to the bar until closing playing cards listening to the sea and then walking back to our room at the far end by the street in the 400s block we were 412.. you just hear a constant drum and base from around 10pm until 5am every night. we only realised on our last night where this was coming from there is aome sort of bar or club directly in front of this block and it is so relentless all night every night.. id recommend the hotel the facilities are great lovely pool right by the sea. food is fantastic. just bring earphones incase you are allocated in the rave block 😥😪 or pay the extra to get a garden room there is less chance of being allocated thos area then

We love this hotel this was our second time staying here. Breakfast was delicious. Best part was the time of year as there were no sunbed hoggers it was great and would recommend this time again even the resort wasn’t as busy so it was perfect. We stayed in a bungalow and was perfect much brighter and bigger than the room we had last time so would recommend. No noise at all from the street. Staff lovely.

Our experience was absolutely terrible. Before arrival and careful reading of negative reviews we wanted to save our holiday and cancel. As it was booked as non-refundable, they had right to refuse to refund us. Despite that we decided to check in and see it with our own eyes. I honestly burst into tears, as room was depressing, worse than a cheap tourist hostel. The beach nearby was awful-dirt, crowded full of sellers pushing massages and cheap goods. Area is terrible - full of loud nightclubs, prostitution bars, noise and dirt. the pool area was dirty, crowded, and the furniture was old, tired and not welcoming at all. This is not your place if you are looking for relaxation or a decent environment. We left immediately after check in. Manager called me and was quite rude, offering voucher to use to stay in the hotel we run away from (?), blaming me for cancelling late. We were forced to find another hotel last minute, which caused us stress and extra expenses. I am also very surprised by all the positive reviews here. Honestly I wouldn't believe them after what we experienced. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone - dishonest management, terrible service, and very depressing surroundings. Avoid at all costs.
