The Hive Hotel

Very nice hotel with swimming pool and restaurant/bar right on a wonderful area of Lamai beach. Not really crowded at all (last day of July 25).|Rooms (we had ground level and I recommend) are facing a garden behind the reception, pool and beach, just 45 seconds walk really.|Included buffet breakfast was a plus, really nice and varied (continental, Asian, nothing extraordinary but anything you might want)|The main street behind the Hotel site is very central (still, not the most hot and central part of Lamai) but you will find a couple of good restaurants and a seven eleven right there, very close.|Personnel is perfect, kind and professional. I will come here again, no doubt.

This is a lovely property set in a pleasant garden setting. The staff are very friendly and professional and are happy to assist with your needs and requests. Special credit should go to Nui (the restaurant manager), who with a friendly smile and a wealth of experience, is constantly trying to improve the service provided. The rooms are well appointed and functional. The direct beach access and private area are a distinct advantage. The ocean safety netting is also a big plus. The only negatives are the somewhat smaller than required pool area and an obvious lack of shade. In the middle of the day and afternoon, there is limited shade, despite the plentiful umbrellas. I was rather disappointed with Reception when I asked if they would call me a metered taxi to take me to the airport upon check-out. They insisted that they would only call their preferred private drivers. After I virtually insisted, they agreed to call but pretended not to know the number. Rather poorly disguised collaboration and not good PR. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in a better than average beachside resort.

Great location, great rooms for this price with caring and smiling staff everywhere. You receive a quick response for your demands. One missing point is breakfast variety could be more but it's definitely not bad.

Awesome beach front resort in Lamai. Not a 5 star property but it suited us perfectly. We had the cheapest room and it was 1 min walk to the pool on the beach. Great location literally on the beach and only a 2 min walk to the main strip of Lamai. Also beautiful gardens surrounding the rooms. Highly recommended and we’d def stay here again

Lovely, relaxed resort in a great location on Lamai beach. The rooms are very comfortable, and the staff are wonderful! The buffet breakfast caters for all tastes and was served in the dining room adjacent to the pool and beach area. So breakfast done and straight onto a sun bed! The resort is like a well-maintained jungle, and this meant quite a few mosquitos, the only negative thing we found. The resort does all it can to reduce this issue, but you will need repellant to hand when sitting outside your room!

Staying at the hive hotel in Lamai was so enjoyable. Friendly and helpful staff, amenities were clean and food was unreal. The location of the hotel was epic, sitting on the nicest area of the beach for swimming and right off the main road where shops/restaurants sit for dinner and night activities. Will definitely be back!!

I enjoyed my stay, the sea is next to you from the hotel can be accessed, Rooms are acceptable with the price value, it was clean. Toilet was clean as well . Breakfast was included and it was acceptable , they also provide omlet but you need to order it, free of charge They provide towels in the pool area for the beach and the pool. The pool was greecy a bit . Otherwise i had a nice stay and will repeat Excellent location near all markets where you can enjoy LAMAI night market with variety of food

Beautiful location, lovely tropical gardens leading down to the restaurant and the beach. Some rooms you can hear the music from the bars until late.
