The Hog Penny

This is a traditional pub with a typical UK style pub menu conveniently located in downtown Hamilton. The food was fresh, hot and tasty. A little pricey but average for touristy Bermuda. I didn't notice the service charge until I had already paid the bill and included a tip. Would have felt better about it if they had provided that information.

This restaurant is just a few feet off the main strip in Hamilton. Great location and it has a nice bar. The food was only ok with tourist pricing. The servers were very slow, and the place was very quiet due to the Wednesday street fair. A service charge for tips is included in the bill, always check your bill. They just give you a credit card mech for changes, and will ask for additional tips. Would suggest other places next time.

Classic British pub, great for pub food and seafood and great drinks. You will enjoy it for sure. Definitely get the rock fish. It is the local specialty. The fish chowder is also local. Wahoo bites were fine but not that special.

My family and I arrived in Hamilton late one evening, and after trying several restaurants that couldn’t accommodate our party of seven, we decided to take a chance and walked into The Hog Penny. To our surprise and delight, they welcomed us in with open arms, even though it was close to closing time. The service was exceptional—phenomenal, really. Despite the late hour, the staff made us feel completely at ease, never once rushing us through our meal. The food was outstanding, with each dish served hot, fresh, and full of flavor. We couldn't have asked for a better dining experience, especially after a long day of travel. The Hog Penny truly saved the day, and I can't recommend it enough. If you're ever in Bermuda, make sure to stop by—but get there early!!!! you’re in for a treat! Highly recommended!!!

YUM! great for a quick bite. classic english pub vibes. the wahoo bites were my first encounter with wahoo on the island, and as someone who really does not like fish, it was amazing. i’m not actually sure why i got them, but i’m glad i did!! they weren’t fishy whatsoever, very fresh and soft, tender, and meaty. the tartar sauce was also very delicious for dipping. also got an order of onion rings which were also very fresh and tasty. they came with a white mystery sauce (i didn’t hear what it was) that was FANTASTIC. highly recommend the savanna dry cider if you’re a fan of a crisp not-too-sweet hard cider. the somer’s amber ale was also very good. most importantly they had good air conditioning inside, so a nice break from the heat.

Visited 8/3/24 expensive restaurant wifi included if you order Something from the menu. I ordered the WooHoo bites. It came with about 9 or 10 pieces.

A solid hit out of the park. Comfort food par excellence. Calamari, Caesar salad, burger… One pet peeve, French fries were frozen not fresh but besides that great.

Great service, food, and quiet atmosphere. The fries were nice and hot and very crispy. Great wings, pretzels and club sandwich.
