9 "Bridgerton"-Inspired Vacation Rentals in U.K. and Ireland - AFAR

"A historic museum in Bath that doubled as an aristocratic residence in the series; its period interiors and architectural setting make it a recognizable filming site for scenes requiring an opulent urban home." - Cat Sposato

The Holburne Museum is a real gem in Bath—both for its art collection and its beautiful setting at the end of Great Pulteney Street. The building itself is stunning, blending historic elegance with a sleek modern extension at the back. Inside, the collection includes fine and decorative arts from the 17th to 19th centuries, with everything from paintings and sculpture to ceramics and silver. It’s a peaceful, well-curated space that invites you to slow down and enjoy the details. Whether you’re an art lover or just looking for a quiet and inspiring place to visit in Bath, the Holburne is definitely worth your time.

Recent visit to Bath was excited to see this museum exterior as it’s featured in Bridgerton. Was even more excited to know the day I visited had free admission to the museum. Multiple levels with great art. Only confusion was the Mr Doodle art in the lobby and some modern art in one room that did not really fit the flow of the museum. Staff were friendly and pointed out such interesting pieces. Such a treat to visit.

A fabulous experience! We visited on a Saturday morning, entering at 10 AM sharp. The museum beautifully blends a heritage building with a modern glass structure overlooking the gardens. Inside, there’s a well-curated shop and three floors of galleries showcasing impressive collections of jewelry, silver, sculptures, and paintings. Highlights include unique pieces by Stubbs and Sir Thomas Lawrence in the permanent exhibition. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. A must-visit!

Free admission on Wednesdays after 3pm. The special exhibition is not included in that free admission, though. A small museum with a cafe and lovely garden in the rear.

We weren’t sure what to expect when we arrived, but it is a lovely museum with an eclectic collection of artifacts. Who else has such a vast collection of spoons, including a surprisingly beautiful memorial spoon? Plus you can pretend you are Lady Danbury from Bridgerton!

Small art gallery but worth a visit. Cost £12 to get in. Lovely cafe attached.

The Holburne gave us a sense of what Bath would have been like in its heyday, the museum like Bath then, is full of treasures small and large including some very imposing Reynolds portraits and the tiniest of miniature curia. Definitely worth a visit.

Loved the little Museum. Seeing original pieces of Holborne, Gainsborough and Turner.

Yelp
A charming museum with a nice cafe and comfortable outdoor seating. Beautiful park connected to the museum, a must-visit museum in Bath, England.

Yelp
Not a bad fulfillment of my walk down the long street. The Op Art exhibit is going on right now and it's sort of cool but small for the price I paid. But I got the package that included cafe food so that softened the blow of the cost a bit. The rest of the gallery has a few gems but I'm a little overwhelmed with the ostentatious framing.

Yelp
This museum is a bit meh. Small and overpriced for what you get to see. Stick with the other museums around.

Yelp
The Holburne gets a head start, its pride of place at the generous end of a self indulgent Bath terrace. The cafe is great, a modern glass-veiled cuboidal annex to the rear that does solid soups and scones. The museum is decent, It is presented very well and with ample information. If you like 19th century crockery then this is your bag. The Gold exhibition was half decent, expensive at £8 for a small room telling you how gold is moulded and what you can do with it, I could have bought 5 minutes at the spa, so I did.

Yelp
They demanded I leave the museum for the sheer crime of waiting on a partner who works there. Ridiculously over priced cafe and overhead rather racist comments from the front desk workers when they thought no visitors were around.

Yelp
A costly cafe in a ceramic carbuncle with some second class culture. Don't bother with much except the paintings and Sir William's collection. The cafe is costly and the new extension quite dire admittedly not as bad as the Southgate Centre but nonetheless..

Yelp
My 5 year old son and I had a really horrible experience at the Holburne museum today. My son and I were on the first floor in the large exhibition space admiring the white paper style fabric installation when he tried to use the computer there which is for public use. This was when an older lady with a shoulder length grey bob who presumably was a volunteer ran towards him, grabbed his arm and dragged him away and telling him severely off. To be honest I was in a state of shock and so was my son.

Yelp
Stunning art gallery with an emphasis on eighteenth century painting and definitely worth a visit if you are a fan of Gainsborough or landscapes as they are well represented. It isn't very big and doesn't take long to walk around. There is a small shop selling art books and postcards.
