Google
Best coffee I had in Frankfurt after trying a few of the notable ones. Their coffee roasts were smooth yet bold. Highly recommend as they make their own beans. I ended up taking a bag home and they were kind enough to grind it for me. Great coffee and service even though they were packed on a Saturday.

Google
Great place with very good specialty coffee! And I’ve got my favourite espresso tonic 😋

Google
Stopped in for a coffee before walking the river. The staff were very helpful I ordered a kiss the hippo which is more like a cross of coffee and tea It was very fruity and light and definitely delicious. I really like the simple approach to coffee and the design of the place. Stop in and relax for a few if you can.

Google
i had a morning to spend in frankfurt and this cafe came highly recommended. it was opened on a public holiday. the staff were not the friendliest unless i took the first initiative to speak to them, but what made up for it was the coffee and the pastries. the coffee was smooth, house blend was a dark roast and it was good. try the egg tarts, the puff pastry is delicate and crispy, and the egg custard is smooth and sweet. great for a morning before zipping off to explore the rest of germany.

Google
I myself am working at a speciality coffee shop so I wanted to visit this place and see what it feels like. It’s nice. The vibe is nothing out of the ordinary. They were super busy. I wanted to have a good conversation about the coffee. But that couldn’t happen. It’s okay for busy days. I liked my coffee. It was brewed nicely. For an experience, it was nice.

Google
Very very good coffee. Best coffee in town probably as they claim themselves. Granola was good, the sourdough with salmon came a bit as a surprise as is was a creamcheese paste with salmon in it. Taste was good. Friendly staff. A real busy place at 10 am on a Sunday

Google
I was sitting behind the brewing area and unluckily witnessed some bad practices. Not only they recycled milk (which didn’t surprise me after travelling in Germany for 6 weeks), they recycle espresso shots too - they used half a shot for a cappuccino and then used the remaining half for another cappuccino after it sat there for more than 5 mins. Naturally my flat white was very average.

Google
This is such a cute coffee shop! I love specially coffees, and it was so nice to find this place on a rainy day. I got the Colombia geisha, and really enjoyed it. The barista was very friendly, and the vibe was warm.

Yelp
Lovely spot not too far from the Cathedral. A place in Germany that actually sells good filter coffee! It seems the beans are purchased from other roasters across Europe. The staff speak excellent English (most of their signs are in English anyway). Note, that on weekends they go laptop/tablet free. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I ordered a cortado and flat white. Both were amazing coffee drinks. I would come back again and again.

Yelp
Stopped for a much needed cold brew. Delightfully delicious. Cold Brews in Germany come in a mini format but are definitely not lacking in flavor with a twist of citrus.

Yelp
Best Latte/Cappuccino I've had in Europe. Thank god for you guys. Perfect milk texture/ micro foam and taste of espresso. And top notch Latte art. I will be coming here every day while I'm in Frankfurt. Great atmosphere as well and friendly staff.

Yelp
Positioned in an area exposed to lots of foot traffic, but largely local in its clientele, The Holy Cross Brewing Society looks a lot like what one might see in Brooklyn or Portland, right down to the kitschy signage and swag, not to mention good Beans sourced from a variety of Roasters. Open since 2016, and a gathering spot for hipsters from that day forth, it is on approach that guests will notice plumes of smoke arising from the mouths of outdoor smokers, the inside far more pleasant from scent to staff including Baristas who speak fluent English and are happy to give recommendations based on both theirs and patron's preferences. Offering both hot and cold Coffee along with baked goods, the later prone to daily variance but always featuring the now-famous Portuguese Egg Custard, it was in exchange for 11€ that Cold Brew perfumed by Orange was poured to pair with four Pastries, the Pastel de Nata living up to the rumors with a crackling shell surrounding wobbly and warm Custard. Less thrilled with a Double Chocolate Chip Cookie, the Cocoa Powder drying out Dough that fared better without in the setting of toasted Walnuts, it was those same Nuts that added texture to Banana Bread that was moist and only somewhat sweet, instead allowing Cardamom and Cloves to perfume the palate with a more natural Fruit flavor on the tongue.

Yelp
Hipster vibes galore! This place makes you want to bust out your laptop and linger for awhile. The clientele is very hipster-ish - think people with ironically large glasses sifting through an dusty old paperback of Catcher in the Rye. If that's your scene, holy cross is the place to go. The location is perfect for grabbing a coffee before heading to the museum embankment because it's located right by the river. On warmer sunny days, they have outdoor seating to enjoy the atmosphere. The coffee was 4.50 euro, but quite tasty and made using special beans from Kenya. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Coffee was one of my two main beverages to hunt for during my trip to Germany. As you would expect, this place definitely catches your eye as a place to get coffee from. Unfortunately, when we had stopped by-- which is around 14:00ish on a Thursday afternoon, they had run out of cold brew coffee... I ordered filter coffee, but their filter coffee comes mixed with other things as well-- so it was less black and more tealike. I still liked it, it was okay. The service here is great, I think the staff is very friendly.

Yelp
Cool, comfortable coffee shops with a welcoming owner that are off the beaten path and have a great neighborhood vibe are an oasis to an out of town visitor looking for just the right place to take a breather. That was my experience at The Holy Cross Brewing Co. Find it nearby to the MMK in Frankfurt.

Yelp
I was very excited to come here as one of the first third wave coffee shops in Germany. However, once I got to the shop, I was a bit less excited. It's not that anything was terrible, but I suppose I expected more. The service was strange. At times it seemed that the baristas were afraid of us. The coffee was good. Not the best coffee I've ever had, but definitely the best coffee I've ever had in Germany. I also ordered a porridge which sounded delicious on the menu, but was mostly flavorless and cold. The atmosphere seemed pretty relaxed, obviously lots of hipsters around. Seems like a cool place to hang out and have a good coffee. But I wouldn't order anything else.

Yelp
Beautifully designed coffee place and nice service. Good selection of sweets, pasteis de nata was awesome. Coffee comes from the Barn, nevertheless was prepared too hot (had a flat white). Should go back and check other coffees.

Yelp
Very chill spot and good location. Now for the negatives: Very overpriced for the items in comparison to where you can go elsewhere in Frankfurt. On a quiet Sunday morning in the half empty shop, we were rudely told that no computers were allowed on the weekend...really?? Thanks, but no thanks.

Yelp
Calling all hipsters, if you could please congregate here!!??? Joking aside this place is the epitome of the current style/trend of cool/hipster coffee shops and it would literally fit in anywhere in the world. These guys also know there coffee to fair though and that's what counts. I had a lovely flat white made with beans from the super famous Barn roasters in Berlin. The style is as you would expect. Exposed brickwork and with an industrial feel, there is a spirit coffee machine, several mazzer grinders giving various bean choices, various bits of filter equipment strategically positioned, home made looking cakes and of course the prerequisite a bearded barista. This place would fit in in most cities in the world, you could imagine it not looking out of place from Tokyo to Copenhagen. If your looking for a modern coffee shop to provide a top end and current coffee experience this is the place to go.

Yelp
This place was a delightful find for a wonderful coffee in a hip, non-touristy but centrally-located environment. After wandering the main squares of Frankfurt and being a bit dubious of the highly-touristy restaurants and cafes lining the avenues, I strolled a bit past the main attractions and into the charming street that Holy Cross occupies. There are lots of little galleries and nice-looking cafes serving more interesting and fresh food than your typical frites and frankfurter that all the other joints serve. This is a great place to wander around, poke into some little galleries, and get a breath of air away from the bustle. Really tasty cold-brew coffee served with a genuine smile and a big hunk of ice. This looked more like a glass of fine bourbon than coffee, but man it was delicious! I really enjoyed this in the bright sunshine of the early afternoon. I stayed here for well over an hour while getting some work done on my laptop. The outdoor biergarten-esque tables were an easy place to slide in and hammer out some work. Definitely worth a stop in! I would go here all the time if I lived in the area!

Yelp
Don't come to this cafe if you except to work on your computer during the weekend or enjoy a good cup of coffee, the staff are very strict in not allowing any computers out or on the table. I travel extensively and this is the only cafe in the world that prohibits their customers the right to use their laptops within their facility. The coffee as well is roasted to the point of being burn to a crisp, there are plenty of other third wave cafes in Frankfurt that are worth visiting! Safe your time and your money by not coming here.

Yelp
The best cortado I've ever had and probably ever will have! Absolutely delicious coffee, nice service and modern charme. A must try for coffee lovers and a lovely place for working or hanging out with friends!

Yelp
Holy Cross Brewing Society is now offering another dairy option as opposed to the rice milk one they did offer. This is great news for patrons like myself! They are also offering some killer beans sourced from Nordic powerhouses... I plan to head back there tomorrow and get my hands on some of this amazing coffee!

Yelp
Ordered an ice latte and it was pretty good. Came with blended ice and the coffee was nice, not too strong.

Yelp
Very good coffee and drinks. Service also good but no laptops and iPads allowed on the weekends. Sorry guys, it's a big minus!

Yelp
You know those cool coffee hotspots in Amsterdam? Now we have it finally also here in Frankfurt. I like the friendly atmosphere, pretty interior, yummy cappuccino and cakes, and it is very instagram photogenic, if you know what I mean ;)!

Yelp
Nice little cafe with good coffee & pastries. I was glad to find this little gem as it was difficult to find anything else open on a Friday morning. I had a delicious pastry but was still hungry, so I ordered a bowl of bio-porridge. This definitely hit the spot. Delicious, filling and organic! I'll definitely be back to visit this place during my stay.

Yelp
Very good coffee with a cozy ambience and friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone who is a fan of good coffee.

Yelp
The place is nice - however beware of a very rude staff (they will come and unplug your computer, coz guess what they don't want your computer while working - yes you thought this shit had stopped in 1945), even though you have ordered food. They claim that they want people to talk and not work on their computer - well I saw everyone on their phones anyways. Plus they have closed all electric sockets so guess what can't charge phones or laptops - they want a new wave cafe with an old school cafe mindset. So avoid if you want to go to a cafe and work. And the food is average

Yelp
Close to river great coffee and cafe food. Friendly and relaxed. Not expensive. Museum of modern art up the road.

Yelp
NIce atmosphere and friendly staff and some really nice asparagus quiche at the moment. worth the visit!

Yelp
We spent over 15 euros here and we were about to order lunch on top of this, when the aggressive, rude owner (I assume) walked up to our table and loudly berated us in front of other patrons for "using his power" (laptop) and "siting too long" (about two hours). The cafe was NOT busy and we were paying well for our use of the table and would have spent more. Nowhere in the world have I ever been treated so rudely at a cafe. Avoid this hipster hell like the plague.

Yelp
Great coffee, super hip, place to be seen - a bit limited on cake options. We had the peanut butter cheesecake pie - no complaints! Will be back.

Yelp
Great place to sit and relax. My wife and I brought our two big backpacks in here and worked on our laptops for awhile. They were very understanding and friendly with everything. Their coffee is also great!

Lucia K.

Yelp
Fantastic - totally reminds me of Williamsburg or SFO. Fabulous coffee, great atmosphere, cool design, super friendly service. I'll be a regular for sure.
