Avoid this location, especially if you want to have flooring work done. Avoid them, and you will avoid weeks of waiting, chasing after managers, and ultimately avoid a grand waste of time.
My family and I have been Home Depot (HD) patrons for years; but after the last few experiences here, we are unsure, and certainly will not be using this location. We have friends who feel the same way.
They were once told by staff they were "out of ladders." Seriously?
Another time, when trying to tell staff that they weren't charged for an item and had retuned to rightfully pay for it, the staff was not grateful and instead made vague accusations that they had somehow confiscated the product, and were perhaps 'hiding' more. They no longer shop there.
We, on the other hand, had a drawn-out flooring fiasco.
We wanted to replace our carpet upstairs with laminate, and called them, the supposed "home experts."
HD sent someone out to measure our floors. He made no mention about the level of the floor, nor if there was water damage. Just came in, took measurements, and left.
We then ordered the materials through HD that the contractors would need.
For the next 5 weeks, we struggled to get all of the items. An order would come, but only half the products we paid for were there. My husband and I called and left over 7 voice messages, attempting to get this straightened out, and were called back only 2 of those times. When we finally received all of our products, we saw on a packing slip that HD had received some of the items a week after we placed the order whereas they took over a moth to get it to us so we could move forward with installation (a project which we had already fully paid for in full!) I called another manager, and he said the poor experience was largely due to COVID, but that I could call back tomorrow to talk about making this process easier. He wasn't there the next day. This happened 2 more times --we would finally reach someone who knew what this order was, then were instructed to call back the next day, then we would never hear from them.
When we were finally able to have the contractors come for installation, within 15 minutes they noted that our floor was too crooked and that there was water damage to our subfloor, so they wouldn't recommend any hard flooring. They couldn't move forward with the project and left. So, after a total of 5 weeks of struggling to get a hold of anyone at HD, having incomplete piles of supplies in our living room, and over $5000 later, we learn we can't replace our floors --we've just wasted a month and a half of time, and lots of money. Why didn't the first person from HD notice the damaged floors? We expect them to be 'home experts'. Why didn't he tell us that we might want to check our sub floors? We would have readily paid HD for additional services to help with this process, too, giving them more money if we'd been made aware. All of this could have been prevented. And, why didn't any manager we spoke to care that we were dissatisfied and clearly not getting the services we'd paid for? Now, we did get a full refund, but we were also left with a bad taste in our mouths.
The experience has led us to go to Lowe's now. Good luck, reader on your own home projects, and avoid this location if you're interested in replacing your floors.
