The Hope Mezestaurant Το Ρακαδικο του Καμαρη

Perched on a hill with parking just a minute's walk away, this charming restaurant offers seating on a wooden balcony with breathtaking sea views. It has a cozy, family-run feel. The food is delicious and generously portioned, and the French fries were the best we've had in Crete. The staff is incredibly kind, even offering us a front-row sea view seat after we had already finished our meal.

Faultless from start to finish! I initially enquired for a booking, and asked for a specific dish (Pastitsio) which just so happened to be a special on the day we were booking for (Sunday). A very warm welcome as we arrived, entered into a cosy room with open kitchen, then led onto the balcony overlooking Elounda - wonderful setting. We ordered a few dishes - Pastitsio, Apaki Grilled, Homemade sausage (another special), Kamaris meatballs, Grandma's Potatoes & Salad and everything was delicious. If we had larger stomachs we would have ordered even more! Service was fantastic, a real family feel, very welcoming, friendly service and conversations. This is an absolute must if visiting Elounda - we may revisit over the next day or two! Thank you for a great experience.

Wow oh wow,homemade sausage and nans potatoes were to die for,this little place is a must for anyone seeking home cooked Greek food,no nuggets or pizza here,food service and atmosphere is exceptional,Dimitri's and Amalia are also exceptional with the service they provide,this is a small Taverna and booking is recommended,see you next year guys❤️❤️❤️

The Hope is a hidden gem with great food and an unbeatable view. Among the dishes we enjoyed was the grilled Halloumi which was by far the best we’ve ever had. Urska was friendly and attentive making our experience even more enjoyable.

A fantastic place - go if you’re anywhere near. Amazing view, lovely people, brilliant, authentic food make with the best local ingredients.

The view is quite something! Friendly staff (as always on Crete). The portions are more normal sizes so you walk away from there while other places you roll away from :D good and different options from the rest.

A wonderful discovery up above the village with amazing view in this small place serving traditional cuisine made in house by the family. The local dishes are excellent, the service kind and smiley and prices are fair! NB: road up is a little narrow…..dedicated parking was easy (end of May)

Following a gentle climb up to this lovely viewing point, we enjoyed a really good meal, both having pastichio. Our table overlooked the balcony, which had a wonderful view. The owner and waitress are excellent hosts.
