I had an excellent experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the room was in perfect condition. The bathroom and shower were spotless. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add a ventilation system, as the rooms can develop a slight odor after being closed for long periods. However, this is easily resolved by opening the window for a short while.

Hostel De Blauwput is a convenient and friendly place to stay, especially if you’re traveling by train as it’s right next to the station and within easy walking distance to the city center and Kessel-Lo park(really cool park to take the kids). The cute inner courtyards were fun to relax and chill and they serve great breakfast buffets. Rooms were clean and decent-sized, with one being surprisingly spacious. That said, it’s still very much a hostel, beds and pillows aren’t the comfiest, you have to make your own bed, and there were unfortunately no proper towels available during our stay. The lack of AC or fans made hot nights quite uncomfortable, especially in the room where they couldn’t open the window fully. Overall, great location and good vibes, but be ready for some hostel-level trade-offs.

I stayed here for 2 days and had an amazing experience. The hostel is neat and clean, with spacious and well-lit rooms. Although the 3 PM check-in time was a bit inconvenient, they offer a luggage storage room which made it manageable. Lockers are available free of charge with a security deposit, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The included breakfast was good, though it would be nice to have the option to opt out. The location is fantastic, just a 2-minute walk from Leuven station. Overall, a great stay—highly recommended!

I stayed the night during a cycling holiday and was impressed by the modern, clean and warm facilities. My bike had its own secure storage and the breakfast buffet was plentiful. There was a school party staying when I was there so I avoided the times they had breakfast and was able to be on the cycle path again before 9am. Very conveniently located near Leuven railway station.

Perfectly located hostel. 2 minutes walk from the train station (walk towards platform 9 - back exit) you'll see a Delhaize supermarket on your left (open til 1930) and the hostel is another 50m up a tiny hill. The flixbus terminal is about 300m away. I stayed a few days in their 3 and 4 bed dorms (spacious and comfortable). As well as in their double room - which is excellent value for 2 people! Very nice bar and play room as well as a more peaceful lounge. Perfect for meeting people. On the weekend, the breakfast includes eggs and is served until 10am. Otherwise, until 0930.

We made a bicycle trip (grandfather, grandchildren). De Blauwput was exactly what we needed. It was not our first stay at Blauwput (so we were very satisfied before).

The lady was nice and friendly at the reception. The facility was big but not super clean in the room. There was underwear on the table left by someone there. I enjoyed the tea however the rest of the breakfast was below average compared to other youth hostels in the same chain. Having some eggs would be nice.

This hostel meets the basic expectations of most affordable stays in Europe. However there were a large group of us in town for a conference, and the manager gave us only two keys per room. Each room had 4-6 people, and it was incredibly difficult to coordinate the habits of all us strangers staying in a single room. We asked for more keys, but the management told us they were "too expensive" to make. Would not recommend for this reason.
