I fucking loved this place. I feel like my eyes were opened to luxury hotels and I can never go back...
The rooms are on the smaller side, but very functional. My absolute favorite part of the room was the panel of buttons next to each side of the bed that allowed you to control every single light in the room, including the privacy shades. Speaking of the privacy shades, they are crazy effective. My boyfriend forgot to set his alarm for work the next morning and was very perplexed when I told him it was 7:30AM despite it being pitch black in the room!!
There is not very much privacy in the bathrooms for the standard/corner rooms, so I would hesitate about booking one of those if I wasn't coming alone or with a significant other. The minibar is free, but in our room that only meant 1 coke, 2 bottled waters, 1 Stella, and a carbonated lemon beverage. They refilled it 3/4 of our days here.
The gym is on one of the top floors and has an amazing view of the city. There are 8-10 exercise machines and a few weight machines. There are complimentary fruits and beverages (water and iced tea) in the gym, and I was usually the only one working out while I was there. I also felt really relaxed after indulging in a facial at the spa next door.
We didn't eat at the restaurant, but did order room service once and weren't very impressed with the chicken wings. Thankfully this hotel is very centrally located so it's easy to walk to great restaurants near the Grand Place or Rue du Sablon. The front desk staff was helpful and efficient, and the Wifi was very reliable & fast.
Most diplomats stay here when they are in town (including Obama!), so there is often a heavy police presence. If you've got room in your budget to stay at The Hotel while visiting Brussels, I highly recommend it!
