We stayed at Ramada by Wyndham in Cairns for 5 nights. We arrived around 11.30pm and check in was quick, the staff member was polite. From the very first look at our place of accommodation it was apparent that renovations are in place. |Our room was clean and well appointed and we were fortunate enough to have an upgrade to one of the updated rooms. The bathroom was very spacious and the beds were clean and comfortable. The mini fridge had a see through door, which proved to be a little problematic as the interior fridge light shone in my eyes whilst trying to sleep.|Our days were very busy and not much time was spent in the room. It was nice to come back at the end of each day to recoup in pleasant surroundings. Ground floor room, overlooking car park which sometimes had heavy equipment parked outside the room. |The pool should be great for guests when it is finally completed. There is alot of work to be done at the Ramada by Wyndham in Cairns. I may return one day to check it all out.|We asked for a late checkout and were lucky to be given an extra hour and we checked out at 11am. We were able to leave our luggage for a couple of hours.|Our check out with Sarah took no time.|Sarah is lovely and such a friendly person. A real asset to the Ramada by Wyndham

Unfortunately the pool was going through some maintenance and we were not able to use it, but the location was 10/10. So close to the esplanade and to all the amenities that Cairns has to offer. The room was okay, basic but it was clean and nice to come back to after a full day exploring we had a family room with access to the terrace which was pretty nice and good for the kids to play in.

I was hugely disappointed b my stay here having stayed at other hotels in the chain. My room was in need of a refresh and an update. The swimming pool was closed and was being worked on so every Morning we were woken at 0600 by the skips lorry replacing them. Our window shutters didn't quite close properly so there was some light in my room. The only positive was the receptionist called Sarah who was brilliant. The breakfast was OK but the staff there were disinterested.

Worst hotel experience I’ve had for while. Booking for wrong, bedding was wrong. Not accessible as stated on original booking. When moved to accessible room it was clearly an after thought that was built into an existing storage area completely with smells and a bed folding out of the wall. When you can get the Hilton for $20 more this place is a joke.

Hotel was dated and in urgent need of renovation. No pool access, it was a building site. Breakfast was located in a Chinese restaurant and was awful. The restaurant was filthy, struggled to find a clean table to sit at. Didn't go there the next day and went out for breakfast. Must be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Avoid at all costs!

This was honestly one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. The walls in the room are paper thin — I could hear every conversation, TV show, and door slam from the rooms around me. To make matters worse, I found cockroaches (dead ones!) on the floor, which immediately made me question how clean the place actually is. The bathroom is old, rundown, and feels like it hasn’t been properly updated in decades. On top of all that, construction right outside the window kicked off at 7am sharp, so forget about sleeping in or even having a peaceful morning. Between the noise, the lack of cleanliness, and the general state of disrepair, this hotel is absolutely not worth the money. I would not stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

This place is not only extremely out dated it’s dirty. Bundle of hair on the floor. Cockroaches. Bed like concrete. Grout in the tiles can’t explain how black from dirt were in there. Ceiling fan couldn’t use from the loud squeezing noise. Aircon sounded like it was taking off. Place needs a major renovation. I would not recommend here nor will I stay here again. Disappointed Wyndham has their name attached.

Yelp
We booked our room at this hotel based on good reviews. The rooms were a good size and were clean. The hotel was really quiet! The wifi was very spotty. It worked best near the lobby. The pool was small but nice. Good price, only $70 for the one night that we stayed. This hotel is located close to the Esplanade so there is plenty to do within walking distance. The hotel is also only a 10 minute ride from the airport.

Yelp
I would not recommend staying here, unless you're ok with having bugs crawl all over your stuff and being called a liar when management is confronted about it. First of all, there are bugs. EVERYWHERE. When the front desk was confronted about this by us, their answer was to say, "Well this is a tropical area." And they gave us a can of bug spray so that we could spray ourselves. We sprayed and then asked someone to be sent up to spray properly. Apparently this request was either completely ignored or just done by the front desk person because they didn't bother to put any notes or tell management that we were having this issue. Finally on our 2nd to last day in Australia, I woke up and found a HUGE bug crawling on my phone, so we were fed up, we checked out of there and checked into the Double Tree right across the street. Oddly enough, they didn't have a bug problem. Since we ended up checking out a day early, we requested to have that night refunded, we had to go through Expedia to do this and that poor person had to deal with the management from the hotel. He was rude, dismissive and accused us of lying. He said there were no notes of us having any issues so if we chose to check out early that was our problem and he assumed we didn't need that money. It was only about $75, so that wasn't a huge deal, what was an issue for me is the huge lack of customer service in this place and their complete dismissal of any problems on their part. I regret giving them any of our money, especially after having bugs crawl all over the room and being called a liar about it. Unless you don't mind potentially having to deal with all of this I would say just stay at the DoubleTree right across the street.
