My partner and I stayed here for two nights, while the rooms are fabulous we did come across some confusion when dealing with bar staff. We ordered two drinks during the so-called Happy Hour ordering a middy of beer and a wine, cost $24, which I assumed should have been $14 together (as Happy Hour on the website advertises beers at $6 and wines at $8), but does not clearly advertise WHAT beers and wines they are; it was only once bar staff rang up the bill did I discover the total was $24, when I was prepared to pay $14 (as per happy hour advertising). It was only after I complained to the manager behind the bar about this, did he refer to a small piece of paper stuck on their laptop (not readily displayed or advertised) that only bar staff can see, so how do customers know what wine/beer is discounted during happy hour? In my view, this constitutes false advertising and is inconsistent with the hotels Happy Hour advertising… From a patrons viewpoint, this establishment does need to clearly show/display/advertise what beers are $6 and which wines are $8 during happy hour otherwise patrons are charged full price instead which ends up making it an Unhappy Hour, which defeats the whole purpose…
