Positive: The staff were amazing. The sent a text to check in and see how the room was and I was able to use that number to communicate with them as needed. There was a dog barking down the hall and they were able to contact the owner and rectify this very quickly Negative: ""

Absolutely abysmal service at every level. At check in they charged my cc $1400, $200 more than my booked total price; they explained this was to cover any potential incidentals. This of course is absurd: I’ve never had a Hotel charge me the full amount of the booking at check-in rather than at check out, particularly as I booked thru booking.com and payment is guaranteed by them through my credit card. second, the TV in the room didn’t work and they had nobody on hand to deal with it. Nobody! Third, we went into the restaurant for happy hour and ordered oysters. After 30 minutes (the place was empty) we had to order them again. The WiFi log in is ridiculously cumbersome: you fill out a form, they send you an email, you have to confirm via the email, etc., and of course you have to do this on every device. And lastly, they bombard you with unnecessary text messages endlessly.

Best hotel experience I have ever had - and I go there every single year at Christmas and they never disappoint. Strongly, strongly recommend.

Google
TV didn’t work. Front desk lied for an hour, continually telling us that engineering was on the way before finally admitting that there was nobody on staff from engineering at all an hour later the manager came on duty and did what they should’ve done immediately, gave us a new room. The AC in that room was so loud-it sounded like an airplane, taking it off every time it switched on and off, that we got no sleep at all. They moved us again. The air conditioning was marginally better but still extremely loud. One of the guys at the front desk told us that every single room in the hotel had the same problem. This dump doesn’t have central air-conditioning, but just wall mounted behemoths.

Beautiful property. Service is great, location is great and everything went smoothly. Will definitely stay there again for return visits to the area! Can walk to everything you need!

Avoid this hotel, especially if you have a late check-in. I recently had a nightmare experience at this hotel that I feel compelled to share, particularly for those planning to check in late. The management is incredibly greedy, selling the same rooms twice and then kicking guests out in the middle of the night, even if they have a child with them. This was exactly what happened to me and my child. We arrived in the city for the North America Cubing competition, an event my child had been looking forward to for months. Upon arrival at the hotel, the front desk clerk seemed to realize his mistake immediately. He put his hand on his head and said, “Oh, no,” as soon as we walked into the lobby. He was absolutely helpless and could only offer a hollow apology. It was clear he had knowingly given our room to someone else. My child, who had a crucial competition the next morning, ended up going to bed at 3:40 am and had to wake up at 7 am to be on time. The hotel’s careless decision and the hours we spent in the lobby, trying to sort things out, severely impacted his preparation and rest. Finding a new reservation at midnight was impossible since booking systems don’t allow you to choose a date that has just passed. We were left in a state of panic and frustration, calling different hotels ourselves while the front desk clerk did nothing helpful. After much insistence and repeated requests to speak to management, he finally involved a manager. She managed to find us another hotel and agreed to cover our taxi expenses. While this was a relief, they haven’t covered the full amount yet. She promised we can communicate on Monday , July 22 to resolve the issue, and I sincerely hope we can settle the matter without needing to involve an attorney. This experience was beyond frustrating. The lack of accountability and empathy from the hotel staff was astonishing. The stress and inconvenience caused were unacceptable, especially considering we were there for an important event for our child. In short, avoid this hotel at all costs. The management’s greed and the front desk’s incompetence can ruin your plans and leave you stranded. I hope this review helps others avoid the terrible experience we endured.

Google
Booked this hotel as we are in area for wedding this weekend. It is not on the lake. There is a “lake-ified” strip shopping center opposite and then a freight rail train line and then the lake which is not visible The king room that’s supposed to have a lake view has a sliver way off to one side. The delivery trucks for hotel restaurant and other deliveries are constantly parked in front of main entrance making all sorts of beeping noises. The total for two nights for a basic king is almost $1500 and the room is at best like standard Marriott or Hyatt. It sure what the allure is but feeling “taken.” Buyer beware

Google
The hotel is nice enough, but something is off. Our junior suite looked like a Scandinavian -style residence Inn suite—not really special though the per night price was quite high. The bed was too soft The parking garage is confusing. Water in the room is $5. We tried having breakfast downstairs and after a long wait for the hostess to show up (who was making a latte for someone) we were told we had to have a reservation in spite of empty tables. (We had a great breakfast at Maggie’s family restaurant just up Lake Ave). I travel a lot for pleasure and business and know good properties. I would not choose to stay here again

Yelp
Oh wow! What a hotel! I'm from Los Angeles and this hotel far exceeded my expectation's. Upon check in I was greeted by Jhonathan who immediately made me feel right at home. Thru out my entire 5 day stay, Jhonathan did everything possible to give me the greatest experience possible. Such a fantastic place. I would 100% recommend this hotel. California-APPROVED!

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at the hotel landing. Clean rooms beautiful view and delicious food. Johnathan at the front desk was so nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Booked this hotel for a local staycation for valentines weekend. Definitely not our normal scene as IMO it's very uppity so we didn't really fit in but that's fine. The hotel was pretty and seemed newer. Parking and elevator situation was behind confusing but finally figured it out LOL. The interior and decor is updated and modern. The views are not great at all. At least from our room which was disappointing. Lots of restaurants and places you could walk to. Now, the walls are paper thin. We had room that had combined doors (we didn't know the people next to us) but OMG they were so loud. They must have been getting ready for a wedding or something or having a dance party aka rearranging furniture in their room. It woke us up and was very annoying. Then the people above us were stomping all around the whole night. What are you doing up there? Needless to say we didn't get much sleep which was disappointing as it was suppose to be a relaxing weekend away. I would probably not stay here again as it seems like it's a hotel for groups/wedding etc where everyone is partying and not caring about anyone else. Beautiful hotel but unfriendly workers and noisy hotel.

Yelp
Loved this boutique hotel! My company hosted a training event for our customers here recently and the layout for the conference room is stunning. Interior design is impeccable and space is very open and roomy. Catered meals for breakfast and lunch were very good, too! Not your typical hotel food. Hotel room was gorgeous and interior design again was well done. Easy walking distance to nearby restaurants and Lake Minnetonka. Room service for breakfast was affordable and service was speedy. Complimentary bottled water in the room (chilled drawer) was a nice touch. Bedding was very comfortable and soft. On the top floor, nice views of nearby restaurants and peek of Lake Minnetonka. Definitely would recommend this hotel and Wayzata for a getaway. Beautiful area and weather was perfect (late September). Lastly, greeter outside had excellent customer service. He always opened the car door for me when leaving or returning to the hotel. I was not expecting, but it was much appreciated. He also helped with my luggage into my Lyft ride to the airport. Thank you sir with the bow tie!

Yelp
Let me start by admitting I'm high maintenance and very particular. The Charm, Food, Service and Location of this Hotel were Excellent. The Manager and Staff were accommodating, kind and went above and beyond to make sure I had the very best experience. Every Summer and Christmas I stay here because this place has a perfect vibe. It's even romantic. We took their complimentary Beach Cruisers out for a bike ride and found the most amazing private lake. It was like something out of a fairytale. This place is a must. Enjoy!

Yelp
We had a super stay at this hotel. The room was spaciious, clean and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable and the hotel so quiet we had very restful nights. Loved the double-head shower. Didn't visit the restaurant or use the ammenities as the hotel is so close to everyting Wayzata has to offer. Free parking in their garage was a bonus. We would definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

Yelp
Went for a wedding, staff was rude to bride and groom, cops showed up to the dance floor without warning, a glass of wine was 14 dollars (the venue didn't tell the bride or groom this beforehand and overall, this place was extremely underwhelming and poorly managed

Mike C.

Yelp
Grogeous hotel in a beautiful town! You are walking distance to some great shops, eateries, and breweries. In addition, the hotel has bicycles available for you to use. I took one and road the Dakota Trail with breathtaking views and great scenery especially in the Fall. The rooms are comfortably modern with a soft and cozy bed. Spacious gym and courteous staff, a very positive experience and happy stay!

Suzy G.

Yelp
Our water was cold and made showering uncomfortable at best. it Just was NOT a comfortable or recommended place. Not as nice as cheaper hotels, not even close.

Rob R.

Yelp
Very nice, modern hotel across the street from the lake - no good views though. The gas log fireplace being lit when it's 90+ outside is still bewildering - such a waste of energy. Wifi was actually fast in my room, but my work vpn wouldn't connect successfully. Luckily, there was a strong Verizon signal or I would have been stuck at the Starbucks. Room service was quick and efficient.

Beth s.

Yelp
Great location. Hotel staff is friendly. Rooms are nice. Only reason for the 3 stars is that there are fans in the bathrooms that are super loud and can't be turned off. Bring your noise canceling ear phones if you're a light sleeper.

Lauren W.

Yelp
We stayed here for the weekend we also hosted a post-COVID wedding reception and had a wonderful experience every step of the way. The check-in staff was so friendly and nice (and gave us some drink tickets). We stayed in a suite and it was SO relaxing and comfortable and clean. Nice morning light, which may or may not be your thing, but we could've closed the curtains to keep it dark if we wanted to. The staff at the bar was fabulous, professional, and friendly, if a bit understaffed (between COVID, the unemployment crisis, and the 3 events they were hosting that weekend, this is perfectly understandable). Bonus: We saw several NFL players AND Coach PJ Fleck when we were in the bar. The staff that covered our reception couldn't have been better. Helped us set up some of our decorations and very quickly helped find the right equipment to help me connect my phone to their sound system for music. Extra special shoutout to the bartender for the event, VICTOR! He was kind, calm, quick, quick-witted, remembered everyone's order, made sure I (as the "bride") was never without a beverage, and even came to track me down to ask me if my husband was going to want one more at last call when he couldn't find him directly. Just amazing people working here. It's also right in the heart of Wayzata so all the restaurants and things you'd want to check out are walking distance. The only weird bit is the parking/elevator/floor setup (negative floors? seems like I only ever see that in MN).

Yelp
We had a reservation for a nice Valentines day. My wife was sick and they wouldn't let us postpone or get a refund so we had to pay for a room we never stayed in. Very disappointed.

Yelp
I live locally and was looking to spoil myself with a mini staycation. My first evening was fine. The hotel is very clean and the staff was friendly, but they weren't overly helpful. I had to ask about how to log into the wifi, where the elevator was, and what the room service hours were. The room was nice, and again, clean. Room service was quick and friendly, but the food was just OK. Not terrible, but not wonderful either. At some point in the night, the AC stopped working, but the temperature remained reasonable. I had ordered breakfast to be delivered by 7:30 so I could make a 9 o'clock appointment, but by 8, my food still hadn't arrived. I called room service, but no one answered, so I called the front desk. They weren't sure what the problem was, but they went to the kitchen to find out. They called me back saying that the kitchen didn't open until 8, but my order was being rushed. 1: how did the front desk staff not know that the kitchen didn't open until 8, and 2: if the kitchen didn't open until 8, then why was a 7:30 delivery even an option? My food arrived just in time for me to grab the toast and run to my appointment. I returned that afternoon to find the AC still not working, so I called the front desk. A couple of hours later, a maintenance worker arrived and decided that the AC was broken beyond his ability to repair it. He notified the front desk. They called me to say that they had no other rooms available, but they could either comp my room or possibly move me to their sister location in Bloomington. It took the staff over 2 hours to email with management about what to do, at which point I just gave up, checked out, and went home. A week or so later, I got a survey from the hotel, and a couple of weeks after filling it out, someone from management emailed me asking me to call them. I called a few times, but always had to leave a message, and she never reached out again. I might have given them a second shot, but management clearly doesn't care that I literally have better experience at Holiday Inns.

Steve S.

Yelp
Very nice and attractive hotel with cool bar/restaurant area. But beware of the extremely loud room AC units. Nobody should have a system like this these days. Very hard to sleep.

Karla L.

Yelp
This place is very nice! 1st time here and will be back. They offered a discount for people running in the Lake Minnetonka 1/2 Marathon and we are happy that we stayed here! The gentleman at the front desk was super nice and very informative. They offer free breakfast and a "on the go" bag for runners in the am. Also free wine and beer at night! The place is super clean and trendy. Has coffee in room and great beds! Very happy with our decision!

Yelp
Update: Finally heard from the hotel, and the reply was very sad and sums up the experience of horrible customer service. My husband did an appearance/interview at the hotel about his experience as an NFL player for a different organization and was given a $1,000 gift card as a thank you and we won't even bother using it, that's how bad the whole interaction from start to finish was with this hotel. Do not waste your time. Very disappointing all around. I booked one of the suites for two nights. Upon arriving to my room, there were dead bugs covering the bathroom counter. It was disgusting but I also understand hotels have been slow and likely short staffed, so as I was leaving for dinner I stopped by the front desk to ask them to clean while I was out. Upon arriving back, they cleaned but had missed several dead bugs and the soap tray still had bugs all over it. I cleaned the rest myself and went to sleep. That night, I woke up around 1am sweating..the AC broke. It was hot and making a loud clicking. I tried noise cancelling headphones for an hour and still couldn't sleep through it. I called the front desk and they moved me to a basic room next door because they had no one there to fix it. This was my wedding night so it was stressful to be up all those hours and moving around rooms. The next day, I asked them to fix the issue or move us to a new suite as I was getting married that day and my husband and I were staying there the night of our wedding and wanted to make sure that same thing would not happen again. They said it would be fixed. The second night, on our wedding night, around 4am the clicking came back and room got super hot - we were both up for the rest of the morning. When we checked out, the front desk didn't ask how our stay was, they didn't check in on the AC issue, they didn't even ask if everything was ok the second night. I was beyond unimpressed with the women working at the desk (the guy working the first night was sweet and helpful by doing his best and getting me into a new room and being helpful in the middle of the night). I would not recommend this hotel at all and am super disappointed with my stay. I felt like we tried to be understanding with all the things and give them a chance to fix each thing but at a certain point we were trying harder than their own staff and you realize it's just poorly run. It's not worth the risk staying here, especially if it's something special. The worst part of all of this was how our black friends and family were treated by this hotel and their staff. When our black family and friends walked into the lobby, they were questioned, told they could not be there, asked why they were there and where they were going. One had to call me and I had to go down, in horror, to tell them they were a guest of mine. I emailed with the GM about this and her reply was "I am part of our company's Committee on Diversity and we are currently undergoing a training program for all our associates called " Unconscious Bias"; I am confident this will help get underneath the treatment issues you encountered" - so they are AWARE of this treatment and know it's an issue, yet instead of getting rid of these people they are hoping to "get underneath" this treatment. I would never go back here nor would I want any of my friends or family who are black to go here and be treated the way they were treated. My white family members were not questioned to this extent and had no issues coming right up to the room! I am devastated and beyond sad.

Moe M.

Yelp
It was a nice hotel, a little pricey for the area however centrally located near a lot of shopping and the lake. Also the hotel was fairly modern and had some great amenities in the room. The parking price was a little ridiculous because there's no other real option. But overall great experience the staff was very friendly.

Davis F.

Yelp
The A/C was broken in one of our rooms and our sons slept in a very warm room. They were moved to a new room the next day. For this inconvenience and imposition we were offered a 15% discount off of that room night cost of $420. And this was offered only after nearly a week and two messages left with the manager- a less than admirable commitment to customer service and satisfaction.

Lorna Beth H.

Yelp
Nice but overpriced. Good location. Don't waste your money on the breakfast package. Did not realize how restrictive it was (they won't even sub greens for hashbrowns) so it feels like you're overpaying for a very cheap breakfast when there are a ton of nice restaurants right down the block. For $400-500/night you'd expect the bed/breakfast option not to feel like perkins food.

Ali H.

Yelp
Be very careful making reservations here. They pulled ours due to corporate buying up all the rooms, after we were told twice face to face with confirmation it was secured. It's not a public hotel....it's corporate. Too bad. This area really needs hotels. What a let down.

Amin R.

Yelp
Nice clean spot! Close to public docks and good restaurants! Free parking was a plus ! Dog friendly but it was a rip off . 75 EXTRA FOR A PET WHEN THE ROOM WAS ONLY 144.00 a night seem a bit tooo high!!! Esp when nothing is accommodated for the pet! A pet bed was not provided or dog bowls and only saying they should be if your charging me 75 a night for my pet to still sleep in a crate!

Sanaz S.

Yelp
Pros: great locations, nice rooms, very comfortable bed/pillows, Cons: very weak WiFi (they should start charging, maybe then they can afford strengthening the signal), room cleaning service: our sheets were never changed despite the cleaning staff cleaning the room! Unacceptable.

Andrew B.

Yelp
Don't do it. You will be severely disappointed. I stayed here with my (now) wife the day of our wedding. The restaurant downstairs at 12:30 AM told us they could not serve a drink because they shut the taps off at 1:00 AM. There was no curb side assistance when we checked in earlier that day, nor when we left at 9am on Monday. After leaving for a few hours the one day we stayed, we came back to our room messier than we left it. My hanging suit was crumpled on a chair and my wedding ring that was on the bedside was on the floor. This is probably the most immature service I have ever received in my life - nobody knows what's going on anywhere and all act like the customer should bow to them. I BEG YOU, and if for nothing else for the few Marriot or Hilton points you will accrue, do not stay at this hole. If you need to visit, stop by the reception for a gander, the newly constructed fireplace and cabinets in the main room are the only redeeming aspect of this detriment to the city of Wayzata, the state of Minnesota.

Georgie S.

Yelp
Was excited about the idea of a new & fun hotel for my upcoming wedding..something different than the standard country club wedding feel, but still convenient for my guests. I pursued The Landing and have been so disappointed! Maybe they are still working out the kinks, but the lack of communication was appalling! I settled on a different venue, not far from The Landing, so thought perhaps we could still use them to accommodate our guests from out of town. I've tried emailing and calling multiple times to book a block of rooms. I finally got in touch with Kim, who said she would email me information on this days ago. Still nothing....

Ryan T.

Yelp
We spent our 10 year anniversary in the presidential suite. Beautiful room with great views toward the lake. Great location - walking distance to downtown Wayzata and the lake. Would definitely stay here again.

Kim F.

Yelp
Five-star service and accommodations. I had the opportunity to stay at Hotel Landing for the weekend for a family celebration, and I can't speak highly enough about the hotel staff, management, and overall stay. The staff made us feel very welcomed and ensured all of our needs were taken care of. You can tell they take great pride in their hotel. The rooms are incredibly clean - we had a little one crawling the floors and halls, and I didn't have a concern about it due to the cleanliness of the entire building. The beds are fantastically comfortable. The location is ideal, just steps away from great food, drink, and shopping. Highly highly recommend (and overall, I'm not a fan of hotel stays, so my expectations are high).

Kristin R.

Yelp
Great happy hour but service has been hit or miss. Nice patio and one of the few places in Wayzata where they actually offer happy hour on the patio.

Jean D.

Yelp
The inside dining room was freezing so we ate outside. The Simple Salad was just lettuce. The burger was mushy and the portions were small.
