If you wish to be a walk away from downtown Charlottetown and all the historic sites, this is the place to be. We stayed in Suite 122 on the lower level, and could park our car (for free) in front of our room. The room itself is modern, open, and bright, and comes with a mini fridge as well as an air conditioning unit that means business. It also has a flat screen TV with a webcam aimed at the double bed, which was a bit strange. I was able to turn the camera away from us so we didn't feel watched. The bathroom itself isn't huge, but has everything you need. The vanity is the narrowest I've ever seen. My wife wasn't a fan of the super bright bathroom light which in her words made her look like "death warmed over." I especially appreciated the fact that all soaps, lotions, and hair products came in refillable, eco-friendly containers instead of in wasteful small plastic tubes. The water pressure in the shower was phenomenal! The King bed in our room was fantastic! The mattress was one of the best I've ever slept on, and the pillows were not too firm and yet delightfully supportive. A nice perk is the free weeknight Happy Hour in the lobby where soft drinks, local beer and wine are served. Also free are two regular Specialized bikes that didn't seem to be much in demand. We have to give a big shout out to the lovely breakfast lady who runs a tight but personable ship. Kudos for all the gluten-free offerings (including a separate toaster)!

This hotel was the best. It’s walking distance to downtown Charlottetown for shops and restaurants. Perfectly located! The staff were very friendly & accommodating and the rooms were clean. The little extras the hotel offers like a complimentary drink in evening or renting a bike added a very nice touch. I highly recommend this hotel!

Lovely hotel within walking distance to major attractions. The beds were super comfortable, as well as the pillows! Rooms were large and modern. A small glitch with the hotel rate was quickly and efficiently rectified with an email when we got home - very friendly and accommodating staff. The breakfast was also a treat, lots of choice and hot options too. Highly recommend!

Excellent location. Staff were helpful, but constant feel that i needed to spiff up the place constantly. Pull some weeds, find a better place to collect the laundry - these are the things that would take a hotel from basic to good. For me, the location was the best advantage of staying here.

Nice hotel. I would have given a 5 of we had had service in the room the second day, but despite requesting it, it didn’t happen. I also find it weird that you have to request service. At least making the beds should be a minimum in an hotel. Otherwise staff was nice and friendly. Room was clean but no view. Location was great. Also important to note that you have to carry your cases through several flights of stairs, depending on your floor, since hotel doesn’t have elevators.

Stayed for two nights at the end of May. Easy check in, we arrived in the afternoon when there are complimentary cookies available , nice touch. Our room was very spacious, plenty of room for our two suitcases, no tripping over them, the amenities in the bathroom were good decent towels . Enjoyed the happy hour , great chance to meet other guests and get exchange holiday ideas and experiences A nice touch is the coffee and flavoured water in reception. The continental breakfast was fine too Friendly team, would happily stay again

Nice place to stay! We spent one night here and was quite impressed! The outside of the building is a little older looking but the rooms have been upgraded and are very clean! The bed (and pillows) were very comfortable giving my husband and I the best nights’ sleep of our entire trip! Breakfast was good with plenty of options. Location is a very short walk to historic downtown and the waterfront. We would definitely stay here again!

Hotel is nicely located close to the center, and parking is convenient. Staff is nice and friendly. Rooms are comfortable and clean, washroom a little small. A window with no view in the room we had. Breakfast was a great buffet. Main downsides are the lack of elevator (you'll need to climb 2 to 3 flights of stairs to get to your room from the lobby) and the fact you have to specifically ASK for the room to be cleaned (they call it "refreshed"), and it still doesn't happen at times. Making the bed would be a minimum I'd expect in an hotel, so little disappointing.

Yelp
5 stars for Comfort, cleanliness, and service!! Actually 10 stars for each! Although this was a working / vacation, I spent a week in one of their suites and it felt at home. The friendly staff were very helpful and made my stay enjoyable. The bed was comfortable even though the box spring was very creaky and loud lol Loved having a well appointed kitchenette, comfy chaise/couch and self controlled heat/air. They even have a small movable mirror in the washroom, which is helpful for nearsighted ppl like me. I wouldn't stay anywhere else on my next visit to PEI!

Yelp
BARE Minimal services. No late check out available. Fridge broken on arrival. Replaced with a fridge that hardly kept water cool. Tub didnt drain properly and basically everytime i showered i was in a 3 inch tub of dirty water. No freezer compartment in fridge, and finding a Kettle instead of the lukewarm water in lobby was an ordeal to find (initially given a ancient one never used in years which sounded disgusting). Housekeeping was a joke here. They ask you to go green but don't have the gifts cards they promise if you do go green, If housekeeping does come to room they just make your bed and nothing else and they run out of the gift cards they promise you (my friend had no housekeeping in her room but had no gift cards given to her!) I had one zipper on my brand new suitcase broken bc it was apparently attempted to be opened by someone when we had our room cleaned the first time during our week stay (traveled for 2 weeks prior and zipper was good on arrival check in) Food was eaten out of our fridge (1/4 of container of shucked lobster and several fresh oysters). The only decent thing was the location of the property and the buffet breakfast which was an brunch style omelette, alternating soggy hashbrowns or pork sausages. There was cereal, toast, bagels, yogurt and cheese too. A decent breakfast to fill you up for a day in charlottetown. There was also free bike rentals which I enjoyed. A complimentary wine or beer tasting daily from 5pm-6pm. And cookies which seemed to always run out so I only tried them once. Overall I was not impressed with my broken luggage, eaten food from fridge and the go green gift card issues. Not sure why this places charges so much for a daily rate but it's a 3 star hotel at most.

Yelp
Booked on Orbits and the hotel did not reserve our room. Received a lesser room for the same price. Walls are very thin, the room was warm, had a torn window curtain and condoms that I'm guessing were not cleaned up after the last guest. One particular employee tried her best to make our situation better. She checked on us the next day and showed genuine concern for our situation. She is the reason I am not rating it a 1.

Yelp
Clean. Close to everything. GoGreen and get a $10 voucher for multiple restaurants for each day you skip housekeeping. We had great dining experiences and saved money! A complimentary breakfast to look forward to (and not have to worry about where to buy brekkie) with lots to eat and drink: fruit, cereal, eggs (omelet or frittata was yesterday and boiled today with hash browns and sausages today), muffins, English muffins, toast, bagels, yogurt, and really tasty scones? I think they were? Cinnamon buns. Coffee, tea including herbal tea, hot chocolate, juice (apple, orange or cranberry). How good does that sound? Our room was small with no fridge but perfect for our short stay. It was comfortable and clean. The finicky Keurig machine made a cup worth the fuss. Not that I really needed more coffee - I had enough at brekkie and in the evenings when coffee and fresh cookies were served. Thank you! WiFi worked great!!! I really needed it to and it did! On Friday evening we enjoyed a glass of wine and local craft brews as well as coffee and cookies. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
What this hotel shows on their website and on Facebook is far from the truth. We stayed there a couple of weeks ago, and our room looked nothing like what they picture. The AC was terrible, and in general the place is run down. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
I travel a lot for business and this is one of my favourite spots. The rooms I've had have always had hard wood floors, no gross carpets. The rooms are always very clean and they have an apartment/ home/ stylish feel. It's refreshing after staying in so many big brand hotels. The staff have always been sweet and so helpful with food recommendations and speedy check in.

Yelp
I always stay at The Hotel on Pownal! Staff is always so friendly and quick to accommodate. It was my birthday weekend and the gentleman, Matt, at the front desk was so sweet and even left a little treat in my room with a hand-written card wishing me a Happy Birthday! It's all in the little details and they get it right every time. Can't wait for my next stay there!

Yelp
Newly remodeled and quiet. Close to restaurants and entertainment. They also have a laundry room which comes in handy after walking biking all day and should be required in every hotel. AC did not work and it was actually hot this trip, but generally not a problem on PEI

Yelp
We stayed at Room 121... Decent room but there was a musty mould smell... It never really went away after 3 days. They acknowledged that and gave us a gift card and 20% off our stay. I really cant complain about anything else... Great location-walking distance to everywhere.

Yelp
Pretty good place. Helped me when I ran into laundry troubles and has muffin in the morning at noon and cookies in the afternoon in their eating area. That being said there was nothing that really stood out about this place but nothing that was bad either
