Love this place! I was in town for my niece’s wedding. Gracious hospitality plus smart insightful design made for a great traveling experience. I really appreciated the breakfast and desert options which were a charming and delightful part of every day. I stayed in a cabin; t was perfectly designed and completely comfortable. I will eagerly look forward to my next visit.

The Hotel Saugatuck was a delightful experience. I only wished we had more time. The check-in process was efficient and personable. The room was spacious, yet cozy and charming. They included snacks in the room, which was a nice touch, as were the cookies in the lobby. The customer service was top notch, the front desk clerk took the time to answer all our questions and provide recommendations for our first stay in Saugatuck. The included room service breakfast in the morning was exceptional; the options and execution exceeded expectations. The dessert treat at the end of the day was welcome as well. All around great; highly recommend!

Looking for luxury? Look elsewhere! Came here for a get-away with my husband and our stay was just ok. First things first - this is NOT a luxury stay as advertised. The hotel itself is nice but luxurious? we thought not. For $600 a night, we expected a nicer room with higher end finishes. We had cob webs in our room on 2 lamps, dirty windows, cords hanging out from the tv and worn out furniture in our room. The front desk lady was pleasant but did not go out of her way to make us feel welcome. (we just drove 4 hrs to get there) The included breakfasts were nothing special that I couldn’t make myself at home. All lacked flavor across the board and the coffee was very weak and tasted watered down to us. You’d expect amazing coffee at a B&B?!? It is located 1 mile on foot round trip from downtown area so be prepared to walk. Not worth $600/night in our opinion. Would not return.

I hate writing a bad review for a small business, but honestly I'm really surprised at the number of positive reviews for this property. We found for the price paid (about $600/night with taxes and fees), this was an exceptionally poor value. ||Rooms: The rooms have had some interior decorating updating, but bathrooms have not been updated. I found the dated tub to not be appealing. I also truly hated the fireplace that provided an open view between the bedroom and the shower. The openness to the bathroom eliminated privacy. One of our rooms also lacked WiFi during our entire stay (again, we paid $600/nights....wifi is expected). This created a problem for our son who was trying to work. Front desk staff said they would tell the manager when she returned on Monday which did not help us. I was rather surprised that the Manager is not available on peak summer weekends.||Common Spaces: The lobby is extremely basic and in need of some interior decorating. It is not appealing at all when you enter (again...expectations are different at $600/night). The cottages all face the parking lot. I was really glad I did not book them. There is a nice yard in the back. I would suggest that the hotel do a brief tour of the grounds when guests check in and show them the green space and where the bikes are stored as this does improve the initial impressions. We found these areas on our own through a side window.||Breakfast: There is no breakfast room in this hotel. When you arrive, you are allowed to pick a half hour time window for when your breakfast is delivered. If you are one of the last to check in, you might get an earlier or later slot than what you prefer. The breakfast is delivered to the room. We had a very uninviting breakfast space in our room that seated two. Given we were traveling with our son who was in our 2nd room, we ended up eating in the lobby which was not an appealing space and we felt like we needed to be quiet as the table was right outside of someone else's room. I did not like this set-up at all. We also found the breakfasts to be small portions. Our adult son was training for a marathon. Given we were paying full rate for a room for him, we ordered two breakfasts for his room on our 2nd day after we saw the portion sizes. Instead of providing 2 breakfasts, they gave him a half portion of each entree. I found this to be cheap given the room price.||Location: I would not call this an in-town location. To get to the middle of town, you have about a 16 minute walk along a busy road pass residential. This does not seem long, but when it is an extremely hot weekend, it felt long! Parking is a huge issue in Saugatuck so you will likely want to walk. On our 2nd day, we learned from the front desk that a shuttle can be ordered. This information should have been provided to guests at check-in as the shuttle is quite useful.||So....sadly, this is a negative review. If we had been paying about half the price that we paid, I might have come away with different feelings. However, expectations increase when you charge the rates that we paid.

We loved everything about this beautiful hotel! The room was outstanding with great views of the pond, outdoor fireplace, and the lake. Every single staff member we encountered was super-friendly and helpful - giving us tips on the best places at which to shop and to find a morning latte. Homemade chocolate chip cookies were available anytime of day or night to ward off hunger until mealtime. Breakfast was superb, different each day, and beautifully presented. The special early evening desserts delivered to our room each day were perfectly chilled, delicious, homemade treats that were the perfect end to each day we stayed. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to feel very special as a guest.

My Girlfriend and I both stayed at the Hotel Saugatuck, when I say it was the best hotel we have ever stayed at it was! The service was amazing, they had complementary Breakfast and Dessert which was brought to the room. It was very high class treatment with modern rooms. The room was extremely clean. It had everything you needed in the room. They had a diverse breakfast option which you can choose from. The food was amazing! When we got the food it was hot and tasty! The dessert was a little sweet treat for the night! The location was not far only 0.5 miles from the hotel, it was a great walk! You could see all the beautiful houses and the river. I truly recommend staying here if you want to see Saugatuck in all it's beauty!

We paid $700 + per night for a mediocre experience. We stayed in a cottage, where the only view was of the parking lot- this is the same for all but the first cottage. The landscaping was all dead- it’s been hot, but there was no sign of any watering system. They could construct a fence so when sitting on your deck you wouldn’t be looking at cars, but I guess the $700 a night doesn’t include upkeep of the hotel. Really disappointing. ||Beware, if you’re sitting on the deck, there are no rails, so one misstep, and you’re 3 feet to the ground. ||The room itself was fine, but not luxury as described. The furniture was warn, the shower leaked and you couldn’t keep your shades open due to the parking lot.||After checking in she walked us to our cottage but she didn’t mention any amenities suck as bikes or a fire pit. The breakfast and dessert drop off was nice, but that was really it. ||While this might be average for summer in Saugatuck, the cost does equate.

We had an amazing stay! The breakfast brought to our cabin every morning was delicious and so convenient. The location to the downtown area is an easy walk. The cabin was beautiful inside and had everything we needed! The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. I absolutely recommend it, and will definitely be back.
