The Hotel Sync is unassuming in its location -- behind a Super 8 in what looks like a bland apartment building -- and in a sense that is exactly what Sync is -- a set of nicely (albeit sparsely) furnished apartments.
Of course, this sells the hotel short, as they really do an impeccable job providing more than the basics.
First, Sync may very well be the cleanest hotel I have ever been in (or at least tied with some that far exceeded Sync's price). The room is also large -- a suite, to be sure, with a full kitchen and living area. It would be fantastic for a longer stay. The hotel includes a lot of nice touches (free snacks in lieu of minibar, free laundry and wifi, a filtered water station, and very nice, French pressed coffee in the morning) and seems to "skimp" in strategic ways: dispensers of shampoo and body wash, rather than miniature bottles -- no breakfast except your snack pack or possibly an apple (ok by me as I am no fan of most "continental breakfasts" and would readily sacrifice a stale pastry for good coffee any day). Overall, I was impressed by Hotel Sync.
There were a few minor caveats, however. First, the hotel aims to be green but also hypoallergenic (sterile?), so the bedding is limited (this way they can do a better job washing everything between guests). This was mostly ok, but I would have preferred a second blanket (they probably would have provided one if I had asked, but I didn't, so my bad!). The thermostat was also a bit finicky, so I kept alternating between hot and cold. If I were returning, I might pack thicker pajamas. Also, if you are a light sleeper, know that you can sometimes hear things like trucks backing up. Finally, the hotel staff leaves at 10pm (but are on call), and there seem to be quiet hours at some point, so this place wouldn't work for parties, etc (this was a plus for me on this trip!)
Overall, Hotel Sync was a very nice place to stay; I would recommend it to anyone looking for comfortable lodging near Bowling Green.
