The 23 Best Places to Go in the U.S. in 2023

"The Telluride Film Festival will light up Labor Day weekend for a 50th year—with top directors, A-list movie stars, and everyday cinephiles attending screenings that spark lively conversations and events in the town's bars, parks, and gondolas."

"The Hotel Telluride is close to town and the slopes but just removed enough from the action to feel like a tranquil mountain getaway. Here, the warm lobby welcomes guests with a large fireplace, comfy couches, and board games, as well as a dedicated check-in area for pets, who are allowed for a small fee and treated to house-made biscuits. Rooms have kitchenettes, private balconies, and humidifiers to combat the dry mountain air, while suites feature separate living and dining areas. It’s been said that The Hotel Telluride also boasts the most comfortable bed in town, triple-sheeted with custom-made linens. The small, on-site restaurant, West End Bistro, serves a hot breakfast and simple dinner items like kale-and-quinoa salad and Colorado beef burgers—plus freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for an après-ski treat. Guests also have access to a sun deck with hot tubs and outdoor saunas as well as free cruiser bikes and shuttle service to the gondola and downtown Telluride. If desired, the hotel can even arrange for in-room massages or guided day trips to forage for wild mushrooms."

The Hotel Telluride

"Inspired by the history of Telluride, this "intimate ski lodge–style hotel is charming, with fantastic views" of the surrounding mountains. Guest rooms are "comfortable but not luxurious" and come with mahogany furnishings, balconies or patios with mountain views, and bathrooms with marble accents. Staff are "extremely friendly" and provide complimentary ski, snowboard, and bike storage as well as a shuttle to the gondola. The family-friendly Nook serves tavern fare and an "excellent breakfast buffet." Beat the cold after a day on the slopes at the après-ski baked potato and chili bar."

The Hotel Telluride was a cozy, intimate, clean, and relaxing stay during our most recent visit to Telluride. It's about a 10 minute walk into the main downtown area from the hotel, which was fine for us, but there is a shuttle the hotel runs if you're interested. The rooms were a tad dated, but absolutely clean and well decorated. The service throughout was similarly top notch. Would recommend others stay here!

Our film team stayed at Hotel Telluride for The Telluride MountainFilm Fest and had an absolutely incredible time. The beds were luxurious, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the mountain setting was breathtaking. Shout out to Chelsea, Andrew, and Chef ( who put on a celebratory meal for our team that was incredibly memorable) The MountainFilm Coffee Talk in the lobby was epic. We will be back next year!

This hotel was excellent. The staff was wonderful and went above and beyond to accommodate us. The location is great, within walking distance to plenty of restaurants and shops but far enough away that is was quite. Every room has a great view. The bed was comfortable and the sheets felt amazing. The rooms are equipped with a microwave, mini fridge and a coffee maker. It also had a balcony. Very spacious room! Parking in a garage underneath the hotel for a fee. Breakfast was good too!

The hotel seemed really nice but parking was definitely NOT. We have a large SUV and it would not fit in the garage because the max height was 6’8”. The only other parking was metered parking or garages blocks away and who wants to deal with that?!? We actually ended up leaving and going someplace else. Very disappointing because the hotel did seem very nice in the 30 minutes we were there. Also lost money because it was nonrefundable but couldn’t get past parking situation when on vacation. Note the self - make sure about parking BEFORE booking.

We stayed at the Hotel Telluride on our most recent fall trip to Telluride. The hotel parking garage was easy to use. The staff was attentive. The hotel had a quaint feel to it which was nice. The room felt a bit small for the price. We did enjoy the proximity to all the restaurants and shops. I would recommend staying here if visiting Telluride.

Beautiful hotel and great staff! The room was nice, spacious & featured a small kitchette, the balcony was a little small for two people. We used the fitness room and spa, both were great.

A snow storm had closed CO145 and we needed a room for the night. The Hotel Telluride was a last minute find but turned into a wonderful experience on a snowy evening. Laura at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Angel guided us safely around the block for garage parking. We were able to order a meal at the restaurant. Chelsea was prompt, friendly and gave good food recommendations. The town of Telluride was beautiful in the morning. We had a great rest and were able to complete our travel the next day. Thank you again for the great accommodations.

Google
I would not recommend the hotel due to their management. I got my dates mixed up by 1 day when booking. I realized my mistake minutes later and called who I booked the room through. They placed me on hold and called the hotel's management. Management wasn't there, so they made later contact. The hotel refused to move the reservation or allow me to cancel and rebook even though the dates are available. I definitely would not recommend doing business with them!

Yelp
On the surface, this has all the makings of a beautiful boutique hotel tucked away in a mountain town. However, you'll be disappointed the moment you check in. The staff at the desk seems new to the hotel and constantly goes to the back room to speak to "the manager" to clarify each issue and action. This was a recurring theme throughout our stay. The rooms are large and well appointed. Some may find it cozy and charming, but it feels a bit dated and the furniture isn't super comfortable. Another perk to staying is the in town shuttle. However, the process for being picked up is difficult and can leave you waiting for up to 30 minutes at a time or packing in with large groups. Perhaps a larger shuttled for ski pick up and drop off is warranted. We also had an incident where the shuttle truck started rolling away and nearly ran us over when crossing the street. The one highlight was the coffee and hot chocolate station after coming back from the ski hill. It's refilled often and a nice way to end the day. Overall the hotel is fine for a stay, but given the exorbitant pricing during ski season...I'd look elsewhere.

Yelp
Room was great and spacious. With pretty nice amenities. The hot tub area was a little disappointing and very small. The room was clean and modern. Nice view of a lacrosse field on our balcony and walking distance to downtown Telluride.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed with this hotels customer service. I reached out to them via email regarding a business collaboration, and instead of simply telling me they weren't interested, an extremely unprofessional employee responded with an image of bugs bunny saying "no" ...might be appropriate if you were communicating with an ex boyfriend or middle schooler. Completely unnecessary and leads me to never want to stay at this hotel, and will make sure to pass along the word to others staying in telluride. I am shocked by this behavior and feel management should be aware of this. A simple "we're not interested" (or no response at all) would have sufficed.

Yelp
Beautiful, clean and convenient to shops, restaurants etc. Amazing staff. Friendly and accommodating. After having to leave another property that was way below par, the staff provided us with an amazing room late in the day and worked with us being on a motorcycle with parking, bringing in items etc. Had such a pleasant experience we even booked an extra day (after leaving) and they allowed us back into the same room after cleaning it to a tee. Loved this property and their entire staff and this will be the only place we when in Telluride.

Yelp
Location is very convenient to the mainstream shops and restaurants. All walkable! Hotel lobby is huge -- it's a fantastic space to enjoy a coffee / glass of wine by the fire. Rooms are sizable but decor is tired. Our room had a pull out couch ... and a small deck for fresh air. This we loved! Service is very very friendly. Coffee and tea in the lobby all day. Even fresh baked cookies!

Yelp
This is a nice hotel but the interior and rooms are a bit dated for the price. The beds looked plush and comfy but were actually the least comfortable of every hotel we stayed at - the furniture in the hallways and decor is super old and dated, and amenities in the room were 50/50 with the bathroom needing some TLC. Still, room was comfy and large enough with a desk and seating area, small sink and coffee bar and bathroom. Everything in Telluride is expensive, due to the location and remoteness I suppose, so this was one of the cheaper hotels when my bestie and I booked it a year ago at almost $500 per night! Location is great and is within walking distance to everything in the main part of town including shopping, dining, and the gondolas. There is a free shuttle around town for pick-ups and drop-offs until 10pm every day and the driver and staff are wonderful. Additionally, they have bikes you can check out and ride around that are cruisers with bells on them - we used them one day and took a ride by the water along a trail and had a blast. They include locks though I don't think bikes are routinely stolen here. We heard the dinner at the co-located restaurant is amazing but we didn't dine here for dinner - we did eat breakfast one day and I wasn't overly impressed. I chose a yogurt parfait and it had a ton of yogurt but not a lot of granola or fruit for $13 and I had to ask for honey and other toppings to try to make it edible. Not awful, but also not great. Service was also pretty clipped and blunt. Check-in was easy enough. Parking in their super small and crowded garage is $20 a day but was easier than moving the car every few hours around the town just to save $20 so we paid it for 2 days. They have fresh water, a coffee bar, and some delicious fresh-baked cookies available on site throughout the day. I loved the coffee bar and the roaring and welcoming fireplace at night where we would make a drink, have a cookie, and sit to research the next day every night. My friend had a bit of a stomach bug due to something she ate for a day and the lady at the front desk was super nice about checking on her and providing us with ginger ale for her stomach. Overall a nice stay -

Yelp
This is a very beautiful and clean hotel. Both the night and day staff behind the desk were friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful walk into town and back.

Yelp
Great location, about 5-8 min walk to town central. Great amenities, spa, gym, restaurant. Beds are comfy and super pet friendly. My only issue was if on bottom floor you'll hear everything from floor above but overall a great place to stay.

Shelby A.

Yelp
There is a lot of room for improvement at this place. The Elk it self was good but the "potato's" it came on and supporting side dishes are very disappointing. The Gyro was average. I asked for a side of ranch and the bartender gave my WARM almost hot ranch. When I told her about this she responded with a "oh probably because it's next to the hot food warmers" then did nothing to rectify the issue. The ranch will probably make someone sick. The menu is small and not worth the time and effort to eat here.

Tom C.

Yelp
Our hotel room was clean, roomy, the bed was comfortable, we had a sink, refrigerator, and Keurig coffee maker. The front desk staff was helpful and went out of their way to make our stay a good experience. I'll stay at this hotel again and would recommend it.

Yelp
We loved our recent stay here and are looking forward to returning in the summer, if you are visiting the area they should be at the top of your list. The service, rooms and common areas are impeccable. From check-in to on-site and in room dining, to housekeeping and driving service, everything was 5 star. The gym area is well appointed, clean and offers two hot tubs outside on an attached patio if you need to soak your muscles after your workout or outdoor activities. The hotel has a cozy, European feel ala Colorado style and history. The common areas offered an array of activities you can enjoy alone or with others and their coffee, tea, hot chocolate bar is perfection! It was nice to come back from skiing, shopping or walking the area and grab a cookie and hot tea/chocolate to warm up. If hot drinks aren't your thing you could sit by their beautiful fireplace or relax in their oversized leather sofas while listening to guitar music (compliments of another guest during our visit) to warm up or relax._ Every hotel employee was friendly, helpful and attentive to their area while be friendly yet professional. The downtown area is a short walk away and a grocery store just a few blocks if you find yourself in need of something or just want some drinks or snacks for your room. If you do not want to walk their car service will take you, they always seemed available I suspect it is because the town is small and they can shuttle people to and fro fairly quickly. The car service is free but I highly recommend you bring tipping cash to take care of the driver/s both of them were friendly and helpful if you had questions about the area or such. Their in room dining is spot on if you prefer to dine in room and not in the dining area. The dinning area is small but gets the job done if you prefer to dine with others or outside of your room. The food was good and the wait for in room dinning was appropriate, as the hotel got busier I was afraid it would be ridiculously long but thankfully it wasn't! Looking forward to staying with them again!

Cage R.

Yelp
Bad front desk service Good amenities good walkable distance for the town however there is black mold in the showers and nobody seemed to care about it ruined the whole stay I mentioned it to about 3 people the maintenance man in the garage was the most professional and seemed genuinely concerned. If your room is facing the north side of the hotel prepare for an alarm clock of screaming kids around 7am I recommend a room on the south for views and noise pollution. Don't open random in your room you will find messes of cobwebs and a horribly dusty set of blinds. Sad ending to a good trip the black mold really sealed the deal.

Deborah A.

Yelp
Oh my! We booked the wrong Date and the hotel telluride manager Kevin and his staff at the front desk were unbelievably nice. Wonderful is More like it. They had everybody helping and were just unbelievable. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Telluride even with many amenities unavailable due to COVID. We had two dogs with us and they were greeted so warmly! A welcome sign with their names at check in, then welcome bowls and treats and dog beds ready in the room. It made that part of the trip less stressful because everything was available and ready. Our rooms were nice, and had pretty views from the balcony. The balcony is pretty small, comfortable for two and maybe not much more. The garage had small spaces but it was actually ok since they were operating at half capacity. The best part was that the hotel was walking distance to everything, so we never really had to drive anywhere. Maybe 10mins max to the gondola ride, creek walk, and many delicious restaurants. Made our first trip to Telluride so enjoyable. We did have an initial rude call with I think India (?) after they lost our initial payment information. However, all other staff was very nice.

Christopher S.

Yelp
My wife and I have stayed at the Hotel Telluride many times and our experience has always exceeded our expectations. You really get the feeling that you're in a mountain town. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and the food and drinks are outstanding. The staff treated our dog Maximus as if he was their own. What's wonderful is the atmosphere that the staff creates spills over to the guests, making our stays there extremely memorable. We will always stay at this hotel every year we go back to Telluride. Thank you to the staff for creating such an amazing place to stay.

K. G.

Yelp
DO NOT BOOK HERE! I had a family emergency and needed to cancel the room 30+ days out. They said they do not provide refunds and didn't even offer to let me have a credit or rebook the date in the future. They are taking $291 from me. How is this ethical or legal?

Kelly G.

Yelp
The entire hotel staff is welcoming and helpful. The location is great, close to town but just far enough away that it is quiet and relaxing. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the mini fridge and in room amenities were perfect for our hiking needs and preparations. Comfortable bed, great pillows, and good water pressure in the shower. The always available coffee and tea in the lobby was a major bonus. Rooms are clean and an overall great stay.

Yelp
My first time visiting Telluride and it was made even better by my stay here. The room was beautiful and cozy, the staff was very helpful and the shuttle was a lifesaver. The restaurant has a new chef that enjoyed speaking to everyone and helped me decide what to order. I will definitely return and look forward to my next trip!

Jacob Moore A.

Yelp
Let's start it off with good service. So the service was good. Tom literally the nicest guy ever. He brought our bags in and took us on the free shuttle for around town. But then it's literally all downhill. The power went out and then the fire alarm went off? Luckily it was a false call but we were out of our room for hours. He let us go in their lobby and we stayed there for a while but still, why doesn't a hotel have a generator?

Suzy H.

Yelp
Highly recommend this hotel. We made a mistake in our reservation, and the hotel staff and managers rushed to assist us and get things sorted out so we didn't ruin our vacation. Great location, good food, nice Mountain rustic decor. Homey and welcoming. Definitely returning here regularly!

Brad H.

Yelp
This is the best hotel experience we've had in a long time. The staff is amazing. The property is beautiful and kept with excellence. Plenty of secure parking. Could not recommend it more highly. We will return as often as we can.

Hans B.

Yelp
A wonderful gem in downtown Telluride. Everything from the room to the staff to the entry area were wonderful. Tristan was a wonderful host at the front desk. He made great suggestions on where to go and what to do and was always helpful. You can walk to everything downtown. Off season was a good time to go as the rates were very reasonable. We'll be back!

Kasey B.

Yelp
Hotel Telluride is the worst hotel I have ever visited. I booked an Elite Signature View King room for my stay to celebrate our wedding and I was greeted with the view of building. I was switched rooms but told that I would need to switch again 2 days into my stay. This was highly inconvenient. Not only was I not offered help with my bags for this move, but the rude manager Kevin mocked me and said "how mad are you right now." This is a despicable thing to say to a client. I also ordered food to my room on my wedding night and instead of charging it to my room, I was greeted in my literal wedding dress with a check after the restaurant closed. That was not the time or the place. If they really needed to present me with a check and not just charge it to the room as I asked, they could have waited until the next day. The furniture was also disgusting and stained and there is minimal parking available. I was told that parking was included in the stay and surprised when I was charged for a spot on site when I checked out. I was also wrongfully charged a fee for my service dog. When I brought these issues up to management, they offered me a partial refund. Looking at my credit card statement, the refund was less than I was promised and when I called in to discuss, I was connected to a woman named Amanda. Amanda should not be working in customer service and Hotel Telluride should be embarrassed to have her as an employee. She yelled at me and hung up on me two separate times as I was just trying to get clarity about my refund. Avoid this hotel at all costs. Camel Garden down the road has less stars but it is a LOT better. I am so very disappointed, this is no way to treat a customer let alone someone getting married while staying there

Nancy P.

Yelp
Overall, a pretty nice place in Telluride. There is a little restaurant in the hotel and everything is delicious, the other cool thing is that they have a pleasant shuttle service that saves you ever having to get in your car. Bad part- we forgot my pillow in the room and although we called soon after we left, I didn't get my pillow back. They never seemed to really care, handed it off from one employee to another. Nobody just walked up to housekeeping and looked for my pillow. It had an orange flannel pillowcase on it so hard to miss. I still have hope, as I know things don't disappear into thin air, that someone will mail it back to me. I wouldn't stay there again because of this lack of good management.

Yelp
It's the anniversary of this unforgettable telluRIDE and I'm back with some pics and to encourage the brides of these times that wedding plans are overrated. Everything happens for a reason. If your wedding was canceled because of COVID-19 marry your person anyway, it's about you not about the wedding. Okay thanks for coming to my Ginge Talk.

Yelp
Perfect spot for first timer visitors. Our favorite amenity was the underground parking garage for $20 a night. It was great to have a spot to store our luggage before early check in when the room is not available. Some hotels in Telluride don't have parking and expect you to find scarce street parking, try doing that when there's a winter storm outside and your tired from the long drive. The parking spaces is a little tight but any mid size SUV fits fine. Downtown Telluride is about 10-15min walking and the hotel offers complementary shuttle with luxury Ford Expeditions. In the lobby there's complementary coffee tea and has live music on weekend evenings. The on site restaurant west end bistro has a breakfast buffet for around $18 per person with plenty of options. For other dinning places check out Sheridan Hotel Chop House, or the Brown Dog Pizza for some Detroit style Pizza. The building is old and not very sound proof so rooms can be a bit noisy due to nearby road and your neighbors AC heating fan can be bothersome. Overall I would stay here again and catch the free gondola up to mountain village. Our shuttle driver Dave O. was so nice and had a wealth of knowledge about the town. Overall all the staff were professional and being a dog friendly hotel it was fun watching all the furry buddies strolling in and out. I highly recommend Hotel Telluride.

Monica R.

Yelp
We stayed at the hotel for valentines weekend. Everyone was really nice. They said there wasn't going to be room service but there was, it's nice to return to a room with the bed made and new towels :). Tom, one of the drivers, was genuinely nice and gave some recommendations on dinner spots. We hadn't made any reservations and was able to find a place to get in quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful place! Staff was awesome! My husband mention that it was our anniversary trip when he called to confirm the reservation and they received us with a bottle of red wine and a note to congratulate us, that what you call extra mile! Thank you!!!! We had breakfast the West End Restaurant food and service was great! Beautiful decorating for Christmas. I wish we could have stay longer. But we will definitely come back!

Yelp
If you have dogs, don't stay here. If you don't like dogs, don't stay here. We take our dogs with us whenever we can, therefor we stay at places we can have our dogs. We've never had a single complaint about them. We also usually stay at the Mountain Lodge, which I can promise you, we'll return to rather than risking another crappy vacation elsewhere. The Hotel Telluride is nice, as are the rooms. We paid over $1600 to stay here with our dogs. Friday evening at 6pm, while enjoying dinner with friends and family from out of state, I get a call that our dogs are barking. So we go back to a silent room and my husband decides to just stay there. 6pm, Perhaps someone was checking in, getting into their room which caused our dogs to bark for a moment? But yes, let's bother me during waking, weekend, dinner hours to manage this. Saturday, at noon, while I'm snowboarding, I get a call that my dogs are barking. Are you kidding me? Are the people around us never leaving their hotel rooms or is the barking bothering the staff? Noon, when housekeeping is banging around and have their crazy loud walky-talkies on? People checking out? MAYBE causing my dogs to bark? AGAIN during waking, weekend hours. I ended up just coming off the mountain, throwing away the last day of a $300 pass to come back to manage my dogs while there's a ton of noise going on outside. I've never been so inconvenienced during a vacation in my entire life. Not to mention the time we missed out on with friends and family, taking care of something that wasn't even important. Saturday night, we were able to function like normal vacationers. Not sure if the angry a$$holes next to us checked out or the staff gave up, but at least we had one freaking night to enjoy. Hard pass. Also, only one poop bag station. SUPER dog friendly. There was poop everywhere. *thumbs up* At least some of our money went to charity. Allegedly.

Yelp
Our trip to Telluride was a "spur of the moment" decision, after a quick search of "dog friendly" hotels we found The Hotel Telluride and booked it immediately. Upon entering the quaint mountain town, the Hotel Telluride is easy to find, but tucked behind some amazing pine trees. Check-in was super straight forward, they even asked our dogs name to put on their pet visitor board. After grabbing a delicious white chocolate chip cookie, we were off to our room. We were greeted with a complementary bottle of wine and two wine glasses. The room included a full oversized shower, little kitchenette with sink, microwave & mini fridge. The standard desk, chair and tv. The bed however, was like sleeping on a cloud, so soft and inviting. The room itself was incredibly clean and did not smell like dog as many other pet friendly hotels do. The toiletries were all l'occitane brand, full sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash - also available for purchase at the front desk. My only complaint is the Bistro leaves a lot to be desired. The menu is plain and felt like the food was held in a warming drawer for hours before serving. We will return to The Hotel Telluride because the experience was so exceptional.

Judy C.

Yelp
We were completely blown away by this hotel! The customer service was second to none! They treated us better than family and attended promptly to our every need. Dave-O and Kenny were more than happy to drive us to the gondola and even to get a take out pizza! We got everything we asked for when we booked the rooms, great view, balconies and adjoining rooms, no questions asked! We will definitely return to this hotel and highly recommend it.

Meredith D.

Yelp
My husband surprised me with a getaway to Telluride to celebrate my birthday. The Hotel Telluride was great - room was big and clean. The hotel is towards the edge of the town, but a short walk to all restaurants, the gondola, walking trails, etc. made it the perfect, quiet (except for loud buses) location. I was nervous to bring our dog as he had never stayed in a hotel before, but they made him feel more than comfortable with a bed, bowl and endless treats. Only reason I'm giving 4/5 stars is because the woman working the front desk Saturday night, 10/10 (approx 9pm) was incredibly rude. Due to COVID, you have to reserve the hot tub in advance (which we didn't mind at all). On Friday, we reserved the hot tub for 9pm the following evening. When we went down to the front desk for our reservation Saturday evening, the woman could not care less that there had been a mix up and another party was given our slot. She acted like my husband and I were idiots who didn't know what we were taking about. If she had said, "I'm so sorry, there must have been a mix up.." I wouldn't have thought twice about it. But she kept showing us the clipboard with the sign up sheet and aggressively saying "Well it says 9pm is room XXX". She did this FOUR times as if we couldn't read it the first time. I had to say, "Yes, we can read and see that's what is says" for her to stop. All we wanted was assurance that if we put our name down for Sunday night, the slot wouldn't be taken. Hotel management needs to know this type of response, and in reading other reviews we weren't the only ones to encounter this, is incredibly off putting and I would think unacceptable for a nice hotel. We will definitely be back and would be happy to stay there again as all the other staff were fantastic. However will look elsewhere if we're treated like that woman treated us in the future.

Yelp
Wow! What a nice hotel! The interior decor is cozy and chic. I particularly loved the lobby where you can enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, or infused water and cookies while you comfortably sit in one of the chairs by the majestic fireplace. The hotel has an overall feel of "mountain cabin" mixed with some classic touches (I fell in love with the chests of drawers in the hallways adorned with old books ...). The check-in was very accommodating: we called to see if there was any chance we could check in earlier. Paul was very kind and offered to call us back to let us know when the room would be ready. He could have said "at 4 pm" but instead he went out of his way to check in with housekeeping and were able to relax 1 hour earlier than expected :) David helped us out with our luggage, and then when he learned that it was my husband's birthday, he later came back with a free drink card. Again, this was very nice! The room we chose, the signature room, was very spacious and spotless clean. It has a nice cozy balcony where you can enjoy a nice tea; it features a microwave, sink, fridge, coffee machine, silverware, and glasses. This makes it really nice and accessible for people like me who have strict dietary needs. The beds were truly comfortable and the pillow were high quality. I enjoyed their designer bath products, especially the makeup remover towelettes. We didn't get a chance to try the restaurant for breakfast or dinner, as we dined at Rustico, but we then stopped by for drinks. Derek the bartender was very attentive and super nice. We met some pretty great people at the bar, even Molly the hotel manager. She was very nice and approachable and that's probably why her staff is so happy! Overall, I would stay here again in a heartbeat !

Yelp
Staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Both Molly and Will assisted every step of the way. Due to some off-season renovations we had a paint smell in our room - they quickly moved us to a different room without hassle. Will be coming back for years!i Pistine clean and comfortable bed. Only con - non HD cable

Yelp
I've been been spoiled by many of the other establishment in which I've been a guest in Telluride and Mountain Village, so my expectations going into The Hotel Telluride were pretty high. I have to say, they fell short of the mark in many areas. The night crew here is probably scheduled to the night shift for a reason. We pulled up and didn't receive the normal welcome one receives when their vehicle pulls up to a hotel. We unloaded all of our bags and placed them on a carrier, only after this was done did an attendant appear. "No thank you, Sir, we've already taken care of it". That was just the beginning of the rather odd welcome. The girl at the front desk didn't ask if we'd been guests of the hotel before, didn't offer a description of the layout of the facility, just simply told us our room, completed the customary required check in protocol for payment, etc. and sent us on our way. The room in which we were placed initially had a phone that didn't work, window blinds that were a poor state, and on the first floor. My lady asked if they had anything else and they did luckily. It would have been nice to have been given the option considering the other room was readily available. Just an all around odd welcome. The day shift definitely saved this review from being a 1 star as they were all very prompt, courteous and joyful. The crew at the The West End Bistro were very friendly and made sure we knew exactly how the morning breakfast was set up. Dave, the driver, also provided exemplary service as he checked in on us to see what we had planned for the day and was ready to provide recommendations if we didn't have plans. When we told him we were going snowshoeing he even offered to drive us to the trail head where we were headed. The parking garage is a nice offering especially in that part of town and for people who don't like having their vehicles valeted, as you park yourself and it's secured. I just can't recommend this hotel though when there are so many other higher quality establishments especially a short gondola trip away in Mountain Village.

Yelp
We have stayed here twice now, once during the winter ski season and now during the summer hiking season. Both times have been more than amazing. The service while at the hotel has been far beyond what we expected with the front desk accommodating whatever we may need during our stay and the personal and private chauffeur to take us anywhere we want to go. This has been our go-to place to stay while in telluride. If you're looking for somewhere to stay during your trip The Hotel Telluride is the place to be. We couldn't ask for a better hotel to add to a romantic and relaxing trip while exploring all that telluride has to offer!

Yelp
My husband, daughter and I stayed here in celebration for his birthday. Matt from the front desk delivered a bottle of wine and a card for him! (Great touch!) The lobby was beautiful and very inviting; I wish we'd spent a bit more time in there! All of the staff very welcoming, professional and kind. Our room was nice and super clean! I wish the balcony was a bit larger as my husband and I ate dinner out there each nice while our daughter was already asleep. Breakfast was tasty and much better than the typical hotel breakfast. The hotel is located well just on the edge of downtown, close enough to walk to everything but not in the mix of traffic, and also just across the street from the grocery store which we found really handy! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

Yelp
So the off season attracted my friend and I here and so did the price of the hotel. Really nice place and staff, kind of a bummer that they charge for parking but in the off season park on the street cause there's a lot of room there! Random but nice that they have a micowave, small fridge and sink for anything you'd need it for though. Totally be back here in a heart beat.

Yelp
Meh not a fan. The rooms were dingy and smelled of mildew. Yes, I get that your ski town but the amount of traffic in and out, seems they would have enough money to maintain and clean the carpets. The room we booked with tax and resort fee was over $400/night. I could have gotten the same quality at Best Western. Not worth the $$$

Yelp
Went to Telluride for a few days Spring break and it snowed two feet. The Hotel Telluride is a cozy place be for such a time...taking life in stride is the gift the Hotel Telluride dispenses with ease and grace. Thawed the ice off our car in the heated garage. Easily walked to town for galleries, espressos bars, and great food. This is a real town and not a tourist trap...more outdoor stores on a single street than any other place than the mountains. We spent some good time in front of the fire reading and stuffing ourselves with chocolate chip cookies. Best of all is the in house bistro with few but broad set of choices on the menu...fine wine list, mixed drinks, and draft beers...well run and pleasant place to spend a leisurely snowy evening. A hearty breakfast provided complete with lattes...prepared us for the day exploring in a town totally focused on health, exercise, and adventure. We were impressed with how enthusiastic and outgoing everyone is here...wanting their visitors to feel welcome, have a good time, and comeback; which we already are planning to do. Without question this is where we will stay.

Yelp
Stayed there for 3 nights. Upgraded to the Summit Suite, I was pretty excited about it. It was just me and a buddy skiing for a few days. When we got there, the cable/tv wasn't working. We notified the front desk. They had several people try to get it working, but no luck. They assured me it would be fixed the next day, offered us breakfast. I was ok with it. Next day, still not working. They assured me it would be fixed the next day and offered $250 credit, again nice, but I didnt want the money (it was a $800/night room) I just wanted the TV to work. They never got it to work, which to me rendered the suite useless when traveling with a friend. Also only a few channels in the bedroom worked. After I checked out early Sunday morning, I never heard from them. I even emailed them. I will never go back and I don't recommend staying there. There's a reason they are the cheapest place in town. You get what you pay for!

Yelp
Wow! So comfortable, so classy, and much needed after a long trip. We stayed 2 nights to rest up, and this hotel could not have been more comfortable. Tom was wonderful! The room was big and spacious. Bathrooms and toiletries were top choice. The open patio was so easy for the dog & he seemed really cozy. We enjoyed it so much! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
I reserved the Summit Suite for my son's honeymoon night at The Hotel Telluride They checked in late afternoon and were excited by the room, wine and strawberries. They dressed for dinner. When they returned late in the evening and turned down the covers they found streaks of blood and bodily fluid on the sheets. They were disgusted. They called the front desk and were told they had no one to change the sheets. So my son and his new bride departed the suite and The Hotel Telluride to stay at her parent's house. I don't know how you can ever remove that awful sight and memory from what was supposed to be a perfect once in a life time night.

Yelp
Very good location, but not directly in town center. There are other locations more central. We booked last minute and I choice this over another hotel more central because of the lower rating of the other. Everything about the room was very comfortable. But the traffic noise in the morning was very loud. We were in an end unit so got hit directly by the noise. Really not much to do about that, except put in new multi paned windows? The prices were ridiculous, but that is just a given with Telluride. You could tell that service is an expectation here, however upon check in the counter guy was overwhelmed. He was doing his best, and I think I heard him say they were short staffed while he was on the phone. We paid for underground parking $20, got the last spot. In our room we realized we were directly over the garage door. So every time it opened it was pretty loud too. Again beggars cant be choosers...we managed to get the last room, and I was happy to have it.

Yelp
It's a great little hotel on the main drag of Telluride. The bed was pretty high and super comfy. I LOVED that they had make up wipes in their toiletry kit. There was no complimentary breakfast. It costs $14. No, thank you! They had complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, and cucumber water in the lobby. Parking is $20 for overnight (yikes). The staff was helpful and sweet! :) Thank you for a great stay!

Yelp
A-MAZING!!!! holy wow, so great! Atmosphere of Room: Very nicely appointed room and VERY clean. There was a lot of empty wall space though. I wonder if some artwork could be added to fill the void a little. Lobby Ambiance: Cozy, warm, inviting, feels like home, very classy. Suggestions:The wainscoting on the bathroom walls was a bit dated. I wonder if even a simple darker stain would modernize it to fit the rest of the room. It felt a bit like the bathroom was in a tack house. Amenities: None were explained either upon check in or in printed communication so if they have amenities, we sure did not know about them. Feedback/Issues: We needed mouthwash and apparently after asking several staff, the hotel doesnt have any mouthwash. Housekeeping doesnt offer it and the incidental concession at the front desk didnt have any. I was actually kind of shocked that such a lovely hotel had literally no way of offering mouthwash to a guest. Very strange. The bathtub had one of those handicap fold-down seats. We're not handicap and as such, even folded up, the seat was really in the way when we tried to take a bath...my head kept hitting it. Terribly uncomfortable. At some hotels, the handicap seat is completely removable and intended to be take out or placed in the tub as needed. Maybe look into this?? The shower head broke right off the nozzle when I tried to use it (and I was attempting to use it correctly btw). It was stuck and when I lifted it out of the clasp, it completely broke off. Had I not been paying attention, the nozzle hose would have shot shower water all over the bathroom like a fire hose. I was embarrassed to inform the front desk but didn't know what else to do - it was not from misuse. The front desk was very accommodating. I had breakfast in the small but very comfortable restaurant bar. The server was kind and pleasant, but I kept getting the feeling that maybe she was actually having a really lame morning OR she was hung over or something or in a totally bad mood. Just a strong vibe I kept picking up on. My order was simple and I pretty much asked for no special treatment at all. Parting Thoughts: Parking - its a nightmare for your guests and its the off season. Figure this out without having to charge your guests $20 a night to park. Its a bit ridiculous to charge so much....during the off season.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Telluride for one Friday night in mid-October on a road trip around Colorado. I wish I had planned to stay all three nights at the Hotel Telluride - that's what a wonderful stay we had!!! We were warmly greeted in a plush, rustic-chic lobby with a big cozy fireplace. At the front desk was a small chalkboard dog with visiting canines names on it! We didn't have a dog with us, but we both thought it was adorable. We asked about parking in the garage, because it looked rather small. It is $20 per night to park. I was nervous our huge Toyota Tundra wouldn't fit, so we parked on the street. Our room was phenomenal! We were in #101 on the first floor. It was a corner room, so lots of space and windows, but not much of a view, which didn't bother me. It had a patio which faced the soccer field of the high school, but was concealed from view by a tremendous tree. There were two chairs and a small table on the patio, and we enjoyed sitting outside all night long after we returned from dinner and drinks. The room itself was delightful... there was a surprise around every corner!!! We brought our own pillows, but certainly didn't need to, as there were six on the bed, and an extra in the closet! The bed and pillows were soooooooo comfortable, I wanted to cancel the rest of our trip and lay in that room all day!!! Everytime I needed something, the amenities in the hotel room were right there. They have taken my every need into consideration! Drinking wine? Wine glasses were waiting for us above the dry bar, also complete with a small fridge, and Keurig with tea, coffee, and hot chocolate selections. Need to eat your leftovers at 6:00 in the morning? A complete assortment of utensils and dishes await, along with a microwave conveniently located above the bar. Cold and dry? The closet reveals two fluffy robes and a humidifier! Also, the bathroom was stocked with makeup cleansing towelettes, q-tips, cotton balls, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel, mini sewing kit, hair dryer, and shower cap. We didn't get to try the restaurant, but on Friday nights, they have what sounds like an incredible special - steak, Caesar salad, veggies, and a glass of wine for $18.95!!! We were tempted to stay, but since we only had one night in Telluride, wanted to get out and explore. There was a hot tub I really wanted to hang out in, but I forgot my swim suit at home, so I missed out on that. The hotel also offers a gym and spa... I need to stay there a week and try it all!!! When we checked out on Saturday morning, we were on the search for eggs Benedict. William was very knowledgeable, and directed us to the New Sheridan, an excellent recommendation. Our stay in Telluride was so dreamy and flawless!!!! We can't wait to return!!!

Yelp
Whoops forgot to review! Lovely boutique hotel in old Telluride within walking distance to everything. Room was clean and spacious and bathroom was lovely. The parking spaces in the basement were way too tight. Live music in the lobby and we had our own little deck off our room which was a nice surprise. The rooms were quiet - we'd def stay again.

Yelp
The Hotel Telluride is terrific. The lobby is well laid out and has some terrific sitting areas, the front desk staff are really helpful, and the rooms are spectacular. The bed is easily the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. I found it better than the Ritz, better than Hilton, better than the Waldorf. My erstwhile traveling companion found the bed perhaps a little too tall. The hotel is an easy walk to dozens of restaurants, and the gondola station. They also have car service, which adds to the convenience. Self parking under the hotel is an additional fee, but it is secure and heated. There is limited on street parking. A terrific place to stay.
