We just returned from our time in Galway and had a wonderful experience at the House Hotel. The location and hospitality were amazing. We were set up in the apartment down the street and it was fantastic. Special thanks to Jules and Emmett at the front desk for making us feel welcome and making our trip special. Emmett makes the best whiskey sour in Ireland. Thanks again.

Google
Amazing hotel in the heart of the Galway tourist district. My wife and I only stayed here one night, but the experience was great. Friendly and helpful staff and a beautiful and comfortable room. The staff went out of their way on the day of our departure to watch our luggage while we explored the city and the front desk clerk even made us coffee and tea as we waited for the taxi they had arranged to tale us to the train station. As a bonus the breakfast included is the perfect start to the day.

Firstly the “free self parking” that we were told was no where to be found, however we did get discounted parking at the Q Park, we travel light so this wasn’t too bad for us but if you travel heavy could be an issue. Reception was fast, too fast, felt like questions we asked were a bother. Learned there was no restaurant on site. That said, the room was nice and the best rain shower head I’ve ever had. When we went to get a drink again felt like we were a bother, so went to some pubs instead. The next morning we were greeted by another reception team who were very pleasant. The bed was good, room was clean. Overall a goodish experience. 3/4 stars.

The House Hotel in Galway was outstanding! The facilities are more than adequate, but the real gem is the central location, all of the best doings in city Galway are just a short walk away. Even the ferry pick up point to Inishmore with scenic route back by the Cliffs of Moher is just a few blocks away from the hotel. It's literally steps away from the best restaurant and cocktails (looking at you, Ruibin) and the best spice bag (Xi'an) in city Galway as well as all the pubs and cheeky pints you could ask for. The concierge at the front desk is very nice and helpful with recommendations, and Emmet at the bar is class and makes phenomenal whiskey sours and Irish coffees! Overall an amazing experience staying at The House Hotel!

Google
Not sure how this hotel rates so high. If I had to pick one word to describe it i would say, "adequate" would sum it up. Staff was very pleasant and very helpful. If your coming to Galway to party and only need a roof over your head then this does the trick with a short walk to the bars and restaurants. The hotel mind as well not have windows because the very best view you will get is of a building next to you or a street. The worst view will be of building equipment and trash right outside your window. Breakfast is typical powdered eggs and cheap sausage with a finicky coffee machine. You can tell this place is trying hard to find a place in the boutique hotel space... but it misses thr mark. Like I said... if you are looking to store your luggage some place and just have a bed to sleep in... this will work. If you enjoy hotel atmosphere, views, amenities and a decent breakfast i would look elsewhere.

Google
Holy cow, what a perfect hotel! The room is so spacious and comfortable! And beautifully appointed! We had breakfast included and it was a great start to the day! The staff was very helpful with our questions about recommendations! It was our most expensive hotel in Ireland, but it's hard to compare, you know? Parking was very close, and reasonable (€11 for overnight).

Google
We loved the House Hotel. It's a charming, informal, welcoming place, friendly even by Irish standards. The location is convenient to everything. Our room was tastefully appointed, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is nothing fancy, certainly not the "Full Irish", but more than enough to get the day started. You don't have to look more than a few blocks in Galway to find accomodations that are more grand. You will not find a more delightful atmoshphere or better service anywhere.

Google
This was a great find for our last minute stay! The location couldn’t be better - we were able to walk back from the bars in just a couple of minutes at night. The concierge who checked us in was super friendly but not in a fake hotel kind of way. He recommended some places for us to have a casual dinner and listen to some live music. The room itself was more than adequate. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet - we didn’t hear noise from any other guests and the noise from the street was almost non-existent. The real MVP though, was the shower. Might be the best shower I’ve ever had in my life. The water pressure was crazy good. Overall, a very successful stay and we would book this place again in a heartbeat. Now, on to Sligo!

Yelp
Great stay! You are outside of the main area but just down the street like a 5 min walk (seriously). Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room and the front desk has a full tiny bar in case you need you for the room 10/10

Yelp
Absolutely horrible hotel! They advertise as a boutique hotel- not even close. A glorified youth hostel. Room was minuscule, furniture cheap and worn. The bed had a flat sheet directly on the mattress, fortunately the mattress appeared clean. Pillows were old and worn. Shower grout was moldy, the frosted glass bathroom door did not close correctly. There was a strong odor of mildew in the room. Breakfast setup was chaotic and a constant bottleneck at the coffee machine. We had booked two nights and only stayed one. Wi-Fi not working and front desk minimized the issue and offered no compensation. The only plus was location but the negatives far outweighed that.

Yelp
Very low end accommodations per American standards. No housekeeping. Shower was smaller than a phone booth. Lousy bedding and uncomfortable bed. On the good side...very nice breakfast! I will never return.

Yelp
Wonderful staff, comfortable beds and quiet so you can rest when needed. Walking distance from town and most restaurants & shops.

Yelp
Legacy Hotel in the midst of renewal. Despite other (negative) reviews, we found the room nice appointed and quite lovely. Our stay included breakfast. Food was okay, but the serving staff totally disorganized and apparently inexperienced. The Hotel is located in an ideal location for experiencing Galway - just a block or so from the main tourist streets and excellent pubs, but quiet and also located near the fascinating Docks. The Staff were congenial and tried hard to be helpful, but just about everyone we met were new hires. All-in-all a good value, but requires a little patience as they work to get their acts together.

Yelp
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel was clean. Within walking distance from most everything we wanted to do while in Galway.

Great location. Super front staff. Great recommendations. Easy access to main street and getting around Galway.

Yelp
I loved this boutique hotel in Galway! Immediately upon walking in, we were greeted by reception and immersed in the pink, trendy decor of the hotel. Pros: 1. Location, location, location - everything we wanted was only a short walk from the hotel. 2. Breakfast - Coffee and tea, buffet with juices, fruit, yogurt, and pastries was included, as well as a hotel entree choice. There was a variety of egg options, including eggs benedict and an egg and veggie plate. 3. Clean rooms - The room was immaculate when we arrived. 4. One of the electrical outlets had a built in AMerican converter - so convenient! 5. Large bathrooms with Orly Kiely bath products 6. Spacious, warm lobby, and trendy hotel bar (with an impressive cocktail list). The bar was actually dead on the Wednesday night we were there, but I can imagine its lively on the weekends! 7. Free wifi was reliable. Cons: 1. Small rooms - We were actually upgraded to a deluxe room, and were still surprised by how small it was. Our original room must have been tiny! Still, this can be expected in Europe and wasn't too much of a con. My group booked 2 rooms through their website, but unfortunately they lost one reservation when we arrived. They made it right, by upgrading the other members of our group to a suite. The suite was huge, and I was jealous of the apartment-like space they had (even though it was unnecessary for our short visit)! I highly recommend this hotel! We would definitely stay here next time if we visit Galway again.

Yelp
It was great for what we needed - a solid, comfortable, reasonably priced, last minute place to stay. Pros: - Walking distance to lots of great restaurants and pubs - Easy to walk to the water (beautiful views during sunset!) - Comfortable bed - Decent sized room - Friendly staff Cons: - TINY shower (like, you have to open the shower door to bend over and shave your legs, tiny!) - No drinking water in the room, this is a small thing, but would have been a nice plus. - Weird electrical issues with the light switches (very confusing and the lights the switches are connected to don't make any sense). Overall, it was pretty good. The location makes up for a lot.

Yelp
The room was nice and spacious. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small but no big deal. The location was great! There was a car park close by as well as walking distance to shops and restaurants. The breakfast in the morning was very good, amazing coffee! The reason I only gave 4 stars was for the unfriendly front desk woman. Luckily we didn't interact with her much but it gave us an initial poor first impression.

Yelp
The staff, location, amenities and decor of this hotel are beyond our expectations. They have truly thought of everything when it comes to accommodating guests from outside the country. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Yelp
I loved this hotel and had a very good experience. When you walk into this hotel you enter the lounge and reception area. The reception area is not the usual cold counter but a nice desk where we first met Isabel who was so nice and professional. It took less than one minute to check in because Isabel was ready for us. The lounge area feels festive, inviting and fun. You just want to sit and relax which many people were doing having tea and elegant trays of goodies. This boutique hotel has 40 rooms and is in the perfect location. The rooms are lovely. Whoever designed and furnished these rooms was extremely thoughtful! Our room was updated, fresh and very pleasant. There were some really thoughtful features in the room like a light switch for the bathroom and hall area by the bed, a towel warming rack in the bathroom , a rain shower and a hand held shower spray, an outlet for U.S. appliances (yes!) soundproof windows, very comfortable beds and a decent amount of TV channels. We reserved a deluxe room (a bit small) but it didn't bother us at all because the room was very pleasant. We wanted to upgrade but they were sold out (I booked 2 months in advance). The hotel was in very noticeably clean and excellent condition. If you get breakfast in your rate you have a choice of having breakfast delivered to your room or dining in the restaurant which I thought was awesome! My husband reported breakfast downstairs was great with great servers and he brought me some delicious bakery items! The restaurant was good with great service (thanks Charlene!) Excellent specialty drinks are also served at this restaurant. I was told they have over 150 specialty drinks! We had 2 specialty drinks which were awesome. Then we ordered from their 3 for €21 food menu plus we shared an Asian Noodle soup. Very good. Check out their full food and drink menu on their website. You cannot get a better location. Two minute walk to all the restaurants, pubs, shops and 10 minute walk to the train and bus station. Lastly I cannot say enough about the service at this hotel. For example we told Isabel we had to leave the hotel at 5am to catch our plane. She wanted us to have breakfast sent to our room before we left. Me and my husband was so surprised of this offer (breakfast starts at 7am) we declined. She even insisted that we at least have coffee because she sincerely "didn't want us to leave on an empty stomach". Another time our room key stopped working. She reprogrammed our key but it still didn't work. She immediately jumped up from her seat and went to our room and got our room key working within 5 minutes. Another thing comes to mind when leaving the hotel at 5am, either a security man or maintenance man (not sure because we were so surprised but he had a uniform on) approached us and said he was sorry we had to leave so early in the morning and asked us if there was anything he could do for us! I would stay here again in a second!

Yelp
We had 2 nights to explore Galway and the western side of Ireland. This hotel had it all. The location is perfect; walk to all restaurants and pubs. The service was terrific and rooms were relatively spacious for Europe with comfortable beds. There is a restaurant in the hotel offering free breakfast and the bar serves up tasty cocktails. We did not eat dinner there. Would stay there again!

Yelp
Great location and amazing staff! Rooms were clean and well appointed. The hotel itself was quiet which was very nice. Their idea of air conditioning leaves a lot to be desired though. Room was hot and stuffy no matter what which made getting a good night's sleep practically impossible for me.

Yelp
Great location! It's a 3 minute walk to all that is happening in Galway, yet you can sleep with the window open all night long, and it's still quiet. Reasonably priced at €129 night for weeknights. I believe it's €189 for weekend nights. I love the decor of the rooms, it's quite girlie with bright pink chairs, lavender curtains and gold framed mirrors. But what matters most is the large king bed is comfy , and the bathroom is clean. The shower head was amazing!!! Staff was very helpful, parking is validated at a garage a block away for 8euro, 24hours (you can come in and out as you please). We missed the breakfast 8-10am, so I'm no help on that front. It's a great place to recharge in a fun small city in Ireland. Cheers!

Yelp
This was a nice little hotel at a great location. The room was reasonably priced, a good size, and clean. What more can you ask? The only issues were that the light switches were very odd, turning on and off different light combinations around the room that made no sense, and the shower was extremely small. Overall, though, I was very pleased and would stay there again.

Yelp
We loved our stay here. The lobby is done in lovely pinks with comfy sofa settings done in delicious fabrics, many with etched velvet. It's very chic ~ the essence of what a boutique hotel should be. We rented room 301, their best room, and loved it. It's a suite with a wonderful rain shower, separate bath tub and raised sink. The beds are the best I've ever slept in in Europe. Nice and firm, no dips, no problem, and I'm one picky girl. The location is excellent. We didn't have a car and had no need for one. The streets beginning around a block away are cobblestoned and closed to traffic. There are excellent shops and pubs nearby with wonderful live music and atmosphere every evening. Also nearby is a promenade along the Galway Bay, a beautiful place to take a walk.

Yelp
It's a lovely hotel with a very "girlie" motif. Lot's of pinks and a frilly, modern decor. There were quite a few "hen parties"--[their choice of words]--happening the weekend that we were there. I guess that this is the Irish version of a bachelorette party? It's a place wear everyone seems to be dressed up very nicely all of the time. The female staff wear pink tops with black skirts and the men dress in black. Everyone was very good looking too! Kind of Twilight Zone-ish! The rooms are modern, clean and very comfortable. The staff couldn't be any nicer and the location is perfect. Parking will be at a neighboring parking garage within walking distance to the hotel. The front desk will stamp your ticket for a reduced rate--I think we paid 7 Euros a day. Breakfast was very good each morning. The hotel is a bit pricey, but worth it if you're looking to treat yourself to something nicer than the norm.

Yelp
So this place is about as good as it gets. The only knocks would be the price, but hey, what isn't expensive in Ireland and parking if you have a car? It's got a great locale near all the shops and stores in town. The staff and owners are exceptionally helpful. They have free Wifi which is a great plus. The rooms are great, but not a fan of euro beds pushing two twins together to make a queen. The bar at night is a good place to end the night and wind down after hitting the pubs. I highly recommend the House Hotel.

Yelp
An adorable little hotel with a boutique feel that is situated right in the heart of Galway's pedestrian city center. Friendly staff are available to give you a walking map and highlight the places to go for good food and drinks. The hotel breakfast was delicious and included the ever present beans with black and white sausage.

Yelp
We spend our last five days in Ireland at The House Hotel in Galway and it was wonderful! From the moment we checked in, the staff helped us find our way to the local launderette because we desperately needed to clean our clothes (we only packed enough for 5 days out of 10). They even called ahead and told them to expect us because they would be closing soon. Note: The House Hotel provides paid laundry service each morning (we arrived in the evening). The staff was helpful and courteous, always offering a hello and asking if we needed anything. And the location, you couldn't ask for a better location. Truly. You are in the HEART of Galway. This is especially helpful because you can easily walk back to the hotel if you need anything or want to take a little afternoon nap before heading out again. The parking is about a block away but you can get a discount for 8 Euro/day if you have the front desk stamp your ticket. The hotel itself is lovely. Our room was very clean, modern and yet cozy. My husband especially liked the rain shower head in the bathroom! Note, there is a US adapter option built into the wall but we just used our converter so I don't know how well it works. Each morning they offer breakfast which can be included in your stay upon booking. Otherwise you simply pay as you would any other restaurant. Overall, we just loved the "boutique" feeling at The House Hotel. We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely recommend it to our friends and family. Enjoy and happy travels!
