I have stayed at The Houston before and since the management has changed it has really gone down hill. The beauty and unique nature of the place itself remains, but the amenities have slipped big time- the linen and toilet paper is cheap and given out sparingly, the tea selection -which used to be lovely and contain lots of options - is now cheap and one type only, the cutlery dirty in the drawers and the rooms freezing cold room with the heater off on arrival. I really hope the original management and owners come back soon! The new management are not doing your beautiful hotel the justice it deserves! The family run vibe is gone and it’s clear that the new management just don’t care like you did.

A very comfortable place. Plenty of space, neat and tidy. It seems that new management has made a few changes. The generosity of the previous operators and owners is leaking away and profit margin focus seems now the priority. Just one bath towel. Cheap soaps. Overseas call centre booking. Forms to fill in. No extra little touches or personable welcome any more. More of a cookie cutter processing line now than B&B style. Pleasant but not friendly.

Great location. A valiant attempt to repurpose an older heritage building which does not quite work. But a very quiet area and comfortable beds, although the car park outlook did not appeal and lacked privacy. The bedroom of the Junior suite is postage stamp sized and the adjoining kitchenette is more like an alcove. On entry there was a dank musty smell. The bathroom had slippery floor tiles and the noisiest exhaust fan imaginable which could not be switched off. Given the cramped conditions not good value for money, better offers available elsewhere. The impersonal booking and check in method worked but may not be agreeable to some. No breakfasts provided anymore.

recently stayed at the Houston for 2 nights and definitely gone down hill since new management has taken over, they have misleading information on their website about the rooms, they have removed the fresh milk and yogurt from the rooms as well as the rooms are supplied with lower quality towels and the rooms aren't serviced so you have to use the same towel for the duration of your stay. The check in was clumsy at best as none of our codes worked and had to call for new ones, other guests experienced the same problem as us, for a 2 night stay we also got charged an additional $80 service fee on top of the room charge. The exit gate also didn't work when we tried to leave on the last day and had to reverse back all the way out the main gate. When we spoke with the office all we got was standard tone deaf response that we were wrong about everything.

This is a great place to stay. The suites are spacious, comfortable and quiet so no traffic or neighbour noise. Granola, milk and yoghurt is provided along with a selection of tea and coffee. Restaurants are within easy walking distance. We will stay here again when we next return to Wagga.

Lovely room with great amenities. The bed was so comfortable! Gorgeous bathroom & shower. Coffee machine and all the T2 tea you could want. They kindly left yoghurt, muesli and fruit for us for breakfast. It was easy to navigate the grounds and so close to the main road, which had a great pub called the jungle duke. Will definitely stay here when we stay in Wagga Wagga again!

I stayed 1 night before a surgery. They were more than accommodating when I was moved to an afternoon admission, got a few extra hours on my check out and nice supportive words to help me. Was in a ground floor suite, amazing facilities and old world charm, exactly what was needed. Many thanks and highly recommend.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times but not for some time. The beds are still comfortable and it is still a nice boutique experience. |Since we were last here there have been some upgrades for the better. The driveway is now properly paved and there is a beautiful front gate that you drive in.| We loved the smell of the Ashley and Co amenities in the bathroom and will look at purchasing them when we are home. |Will definitely return
