The 10 Best Hotels in Barcelona, Spain to Book Now - AFAR

"Located in Poblenou—a former industrial zone now known for warehouses-turned-coffee shops and slow-food restaurants—this nine-story, 240-room property pairs homey design touches like terra-cotta floors and handcrafted tapestries with locally commissioned artwork. Dining options include a Detroit-style pizza joint and a rooftop taqueria that are popular with locals, especially at sunset. Designed for families and longer stays, a larger room category provides two bedrooms, a kitchenette and a dining area, and an on-site retail space stocks goods from Barcelona artisans, from sustainable clothing to organic cosmetics and bean-to-bar chocolate." - Jennifer Ceaser

The Hoxton, Poblenou (Barcelona, Catalonia) 5 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A former industrial quarter, now filling with creative professionals and lively nightlife, is just the sort of place you’d expect this Shoreditch-born hotel group to pop up. The Hoxton, Poblenou was designed as a tribute to the eminent Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill, and as a result it’s stylistically quite distinct from the rest of the Hoxtons — but in a way that makes it a perfect fit for this ultra-hip Barcelona neighborhood." - Tablet Hotels

A Review of The Hoxton, Poblenou in Barcelona, Spain

"Opened earlier this year as the brand’s first venture into Spain, this 4-star hotel sits in El Poblenou and offers a relaxed, unpretentious vibe that feels like crashing at a friend’s place. Guestrooms are bright with floor-to-ceiling windows, warm tapestries, and terracotta floors that nod to the Mediterranean, while Catalan and Barcelona-based artwork adds local flavor. Public spaces are designed for lounging—casual staff, an open lobby, and a lively rooftop with a pool and panoramic city views (including the Sagrada Familia). On-site dining includes a ground-floor pizzeria and a rooftop Mexican spot serving tacos; amenities include air conditioning, bikes, parking, pool, two restaurants, two bars, room service, a rooftop terrace, and wheelchair access. The property has 240 rooms, rooms start around $170/night, and it places you within easy walking distance of the neighborhood’s pedestrian rambla, parks, and the beach."

Great location well within walking distance to much of Barcelona. If a bit too far to walk cabs are plentiful. Great accommodations great breakfast great people very person service and they went out of there way to make sure. The managers are at the desk regularly and active in ensuring a great experience. The airline lost a bag then delivered us the wrong one. Dmitry went out of his way to help us. He made calls on our behalf. Overall exceptional. Would stay here again in a minute. Everything done right.

The design of the hotel was absolutely beautiful, which is the only reason I gave it 2 stars. Unfortunately, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. First, the hotel broke my brand-new Rimowa suitcase while it was in storage. When I confronted the staff, they responded with: “How do you know it was us? You can’t prove that.” For a hotel that claims to be of high quality, such a reaction is both unprofessional and unacceptable. I was told the matter would be discussed with the manager and that I would be contacted. However, after waiting two weeks, I received no response. Secondly, the pictures and website are very misleading. We specifically booked this hotel for the pool, only to be told that guests cannot use it without paying an additional fee. This is highly unusual and raises the question: what exactly are guests paying for if the advertised facilities are not included? Room service was also poor. Each time I had to call two or three times before anyone came. The room itself was very basic, lacking even standard bathroom amenities. Finally, we booked through American Express, which typically offers benefits such as a complimentary upgrade, early check-in, and late check-out. None of these were honored. This was the first time I experienced such a situation, and it left a very negative impression.

Just stayed 1 night on the start of our Spain trip, WOW. The rooms are lush, the staff are amazing and whole business has such a cool vibe. Everything is easy. Plus they're super dog friendly. We loved it so much that we're changing our whole trip around so we can spend 3 nights there at the end. Hoxton Barcelona YOU'RE AMAZING thank you, see you again in October!

The location of this hotel is AMAZING. Right across the street, you get A TON of shopping, food options, and even a giant grocery store! You may require a bit more effort to transit to tourist attractions, etc. beds are plush and comfortable, air conditioning is strong, no strong smells and has music playing in the room. Quiet and can almost guarantee you’ll have good nights sleep Service is strong with person helping you with luggage at the front However the lobby area is quite small, not much room to sit around and wait for Ubers. There’s a area to sit in the room with a table but it is facing the beds, which is a bit awkward, you can move it to face the view of the church (which is far away view) but you can’t see much once you’re seated down since the bottom half of the window has black lines blocking much of the view I’ll have separate reviews of the restaurant

What can I say? Impressed and satisfied! It was a mom‘s trip, alone without kids — just what we wanted! Big, fancy, clean rooms, polite staff, delicious food, super comfortable bed and pillows, amenities, next to a shopping mall with a food court, and of course, a metro station just a 2-minute walk away! P.S. Maybe you could improve how you welcome guests at the rooftop, and offering a greater variety of breakfast options would be awesome :)))

We celebrated a birthday on the rooftop yesterday and would like to thank the entire staff, especially Abdel. He was not only polite but also genuinely friendly, making the evening truly memorable. He handled every request with care and made sure everything was perfect. We’ll definitely be back to celebrate more birthday, with Abdel as our host again.

The room is very pretty, clean and well built. It gives some sort of Spanish vibes. Excellent location near to the metro, tram and bus station. There is also the community mall in walking distance. The thing is that the bed was not comfortable at all and gave me backache after a night. The elevator are very slow. At night it could be noisy as there is a restaurant/bar located near the hotel. The hotel stuff should also inform the clients about the city tax before checking in.

A modern hotel, in a good place to tour Barcelona, being very near to the bus stops especially the hop on hop off buses. Food was expensive as was the drinks. Roof top bar and pool had good views however you have to pay to use the sunbeds near the pool, didn't use them but I believe it was 30 euros per bed for a limited period.
